thanks for getting this far. you lucky bastards. thanks for sticking around. i love you all for being this attached to my stories. so it might be a small while before i can post the next chapter. dont worry after this week is winter break and i can post all i want. so i might decide to post the rest of this story. if you havent notcied it by now, i have been switching from Ru and Sky's POV, to Kazuma and Takeru's POV every chapter. and i try to get in both of their POVs in one chapter. sometimes its only one. so here it is the awaited chapter 9 of Light will always follow darkness. hope you enjoy. i dont own Fairy Tail only the OCs and the awesome story. review if you like, i would love to hear from you. Kazuma's POV

It has been two weeks since the search went cold. Neither me nor Takeru have stopped looking for them. But every time we would think we got close to finding them their trail would get cold. I was starting to despair.

We had already searched the island three times. But the second time we went back the whole place was burnt to ashes. I asked Luna about it since she was the last one on the island. She confessed that she burned the place down.

She had searched the whole place and couldn't find anything. She even confessed that she had a brief conversation with the kidnapper. I was astonished. "Couldn't you have asked him where in Fiore he was?" I yelled at her.

She shrugged, "I think he had pissed his pants already when I told him about how he would die. I'm so looking forward to it."

Her words sent shivers up my spine. 'This girl is seriously messed up in the head.' I thought to myself.

"When will your familiar get back?" Takeru asked, "It's been two weeks since you said you sent it after the scent from those boats."

Luna shrugged, "I don't know myself, it may be my familiar but sometimes it goes a little too into whatever I tell it."

Takeru sighed as he sipped his beer. I sighed from my seat nearby. We were both worried sick. We didn't get much sleep in the past weeks. If anyone looked at us they might think we're zombies. We both had bags under our eyes and we lacked energy.

I mumbled something in Japanese. I was getting tired, and growing desperate. Suddenly I saw something out of the corner of my eye slither by and to Luna. She reached out her hand and it slithered up. I shivered and so did Takeru.

I disliked snakes, they creeped me out. Luna raised it to her face calmly, "did you find anything?" she asked.

The snake bobbed and weaved and slide its tongue in and out. It hissed a few times as well. Luna looked grim. "That's what took you." She whispered.

She stood up and went over to a wall. Everyone heard her curse loudly and punch the wall. A hole appeared. "Are you okay Luna?" Lucy asked.

Luna didn't reply. She just walked to the door and left. Me and Takeru followed her. "Luna, what happened?" I asked her. "You suddenly exploded." Takeru added.

Luna spun on her heels. Her eyes were like that of the snake. Narrowed and deadly. "Gather the group, now!" she ordered in a hiss.

Takeru got on it. In minutes the group was together including Gold. "We have to hurry." Luna said, "Pisau, did find the base. It took him a few days to get there. He found them."

My heart lifted a little. "But they're in bad, unstable condition. Especially Skylar." Luna added. My heart sank and skipped a beat. "We need to hurry and save these girls or there will be nothing left for us to save."

I nodded in agreement. "We leave in an hour." Luna announced, "Meet at the train station. Anyone late by only a second will be left behind."

And with those final words she disappeared in a streak of darkness. I looked at the others. Takeru looked grim, but in his eyes I saw courage. Natsu seemed to be fired up. And the rest all looked ready. Forty minutes later we were all assembled at the train station.

Ten minutes later Luna appeared with the train tickets, rope, Pisau, a knife, a first aid kit, two bottles of water and duct tape. "Hold those for me kid." She told me throwing me the first aid kit, knife, and water.

Luna put the duct tape in her pocket and handed the tickets to Erza. Pisau wrapped itself around her neck loosely. Luna turned to Natsu who was mumbling that he didn't want to get on. Quick as light she had him tied up.

The train whistle blew signaling the train. We all boarded the train, Luna dragging Natsu aboard. And at exactly four o'clock pm the train pulled off and we were on our way to save our comrades.

Takeru's POV

As the train pulled off I had a sinking feeling. I couldn't shake it. I just felt in my gut that something bad was going to happen. I don't know what but it would leave all of us shocked. I stared at the window, in a daze.

I imagined Ru's face when I came to save her. Her smile that I loved spread across her face as she leapt into my arms. But I almost didn't see it that way. I was pretty sure it wouldn't be as warm a welcome.

I felt a punch on my arm. I looked and saw Luna looking at me. "Get some rest." She instructed. I didn't feel tired. "I'd rather stay awake." I answered, "I'm not tired."

She motioned around her. The others were all asleep. They all must have been either really tired or knocked out by Luna. I saw that Gray and Natsu had a huge knot on the side of their heads. Lucy laid on Natsu, and Natsu laid by the window. Even Erza had fallen asleep.

Luna looked at me, "Why are you so set on trying to find Ru?" Luna asked, "You haven't known her as long as I had."

I shrugged, "in the past five months since I married her, I got to know her more and more. And now I see her as more than a wife." Luna just looked at me, "Like what?" she asked. "As a best friend like you do. I find her presence comforting and enjoyable. When she's there it's like the world has gotten a little bit brighter. She brings warmth to those around her." I said in a daze.

"What are you a poet?" Luna asked. I laughed lightly, "I work and live in a bookstore, I get that a lot." She shrugged, "Ru seems to be even happier thanks to you." Luna huffed, "it gets on my nerves."

Then she turned to me, "but at least someone is there with her besides me." she punched me playfully in the arm. I rubbed it, "What do you lift each day boulders?" I asked her.

She shook her head no, "No I punch boulders and bench trees. It's an easier grip on trees than rocks."

'You're one strange girl Luna." I spoke truthfully. She shrugged, "That's the lightest anyone has ever commented." She said quietly.

I looked confused, "what did they call you before?" I asked. She looked the other way, "I'd rather not talk about it."

I shrugged, "okay, not my business to know anyway." We remained silent. I pulled out a book and started reading it. Luna pulled out a cloth and an ax and started polishing that. "Um, how did you and Ru become friends anyway?" I asked. I had always wanted to know.

She put the ax away and turned to me, "it's a long story." I sat and waited for her to tell me. But she didn't. "Story short, she found me in a town, followed me, I sent her to hell, and we became friends after a hospital visit." She said hotly.

I backed off, "wow." I said. She nodded, "but without her, I probably would have been dead. Since I meet her, I've felt that I had to protect her, or at least keep her from doing something stupid like this."

Then Luna turned to me fire dancing in her eyes, "Don't tell anyone I told you this okay? If you do I swear on my life I will murder you over and over again and make you feel agony beyond that of hell got it?" a dark aura formed with every word.

I nodded scared out my wits. She then smiled, "good now go to sleep. You need it." Then she punched me hard in the nose and I blacked out.
