Chapter Twenty Five: Epilogue
Disclaimer: See chapter one.
Well, we are here at last, the finale that both stories have been working toward.
Lumas, this one's for you. Have fun.
I'll leave my thoughts at the end.
For the last time, on with the show:
With the Realms of human and ghost safe once again, things returned to a sense of normal. In the aftermath of the last battle, Tucker had a statue of Danny holding the world made and placed outside City Hall.
"Citizens of Amity Park. As the youngest mayor in city history, it is my great honor to present this commemorative statue honoring the hero who gave everything he had, including himself, to save us all." Tucker pulled a rope to unveil the statue, "Danny Phantom, because thanks to him, we still have our world." Tucker's speech went out to the roaring applause of the crowd.
Danny himself would remark to Sam, "I am glad it is that statue and not one of me and Dan."
"Yeah," Sam agreed with him.
Soon after this, Clockwork came to Danny. "There is one last matter to deal with, Daniel." Clockwork said to him.
"Oh, and what is that, old friend?" Danny asked the ghost.
A smirk formed on the Lord of Time's face, "Your ascension to the throne of the Ghost Zone."
"Excuse me?" Danny was confused. Clockwork wanted him to be King?
"As lord regent of the Infinite realms, and with the other three primordials under my control, the right to anoint a new king lies with me. It's high time that we have a king that will care for us and listen to us. Think about it, Daniel, with you in command, your vision of the future will come to pass. Not to worry, I will handle much of the day-to-day stuff." Clockwork pitched the idea to the halfa.
Danny mulled it over, on the one hand, he wanted to refuse the offer, he wanted to rest. On the other hand, if he could ensure that Amity Park would be safe under his rule, then he had to take it. "What do you say? Will you take your rightful place on the throne?"
"Yes, I will. To protect the town." Danny agreed to the proposal.
"All hail King Phantom," Clockwork said.
Coronation
At the Keep of the Ghost King.
A great crowd of ghosts and a decent amount of humans had gathered in the throne room. The room had been redecorated with brighter colors, reds exchanged for greens and blues. Atop the landing that the new throne stood, on one side stood Lords Vortex and Undergrowth, on the other stood Lords Nocturn and Fright Knight, .Clockwork stood in front of the throne. Frostbite stood next to the Lord of Time, holding the Crown of Fire. Danny himself, now grabbed in a more royal outfit, complete with a long flowing cape and robes in his colors, knelt on the steps leading up to the throne. Clockwork picked up the crown in both hands and held it high for all to see.
"Now come the days of the King," Clockwork placed the Crown of Fire upon Danny's head. "May they be blessed," a smile on Clockwork's face. Danny stood up and turned to face the crowd of gathered ghosts and his family and friends.
"This day does not belong to one man, but to all. Let us together build an alliance, so that we may share in the days of peace." Much rejoicing was had at his speech. He descended the steps to where Sam stood, also wearing a black royal dress. He embraced her and kissed her, his queen that would rule at his side.
He walked up to his rogues gallery, most of whom knelt as he approached, Rogue One, Two, Three, and Five still standing. Of course it would be them.
"Let me guess, you guys have some reservations," Danny said to them.
"You know us well," Spectra said.
"I promise that I will listen to your input and give you whatever you want, within reason, commanders of the ghost zone army," most of the remaining rogues knelt. Only Skulker still recognition of Skulker's leadership abilities, Danny named him High Councillor, as reward for all he did at the Time Master's bidding. At last, Skulker knelt before him. He turned and ascended the stairs, and sat on his throne, to the cheers of the crowd.
Within days of his coronation, Danny went about setting up a Parliament of the Ghost Zone, so hat there was a sense of democracy and that many voices were heard and ideas on how to improve things were heard. Clockwork was named Lord Chancellor, and Skulker served as High Councilor, a very high ranking position in the legislature. True to his word, Clockwork as Lord Chancellor handled day-to-day running of the Infinite Realms, making it easier on the King. Danny was now able to turn his attention elsewhere.
As King, Danny established an embassy in Amity Park for the Ghost Zone. It was a necessary thing considering his plans for the future. His parents had built a portal in the building that served as the embassy so that ghosts would need to come through theirs everyday for work.
As things normalized between the human world and the Ghost Zone in the wake of the Kingship of Danny Phantom and Chancellorship of Lord Clockwork, the APPDGD was needed less and less. As Danny had said, that one day they would no longer be needed, and they would fade back into normal positions, only to pick up their anti-ghost gear when needed.
An earned future
Under Mayor Tucker Foley's leadership, Amity Park quickly became a high tech city. While Tucker had a plan from the beginning of how long it would take, with Technus' aid, his plans were accelerated tenfold. He managed to get retina and fingerprint scanners installed in many places to make life easier for everyone. Tucker was reelected for several terms, though he did sit a term out to be able to go to college, then returned. In fact, that's how he would do it: serve two terms, sit one out, and then go back. He turned out to be an exemplary leader, and he would even go on tours to other cities to show their leaders how to lead a city.
With Tucker's future achieved, Danny's was also achieved. Amity Park became a self-sufficient city. Vortex and Undergrowth worked together to grow crops that would ensure that there was no shortage of food for the city. Box Ghost became the best postal service any city could want. Students at Casper High were served the best meals they ever had. Even the entertainment industry became better, not only did Ember do regular concerts, even Amorpho got a show.
"I am pleased to introduce the Amazing Amorpho," the announcer introduced the ghost. Amorpho came out on stage and began his act, using his shapeshifting abilities to do impressions and other comedy acts. Danny and family watched the show from a private balcony box. Danny was pleased that he had accomplished everything he wanted to.
Danny Phantom Museum
Five years to the day that the battle at Judgment Day was fought, the Hero wing at the Amity Park Museum dedicated to Danny was opened.
Opening Day of the Danny Phantom exhibit at the Amity Park Museum. The royal family was in attendance: King Danny and Queen Sam, along with the one year old Prince Jackson Fenton and Princess Misty Fenton. The young ones did not understand what was going on, of course. They were accompanied by the Fright Knight as a bodyguard, mostly for Sam and the kids. His hand rested firmly on the hilt of Soul Shredder.
Looking around at the exhibits, Sam remarked to her husband, "You know, looking around, it is a bit odd to think that the kids will grow up calling several of the Rogues their aunts and uncles, and the Fright Knight as their protector." Sam cast a glance aside to their bodyguard
Danny laughed, "Yeah, it's weird, how far we have come."
"No doubt Aunt Desiree will be a favorite of theirs," Sam sighed in thought about that chaos.
"I don't know, Aunt Danielle will fight to be their favorite," Danny replied.
"That is true," Sam agreed with Danny. "Speaking of their aunts and uncles, Lunch Lady wants the kids to have a playdate with Box Lunch."
"I think that is a good idea, we will schedule that when we return home."
The reign of King Phantom and the Phantom Dynasty presided over the longest era of peace the Infinite Realms had ever known. Even greater was the sense of happiness that its inhabitants felt for their leadership, as with the parliament, they felt their voices were heard, and that their king cared for their well being.
All was as it should be.
The End
Holy Moly. It is done. A two part project I started a year and half ago comes to an end. Its heady tonic, really, this was my greatest project for now. In that amount of time, I have basically written two full length books in terms of page length. I am pleased with how this turned out. I hope you all enjoyed the ride. Those of you who stuck by me from Phantom Files and have come on this journey, I thank you, and I look forward to reading your reviews.
I will see you all in the next project. I at last take my bow and leave.
The Emperor of the Multiverse is out. Peace.
