Klaus woke up as soon as the soft light hit his face, still too sleepy to open his eyes all his other senses kicked him, the first thing he felt was the warm presence of his girlfriend -no, they were married now, his wife- in his arms and her sweet smell of lavender and the calming smell of vanilla at the same time, he wasn't sure who to thank if her shampoo or her.

Opening his eyes he took in the sight in front of him; his wife sleeping peacefully in front of him, with their fingers interlaced and the shinning silver rings in both of their index fingers. He almost couldn't believe they did it, they were married now.
There was a time he thought the idea to be impossible, but at the end...it had been rather easy. Hayley was emancipated, she was free to marry him if she wished and well...Mikael couldn't wait to get the bastard son out of his house, his only condition had been of course that Klaus gets a place to himself along with a job to sustain himself.

The wedding had been quite simple, they still had a flat to furnish after all, only their closest friends; Elijah, Rebekah, Kol, Davina, Marcel and Camille. And like in all the traditional wedding there had been something old -a ring owned by Klaus' deceased father-, something new -Rebekah and Elijah made sure to buy a similar ring to Hayley-, something blue -Hayley's shoes- and something borrowed -the wedding dress itself, that belonged to Cami's grandmother-.
Even Kol helped, making sure there were enough drinks -alchoolics at least- to them all and Davina convinced her friend Tim to play violin for them in the ceremony. And tonight...the prom, they both agreed that since they couldn't afford a proper reception the prom would have to do. After that...summer, 3 months just the two of them and a car traveling all over America, wherever they wanted, whenever they wanted, the epitome of freedom.

"Morning." Hayley's soft voice interrupting his thoughts, not that he minded at all. "Morning." he greeted her back and she leaned to give him a lazy kiss that he happily returned "We're married." she whispered, looking at their hands "Yes, we are Mrs Mikaelson." he whispered back, his step-father lastname didn't sound so bad when she was the one carrying it.

"Mmm...Klaus Marshall doesn't sound bad." she joked getting off beneath the sheets and Klaus tried to drag her back in bed "If I could I'd stay in bed all day with you." she said and he looked at her with a smirk and a mischievous gaze "Not only in the way you're thinking." she added rolling her eyes at him.

"But, I'm supposed to meet your sister in...half hour." Hayley finished, checking the time in her phone "My lovely little sister, I wonder who will she bring to the prom tonight." he said, as Hayley finally got up and headed to the bathroom. "I don't know. I think she hasn't been seeing anyone." Hayley said loudly from the bathroom "Probably the first boy that makes eyes at her will do." Klaus responded chuckling.

"Promise you'll behave, you know Elijah isn't coming to keep you in line." she said, opening the closet "Such faith in me, little wolf." he teased, sitting in the bed and she turned to face him with a smile "I'm serious, go easy on your sister. Or...there would be no surprise to you tonight." she said while getting fully dressed.

He looked at her with raised eyebrows and it didn't take her a second to know what was he thinking "You're worse than Kol!" she mockingly complained throwing him one of his shirts "Not that kind of surprise, but I think you'll like this one." she said, hiding her nervousness. "Do I get a hint?" he asked with a smirk.

"It's just something...I've been waiting til the right moment to tell you." she said walking over to the bed and kissing him goodbye "Don't stay in bed all day, remember you have to pick me up at Rebekah's." she reminded him "Love you." she added with a final and longer kiss and headed out.

Rebekah made an amazing job as the head of the decorating committee, the old boring gym looked...breathtaking. Everyone was dancing and having fun, not really unexpectedly Kol added some vodka to the punch, not enough for anyone to really notice the flavor but definitely enough to make them loose a bit.

"May I have a dance with my wife?" Klaus asked, interrupting Hayley's chat with Rebekah "Of course." Hayley said taking his hand and they both walked to the center of the dance floor, Rebekah rushed to the DJ and requested him -more like ordered him- to play the slowest song he had.

Klaus flashed a smile to his little sister and she answered him with a nod of her own "This is going to be our first dance as husband and wife." Hayley murmured in his ear as he wrapped his arms around her waist and hers circled his neck.

"Then let's make sure we remember it." he said pulling her closer and spinning her as she giggled "Trust me, you're going to remember this." she said licking her lips "Yeah?" Klaus said in a teasing tone pulling a little away to meet her hazel green eyes. "Remember this morning, I told you I had a little surprise for you." she said, more nervous every second.

"I remember you got away without giving me a proper hint." he said, leaning closer "Just...try not to faint, will you?" she said, seriousness in her voice "Why would I fa-" Klaus was asking when Hayley cut him off.

"I'm pregnant." she blurted out and they both stopped moving that second. Klaus' lips parted in surprise with a small gasp leaving them and Hayley was trying with all she had to read his thoughts...was he happy? shocked? afraid?
"Really?" he asked, his face not projecting any emotion and she nodded, not trusting her own voice, scared of what would happen next. But much to her relief, Klaus' lips formed a smile and he hugged her lifting her in the air once he put her down he kept kissing all her face as she giggled in pure joy.

"How long?" he asked in a whisper, though his happiness was clear even like that "Just a few weeks. Your sister is gonna kill me for not telling her this." Hayley joked and he pressed his lips into hers "She's gonna love this.ยท he murmured in their kiss. "Before we tell anyone, I want you to promise me something, Klaus." she said, looking at him directly with nothing but seriousness in her tone.

"Anything." he answered honestly "This is very, very, very important, do you understand?" Hayley said and he nodded "You must never, ever..." she said slowly, making sure he understood every single word.

"...let Kol babysit our child alone." she finished and he started laughing "I'm serious!" she tried to protest but she couldn't help but laugh along "I doubt Rebekah will let our child out of her sight once it's born anyway." Klaus said with fadding laugh and he kissed her again.
