A little drabble about the latest episodes...
It's frighteningly easy to break someone's mind.
M'gann doesn't even have to try very hard. It takes the barest application of her mental abilities to rip what she wants from someone's mind and sometimes she has to sacrifice their sanity for the lives of innocents. There are few lines she wouldn't cross in order to keep Earth safe. She learned this hard lesson on Mars, in ways she will never tell another soul.
Connor doesn't understand. He watches her, concerned, half horrified at the drool dripping from the corner of the Krolotean's mouth. This is not the sweet girl he fell in love with- not the super heroine who would have let J'onn continue his own gradual interrogation, regardless of time wasted. He's afraid of this girl, who could take someone entire life away on a whim and split second decision. And he's grateful that M'gann wasn't there with him and Nightwing to face Kaldur- because he's so afraid of what she would have done.
Batman (watching, always watching) knows what she would have done, and he is grateful too.
