Terra was jotting down notes for the Inspector when her door opened. Terra smiled and without looking up, she spoke.
"Hello Basil, Have you ever heard of knocking?" Terra glanced over her shoulder to see the young detective standing in her doorway with his arms crossed and his famous smirk on his face.
"You've been working much more then usual." He said, disregarding her comment. Terra turned back to her work.
"That is because there were more bodies coming into the morgue." Terra said. "I don't know how, Basil." Basil frowned. He knew from the past few weeks that Terra was a hard worker, but she sometimes managed to push herself over the edge. Basil smiled slyly. He crept up to her desk and pulled the paper from under Terra's pen.
"Basil!" Terra exclaimed as he looked over the paper.
"The victim's skull was cracked, his spine shattered, fur bloody and torn as well as clothing..." Basil read aloud, making Terra glare at him. He shot a loop-sided grin in her direction.
"Basil, give it back!" Terra reached for the piece of paper, only to have it pulled from her reach. After Terra chasing the paper and Basil holding the paper out of her reach, he soon held it above his head. Terra was glaring a look that would have killed Basil if looks could kill.
"Basil, stop being such a child." Terra said glaring at him, Basil chuckled.
"You are not any better Terra. You have your childish moments." Basil said and Terra made a face. She grabbed a thick scarf that was in her reach and throw it at Basil's face. The scarf clung to his like wet paper and he was so surprised by the action that he lowered his arm. Terra gave a bell-like laugh as she snatched the paper out of his hand. Basil removed the scarf from his face and shot a look at Terra, who was laughing.
"And you were telling ME not to be so childish." Basil remarked and Terra grinned.
"Oh, have some fun. Life isn't about work all the time." Terra retorted. Basil rolled his eyes. Sometimes she was very childish for her own good. Terra's face then turned serious.
"Alright Basil, you need to leave me be." She said pointing at the door as she walked back to her desk.
"I thought life wasn't about working all the time." Basil said.
"Yes well, I need to finish this." Terra said, gently pushing him towards the door. "Now will you please leave, I am very busy."
"Alright, alright," Basil sighed, walking though the door. He winked before she closed the door.
"You can NEVER be too childish."
A/N: Well, I decided to post a Great Mouse Detective drabble cause I haven't posted anything in this fandom for a while. I've been focused more on my Class of the Titans,Yu-gi-oh, and AQ worlds fics. I thought that I needed to do a fic where Terra and Basil weren't so depressed, but more happy. I decided that she needed to have at least one person tense her a little bit. I thought it was cute how it came out. If anyone is wondering about the blanket, it's because I throw things at my sisters, neither to tense or annoy them. So hopefully you enjoyed it.
TTFN! (Ta-ta for now)
