A/N: Hallo again. Sorry that this took too long, but high school is fucking dizzying. Alright, I've got the next chapter, and I'm thinking about bringing Jack in, or maybe the Master. Tell me what you think. Thanks so much for reading!
"This really isn't right... we shouldn't be doing this!" the Doctor protested helplessly. Dean growled to himself. "If you want to see the love of your life, you're gonna see the love of your life." he demanded. The Doctor looked at him helplessly. "I - I do want to see her. You've no idea how much I'd love to see her."
"Then what the hell is the problem?"
"I - I can't. I shouldn't! She's got her own life now, and I don't want to ruin it for her by swanning in and taking it all away from her!"
"If she loves you like you love her, then it won't be ruined."
The Doctor started to try and protest again, but the Winchesters whirled him to face them and they looked at him darkly. "Listen, E.T. The both of us have lost someone very important to us, and had the same opportunity you do but we didn't take it. Okay? So you're not gonna make the same choices we did, and you're gonna go find her and you're gonna go see her." Dean snarled. The Doctor locked his eyes onto Dean's and analyzed what he was thinking. Girls... and someone else. This was fuzzy, he couldn't quite make it out, but he could see the color tan and the shadow of long, majestic wings. "Okay." he said finally, letting them drag him along. Sam relaxed his grip a little bit sympathetically, but Dean kept his fist like iron and pulled the Doctor along with fury. Perhaps cursing himself for not doing this a long time ago, when he could've. They finally arrived and the Winchesters climbed onto the porch, dragging the Time Lord behind them, and pushed him gently toward the door. He looked back at them imploringly, but they crossed their arms and their biceps bulged under all the plaid. The Doctor turned away from them and took a deep breath at the door, raising one long hand to knock on the door softly. He heard a high, all-too-familiar voice from beyond the expensive oak. "There's a sign, on the door, and it says 'No Soliciting'."
The door opened, but Jackie didn't look at him and continued talking. "I'm cooking and trying to take care of the children and I don't want to hear about any of your products, alright? D'you know whose house this is? This is Pete bloody Tyler's house, and we'll not have any of your - "
She stopped, eyes wide and strikingly blue, mouth hanging open in the middle of a half-formed word. She seemed to have seen the Doctor, and his face was drained pale. The thought of her was daunting, and he wished he could predict if she was going to hit him again. Suddenly, he saw her arm swing through the air and his cheek stung before he could stop her from hitting him. Her face was beet-red, her lips were tightly pursed, and her eyes were the size of fifty pence coins. "How dare you." she hissed. "Jackie - " he started to apologize, but a twitch of her hand was enough to silence him. "Don't start with me! I have had enough of you! First you swan in and take off with my Rose, then you desert her and me in some rotten dimension, and here you are again. Well, I'll tell you, you're not gonna come in and take this all away again, Doctor. We're happy here! Rose is happy! Don't you want her to be happy? If you really loved her, you'd want her to be happy!" Jackie squeaked, the pitch of her voice growing higher as she got more and more angry. The Doctor looked helplessly back at the Winchesters, who made semi-apologetic faces and shrugged. Jackie peered at them with slitted, suspicious eyes and then crossed her arms in front of her sizable chest. "Who the hell are they? Another bunch of yours, then?"
"No, Jackie, they're - "
"I don't want to hear it. Get the hell out of here before Rose sees - "
"Mum?" called Rose's voice from upstairs. Jackie fumed at the Doctor before turning and looking up, closing the door just enough so that Rose wouldn't see the Doctor. "Something wrong? Who's that out there?" Rose wondered. Jackie smiled sweetly, but her anger was still evident. "Oh, no one. What brought you out of your room, dear?" she wondered. Rose shrugged and started down the stairs. "I got hungry. We got anything to eat?"
"There's some roast in the fridge."
"You gonna join me?"
"In a minute. I've got to take care of this one out here."
Rose smiled widely and took a beeline for the door. "Is that Mickey? You can let Mickey in, Mum. It's not like he's not one of our family."
Jackie started to yell out protests but Rose was too quick and opened the door, staring straight into the hopeful face of the Doctor. She froze, still smiling, but it started to fade with the shock, and the Doctor wanted to panic. "Rose..." he croaked finally, his mouth suddenly dry. He couldn't tear his eyes from her. It had been so long since he'd seen her and he needed to take her image in again, refresh his memory of her. Her shimmering blonde hair, big brown puppy-dog eyes. He suddenly remembered her warmth against his body, her laugh, her smile... everything he'd ever missed. "D - Doctor?" she stuttered. He heard Jack tut and mutter about being right behind her, but he only wanted to hear Rose's voice. "Rose." he said, a little more firm with confidence that she didn't seem to completely hate him. Her smile suddenly widened and she leapt out of the house, wrapping him in his arms and making him stumble before the Winchesters came to his rescue and caught him. He held her just inches above the ground and then gently set her down. "It's so good to see you!" he cried. They hugged tightly again and Rose grabbed his hand, leading him inside. The brothers hesitated for a moment before following him, Sam dodging Jackie and Dean throwing her an anxious smile and avoiding her. She looked like she was about to strangle them all, but let them inside and slammed the door behind him, stalking into the kitchen. Rose sat the Doctor down and gripped his hands tightly. He didn't mind. The Winchesters stood awkwardly at the door and waited for Rose to notice them, and she smiled politely. "Oh, hello!" Her face suddenly fell. "Are these your new... companions, then?"
The Doctor hurriedly shook his head, squeezing her hands and scooting forward in his seat. "What? No! No, they're just some friends I met and promised to find them the perfect pie. It's only one trip." he promised. She shook her head, laughing lightly. "It's okay, Doctor; I'm alright with it. You don't have to travel alone just because I'm gone, right? I'm sure they're nice."
The Doctor smiled halfheartedly and Sam and Dean sat on one of the nice couches and folded their hands, looking around. "I - I don't know what to say! Again." the Doctor said quietly. "Start from the beginning. Start from after that day, okay?"
"And now I'm here." the Doctor finished with a huff of breath. Rose was quiet for a second, taking it all in, and then sighed. "Wow. That's... that's a lot. So this... Donna. She's taking a break, then? That's why you were alone when you met them?"
"Yes."
"You've collected quite a few companions while I was gone, then."
"No, Rose! It's not like that - none of them were like you."
"Doctor, s'alright. I'm happy for you. You moved on."
A pause. "Have you?" the Doctor wondered. Rose combed through her hair with her fingers and looked up. "Yeah. I've moved on. I still... I still love you, though."
He swallowed. "I, erm, I l - "
"Doctor! Rose! The other two! I've got pie made!" Jackie called. The Doctor cursed silently and Dean shot from his seat excitedly, rushing to the kitchen. Rose looked at the Doctor imploringly but he avoided her gaze and linked her fingers with his, gently pulling her to the kitchen where Jackie was already serving pie to Sam and Dean, who eyed the steaming caramelized apples with lust. He sat at the table and immediately started scarfing the food down, and abruptly spit it out almost as soon as it touched his tongue. "You call this pie?" he demanded gruffly up at Jackie. She looked down at him with her heavily mascara'd eyes and he went silent. "If you don't like it, you don't have to eat it." she said quietly. He nodded and looked down as he heard Sam snicker. "What the hell are you laughing at, hot shot?" Dean demanded. Jackie glared at him again. "Now, I won't be having that kind of language in my home! There's children about!"
The Doctor looked back at Rose. "Jackie, come off it. Rose isn't a child anymore."
"I wasn't talking about Rose, you quack! I was talking about Tony!"
"Oh. Right, yeah, where is Tony? I don't believe we've met." the Doctor said, scratching the back of his neck. Rose chuckled and shook her head. "No, you've not met him. Come on, then."
Dean and Sam anxiously waited at the front door of the Tyler estate. "I can't believe the Doctor used to go around space with her." Dean mumbled, keeping an eye on the kitchen. Sam laughed. "What, you're scared of her mother?"
"No, no, I'm not scared of her. She's... too mother-y."
"Oh, right. Yeah, sorry I missed out on that."
"Aw, come on, bro! She's a frickin' banshee!"
"You should be nice, or she might eat you." Sam mocked. Dean punched him in the arm and the Doctor and Rose came plodding down the stairs, chatting. "How old's he, then?" the Doctor was asking. Rose said an age quietly and the Doctor made a face. "It's been that long?"
She nodded and took him to the porch, where the Winchesters were waiting. "So... goin' to find the perfect pie, then?" Rose asked Dean. He smiled and nodded. "Yeah. The Doctor sorta owes us." he said. The Doctor laughed out loud, along with Sam. "I owe you? I'm the one that saved your lives! Humans." he muttered playfully. Rose laughed and gave him a kiss on the cheek before relinquishing grip of his arm and letting him go with the Winchesters. "Hey, wait a minute. Aren't you gonna... I dunno, go with the Doctor?" Sam wondered. Rose smiled softly and looked down at her tennis shoes. "I would love that, but I can't." she said. Sam and Dean both were about to ask why, but the Doctor put a hand on their shoulders, stopping them. "It's okay." he said quietly. They took one last look at Rose and turned away. The Winchesters doubted whether the Doctor should go without telling Rose his feelings, but they decided that was up to him.
A/N: Yeah... sorry about how long that one took! Ugh, I've been so swamped lately I haven't found the time to get on here and write this one. The other fanfics are easier because I've written We're All Going Mad already on Google Drive so I just pop in, copy and paste, and then pop out. Anywho... I don't really know where else to go with this one. I'm thinking they return to their own dimension and then Crowley pops in. Speaking of Crowley, I finished Season 9 of Supernatural on Netflix and it can't be bad that I ship Crowley/Dean, Crowley/Castiel, and Dean/Castiel now. Haha, no spoilers, though. Anyways, I would love if you could comment feedback and ideas for what I should do, because I'm going through a bit of writer's block at the moment. I'm going to post a new story but don't judge me for being a hypocrite because that one's pre-written too. Check it out. Not sure about a title yet, but I'll have one :)
As always, thanks a bunch!
