Chapter Twenty Four: Judgment Day
Disclaimer: See chapter one.
Well, here we are, at last, the final battle between good and evil. Its been a long time coming. I am glad we are finally here. I actually had this chapter ready to go, but I had to punch through the previous two to get here. I will shut up now and let you enjoy. see you at the end.
On with the show:
It was the last days of July, when the fateful day came near. As the sun rose that summer morning, Danny awoke with it. While he was initially happy with the pleasant morning, as he was about to open the window for some fresh air, a sense of dread came over him. The kind of dread one feels knowing their potential death was near.
'Tomorrow is the Judgment Day,' Danny could feel it in his bones that his date with destiny was tomorrow. He had run out of time. Whether he lived or he died would decide the fate of all worlds. He looked out the window of his room in contemplation. Potentially his last full day on this earth, and maybe even in existence, if he did not become a full ghost upon his death. He knew he had to tell his family and friends, just that he did not know how to. He looked over at his computer, and saw a piece of paper: his will, finally finished. Perhaps it was best to tell them all now, better to give with a warm hand than a cold one, after all.
The Last Will and Testament of Daniel James Fenton
Later, in the early afternoon, Danny stood before everyone he had gathered with his back to them at the moment, looking out the window. He had his family, Tucker, and his girlfriend Sam. The only person that was not there was Valerie as she was out of town until that night. "So, what is this about Danny?" Sam asked.
Danny sighed, and turned from the window, and he showed a sadness and a weariness in his eyes. "Tomorrow is Judgment Day. I know this, as I can feel it in my bones. Tomorrow is perhaps the last day for me, on this earth."
"Don't say that, you will survive," Sam said, worry creeping into her voice.
"While I don't plan on dying, it is a real possibility." Danny told them point blank, "as such, I have called you all here to hear the will I have prepared in anticipation of this day." He pulled out the will from his pocket, unfolded it, and began to read it.
"I, Daniel James Fenton, also known as Danny Phantom, resident of Amity Park, of sound mind and body, do declare that this document as my last will and testament, superseding all other wills made by me." Danny began his reading. After taking care of the formal legalities regarding expenses and taxes, he appointed Maddie and Jazz as executor and backup executor. Then, he got to the disposition of property.
"First of all, I bequeath a portion of my fortune from the revenues from my book to each of you. To my parents, Jack and Maddie Fenton, I bequeath all the files I have made on the Ghost Zone, as well as overall command of the APPGD, until Danielle comes of age to take my place." Moving onto Jazz, "To my sister, Jasmine, I leave supervision of Spectra's new ghost therapy in your hands. I know that you will learn much in this role, and be of great help to her as well. I also leave access to a great library, this will be discussed later."
He moved on to Danielle, which hurt his heart more than it should have. "To Danielle, my younger sister, or my daughter," he got several weird looks at that, but that gave way to understanding as Danielle was a clone of Danny, and most of them knew he struggled with his parental side for her. "I bequeath to you a terrible responsibility. In my absence, if I do not return as a full ghost, it will fall to you to protect the town from the other side. However, you will not be alone, as you will have the Rogues and Clockwork and the APPDGD, and Valerie and everyone else to aid you. I also leave access to Clockwork's library, just like Jazz. I have already spoken with the Time Keeper about this, and he is okay with it. I also leave all my comics to you."
He turned to Tucker, "To Tucker Foley, current mayor of Amity Park, I leave my computer, loaded with games that I know you will enjoy."
At last he turned to his girlfriend, Sam. "To Samantha Manson," she was a bit unnerved by the use of her first name. "I leave a unique item. It is located in a drawer of my desk. You will understand what it is when you get it."
He wrapped up his will reading by telling them to make sure Valerie got her share of the fortune. When he was done, everyone gave him a big group hug with tears in their eyes. The rest of the day was a somber one, as Danny was telling everyone what he wanted to happen, city wise when he was gone, assuming he fell, as well as Sam clung to him. Danielle did as well, but due to what she recalled from her conversation with Dan at Christmas. Sam spent the night at the Fenton household, curled up with Danny in his bed, silently crying into his chest. He held her in his arms as she cried.
Morning before Battle
Danny awoke first of the two of them. He managed to scoot out from under Sam. After taking care of his morning needs, he stood before his bedroom window. He looked out over the city that he fought so long to protect.
At this moment, a quote from a video game he and Tuck once played came to mind. A very apt one, of course changed to fit his situation. "The healthy human mind does not wake up in the morning thinking this is its last day on earth. But, I think that's a luxury, not a curse. To know you are close to the end is a kind of freedom. Good time to reflect. The people will remember me for this. Because, out of all my vast array of nightmares, this is the one I chose for myself. I go forward like a breath exhaled from the earth, with vigor in my heart and one goal in sight: I will win." Danny made his soliloquy about the state of things, sort of as a way to pep himself up for what must happen that day.
"You will win, I know it," Sam said, waking up in his bed. Apparently his soliloquy was a monologue after all. Danny half-sad smiled at her. He hoped she was right.
Breakfast was a somber affair, the six of them ate in silence, some holding back tears. Today was the day.
Clocktower
At the stroke of noon, as the bells of the Lord of Time's realm sounded, a crack in dimensions appeared. Clockwork noticed it and a look of fear crossed his face. "No, it can't be today." As he watched it, the crack got bigger and opened up, to let the dark spirit that was on the other side through. Clockwork lunged for Dan, hoping that he had made a miscalculation on the date. Before he could reach the specter, Clockwork was thrown backward by an invisible field. His fears were realized. Judgment Day was here and he could not interfere with a fixed point in time.
"That's interesting. Powerless, old man?" Dan snarked, and spat on the floor in disgust for the ghost before him.
"The Final Battle between you and Daniel is upon us. Then go, await your battle. I will open a portal to Amity Park Center. He will meet you there." Clockwork said, sternly. He was not pleased by this. He opened a portal to Amity Park for the Dark One to go through. Once Danny's evil counterpart had gone through the portal, Clockwork sounded the alarms throughout the Ghost Zone, and summoned to him the Council of Rogues and the Nature Trio, as well as Frostbite and Fright Knight.
"Judgment Day is here, everyone. Let us hope Fate decrees we all survive this day." A sense of worry went through the Rogue Council for Danny, some more than others. Clockwork dismissed the Knight to retrieve the artifacts of the king and told him to meet them in Amity Park. With a swish of Clockwork's staff, the rest of them were gone.
Fenton Household
Everyone that had been at the house the day before had gathered again, Danny solemnly looked out the living room window. He saw Dan floating high above the city, daring him to come forth. "It's time," he said, to the shock of everyone else. He transformed into Phantom, and turned to everyone else. The looks on their faces told him everything, they were not ready to face the possibility that he was going to die today. To be honest, neither was he, but he did not have a choice in the matter. He had to face Dan one last time.
"I'll be right beside you, brother," Danielle said, as she transformed as well.
"No," Danny said, firmly. "This is my fight." He looked back out the window briefly.
"I have a stake in this too, as I am your clone, so technically I am you," she argued against him.
"You are my little sister, not me. I must do this alone, and that is final. Let's go." Danny put his foot down, even though he had done all this work so that he was no longer alone in the fight against the Ghost Zone, he would not let anyone else fight Dan, for their safety.
Everyone that couldn't fly loaded up into the RV and they headed for town square. They got there and disembarked. As they did, a large group of ghosts led by Clockwork appeared alongside them. Clockwork had a sad smile on his face. "I'm sorry Daniel, that we find ourselves here."
"I knew it was going to happen sooner or later. I am ready." He hugged his friends and family one last time. Johnny, Kitty, Ember and Desiree also had hugs to give him. He kissed Sam goodbye, and then knelt before Danielle, looking her in the eye. "Danielle, know that I am proud of you, and you are everything I wanted in a younger sibling. I'm also sorry that at times I seem like an extra parent to you, but I do see you like a daughter. You will become a fine ghost fighter, and Amity Park will love you like it does me. They are in your hands now." He kissed her forehead, then stood, turned, and floated up to face down his evil self.
With the APPDGD
Alarms sounded, "Code Black, Code Black," the alarms blared. Officers were scrambling all over the precinct. The Captain told the Lieutenant that he wanted every available officer to be out in the field. The Lieutenant gathered his SWAT team in their vehicle with their heavy weapons. As they drove with other police vehicles in escort, he tried to give a pep talk. "Everyone, a day we feared has come. Our favorite sergeant's greatest foe is currently hovering above the center of our great city. He needs our help, he always has done right by us. Today, we prove his faith in us. Everyone is counting on us. If we succeed, drinks are on me. If any of us fall in the line of duty, you will be remembered in full honors." Every member of the SWAT team checked their weapons, their minds focused on their duty. They knew what was about to happen, what they had to do. Was there any doubts, any private fears, perhaps, but no one said a word. They steeled their nerves and loaded their weapons with dutiful intent.
When they arrived at the scene, they filed out of their APC and took up positions, some with weapons at Dan, others creating a perimeter to keep civilians back. Clockwork floated up to the Lieutenant, who curtly acknowledged the time master, but was wary of the company he was in. "Don't worry about them, just keep a perimeter, none can interfere with what is about to happen."
"Are you sure, we never leave a man on their own." Clockwork just fixed the officer with a look that said both that he was dead serious and that he wished that they all could help Danny. "Fine, just keep them under control." The officer motioned to the ghosts that were in the standing with the Fenton Family, to which Clockwork nodded in agreement.
With Valerie
Valerie was getting ready for the fun father-daughter bonding activity she and her father had planned when she heard her wrist ghost alert beeped, a tone that was never supposed to sound. It meant either the Ghost King or Dan Phantom were on the loose. Valerie turned on the tv in her room to the news channel. What she saw worried her, live footage of Danny floating up to his most hated foe. She raced for her closet for her Huntress outfit. but it wasn't there. "Dad?" Valerie called across the house.
"What, honey," her father called back.
"Where is my Red Huntress suit," Valerie asked across the house.
"What?" her dad asked back, confused.
"Where is my Red Huntress suit," Valerie asked again, louder this time.
"I, uh, put it away," her father said.
Noticing what was happening on tv, "Where?" she shouted and began to run through the house looking for it.
"Why do you need to know?" her father asked her.
"I need it," Valerie shouted back.
"Oh no, you are not running off to no hero work, we have been planning this father-daughter fun day for months," her dad said back.
"The public, and Danny are in danger," she shouted back, trying to make him see reason.
"Our fun afternoon is in danger," Mr. Gray tried to counter.
"You tell me where my suit is, Dad, we are talking about the greater good," Valerie snapped, getting fed up.
"There is no real thing as the greater good," Mr. Gray said.
"I am a police corporal, and this is an obstruction of justice, tell me where it is or I will cite you for this." Valerie threatened, wishing she didn't have to remind her father of that fact but she did anyway. She finally found her suit and hoverboard, and suited up and set off.
As she approached, Clockwork sent Technus up to intercept her, an ironic sense of humor behind it, no doubt. She landed next to the Fenton Family and slid her visor off and watched the battle in worry, just like everyone else.
The Last Battle
Danny floated up to look his counterpart dead in the eye. He saw nothing but malice and hate in the other's eyes, despite the evil smirk on his face. "Have you said all your goodbyes, all your affairs in order? Hopefully, you have, as you will not see them again." Dan taunted his good counterpart, trying to unnerve him..
"Only one of us is walking away from this, and it won't be you." Danny said, fiercely.
"Oh, you will have to kill me for that to happen. Can you cross that line, especially with everyone watching you?" Dan motioned to the crowd that had gathered to witness this. "They have gathered to see their hero perish this day."
"I may die, Dan, but I will ensure you will never hurt anyone again. I will do what I must." Danny said, as he readied his battle stance.
"You will try," the smirk gave way to a snarl. Then, the battle began, both of them lunged toward each other.
"On to Victory," Danny cried, hope in his voice.
"On to Death," Dan counter cried. They exchanged blows, fists and kicks, ecto-beams, and everything else they had. They utilized their entire arsenals against each other. Danny fired Ice at his foe, who countered with Heat beams. In his time trapped in a pocket dimension, he had finally unlocked the secret to the elemental power. Thanks to Danny's training with his Rogues, they were two evenly matched. Both tried to use their wails, but they canceled each other out. They were at a stalemate, though Dan had a slight advantage when he decided to use his duplication abilities, but Danny was more easily able to handle it this time as there were not six different ghosts to worry about. Danny also had more experience with Ice, so where he had a deficiency, made up for elsewhere.
Both of them constructed green Ecto Swords, and began a dance of death in the air. Attack, Block, Parry, Counterparry. In many ways, it would have been an elegant duel, if not for the stakes and the ferocity with which the combatants swung at each other.
As the battle raged, on the ground, panic and worry were spread amongst everyone. While the Fenton Family clung together, as well as the group of Johnny, Kitty, Ember, and Desiree. Among the crowd, Dash was close to the barricades the police had set up to create their perimeter, as he watched his hero fight to the death.
Clockwork heard a horse's neigh, and realized the Fright Knight had arrived with the tools necessary to turn the tide in the favor of one or the other. "Lord Clockwork, I have brought the artifacts." Fright Knight swung his leg over Knightmare and hopped off with the Crown and Ring in his hands.
"Good, get them up to Daniel," Clockwork commanded the Knight, who took off to fulfill the order. Dan noticed the Knight, duplicated while he was in a grapple with Danny and intercepted the Knight. He wrenched the artifacts from the Knight's grasp. The real him broke the grapple and merged back with his duplicate. He laughed evilly as he placed the Crown and Ring on himself and as he felt the rush of power. The tide had turned in the favor of evil. Dan unleashed a beating on Danny that rivaled the beating he took at the hands of the cabal. Danny had to start relying more on raising his shield to block attacks. Multiple times an attack would hit him and send him into the ground. He would get up, wipe the ectoplasm from his nose and lips and take back to the sky.
The group of ghosts holding each other tightened up when Dan had got his hands on the artifacts. Even Spectra joined that group, simply because she recalled what Dan had threatened of her when the Rogues had visited the Clock Tower. Youngblood had weasled his way into the middle of the group hug as he was very afraid for his existence. For the humans, they too clung tighter together at the sight of the Crown and Ring on Dan.
They watched as Danny fought against his counterpart, with all the courage and power he had, but it was not enough. An ecto-beam battle took place, and it did not go in Danny's favor. It did give them hope that even though he may have been fighting a losing battle, Dannny still fought with everything he had.
"This is not good, Time Master," Skulker stated the obvious.
"Only one ghost artifact can help him now: the Reality Gauntlet," Fright Knight said.
"Too bad Danny destroyed it after the Freakshow incident," Tucker said, overhearing the ghost's conversation.
Clockwork closed his eyes and sighed in slight frustration, "I'll be right back." With swish of his scepter, the Time Master was gone. Moments later, he reappeared with the Gauntlet, Sam and Tucker gave the Lord of Time confused looks, "I'll explain later, right now he needs this."
Dan blasted Danny with a powerful ecto-ray that sent hurtling into the ground. As Danny stood up, and wiped ectoplasm and blood from his face, "Daniel, catch." Clockwork tossed the Gauntlet to him. Fortunately, Dan was too far up in the air to reach it in time.
Dan's eyes shot open in rage, realizing what was delivered to his counterpart, "No! It can't be," the dark spirit shouted. Danny caught the artifact, and was confused by its appearance that day, but shook it off. He did not have the luxury of questioning the aid that was given to him right now. He slipped his arm into it and took off back to the fight.
"Use the Gauntlet, take the Crown and Ring from him," Clockwork called out as Danny flew back to his evil self.
Danny inputted the correct activation sequence. Form, Fantasy, Form, Life, Fantasy, Power. Activating the gauntlet, Danny used it to remove the Crown of Fire and Ring of Rage from his foe. He pulled the artifacts of the King to his open hand and looked down at them in thought for a brief moment. He raised the gauntlet to his foe and was ready to finish this, by erasing him from existence. It would be so easy, remove the shadow over him. So easy to ensure that those he loved most would be forever safe from him. However, as much as part of him wanted to do that, he couldn't muster the will to do it. He couldn't cross the line.
"Use the crown and ring, end this battle," Clockwork called out. First things first though, to ensure that he was not tempted, Danny invoked the gauntlet's safety mechanism. He imagined a safe place and sent the gems away. He then dropped the gauntlet, so that Dan could not get it. Danny, somewhat worried, placed the Crown of Fire on his head and it floated above his white hair, and slid the Ring of Rage onto his right finger. The rush of energy that came with it was immense and Danny nearly couldn't control it. It nearly consumed him. His body contorted in various ways as he struggled to get a hold on the immense rush of power.
'Moment of truth," Clockwork thought. Finally, after a moment of difficulty, Danny was able to bring the power under control. 'So, he can wield them, he is worthy after all. I knew it.' Clockwork smiled that he was right.
Then, Danny turned the artifact's power back upon his archfoe. Now, Dan was on the receiving end of the beatdown that he had been giving Danny. Both Phantoms fired charged ecto-beams at each other, meeting in the middle and commenced a beam struggle. This time, Danny won and it dazed Dan. Danny grabbed his dark half and threw him down to the ground, and followed close at hand. As Dan tried to get up, Danny fired empowered Ice beams out of his hands, encasing his counterpart's body below the neck in a thick slab of ice. Thick and hard enough that it could not be broken out from the inside. In a final attempt to attack his good side, Dan unleashed a dragon fire breath at Danny, who countered with ice beams out his eyes. He froze Dan's mouth, so that he could not speak or attack with a Ghost Wail.
Just like that, it was over, the battle won for the side of good. Clockwork knew it was over, as he felt the fixed point in time fading away. Danny, still with the artifacts of the King on him, turned to face his family, friends, and former Rogues. What he did not expect was for some of the ghosts to start to kneel before him. He started towards everyone. As he limped toward them, the Ring of Rage slipped from his finger, the Crown of Fire tumbled from his head, the blue white rings of transformation formed and slid over him. Human once more, he took a few more steps and then collapsed on the ground. Everyone raced toward him. They reached him and rolled him on his back. Sam was on her knees besides her boyfriend. Her hands touched his face, when he didn't respond, she pressed her ear to his chest. She did not hear his heart beating, which caused her and by extension everyone else to panic. Sam tried to do CPR but to no avail. Technus stepped forward as the Lieutenant ordered the precinct to get a paramedic team out on the double. The APPDGD and regular APPD officers provided crowd control to keep people back.
"I am going to try to restart his heart, I need space," the ghost master of technology said. People gave him room to work. Sam laid Danny's head in her lap, and pulled his shirt up to give Technus access to his chest. Technus charged his hands like defibrillators. "Clear," he placed his hands on Danny's chest and transferred the charge. It did not work. He did it again, increasing the charge, no luck. He did it again for a third time, "come on, ghost child, you're not dying today." He tried one last time with more voltage, but it seemed, in the end, they had failed to restart Danny's heart. The great hero Danny Phantom was dead, having given his life to protect what he cared about most. Human and Ghost alike began to cry in mourning for their lost hero and friend/family member. Sam and Danielle held tightly to his body, crying the loudest. Maddie had fallen to her knees as they had given out on her. The idea of a parent having to bury a child was too much for her to take standing. Jack knelt beside his wife and held onto her as she cried into his shoulder.
"Dad, wake up," Danielle muttered into Danny's chest. Even though she didn't see Danny as her father, it was something that he secretly had wanted to hear her say, and she never said to him while he was here.
As people shed tears for the lost hero, a dark laugh rang out. "Ha Ha Ha, Ha Ha Ha. In the end, I won. I killed Danny Phantom," the dark ghost trapped in ice shouted in triumph, having managed to get the ice off his mouth.
Several Ecto-blasters were leveled at the dark spirits head in the hands of mournful officers, vengeance in their hearts. "No, you don't win, because in death, he becomes a martyr. A symbol to the cause of good." One of the officers who was aiming his weapon at the dark one said.
Ember slung her guitar around and started to play and sing Amazing Grace. Many soon joined in singing, to lament the fallen hero.
As the town mourned and as the Singer sang her song, in that hour at last, it seemed that Fate smiled on them. Danny gasped for breath and his eyes shot open, to everyone's shock and joy, and Dan's horror and anger. "No," he snarled, "I killed you," but no one was paying attention to the dark spirit trapped in ice.
"Whoa, what happened?" was all Danny could ask, when he found his voice. His memory was a bit messed up at the moment.
"You died, ghost child, but you won first," Technus said as he got to his feet.
"Died? Huh, yet here I am," he laughed. Locking eyes with his girlfriend's tear stained, smiling face, "Will you marry me?" Realizing that since he had died before asking that, his priorities shifted around. He figured that he would ask now in front of everyone.
Sam smiled and shook her head in amusement. "You better propose properly, but yes." She kissed him, and then helped him to his feet. He had to lean on her a bit as his energy was sapped from him.
Clockwork floated up to them, with a half smile on his face. "Well done my boy, you won this day, and saved the fate of all worlds."
"Everything is as it should be then?" Danny quoted at the Time Keeper, with a wry smile.
"Mostly, but I will save the rest of that for later." Clockwork smiled sadly, glad Danny won.
The ambulance arrived and paramedics rushed to tend to the wounded hero, they wheeled out the gurney and the medics laid him on it. As they strapped him in for his safety, Clockwork floated next to him. "Rest, my boy, I will oversee the holding of Dan and then when you are better, we will decide his fate." He was then put in the ambulance, Sam joined him, and they sped away to the hospital. The rest of the Fenton family climbed into the RV, and followed the Ambulance.
Clockwork turned to the officers of the APPDGD and addressed the leader, "Lieutenant."
"Clockwork, what should we do with him?" the Lieutenant asked him. Clockwork's upper lip twitched slightly at not being addressed by his Lord title. Now, he understood what the other three felt.
"Thermos him, and keep it in a cell that has a ghost shield that covers every wall, he won't be able to get out of that. When Danny is healthy again, he and I will come to get the thermos and then pass judgment. He will never trouble anyone ever again, this I vow." Clockwork ordered. The Lieutenant nodded and motioned two other officers over to capture the dark ghost in a thermos. Before they did so, Clockwork punched the ghost hard in the face to knock him out for a while, he did that mostly to stop him from trying to Wail at the officers.
With Dan dealt with, Clockwork turned to address the Rogues. "What do you suppose killed him?" Kitty asked, concerned about what just happened to someone she considered a friend.
"If I had to guess, it was a combination of the beating Dan gave him and then immediately forcing his body to control the energies of the Crown and Ring." Clockwork answered the question as he noticed that the Fright Knight retrieved said artifacts from where they fell. "You know what I am going to say, considering that most of you kneeled. There is going to be a new King."
"The Whelp," Skulker sighed, with his arms crossed.
"Well, better choice than the other options," Spectra inputted. Everyone had to agree with that, some of them were perfectly accepting of the idea.
"You are all dismissed for the time being," Clockwork sent them all home, while he remained to oversee a few things.
Later
Once Danny was released from the hospital, he did have to make sure that he could transform still, as it was a concern that his ghost half may have paid the price for his victory. Fortunately, both halves were still there. He did require some bed rest to fully recover. Thankfully, due to his ghost abilities, his recovery was quicker than most others would be if they were in his situation. After he was healed, Clockwork came to collect him to decide what to do with his dark counterpart.
When they had released the dark ghost onto the floor of the Clocktower, "Dan Phantom, your time is up. You can no longer postpone your judgment." Clockwork's voice was commanding.
"You will have to kill me, I will never stop, you and them, will never be safe so long as I am around." Dan said, sort of taunting them.
"Despite the fact that I agree with you, as you are too dangerous to be left alive, and I can never trust that you wouldn't try something, I am not a killer." Danny said, hating the fact that he agreed with his dark self.
"There is a third option, Daniel, the Sarcophagus of Forever Sleep. I had a second one made, just in case it was needed." Clockwork inputted an alternative idea.
"Good idea," Danny approved of the idea. They wrapped Dan in unbreakable chains forged in the heart of a dying ecto-star, and they placed him in the Sarcophagus of Forever Sleep that was made specifically for him. As the door was shut, Clockwork locked it with a special skeleton key that broke after using it, so that it may never be opened again. Clockwork locked the Sarcophagus behind a door in his realm that he placed a spell on to never open again.
Thus, the greatest threat to both realms was ended. It hit Danny hard, his war was now over, his life could begin again. There was a massive party, celebrating his victory. Humans and ghosts partook in it, from the APPDGD to the Rogues and the Primordial Lords of the Ghost Zone. True to his word, Danny managed to pull Sam aside at the party. He dropped to a knee and pulled out a box. He popped it open and inside was a beautiful ring. She helped him to his feet and kissed him in agreement. He slipped the ring onto her finger. "You know, had my last will been needed to be executed, this ring was the item I was referring to for you." Sam fixed him with a look both asked 'how long have you been planning to ask this,' and 'I would kill you a second time if that was the case.' Danny laughed. Everything was going as it should, or as Clockwork would say: Everything is as it should be.
*Insert Evil Laugh* Did I have you for a moment? Did you think I actually killed him? Let me know. I did once think I might go that route, but I did not want to end this project on a dour note, so happy ending. Everyone lives, and all. It's not over yet, one last chapter: Epilogue.
Also, references everywhere, from COD: MW2 to the Incredibles both of which made me laugh in the brain image for. Also, given that Danny has some ptsd that he had been dealing with, and that he knew his date with destiny was upon him, Captain Price's speech made sense to me. Also, the Incredibles scene, I was at work, talking to a friend about this story, and the idea made me burst out laughing, I knew I had to use it.
See you all next time. Peace.
