Hello it's me Kazama again and I like to apologize not getting this chapter out sooner. I recently had my birthday and then my father's birthday. Then I recently got hit with a cold that coupled along with my allergy problems which was unpleasant. The news of two family members dying set things in a bad direction… I decided I should make this chapter shorter and refresh my skills. Hopefully this chapter came out right for you all. I hope you review to show some feedback… I defiantly need after this new problem.
zeldawolffang: Thank you and I do enjoy rewriting the story itself. I try to eliminate the mistakes I made from the first story.
Jmw: Link will not join Fairy Tail just yet in my story. It's just seems premature and boring in a sense seeing the same formula over and over again. Link doesn't have a real reason to joining one in the first place. He is not lost within the world or he needs help getting back to his own. He is simply trying to create his own future rather than let other's dictate. Joining a guild purely based on friendship alone isn't something most people do.
Link will spy on the Magic Council in due time… I would prefer holding back reactions from other guilds for a while seeing a majority of their members are not there yet. The Strauss siblings will appear a year from now in my story and join Fairy Tail. I might save Lisanna's life seeing the whole thing revolving around her and Edolas was pointless in a way for me. In a way they said Anima turns them into lacrima and it's never explained how she got there in first place.
Schniedragon88: Natsu does tend to drop the ball and make people suffer at times… I do love writing the interactions of Hisui and Lucy seeing they're so innocent as well naïve.
lincoln time: Konoe already suspected Link was different from most children. The fact that Time magic is a lost magic means there shouldn't be too much information on the subject itself. Merely it was trick played on her part to see where Link stands in the world itself. The fact she is big sister and the reason of logic in Link's life makes it funny. Link will gain family member like figures outside of Fairy Tail instead of within the guild. Porlyusica is character that is rarely explored and I plan on bringing her involvement in the story line better than the cannon. As well introduce Wendy more seeing she is becoming more a main character in the story line.
Libby8980: Link will create a majority of his weapons instead of just buying linear equipment from a store that is most likely overpriced. He is not going to join Fairy Tail just yet… there needs to be a reason he joins in my book. I don't want to copy a formula everyone else is doing and make the story boring.
quackerq123: Yes you are correct Devil May Cry 4 quote for the win with a reference to Nelo Angelo in a way. I am so hyped to see Vergil appear in the re-edited Devil May cry 4!
SteamRail74: You are correct you can smell potential romances with Hisui in this story. Link was always powerless when it comes to relationships like Darunia as well Konoe. Thank you for agreeing with the idea Link should have problems he still has to deal with and overcome. He doesn't have the mental trauma that many Fairy Tail members face, but the problems themselves are difficult for him to overcome alone. Link's fighting style in the beginning was never to overpower his opponents' initially in combat. For instance Navi will analyze the enemies' weakness in due time and not that instant stuff you see in the game. Link would try to disrupt, overwhelm, and adapt to the situations rather the meeting it a different approaches.
A character that is OP in the beginning always kills the story and make it boring overall. Due to the fact Link was raised by a tree he would have a greater sense of honor and truth unlike most people. He would try to better himself and showing other people can follow the path if they dedicate themselves to it.
ShotaroxPhillip: We will see all three of the Golden Goddess together with Link in due time. They will visit him and interact with others. Link will not have every item that was in Ocarina of Time due to Zelda sending him back in time. Leaving the weapons he gained in adulthood back there, but Link will try to create weapons around their concepts.
Link will not remember the past lives, but the Hero's spirit can tell him about the past lives of the other Link's to him.
Han-ko: Thank you and review and here is another chapter to show my appreciation for reviewing.
Ultima-owner: Link will sell and create his own magical decorations when he as nothing to do. At the same time Link is trying to learn how to protect what is precious to him at the same time.
Johnny Spectre: I am trying to add more depth to the characters most pass up in the story due to no exposure. I know camaraderie would come mostly from the guild itself. I know you are put off as Lucy and Link being a possible pairing in a story… but why would I want to make a linear story making the obvious Erza and Link pairing many enjoy. It's not hard for people to comprehend they could have a relationship together. But due to Erza's background romance takes a back seat due to her friends being in trouble. The fact that she easily gets into a serious relationship before the tower of heaven incident isn't realistic along with several Jellal pairing scenes seen in the anime. I will hold off presenting relationships for a while seeing Link is eleven currently in my story.
Jose19: Lucy is currently 10 years in my story seeing he appears in X776 to save Layla from her disease. A year passes with Konoe making eleven, while Lucy is turns 10. I reason the fact Link's age in the ocarina of time is ten years seeing he still fits in with Kokiri in the forest. It's true most people will try to see Link as a mage that specializes with sword like Erza. Sooner or later I will have spare against Erza in the story seeing she grows more confident in fighting skills over time due to Mirajane's rivalry.
A Knight among Mages
Chapter 7:
You have to take the good with the bad
Link walked into the living room as he carried a tray filled with snacks. He carried a huge plate of cookies and a tall glass of milk for him. Konoe had asked for simple cup of ice coffee and a slice of chocolate cake. Makarov only asked for a simple cup of water since he already ate lunch earlier. The kids in the room were already enjoying their snacks: Erza was enjoying strawberry cake, Gray Ice cream, Natsu was a flaming cake, while Cana and Levy just enjoyed drink.
Link set down the tray and set out the respective drinks and snacks out to them. Konoe set down her pen and paper in her lap. She picked began to drink her iced coffee and looked over to the children in question.
"Since, we are done talking about your job offer of making non-magical items and magical items for the Harvest Festival. I am going to ask your children to leave since this is a private conversation now." Konoe explained.
The kids looked shocked and looked up from their snacks. Natsu looked outraged by the very question. "I still want to fight, Link!" He shouted in anger.
Konoe looked him in the eye as she cracked her knuckles. "It seems we have problems with authority figures Natsu, do I have to teach you a lesson again with your friends." Konoe threatened.
The kids shivered as Gray looked towards Natsu. "Are you idiot? Don't drag us into this mess again!" Gray shouted at him.
Natsu grunted. "You all came here wanting to see something as well too." Natsu argued.
"I wanted to learn more about letter magic in general." Levy told Natsu.
"Well you can guys can visit another time, but next time we will bound you all to the seals placed around the house. Makarov-san wants to talk with us in private." Konoe told him.
Makarov nodded. "It's no surprise that I would hire Konoe and Link to make items for the upcoming festival my children. But I prefer that this conversation between the three of us remains a secret."
"Are you going to ask them to join the guild?" Natsu energetically asked him.
The other kid's attentions snapped to attention. "Are you really going to join us that would be wonderful?" Levy asked him.
Konoe sat there calmly as she at her cakes as Link finished eating his snack. Erza looked up at them a bit confused. "You are guys are not happy about joining our guild." Erza pointed out.
Natsu looked confused. "What, our guild is great! What is so wrong with our" Natsu was cut off by light capturing his body stunning him. Makarov nodded his head towards Natsu's actions.
"Natsu, you should know better than to press your views on someone else. This is your first time meeting them and you don't understand what is going on." Makarov argued letting the light die around Natsu.
"Link, doesn't consider himself a mage and he has never shown any real interest in joining one before. Konoe has a prominent career in developing and creating magic's as a scientist. Plus she hates the council for black listing for several years. It's their choice whether or not to join us, not yours."
Konoe nodded in agreement. "That is something I can agree with." Konoe agreed.
Erza turned towards Link a bit confused. "What are your thought on this, Link?" Erza asked him.
"I never even considered joining a guild in the first place, though I did manage to find my friend again. I planned on heading across Fiore fighting bandits, demons, and monster soon." Link admitted.
Konoe playfully rubbed his hair. "I see you want to keep your promise to Mordred then." Konoe pointed out.
Link happily nodded. "Of course," Link replied.
"Promise…" Erza muttered in curiosity.
"Link made a promise to Mordred a rune knight possessed by a demon to help carry on the legacy of their order. Personally if the man was here in person, he would personally slap you around for calling Link a mage. He wanted Link to use his strength, skills, and courage to helping people without the being offered money as an incentive." Konoe explained.
"That sounds like a hard legacy to maintain." Cana muttered.
Link nodded. "I didn't show any interest in joining a guild since I focused on finding my friend. Now that my quest is over for searching my friend, I plan honoring Mordred's wish. To show them what a real Rune Knight is compared the mages the council employs." Link explained.
Erza nodded. "Well I can see why you don't want to join any guild any time soon. You want to honor their legacy, but what about you Konoe Onee-san?" Erza asked her.
"Council issues and my job," Konoe pointed out.
Makarov nodded. "I see then, but how about this then. How about a trial run then to see how things will go by joining us? If the council constantly dogs you and us you can leave any time you want. You can freely work on research and take any job that deals in the study of creation of magic." Makarov offered.
Konoe shifted in her seat to think about the offer for a moment. "Maybe, but I need your kids to leave now." Konoe told them.
Makarov turned to them and gave them all a glare. The kids sighed and nodded leaving the house. Konoe watched them all leave throughout the door as it closed behind him.
"When were you going to tell us about your other guest Makarov?"
Makarov shook her head. "I see you have noticed my extra guest. It's okay Mystogan, they are friends." Makarov told them.
A wave of light dispersed around the figure that was cloaked by light. It was a boy around Erza's age that had dark eyes, blue hair and tattoo on the right side of his face. He wore a simple black shirt, blue jean shorts, and brown boots. He carried a pack on his back, which he shifted on his shoulders. He held onto a staff which had a round and wrapped in bandages.
"Good afternoon, Konoe-san and Link," Mystogan greeted himself.
"Mystogan has the same disposition as Link, but with a twist." Makarov pointed out.
Konoe looked amused as Link looked confused with a hint of shock. "Go on, we're listing." Konoe insisted.
"He has a lot of problems that I can't help him with, but you on the other hand can." Makarov explained.
…
Outside of Konoe's and Link's workshop
Link was setting down boxes inside a wagon with the Fairy Tail symbol on it. The boxes themselves were filled with merchandise Makarov order two months ago in preparation for the Harvest Festival. He finally finished putting all the shipments on the back of the cart. He noticed Makarov and Konoe coming out of the workshop behind them.
"It seems you are satisfied with the items we created." Konoe pointed out.
Makarov nodded. "Of course I am… I had no doubt about your skills. Thank you for properly pricing them, I have horrible business sense when it comes to selling magical items. I was surprised that you joined the guild, even if it was a trial run." Makarov told her.
Konoe stared at him. "I joined your guild for many reasons, but I wanted to make sure the girls grew up properly. Plus I have to keep a close eye on you just you in case you get any weird ideas. Don't think Enno didn't tell me about your perverted comments about me." Konoe warned him.
Makarov sweated heavily as he gave a nervous laughter. "I will refrain from saying such things again…" Makarov muttered. "When you're not around…"
He made sure no else could it, except Link's Hylian's ears managed to pick the man's last sentence.
Konoe turned towards Link. "You did an excellent job on creating Mystogan's armor. You managed to imbue mythril into the silk weave along with lacrima crystals." Konoe complimented him.
Link nodded with a smile. "I made sure it was almost like a semi-armor that was light weight to be like clothing in general. It's protects Mystogan from physical damage as well magical one as well. I also placed an enchantment into his clothes to help him adjust to the heat and cold." Link explained.
Makarov nodded. "I am more impressed that you two managed to give him a Mystogan a magic container. I was shocked to see he had the ability to use magic." Makarov explained.
Konoe shrugged with a smile. "It was hard work for the both of us… I had to create a hollow out lacrima crystal and implant it into his body. I had to create and use some bio-related spells to link it to his body. Link had used his time magic to age the container back and forth with his magic to perfectly adjust it to his body. Once we made sure the lacrima crystals disappeared, we had to make sure the magic could work internally and external without hurting him." Konoe explained.
They saw the doors open from the workshop behind them. Mystogan walked out wearing his new attire. He now wore a dark blue cloak and his arms and legs are mostly covered in bandages. He also wore a dark blue bandana with a silver forehead protector and a green mask that obscured the bottom half of his face to hide his identity from people. His magic stave was attached to the back of his clothes.
"I should thank you both for helping me out with my magic problem and residential problem." Mystogan thanked them.
Link shrugged. "It's okay; it's hard to adjust to life here without any help. I have a lot of unused rooms in the house so I don't have a problem with another person living here. I also made sure to restrict everyone's access to the house as long as you're here. I don't want Erza to drop by unannounced when you are not wearing your armor." Link explained.
Mystogan nodded. "It just feels weird to actual wield magic now… it feels so warm." Mystogan pointed out.
Konoe patted his head. "Tomorrow, I will personally teach you some wind magic and some other spells. I don't want you running out a mission and exhaust yourself by throwing out spells." Konoe warned him.
Mystogan nodded. "Master, is it okay I start taking missions today." Mystogan asked him.
Makarov nodded. "Sure, but be sure to pace yourself Mystogan. The festival is coming soon and I want you to come back in uninjured to enjoy it. I will make sure this delivery reaches the guild safely, so be safe you three." Makarov told them.
Mystogan nodded. Makarov jumped onto his magical carriage. He attached SE plug to his arm and he drove off with it down the path towards town.
Konoe clapped her hands off now. "Well now that our job is done, Makarov made sure to transfer the money for the job into our bank accounts. You guys have a free day today to do anything you want to." Konoe told them.
Mystogan nodded. "I am going on a few short jobs to get some money in my pocket. I want to help pay some the bills for Link's house." Mystogan told him.
Konoe nodded. "Be sure to use the spells I taught you properly. They can go a long way in a battle if used correctly." Konoe reminded him.
Mystogan nodded as he turned into mist and disappeared into the wind. Konoe turned towards Link now.
"I plan on using the forge today to upgrade the Goddess Sword's strength. Hopefully I can create some new weapons to aid me in battle." Link explained.
Konoe nodded before yawning and pointed towards the house. "Well I am going back to sleep for today then. Just make sure you don't blow yourself up creating something." Konoe warned him as Link nodded.
She headed off towards the house as Link walked into the work shop to work on his new projects.
…
The roaring flame echoed throughout the magic furnace. A dazzling green inferno sat in front of Link in the dark room. He smiled at the sight of finally turned Farore's spell into a spiritual flame. He heard a voice call out to him.
"Very good, Link you finally managed to make a Spiritual flame to upgrade the Goddess Sword. Just know that this process can also be used for other weapons as well if you so desire. I will let you experiment as you please in the future. Now I want you to hold the Goddess Sword up in the air to absorb the spiritual energy." Farore advised.
Link did so raising the sword up. He focused on calling the energy to his sword as several green bolts. The green fire enveloped the sword as Link raised it up in the sky. He heard a snapping sound a bright light enveloped the sword.
The light dissipated he saw the sword was longer and the hilt changed. He swung it around feeling the power of the sword has changed.
"It's beautiful…" Link muttered.
He heard a giggle come from Farore. "Congratulations you managed to improve the Goddess sword into a Goddess Long sword. It may be longer, but it's also sharper now. It does twice the damage the Goddess Sword could ever do in its basic form. Since we are on this topic, Link, I should advise you that the weapons you use may be great. They need to be updated post haste, for instance your bombs, hook=shot, and also your bow." Farore advised.
Link nodded sending his sword into his pocket dimension. "I understand…" Link acknowledged her.
"On another note, your dear friend Navi is coming over soon. I hoped you remembered her promise to you." Farore reminded him.
"Of course, I have some snacks prepared for her visit. Then I will take across town to help buy some clothes for her when does visit me again." Link explained.
"That sounds like a plan, so I will leave you alone for awhile. I have to handle some business in Ordona, okay." Farore told him.
Link nodded heading over to his research table to pick write in his journal.
"Well today marks a great day for me seeing I managed to upgrade the Goddess Sword into a long sword now. I can't wait to test its strength against monsters now; it resembles the master sword a bit more now. On another it's been two months since Konoe-sensei joined Fairy Tail along with Mystogan our new housemate. She has a purple Fairy Tail on her left bicep and Mystogan a black Fairy Tail on his left hand. I on the other opted not to join Fairy Tail, yet… the reason behind this fact is simple. I don't want to be known as a mage of any guild, if I did that I would break my promise to Mordred by doing such a thing. It would also insult him with the fact the Last True Rune Knight to be called a mage. It would make him come back from the grave without a doubt and beat me around.
I plan on going across the Country of Fiore and solve many of the problems Fiore face by myself while mastering the magic's inside the book Mordred once possessed. I will no doubt run across bandits, monsters, and dark mages along the way during this journey. I will stop somewhere in the Year X778 to take a break and think hard what I want to do in the future.
I will start this quest when my last month of punishment is up. For the time being, I will focus on creating concept and upgrades to my weaponry for now since I have some free time. In truth looking back some of my weapons are situational at times and they have flaws people can exploit. Bombs for instance can be easily dowsed by water spells in a near instance. I will outgrow my hero's bow in due time as well my hook-shot.
I need a way to fuse and blend concepts together to make them more effective than what Erza's planning. I think relying on a weapons and armor's ability alone is a fool's gambit. I can create a bow blade for instance… a weapon that can fire a long range targets and then transform into a blade to handle up-close engagements.
That doesn't sound half-bad at all, but I need to think more outside the box more. I should also focus on weapons that I have no experience in or hardly even used due to being unorthodox.
Link was broken by his thoughts as a blue fairy hit his head snapping him out of his thoughts. "Hey listen, I know you are using your head for once, but I am here." Navi called out.
Link smiled. "It's good to see you again, Navi. I wasn't expecting you to drop by unannounced. Did you finish your business at your fountain?" Link asked his fairy friend.
"I did, but I need your help with something." Navi explained.
"With what," Link replied.
"Well I need help buying human clothes so I can fit in with the population. I also want your help to restore a Fairy Fountain that was destroyed due to an iron based attack." Navi explained.
Link turned his head in confusion. "Iron…" Link muttered.
"I know you are confused, but Iron is potentially dangerous to fairies in this dimension. Apparently my friends who reside in Earthland are allergic to iron and silver unlike me." Navi explained.
"That sounds serious, but why a fountain would be covered by huge of iron unless…" Link muttered to think for a moment.
Navi nodded. "It seems you finally understand why I am asking such a big favor from you." Navi explained.
…
South West of Fiore
Link walked along a barren path heading towards the sea. He wore a brown cloak over his usual green tunic. Navi sat on his shoulder enjoying the view until she pointed out to a cliff.
"We are almost here now, just look over the cliff to see what I was talking about." Navi explained.
Link did so as he was taken aback by the huge amounts of black iron sand smothering the land. Some greenery circled the area, but it apparently it was dying.
"It feels so dead here…" Link muttered.
Navi nodded. "A century ago a man with nature magic tried reviving the forest, but failed. The tons of iron sand prevented anything here from growing… the fact that the sand was produced by Iron God slayer is ridiculous." Navi explained.
Link turned his head. "What is so different about my Goddess Magic to these other supposed God slayers, Navi?" Link asked her.
Navi turned towards him. "There God slayer magic is merely a corrupt form of a real God and Goddess Magic. Merely a representation of human concepts placed within the magic itself. Not to say there aren't corrupt forms of God Slayer, but yours is a purer form of it. The fact if you tried to absorb sacred energy within your body, you will harm yourself in some degree depending how much you absorb. It is said that each slayer turns their body into respective demon, God, and dragon body parts when they used the spell." Navi explained.
"I already knew that." Link told her.
Navi sat there quietly. "I heard a horrible rumor that people who learn dragon slayer magic end can end up becoming dragons. On top of that those make pacts to learn Demon slayer can be corrupted and turn into a demon if they are not careful. God slayer magic in general was designed to stop such a thing from happening." Navi explained.
Link's eyes widened up in shock. "You mean Natsu will become a dragon sooner or later?" Link asked her.
Navi shrugged. "Who knows, but I heard another rumor that the dragon's themselves made a secret art to prevent that from happening. Let's stop talking about it for now and restore this forest. I am eager to see why they call this fountain very beautiful back in its day." Navi explained.
Link took out his ocarina as he played the song of time. The melody flowed through the air, the iron sand dissipated before them. A huge mythical forest began to reform around the area. Navi smiled as she felt the energy flowed throughout the forest. Link began to play another song with his ocarina.
A rain dowse the area as Link made sure to lift his hood above his head. "I needed to make sure it rained so the forest wouldn't dry up." Link told her. He put away his ocarina in his pouch. "So where is this fountain Navi?"
Navi floated off his shoulder. "Follow me, its underground and away from prying eyes." Navi told him.
She flew into the forest as Link ran after her.
…
It took a good thirty minutes running through the forest as they reached their destination. Link saw a cave entrance that was within the mountain side. Link followed her with caution as he noticed the rain water pouring in.
They followed down the winding trail, as the glowing moss lit their way. They finally came down to a cave littered with lacrima crystals against the walls. A huge fountain sat at the back of the cave as he noticed running water flowing into the pool.
"The rain outside is filling the fountain…" Link muttered.
"Of course it is the last Great Fairy that was stationed here loved using natural rain water for the fountain. She dug holes into the mountain to make sure it poured into the fountain as well as a draining ditch to flow out old water." Navi explained. She noticed Link's magic shimmering as the crystal around the cave echoed back.
"What is this?" Link muttered as he inspected his body.
Navi smiled. "These lacrima crystals are very sensitive in nature; they absorb and reflect magical energies. The crystals' here are the catalyst. I sense that someone very powerful walked here leaving a very strong impression behind in the crystals. Any future mage that manages to visit this fountain can feel our presence. It's like leaving footprints preserved in the soil." Navi explained.
Link walked around the cave inspecting the crystal formation as he saw lacrima glowing around him. It had a celestial blue color to it as he picked it up to inspect it.
"This one shimmers in my presence." Link pointed out.
"That is very a good sign; Link that crystal is attuned to your magic. With enough meditation you can imbue your magical energy into the lacrima crystal. Once done the lacrima crystal will drain less of your magical energy in whatever weapon or item you place it in." Navi explained.
"Like a pure magical blade." Link pointed out.
Navi nodded. "Correct, but be careful with creating a magical blade, it has several drawbacks to using such a weapon. You need to compensate for the lack of weight and directional changes unlike a real blade." Navi lectured him. She clicked her fingers as winged boomerang appeared before her. She tossed the boomerang around Link as wind swirled around him. He caught the boomerang with ease as he inspected it.
"A boomerang," Link muttered in confusion as he turned to Navi.
"Call that as a reward for helping me restore this place back to normal. This boomerang is not an ordinary one or some magical item you can easily create by hand. This boomerang inhabits the Fairy of Winds. It creates whirlwinds or razor like wind to cut enemies down with enough practice. It can also retrieve items or enemies if you so desire." Navi explained.
Link smiled and bowed to Navi. "Thank you for the gift Navi." Link thanked her.
Navi just smiled and shrugged. "You're welcome," She told him.
…
Link sat along the roadside as he meditated to himself as he focused his magical energy into a small magical furnace. He made two hollow cylinder hilts and tested his hammer against them to make sure they were solid. He studied it closely as looked over to his sketch.
"I need to make sure a small magical cell is installed properly the weapon can remain active without constantly placing magic into the weapon. I also need to install an emitter matrix to ensure that the magical properly contained within a barrier. Then place them together to make them look like a short staff." Link muttered.
He was giving his final touches to the weapon as he began engraving Hylian symbols and rune along the metallic staff. Making sure it had gold lines engraved show up on the metallic gray surface. He picked up the weapon to inspect it as he pressed two switches in the middle of the weapon. Both blades were around four feet in general like real common sword he saw in a shop.
He gave a small off a small before he deactivated the weapon. He looked up into the sky seeing smoke as he soon saw a giant black ship in the area. His sensitive ears picked up screaming the area as he scrambled quickly to put up his tools. He pulled out his camera to take a picture of the ship.
He frowned as he noticed a glow from his Tri-force glowing from his left hand. "Something feels very dark and evil… it's coming from Black Water Village."
Link ran off towards the village full speed hoping to find what was going on. He clapped his hands together, the rune armor covered his body as he in quickly placed the appropriate words in order.
…
The rune magic armor wrapped around Link's body it augmented his speed greatly as he wore the bunny hood as well. His body was feeling the strain of the speed he was going. His mind raced as he dashed through the forest. Black Water village was isolated town near the place Navi wanted him to go. On a Magic Wheeler it would take six hours to get there, but he was pushing for two hours.
He stopped for a moment as he pulled out his map and compass to check how far he was from the village. He was a couple of miles away from the village. Link sighed taking a breath of fresh air as he looked up to see people fleeing the scene. He requipped his armor for battle as his rune armor enveloped his armor.
"Excuse me, what is going on!" Link shouted.
One man turned to him with fear in his eyes. "A group of mages attacked our village," he explained.
Link looked up to see a bolt of light shooting across the sky. He quickly ignited his dual blade magical sword to deflect it back. It flew into a man's face with a white mask with a red heart on his face. He quickly sprung into action running towards the group chasing the townspeople.
He quickly dashed between slashing them down with ease and spinning it like a staff slashing them down. He looked up to see a man from the distance casting a fire spell. He saw the spell coming towards as he instantly jumped high into the air dodging the attack. The spell burned his allies as the mage from the distance looked in shock.
"Where did he go?" He shouted. He heard someone landing behind him as he quickly turned around to confront Link. Link spun slashing into him as he faced his back. The magical blades dissipated to the magical saber staff. The man fell to the ground as he finally attacked his weapon to the small of his back.
"Fire magic in general may seem like a good magic, but it has a weakness. Once its hits its target how can you tell if they are down. You also care little for your companions' well being to launch such a spell in their direction." Link lectured the wounded man.
Link looked off in the distance to see the village burning as he frowned. Nothing was left to save as he saw the magical ship flew away from the village.
"I thought Karkariko Village was bad, but this worst than that all together. Less than a hundred survivors survived this nightmare…" Link thought.
Link felt a magical energy appear behind as he saw a red light. He turned his head to see Din was standing there shaking her head in disappointment. "Such a sad sight isn't Link…" Din muttered. Link turned back to the burning village. "Hyrule was like this for a while during its civil war, the one that claimed your parent's lives."
Link frowned. "Why would do this?" Link asked them.
"Those with power will use that power… man since their creation has always fought for something. Majority of those fights were for selfish reasons rather than good causes. You were blessed to be born in a forest rather than the hands of man despite the bad comings. So listen to me now and do not use your time magic to reset time to save these people. If you were to interfere at your current state you would lose. The Fierce Deity's mask is a double edge sword for you since a fragment of his spirit can take over your body. I would advise you only to use it dire emergencies' where your life is endangered." Din advised.
Link nodded. "Okay, I trust you judgment Din-sama…" Link muttered in disappointment.
Din patted Link's head with a small smile. "It's okay to feel weak and helpless at times Link. Everyone was born weak and will still have weaknesses as they grow up. I also came here to tell you there are consequences to every little action everyone does. Link you are not solving Fiore's problems by just helping people." Din explained.
"Not solve the problem?" Link muttered in confusion.
"Have you ever wondered why you grew so strong so fast compared to others?" Din asked him.
Link nodded his head no. "I don't…" Link admitted.
"When people across Earthland and Hyrule constantly threw challenges in your face. You constantly grew in power as well experience unlike them. The people who refuse to go through these difficult challenges themselves always lose out. In truth you create greater evil by letting them not handle or learn from their mistakes. What happens if you found a hungry and homeless man on the streets? Your first action is to help give him food, but what happens if he need to beg for more food in the future. He fails to get any do no one having sympathy for him." Din lectured Link.
"He would turn to stealing to help feed him." Link admitted.
Din nodded. "That is correct; a man that doesn't know how to hunt or work a job to get food will turn desperate. Saving someone physically doesn't save them as well it can only doom in the long run. You obviously must have felt that when you met the kids from Fairy Tail Guild." Din pointed out.
Link nodded. "There we so scared of themselves or something was holding them back. Makarov-san always treated them like kids and shied them away from serious or dangerous things." Link admitted.
"Makarov doesn't know he stunted their truth growth and let fear grip their heart completely. It will only become a liability in the future if he doesn't get a handle on the situation." Din told him. "Since I am here I might as well teach you Inferno…" Din muttered.
"Inferno…" Link asked her in curiosity.
"Well I show you the move after you reverse time for the village. I want some cake for my efforts in training you." Din told him.
Link nodded. "Okay, as soon as we are back in town we will head towards any shop of your choosing." Link promised as Din smiled.
"At least you know how to treat a lady…" Din muttered. She quickly waved her hands as the fire dispersed from the land itself. The land began to reform and take shape again before them. The land looked fertile to grow crops here. She turned back to Link and looked at him. "Before you go anywhere Link, be sure to use your wood-make magic to create houses for them to live in for a while. Then make your way towards another town where they have plenty of shops okay." Din explained.
Link nodded as she disappeared from sight as he soon. He took a slow look at the village with a frown. "Why would anyone do this to innocent people?" Link thought.

Hades looked down and admired the object before him that was wrapped in a protective barrier. He saw a black key with a dark ominous purple magic around the end of the key. He smirked as he put it away in a protective case with another that already had two other keys.
"So we managed to collect another of "Zeref Key's" without the Magic Council knowing our position." He proudly stated.
He turned to Bluenote who sat there stoically and unhappy. Zancrow laughed crazily and smiled.
"So we are one step close in making a true magical world, but why did we leave in haste Master Hades. There were some villagers that escaped and some of our men never made it back." Zancrow asked him.
Bluenote nodded. "We left a few loose ends and it's no doubt the Magic Council will soon know about our exploits." Bluenote agreed.
Hades nodded. "It's true we left a few loose ends, but it helps to put fear in the Magic Council and the people of Fiore. Though I did it on purpose to make sure I slow down our Mr. Kokiri before he interrupted our search for the key." Hades explained. An archive screen appeared before them as it showed a clip of Link fighting several mages and killing them.
Zancrow raised an eyebrow. "You mean the boy that knows time magic and learned Goddess Magic from a read Goddess." Zancrow pointed out.
Hades nodded. "There was no doubt he would have slain many of our mages or he could have used his time magic to cripple our ship. Plus we don't Ultear here to help us reconstruct the ship here so we had to make a hasty departure. Plus you would try to him Zancrow to see which God type magic was stronger or it was able to kill this goddess." Hades pointed out.
Zancrow smiled. "I almost got my chance to slay a goddess." He laughed.
Bluenote looked at the video with interest. "He is dangerous…" He pointed out. "He killed those men with ease and without hesitation. Mages that respect the Council don't do that."
Hades nodded. "True, but he was knighted by the Kingdom of Fiore, he has to right to kill anyone in his path if it's hurts the citizens of Fiore. Plus Ultear can learn a thing or two from him if they ever get a chance to meet." Hades explained.
"You are hoping he can somehow increase her Time magic capabilities." Bluenote pointed out.
Hades nodded. "Time magic has risky consequences' seeing it can easily age the castor to old brittle state or death itself. Mr. Kokiri has managed to break the law without killing himself. Our agent inside the council states he called upon the Goddess of Time to overcome its effects. Plus he is the magic user that can use pure magic; I rather study him than kill him right now." Hades told them.
"What happens if he joins a guild or become a hindrance to our plan?" Bluenote pointed out.
Hades shrugged. "It only becomes a hindrance if he knows what our goals are and tries to stop us. The attack itself was covered up by the fact we stole all villagers possessions and money. Plus if he joins a guild our agent can easily redirect his efforts in other places." Hades explained.
"I really wanted to fight him." Zancrow pointed out.
Hades smiled. "In due time Zancrow, but he holds the advantage over you right now. He has more combat experience than you and he is being trained by a Goddess himself. I need you to focus on improving your skills and getting stronger otherwise fighting him would be death at this point." Hades lectured him.
Zancrow nodded. "Yes Master Hades…" Zancrow mumbled in anger. "May I be excused?"
Hades nodded as saw Zancrow walked away in anger as black flames erupted around him. Bluenote shook his head in disappointment. "It seems he can't handle the fact he is still far too weak to face Link Kokiri in battle." He pointed out.
Hades nodded. "It takes years to master lost magic Bluenote than any regular magic. Plus we need to recruit more capable people if we want to achieve our goals. Training young people is far easier due to the fact they can be manipulated easily. I would have loyal foot soldiers that never question me or betray me. Be sure to keep a look out for any children with great magic potential for me." Hades explained.
Bluenote nodded as he walked off to inspect the troops and do inventory. Hades looked at the video again and inspected it with interest.

Rune Knight spells
Energy Barrier: A spell that concentrates' pure magical energy into a rune seal array for a defense. It's strong enough to deflect or reflect spells up to B-ranks spells. Spells that circumvent are area effect spells or spell that go around the shield.
Spell Counter Shield: Though never shown yet, the spell is castor mages worst nightmare. The user must match the spells same output to use this spell. It's lengthy spell that needs concentration and one that is never used so often. It absorbs the opposing mages spells that hit the shield to ramp up the user's own attack. In a since it slashes through all magical attacks despite whatever defense is put up.
The downfall of the technique is energy requirements and proper timing. One mistake of using this move prematurely can cost your life.
Rune Armor: The saying words are just a powerful if used correctly. The armor itself can absorb a good deal of damage and its alternative to wearing real armor in battle.
Link changes the process by imbuing different words to increase its overall capabilities. It can augment his natural skills to superhuman levels. Link explores this technique more to see if he can use it multiple ways
Weapon:
Gale Force Boomerang: It houses the Fairy of Winds inside it. It's capable of creating whirlwinds that can toss around enemies or rip them into shreds. It's usually used in conjunction with other spells to increase its effectiveness.

It's capable of cutting things that most magical swords can't do on their own. The weakness is has is the fact if the user is not skilled enough to use it's a predictable weapon that can easily blocked or dodged.
