Hello it's Kazama again and I am sorry I didn't update around New Years and Christmas. I finally met my cousin who left in the army to be MP to a policeman. Eight years to be exact, but it was worth it seeing him again. Also I realize everyone else was posting up their stories around the Christmas Time and New Years. I decided to hold back posting the chapter and redo it as well. It was a little bland from what my brother said, so I decided to spruce it up. This chapter is a little shorter than the rest you had so far. I wanted to at least… I won't spoil it for you. The title will do all the talking for me. I want to thank everyone who read the last chapter, a total of eight reviews. It also bumped the story 10,014 views, 85 favorites, 47 reviews, and 117 alerts. Thank you all for the support despite it not being perfect story to everyone tastes.
…
Han-Ko- Thank you for nice comment; I hope I keep the quality of the story up.
lincoln time- You are correct Link was holding back in the fight. Personally he has the experience and tactics. He is still adjusting to this world and it how it redefined his magic power. He doesn't have that power he once willed when he obtained the master sword, but… I let the chapter explain a few things. The Triforce to me is the embodiment of his courage and the Triforce is a circuit in a way. It will play a part of the story, but the problem many of the Triforce wielders had was the fact they abused it. Zelda got overconfident in her ability to use it. She couldn't use it properly in a fight. Ganondorf turned to wrath incarnate of power. Hence Link doesn't want to use it since its not real skill. Of course it can boost his powers actively and heal him when he needs it. Link is portrayed of using it passively rather actively.
Hence real skill saves the day unlike the Triforce.
ultima-owner- Mordred isn't evil, but his hatred got the best of him. Time is a very cruel thing and if you ever played Bio-shock infinite. It shows Elizabeth from the future was just a shell of her former person. Navi is a sight for sore eyes… fairies in Earthland is just a myth. I will explain more about it.
Libby8980- Yes Navi is back and she will play a role in future chapters or original story arcs. Now that she has a form of a woman it will just be plain awkward to see her running around with only a skirt. Also scolding Link for being reckless and absent minded.
JMW- Navi is a great fairy, I based her off the Twilight princess version. After this fight with Mordred people will start to notice Link more. Mirajane does seem like a good pick since they can relate to each in other in many ways. Truthfully Hisui pairing has never actually done before in crossovers properly. I only see four stories and it doesn't look like she is the main pairing in the story. From what I can see the stories are just Naruto ones.
I will not choose as Erza as a pairing since it's overused. It practically dominates the Fairy Tail Crossover section, if you just put Erza in the search engine. It will come up 412 that might contain Erza in it as the pairing. It's all subjective, but I know for a doubt there are more Erza stories combined then Lucy and Mirajane as a pairing.
Dragonspirit996- Thank you for review and here goes another chapter for you to enjoy.
Nightfrightpony- I will try to shorten the chapter's down so I can pump out some good content for everyone.
ShotaroxPhillip- What's next you say… read the chapter a bit to see what might be next. Personally it might be Link being knighted. Plus get some sleep staying up to 5:26 messes with your biological clock. One time I slept through the whole day.
Now without distracting you anymore I hope you all enjoy this new chapter. I hope you all read and review so I can at least pump out a new chapter in a reasonable time limit. If you feel like I should speed up the story say so or explain more about Link's past. I would to know your input about in a review along with the chapter. This is Kazama signing out!
Hero of Time
Link's eyes fluttered open weakly as he heard a familiar voice. "Navi…" Link muttered as he got up.
He heard a giggle coming from behind him as he turned to see a woman with ethereal celestial wings. He saw several fairies' dancing around the two of them.
"Hello, are you the Great Fairy, do you know where Navi is?" Link asked her.
Navi playfully bopped him on his head. "I'm Navi silly," She replied. Link looked shocked at this revelation. Navi was about to say something to him, she was cut off by a hug from him.
"It is you! I didn't think you would show up! You look really pretty in your new form too." Link excitedly admitted.
Navi blushed as she patted his head. "You do realize I am not wearing a shirt…" Navi told him. Link stopped his hug…
*BAM*
He was knocked to ground with magic empowered fist on the head. "You are not supposed to stare at a girl's chest you idiot!"
Link rubbed his head from the pain. "Sorry, but you were the one who brought it up." Link apologized.
"It's okay… besides that why were you holding back against him. You could have beaten him if you managed to go all out." Navi scolded him.
"Sorry, but I get this weird feeling from him. I don't feel like my normal self at all." Link admitted.
Navi sighed. "It's this world's dimension throwing you off. The thing that you made you strong there isn't here. Your magic container also changed to act like the Earthland mages, but you won't die if yours hits zero. I know you still have the "Triforce of Courage" still and yet you don't use it to your advantage. Why are not using it to your full advantage?" Navi asked him.
"Farore said that the Triforce wasn't my real strength and I should not use it lightly." Link told her.
Navi nodded. "True, but it's powered the Triforce itself is powered by your courage and willpower. I can see you feel sorry for him seeing he resembles you in a way. He went out to save his Kingdom only to be left to die. Mordred made a deal with a demon to save his people, but he was never recognized for his efforts." Navi explained as patted his head. "Mordred is not like you Link; he is blinded by his hate."
"Why did you leave me, Navi?" Link asked her.
Navi opened her mouth for a second and then stopped. She looked down at Link's blue eyes and she looked at him stoically.
"You didn't need me anymore…" Navi admitted as she noticed the look of confusion on Link's face.
"I never said that…" Link muttered.
Navi turned her head away. "Link you do realize you are not a Kokiri, right?" Navi asked him.
"Of course, the Great Deku Tree told me about my heritage." Link answered her.
"I am not supposed to be bonded to Hylians', Link. There is a reason why we can't do that. Kokiri are always children and they never have desires like ordinary men and women. A long time ago, man hunted fairies for their abilities to grant miracles and heal wounds. An example to this is the fact that Earthland's people hunted fairies down to the point any fairies we were called a myth within a century. Since we fairies are called Myths now, it has kept us safe. The Queen of Fairies sent me here to help restore other fountains in Earthland since it's safe to do so now. I was really surprised to find out you came to Earthland looking for me. Without me guiding you around you really are reckless you know." Navi pointed out as Link smiled.
"I wanted to say at least goodbye or ask if I can see you again." Link admitted as Navi giggled.
"You reckless courageous idiot… you know how to make a girl feel special." Navi thanked him.
Link smiled and then his eyes opened up in realization. "Mordred…" Link muttered. He tried getting up, but he felt a hand grab his. He looked back down to see Navi was holding him back. "I am not letting you go and get beaten again for being sentimental." Navi lectured him.
"I can beat him." Link told her.
"You have the ability to beat him, but with your current mindset that is not possible at this moment." Navi lectured him as she let of his hand. "Link, you sympathize… no you can relate to that man who turned demon. You were both swallowed up by fate and it was unfair."
Link stopped and frowned. "I…"
"You want the ability to fight fate and protect the people you know. I understand helping people, but you were never considered a hero. I think you can relate to him because you were both being used. He was thrown away by his king by his own selfish desires. You on the other hand were treated like a tool by Zelda." Navi explained.
"I am not a tool!" Link shouted as he calmed down. "I wanted…"
Link became quiet as Navi sighed.
"Link, why didn't Zelda go forth and collect the "Spiritual Stones herself," Navi asked the young swordsman.
"I don't know…" Link answered.
"You were a boy who came out of the forest barely knowing anything about the world. She obviously knew where to go and she had the trust of the Goron and Zora people on her side. She obviously knew about the Hero spirit that resided in you as well. She took advantage of such a thing along with her visions." Navi explained.
"Hero's spirit…" Link muttered.
"Link, I didn't know why Zelda's bloodline was so important until I asked the Queen of Fairies about it. It was simply the fact that her ancestor was the reincarnated form of the Goddess Hylia. All girls born in the Royal family are all called Zelda. They all inherit incredible magical powers, which helped create the "Era of Prosperity". Your ancestor on the other hand was reincarnated form of a Chosen Hero's Spirit. He had unbreakable spirit and great courage that most men didn't have. He ended up dying, but his soul was transferred into your ancestor as well bloodline. With Zelda's help she gave your ancestor the means to help slay the demon called "Demise". The demon cursed the Hero's spirit and Zelda's bloodline vowing to end it with his hatred." Navi explained.
"I still don't understand why this is still important." Link confusedly told her.
Navi sighed. "The Goddess bound the Hero's spirit to her. As long as the Royal bloodline exists the spirit will continue to exist. Every incarnation will continuously fight for Hylia's decedents' and Hyrule itself." Navi explained fully.
Link's eyes widen up. "No… I," Link muttered.
Navi nodded. "You are correct; the spirit influenced your actions to undertake her selfish request. Truthfully the fight with Ganondorf isn't finished, Link until Zelda's bloodline dies. As long Zelda lives the Hero's spirit will keep coming back as well Ganon. Farore noticed your choices have never been affected by the spirit residing in you. Apparently you haven't awakened his inside you yet unlike the others. The journey in Termina proved you can do the job without his influence. Your resolve was stronger than the hero that resided in you. The mask Oni represents… you."
Link's eyes widen up in shock as he shook his head. "What, that can't be right?" Link asked her.
"If Termina is a parallel world of Hyrule, it can only infer that your ancestor was a god. The mask was a mere remnant of his mortal shell. It had the power to break the curse over you, but the overall problem still resides."
"So what Farore told me was true?" Link asked Navi.
Navi nodded. "That is correct as long as you stay in Hyrule you never had a real future. No one else had a real future and they couldn't deny their own fates. As long as you stay in Fiore…" Navi explained.
Link's eyes blinked as he formed a small smile and closed his eyes.
"I see now… I should express my gratitude for help saving me, Farore."
"What are you smiling for?" Navi playfully bopped his head breaking Link out of his train of thought. "You still need to focus for your battle with Mordred."
Link nodded. "Since I am heading off to battle, do you have any tips for me?" Link asked her.
She nodded. "I have a few things in mind, but listen carefully. I will only explain it only once and then I need to head back to the fountain to handle some affairs. It will take some time before I can visit you again in person." Navi explained as Link nodded. He listened to her advice as Mordred advance towards the castle.
…
Mordred walked past the royal garden sighing as bodies littered the ground. He saw a final barrier surrounding the castle, except it had extra wards unlike the last one he encountered.
He began rewriting the seals with his sword. He noticed several knight fleeing and leaving their comrades behind.
He turned around and sighed. "The knights of today are pitiful and they have no honor. They don't have the camaraderie the old order had," Mordred drifted off as he smiled. "I miss you guys…"
Mordred drifted off into his thoughts as he worked on the seal.

Three Hundred Centuries ago
Fiore, Crocus
Castle Entrance
10:00 AM
A woman was walking through the garden of the castle tending flowers. She was a slim, petite young woman. She has light, green hair that was tied up in a braid. Her jade eyes studied the flowers as she smiled seeing them grow properly. She wore a shin-length green dress with a white trim. She wore a white silk overcoat over her dress to help bring out her hair color and eyes. She also wore brown boots and simple silver bracelets.
She waved her hands over the flowers as small blue magical circle appeared. Small water droplets rained over the flowers as she hummed cutely.
She heard the shifting sound of armor clanking down the cobblestone. She turned to see a young man carrying his self in a regal and respectful attitude. A man she noticed a man with brown hair and blue eyes was walking towards her. He wore lightweight clothing under with the anklet symbol underneath the steel armor he wore a steel chest plate bound to his chain-mail armor. The armor covered the necessary areas like his hands, arms, outer thighs, legs, and feet.
She smiled and wave hello to him as he did the same thing as her. "Good Morning Mordred, I wasn't expecting you to skip out on meeting up with Sir Walter this morning. I heard it was really important." The woman explained.
Mordred scratched his head as he pulled out a small box from his armor pouch. "Well it wasn't important as you, Cheryl, Happy Birthday." Mordred told her as his face was flushed.
She blushed as she took the box gratefully. "My birthday… all this time I forgot about it and you still remembered it for me." Cheryl explained as she hugged him. "Thank you for the gift!"
He hugged back her as he chuckled. "You haven't seen the gift I gave you silly. I did my best to pay for it without resorting to stealing." Mordred told her. He pulled her out the hug as he looked at her opening the box. She saw a ruby necklace with a gold chain. She looked shocked as a blush grew on her face.
"Mordred, you shouldn't have…" Cheryl muttered.
"It matters little to the woman I love." Mordred told her. He was cut off by a kiss as he embraced her.
The two heard hand clapping from a distance as they broke apart. They saw a man with brown and eyes sitting there. He rubbed his beard with amusement. "You are always on time when she asks something of you. Maybe I should just relay my orders through her since you listen so greatly to her my squire." The man told them.
Cheryl did quick bow. "I am sorry for delaying Mordred Sir Walter!" Cheryl apologized.
Walter waved it off. "Cheryl my name may be Walter De Gray, but you can call me Wally like usual. For my squire here, that would be okay to say Sir Walter." Walter told her.
Mordred walked up to him front and center. "Sorry Sir Walter…" Mordred apologized.
"Well I told King Arthur you would be late since it was her birthday after all. I may be your teacher, but after today we will be brothers in arms now." Walter told him.
"I am to being knighted?" Mordred asked him with hope.
Walter smirked and nodded. He pulled out a book from his pouch and handed it to Mordred. "Mordred, since you are trying to make a future with the girl you love. It's appropriate that I give a book detailing the secrets magical arts we employ. It has special tactics, monster info, and tips to train a student one day." Walter explained.
Mordred felt shocked. "You are giving me this; I thought this was passed down from you're…" Mordred asked him.
"I know, my ancestor created this book and others in my family have written in it. I know for a fact that you will pick out a great student with great promise one day. Now, I have an excuse to become the best man for your wedding now." Walter joked as the two blushed.
"Thank you sir," Mordred muttered.
"Come now, we can't keep the king waited and after this. There will be a big party in the hall soon after the ceremony. Cheryl can you meet us in the dining hall after the ceremony." Walter asked her.
Cheryl nodded. "Of course, let me finish tending the plants first." Cheryl told her.
"Come on lover boy," Walter motioned him. Mordred sent his book into his pocket dimension.
The two walked through castle to see knights lined up along the hallway. Mordred felt uneasy as he saw it was dark. Paintings and nice furniture didn't calm his nerves.
Walter opened the doors of the chamber as he allowed him in first. He saw nothing at first as he walked in as the door shut behind him. Giant blue circle with a purple edge appeared in the room. Several knights sat there pointing their swords upwards.
Arthur held a gold sword in hand as he stood on an altar. "Step forward Squire," Arthur told him.
Mordred walked up to Arthur and kneeled. The knights lowered their sword pointing it towards the ground.
"Mordred Pendragon, by the right of the order and ordained by God I dub thee Rune Knight of the order."
Arthur waved the sword across his shoulders. He pulled away as magic circle appeared on Mordred's back. Mordred turned around to see a red cape appear on his back. It had the capital's symbol in gold.
"Thank you for the honor," Mordred thanked him. The sound of cheering came around the room from the others.
"It was a small thing, but you need to train diligently, becoming a rune knight is a dangerous business." Arthur told him.
"Yes your majesty…" Mordred replied.
…
Mordred snapped out of his thoughts as he walked in the throne room.
"I thought remember those old days… it seems my demon friend merged with me. I thought I wasn't human still." Mordred thought.
Mordred frowned as he looked around the room to see it was immaculate and luxurious. He saw a short man who sat at the throne wearing a red royal cape over his clothes. He also wore a regal red and gold crown on his head as he looked down at Mordred.
A little girl with green hair and green eyes around Link's age stood beside him. She wore a white regal dress with sandals as she look scared to see him.
An old, hunched man with a pair of big ears, hammer shaped eyebrows, and a scar on the left side of his face. He wears a dark cap that covers most of his forehead, a light colored robe under a dark vest and a simple pair of shoes for footwear.
"Where are your knights and rune knights to protect you now, descendant of Arthur E. Fiore?" Mordred asked mockingly.
"You cut them off from us using a barrier and your cursed miasma cloud you fiend. To think you were a proud knight once is quite shocking." The old hunched man scolded him.
"I believe introductions are needed before we continue. My name is Mordred Pendragon the former knight of this kingdom. You must know by now your ancestor betrayed me for the love of my life. That wasn't only thing that ticked me off you know." Mordred introduced with a bow.
"I know my ancestor has wronged you by listening to demons, but taking it out on us solves nothing." The king told him.
"This does solve something!" Mordred bellowed as shockwave came from him shook the castle. Scaring the little girl as the two men flinched. Mordred pointed his sword at the king. "You are unable to protect this Kingdom with those weak knights and pretend rune knights. You let mages of today outshine the knights. All the knights you produced looked pathetic unable to protect anything. Your ancestor Arthur destroyed the order! If it was just me, I will gladly die to protect them and the people. Yet that snake sent most of the order there just to be ambushed, he crippled the Kingdom from growing into something great!"
The king closed his eyes. "So this isn't just about my ancestor sealing you and taking your beloved one. If you are going to kill someone kill me, Toma E. Fiore if that satisfies you. Don't harm my little jewel, Hisui. She is only thing I consider more precious than my life." Toma suggested getting up from his throne.
Mordred shook his head. "No deal, you both have to go to make sure the country can thrive again. You are both unqualified to run this kingdom in my opinion. A council of people will come and take your place in due time. Then the people themselves will decide their own future without a dictator." Mordred told them.
"You are going to kill us both," Hisui muttered. "Just for being his descendants, just because we remind…"
A burst of dark energy shot around him. "Don't you dare finish that sentence girl?" Mordred threatened her.
"Where is Arcadios?" Hisui shouted in fear.
"He is stuck outside the barrier with most of his troops." Mordred explained.
"What is this madness, revenge or justice?" Darton asked him.
"A bit of both I presume-" Mordred was cut off by icy mist. He looked around a bit confused. "What is this?"
Ice spikes erupted from the ground. Mordred jumped into the air to avoid them. He looked at the doorway to see a blinding light hit him in his chest.
The surge of light stunned and erupted around the arrow tip. He landed as he saw white blur jump forward to slash him. He raised his sword to block the attack. The person parried and slashed through him creating ice that poured in his wound.
Mordred quickly turned around quickly performed a jump slash down on his opponent. His opponent slashed upwards blocking it. Mordred swung underhand only to see it being blocked as well. He slashed again only to see it blocked again as he grunted in frustration.
Mordred placed his sword on his back as he reared back. Dark aura covered his fist posing to strike.
Mordred's opponent reared his sword back to stab as a holy light enveloped the sword. The two charged forward as their attacks hit each other making a shock wave.
Mordred was pushed back from the force as he looked at his fist. He saw it was bleeding as he looked at the warrior in front of him with shock.
"He actually wounded him." Darton muttered in shock.
"This is great fight… I mean this is quite fortunate." Toma cheered as Hisui looked onwards.
"So the hero arrives to save the day? Don't you ever give up?" Mordred asked Link.
Link requip his Goddess Sword, sending Yukianesa into his pocket dimension. He pointed his blade at him.
"It will take more than that to get rid of me. I should have gone all out earlier when I had the chance." Link admitted. Mordred stayed silently. "This time I will end you."
Mordred cracked his neck as he drew his sword again. "It seems you are more focused this time. Very well, Link Kokiri I accept your challenge." Mordred offered.
Link raised his sword up high in the sky as his sword gleam. He quickly placed a magic rune on the blade with the word 'retain'.
"You have the first move," Link offered.
"Very well," Mordred shouted. He ran forward towards Link. Dark energy enveloped his sword. Two clashed blades as Mordred looked shocked to see demon magic fading. Link slid under the blow revere gripping the blade slashing through his armor.
Mordred jump back waving his sword. "Dead Spike!" he bellowed out.
Dark carnivorous beast head ran towards Link. He barred his shield to block it.
"Dodge it," Hisui shouted.
The blow bounced off his shield knocking back into Mordred cutting into him. Link thrust forward into the air. A beam of sacred of energy slammed straight in Mordred knocking him out of the throne room.
Link flicked his sword as light traveled after making after effects.
"What just happened? He is beating the demon around with ease?" Darton asked him.
A wave of dark miasma flew into the throne room. Mordred walked in chuckling at Link. He inspected the shield he now wore. It was a decagon shaped shield with a picture of an "unhappy face" upon it. "Interesting, you have a reflective magic shield, so you were holding back last time." Mordred laughed.
Link took his stance against him. Mordred charged forwards attacking Link. This time he swung his sword only to hit air. Link bobbed and weaved out of the blows. He occasionally used his shield to block Mordred's demon slayer magic.
Link bashed his shield against the flat of the sword and rolled in semi-circle pattern around him. He jumped slashing him in the back. Holy energy burned Mordred, the black knight turned around to punch Link.
Link raised up his sword arm as energy shield block his move. He grunted in fear as Link slashed past his guard. Mordred created a rune magic shield to block Link's attack.
Mordred swung his blade down on Link. "Game over!"
"Not yet!" Link shouted.
A blue diamond barrier appeared over Link's body. Mordred slammed his sword full force into the barrier. Link shifted and shattered the barrier into tiny blue crystals. Mordred was knocked back into the wall. Mordred waved his hand as dark miasma covered Link's body.
Link quickly spun around swinging his sword dispersing the miasma. He saw Mordred pulling himself out of the wall. "What a troublesome magic and weapons you have?" Mordred commented. "A holy sword that is more powerful than your old one. A reflective shield that can bounce back projectile magic attacks… this Goddess magic is very destructive compared to my demon slayer magic."
"The last spell was called Nayru's love, an impenetrable barrier, but it's takes a lot of energy to keep it up for prolonged periods." Link explained.
"Goddess magic, I never heard of that before?" Hisui muttered. "I only heard of God slayer before."
"It seems if I have to get rid of you quick if I want to have my revenge. Be honored only worthy foes have seen my Demon slayer secret art." Mordred told him running towards Link.
"Secret art…" Link muttered.
"Demon Slayer Secret Art: Black Onslaught!" Mordred shouted. His sword extended into scythe as blood energy blade formed on the opposite side the blade resided. Mordred strike Link as he tried blocking the attack with his shield. Mordred hook the blade into skin cutting into him as he ripped the shield from his arm.
Link raised his sword up calling down scared energy. "Goddess Magic: Skyward Strike!" Link shouted.
Holy energy came down and enveloped the Goddess sword enveloping the sword with light. Link quickly swung back countering each of his blows.
"There is no hell, only darkness!" Mordred slashing at Link only to see each strike blocked.
Mordred pulled back as dark energy formed around him. Small blast of energy blasted forward as Link made Rune magic shield to block it.
"Nightmare edge, destruction," Mordred shouted. He slammed a huge wave of dark energy down on Link.
*Boom*
As an explosion ripped the castle open revealing the city that was covered by miasma. Blood scythe turned back into its blade form. "Not a single trace remains…"
The three spectators looked in fear. "He killed him…" Hisui muttered in fear
"That was powerful; the boy's attack was matching him blow for blow for a moment." Toma told him.
Mordred felt a surge of magic coming his way. He turned around to see a huge fireball coming his way. Mordred turned around trying to block it.
A fiery explosion went off knocking Mordred screamed in pain. He fell to his knee as Mordred's armor started to fall to ground as molten metal. Link ran over to pick up his shield mirror of the ground. He attached to left arm as he switched his sword to his right now. He flipped his sheath around to match his efforts. He turned to see a blur of white coming towards him. Link flicked his sword up parrying the object. He managed to knock away from him as he realized that was Mordred's sword blood-scythe.
"I see… you are throwing your blade because it was too big to swing around. Your armor is now useless thanks to my spell." Link told him.
Mordred walked out of from the smoldering armor cracking his neck. Mordred now wore lightweight clothing like the rune knights he saw earlier. He wore a steel chest plate bound to his chain-mail armor. Link noticed the armor covered most of his body now.
He now wore a red cape with the symbol of Fiore was printed in gold on his back. His eyes stopped glowing red as they turned to blue eyes. Mordred requip a silver sword with a gold cross hilt. He stared at Link and smiled deviously.
"Are you surprised to see my human form?" Mordred asked him.
Link nodded. "Of course not, that was the only reason why you were resistant to holy items and sites." Link explained.
"I sealed away the demon to eliminate my weakness to your holy type magic. Demon slaying Magic was meant to just slay demons not human beings. Now I will use everyone ounce of my natural ability to kill you, Link."
"If you sealed your demon powers away that means the miasma over the town is gone, now." Link asked him.
"That is correct, but you should worry about yourself first, Link." Mordred warned Link. Mordred spun his sword and slammed it down on the ground. A rune appeared under him as runes trailed up his body. Rune began to make some type of armor and field around his whole body like a secondary armor.
"What is this?" Link asked him.
"Rune armor creates an effective defense for me. It a barrier that acts like your shield in a way, but it deflect blows away. The other neat feature is the fact it can distort magic and nullify if it isn't strong enough." Mordred explained as he ran towards Link with great speeds.
Link ran forward clashing blades with him as Mordred smirked. Link finally slashed him only to see resistance. Link slide his sword down across the rune armor. Light flickered off the barrier knocking him back. Link saw blood come from his hands as Link quickly looked up in shock.
Mordred grabbed Link by the throat and picked him off the ground. "Impressive isn't it!" he shouted. He threw him up and quickly elbowed Link in the stomach. The blow sent Link crashing into the wall. Mordred flicked his hands forward as rune swords formed in the air. "Go my magic blades pierce him!"
Link looked up to see Rune blades come towards him. Link raised his shield to bat some of the swords away. He jumped to his right avoiding the volley of swords.
"His hand is bleeding." Hisui noticed.
"Wondering what is wrong Link?" Mordred asked him.
"I didn't use enough force to break it…" Link muttered.
Mordred nodded. "Correct, you are a sharp one after all. Whenever two magical energies collide, the weaker one gets pushed down. Its' forced to submit and it gets hurt. While you're magical energy may have been enough to hone that sword of yours for the purpose of slaying your enemies. It's nowhere near strong as my magical energy that oozes from me and my armor." Mordred asked him.
"It seems you are correct about my strength," Link muttered as he wiped his bloody hand on his cape.
"You are still far too young to fight me, though I have to admit you are skilled for someone so young. To make me suppress the demon inside of me is quite an achievement itself. Give it up and walk away from here Link. I won't slay someone as honorable and noble as you." Mordred told him. He stabbed his sword in the ground.
"Why are you doing this? The demon was never controlling you at all." Link asked the Rune Knight.
"Simple, you never heard the real story from Arthur then. I was really surprised that Arthur left a thought projection back at the ruins I was sealed in. He also gave you the knowledge of our order's magic, skills, and monster knowledge. It was my book after all to give to a worthy apprentice after all. I chose you as the living legacy of our order for their sake."
"Their sake…" Link muttered in confusion.
"Link; do you know what happened to the order?" Mordred asked him. Link shook his head. "I see then, Arthur was still a coward to even admit that to you even in death. He destroyed the order and it left only a handful of rookies to stop me."
"Rookies," Link muttered in curiosity.
"Still confused I see. You are wondering why there is no information on how the order actually fell." Mordred turned to Toma with a frown. "His ancestor controlled the truth through information control. It wasn't just the fact he married the love of my life… I can understand why she would do that. Cheryl thought I was just another demon running around the country absorbing the strength of other demons to get stronger. Arthur took credit of my achievements of slaying the demons that plagued Fiore! When I woke up I wanted more answers on what exactly transpired centuries ago. I took a look at the public library and then the royal library to see the same thing. Even he cannot deny the fact that Arthur wronged so many people."
Toma dropped his head with sadness. "I know what my ancestor did, but I can't change the past." Toma told him.
"Maybe not, but the way you are running things has been questionable already. You let several injustices run amok in Fiore the country that I loved greatly. Children being kidnapped, towns destroyed, dark guilds running amok, and the country stuck on magic alone as a main trade. Now you pretend knights and rune knights running around now. They can't even do the job of one apprentice rune knight in the past. The fact you all forget how kings are truly made is sad…" Mordred berated Toma.
"It's true he hasn't done much let alone the Magic Council to help protect the people. We are all living through dark days in a way. There is no doubt there is more to come. But it's the good and great men who stand up for others like us, when others turn and run. I made a promise to stop you once and for all. I am not letting them kill unless you kill me first." Link told him.
Mordred picked up his sword with a more determined look. "Since you are so determined, it was impolite of me to dissuade you. I apologize for that, very well then. If the swords fall on you I will have no regrets." Mordred told Link.
He charged forward as Link closed his eyes.
"Oh Goddess of Time, I beseech your help yet again. I took your power for granted when I used the Ocarina of Time." Link thought.
"What are you doing?" Hisui shouted in shock.
Mordred jumped as he slashed downwards towards Link.
"Please allow me to be the hero I was once before being sent back into the past."
"It's over!" Mordred slashed down. Link raised his sword to block the attack.
Shockwave resounded throughout the room as Mordred looked in shock. Link's eyes opened up to reveal a magic seal with a clock in the middle of it.
He stood at his seventeen year old form as Mordred looked confused. "Surprised," Link asked him.
Link knocked him back up into the air and slashed at his stomach his stomach. Blue energy shattered sending him to the floor. Mordred flipped to his feet in shock. "What are you? You are not some regular man or child?" Mordred shouted at Link asking.
"He…" Darton muttered.
"He grew up." Hisui finished.
"I need to finish this fight quickly!" Link thought. He swung his sword as a glyph with a gold triangle with a white edge appeared under Mordred's feet. The three corners of the triangle made created chains of light that bound the Rune Knight.
Ethereal golden light covered Link's body as he raised his sword in the sky. Golden red fire wrapped around his body burning the ceiling of the castle opened. Three blue magical barriers that looked like a diamond covered the king, princess, and the advisor's body. "Goddess Magic: Skyward Strike!"
The fire wrapped the blade along with blue and green tendrils. The golden light around his body had flickered white.
Mordred chuckled as he looked at the light before him. He smiled at Link before closing his eyes. Mordred activated a telepathy spell.
"Link, you are now our living legacy and I glad I got to see adult you. I hereby declare you the last true "Rune Knight". Commit yourself into saving the people with your strength, skills, and courage. Please be stronger than I, you are young and destined for great things. Make the most of the opportunities'. Use them to give back to people who have given us so much. To change the lives of many, don't abuse such abilities. Please don't waste your talents on people who want to hoard your ability and want you to lead a destructive life style." Mordred thought.
Link frowned. "I promise… I won't let you down." Link replied.
The light of the sword expanded to look like a blade as it came down on him. Soon the whole room was filled with the celestial light. As laughter filled the air it echoed above the harsh ringing for a moment before it was swallowed up in silence that preceded a deafening boom.
