chapter 12
"Well I never thought I'd see the day" Caroline says smirking from her position at the door, Her voice startling the vampires who were spread around the mansions spacious living room, Klaus smirks at his two favourite blondes from the arm chair, While Elijah tries to recompose himself from his spot on the chaise offering polite smiles as exits the room on his way Slapping the back of Kol's head who was still asleep causing him to awake with a jolt and dislodge Stefan from his position on his legs, Earning a collective groan from the guys.
Laughing Rebekah and Caroline make there way further into the room while taking an inventory of used or empty whiskey bottle's claiming the large coffee table in the centre of the room. "See what love?" Klaus asks standing up and walking his way towards her charming smirk inplace, Which quickly slips when he's sees her scrunched up nose.
"What's the matter Caroline?" He ask's taking a step closer only for her to take a step away and hold her hand up in his direction "Whats up Care?" Stefan asks looking more awake now and quickly assessing the scene trying to step closer only to receive the same treatment.
"Care?" Rebekah ask's moving closer to her with a worried expression as Caroline quickly clamps a hand over her mouth and nose, Before flashing from the room, Klaus is about to go after her only to be halted by the sounds of retching coming from the distance, "Caroline?" Klaus and Stefan both call out to her, Only to get a mumbled response before the retching sounds pick up again "What did she say?" Kol ask's from his position.
"I said ' stupid morning sickness" Caroline shouts from behind the bathroom door, Rebekah sighs in understanding as the men frown at each other, "Do you need a hand love?" Klaus calls from his spot by the door
"No what I need is to not be smelling all of you right now" She calls back earning a snicker from Rebekah who decides to plant herself down in Klaus's vacated seat, "Smelling?" Klaus asks looking to his siblings and Stefan in confusion only to have no help from them.
Seeing the looks of confusion on her brothers face Rebekah cant help the stream of laughter that bubbles from her chest, Sobering quickly from the threatening look she earns from the boys she's quick to explain which has Kol laughing along with her and Klaus to disappear for a shower on his way collecting most of the bottles from the room.
"Care" Stefan calls from the front door earning a mumbled yeah from the blonde locked inside the bathroom "I'll shower and meet you at yours" "Shower twice Stefan, I don't need to be puking all day" Caroline shouts back causing Kol to double over with laughter but one look from Rebekah has him scampering from the room.
"You can come out now Caroline they've gone to get clean and I've opened the windows" Rebekah says knocking the door to the bathroom."Thanks" Caroline says giving her new friend a small smile as she comes out of the room just as a fresh looking Elijah strides back into the room offering her apologies for his un-sophisticated manner which has both blondes rolling there eyes at the suited man.
Once every ones back in the room Caroline's quick to seat herself next to Rebekah but also close to Klaus. "Well I should go dont want to lose any time from my date, I have a very important itinerary set up for today, So all of you apologize and play nice"Caroline says standing up only to have Klaus catch her wrist before she can go anywhere "Date?" He asks with a growl.
"Oh relax Klaus my date is really Stefan and please like that wouldn't be weird even thinking it makes me Uh any way like i said yesterday apologize to your sister and then maybe you could have your own family date, Maybe go for a picnic although your originals and that would involve blood and plus Kol's here and that wouldn't be good for any soccer moms in the area so yeah maybe a picnic isn't a good idea maybe just I don't know play a game or something" Caroline says looking at each of the vampires in the room.
"And no Kol that something can not be anything that involves killing or torturing a poor unsuspecting human being or there will be repercussions understood" Caroline says looking at him pointedly making Kol gulp before saying anything "and what if I don't mama vamp" he says smirk falling into place easily.
suddenly Caroline is hovering over him making him try and sink into the back of the chair as she towers over him, Leaning down to bring her face as close as possible without getting to close, Kol swallows loudly not liking the twinkle she has in her eyes, While the rest of the room eagerly watch on mirth dancing in there eyes as Caroline speaks.
"Kol you really don't want to find out, Now am I understood" She asks gripping his chin forcing him to look her in the eye "Crystal".
"Good boy" Caroline says patting his cheek with a broad smile "Have fun, The apology better be good because you all have no excuse for crappy ones" with a quick kiss to the top of Klaus's head she leaves the mansion
"How is it she made me feel horny and like a little boy all at the same time" Kol says awe slipping into his voice as he looks at where she exited from earning a growl from Klaus a chuckle from Rebekah and a smile from Elijah.
"Well she certainly is something special for our family, If you haven't heard it from me already brother I will tell you again, You chose very well Nikklaus" Elijah says smiling at his brother.
Caroline and Stefan spent the afternoon spending some quality bonding time, Which consisted of them mainly going over some of his restraint skills testing it as such seeing how far his restraint could go and her coming up with a plan with how to improve it too, But mainly laughing over nothing and everything around 6:30 they both decide they had had enough and headed to the grill for something to eat and a few games of pool, Which was what they where doing when a familiar scent hit both of their noses, Causing there heads to snap in the direction of the door and there grips on the cue's to tighten as the familiar brunettes came into view.
"Brother, Blondie long time" Damon says smirking at them both as Elena loosens her grip on his arm and takes a slight but noticeable step away from her boyfriend. "Stef, Care how are you both" Elena asks smiling her signature doe eyed innocent smile at them both.
"Elena, Damon" Caroline says taking a step closer to Stefan to make sure he was in reaching distance for how ever this played out. "Damon what you doing here?" Stefan says his voice barely holding any of his volcanic emotions inside.
"Now brother is that any way to greet me whats it been 2 years now? I thought a catch up was in order" Damon says his head tilting slightly to the side "Its not been long enough" Stefan says putting his pool cue down before he breaks it before catching Caroline's eye and getting a small nod before she follows his actions and lets her cue go onto the table too.
"As ever this wasn't a pleasure, Lets leave it longer next time between visits shall we" He says taking Caroline's hand which Elena's eyes narrowing before she tries to block there exit.
"Stefan please we came her to talk and fix things between us all you could at least-" "Atleast what Elena, Things were pretty clear on my end the last time we had a little run in, I do not want to fix things with you" Stefan says cutting her off and taking a step aside.
"But we're-" She tries again only to stop short at the fierce look he sends her way.
"We're what Elena, That's what I thought, Damon is My brother and even before you it was a strained relationship and You were what I thought was the love of my life only for me to realize all you ever did was bring nothing but more misery to it, So I'll think I'd rather not be anywhere near you, Care you ready?" Stefan asks not letting himself be bothered by Elena's watering eyes or turn to look at the face Damon is sending his way, Just focusing on his best friend.
"Whenever you are" Caroline says squeezing his hand for good measure. Ignoring what ever please that were sure to come from them both they walk hand in hand out of the grill and with a quick look around flash to Caroline's house.
"You know where to find your clothes I'm gonna get the ice cream and check in with mom" Caroline says making her way into the kitchen to phone her mother leaving Stefan to go to her room to grab some spare clothes from her dresser that she allotted him draw's for his clothes when he helped her after her transformation.
Sitting on her bed his mind drifts to the last run in they had with his brother and ex-girlfriend. ~

"You left me, Left US" Elena shouted in Stefan's face, His fingers clenching harder against his palm as his fisted hands became tighter, "It was time for me to move on, And I certainly was gonna say any longer to watch the Damon and Elena show" He shouts back a part of him acutely aware of Caroline and Damon arguing a few steps next to him but not really aware of what their saying.
"I needed you, Bonnie had left after her powers were restored, Jeremy left, Then you after everything we've been through you just up and left with no thought about what that would do to anyone" Elena shouts back.
"I left after you chose MY BROTHER ELENA, You chose him I should of never have stayed as long as I did" Stefan says trying to rein in his temper as most of the pubs occupants decide the shouting was to much and left, But the few that had stuck around were avidly watching with interest.
"You this is all your fault, You stole him from us" Elena shouts at Caroline "What" Caroline and Stefan shout at the same time confusion seeping into the four letter word.
"What was Damon, Tyler and Matt not enough for you to try and take from me you had to go for Stefan too?, I knew you where a slut but I never knew you were this desperate Care" She says shaking her head at the blonde.
"I didnt Steal anyone from you and Stefan wasn't yours -" Stefan cuts Caroline off speaking up himself,
"I left for myself and trust me when I tell you it was the best decision of my life for Care to come with me" Stefan said watching her closely "No, NO!" Elena shouts "You don't mean that Stefan, Come on I know I'm with Damon now but I still care about you and we need you in our lives Stefan, Don't abandon us , Me again Stef, Please come back to me" Elena says gripping his arm ignoring the wholes Damon was staring into her.
"I didn't abandon you Elena, I left I chose to leave to start a fresh and if you really cared about me, If you ever really loved me you would of realized that this is -" Elena cuts him off with a scoff "Please running around the world fucking my ex-best friend isn't whats good for you, You need to be with people who love you who need you to be there for them just as much as they are for you, And clearly Caroline isn't one of those people otherwise she would never of tried to steal you away from -"
"Away from who Elena, You or Damon" Caroline shouts at her, Never being as angry or disappointed in her friend then in that moment. "Shut up I'm not talking to you, Who steals there friends -" "Ex boyfriend" Caroline supplies for her with a smirk.
"What happened Care Tyler find out you were a whore and decided to leave, Cant say I blame him really" Elena says smirking exactly like Katherine does at her making Stefan cringe away from her, Her hand falling limply off his arm as he pulls it free of her grasp as if it was vervain.
"Stefan, I can forgive you for it all if you just come back home to with us" "FORGIVE ME!" Stefan shouts making her step back from him as she sees the look if pure rage on his face.
"yes I'll forgive you for leaving us when we needed you to be there, I-" She tries only to be interrupted by him shouting at her again.
"YOU CHOSE DAMON, My brother even after everything you knew about Katherine you still chose to do that to me and then you want to blame me for leaving you to your choice, YOUR CHOICE ELENA NOT MINE" Stefan says before stepping into her personal space.
"I have never thought I could hate you, Not sweet innocent human Elena, But you aren't her because she would of never done or said anything you just did, I'm done with you, I never want to see you ever again" Stefan says before flashing out of the bar and further away from the town square.
Stopping at the edge of a neighborhood he tried to control the emotions he's feeling to not lose his control near this many homes. But when the delicious scent of freshly drawn blood hits his nose he loses it flashing over to the young Italian woman who had accidentally caught herself on something inside her bag. His teeth ripping into the soft skin of her neck, Drowning himself in the crimson liquid and her screams.
"Hey you enough with the broody face, I have your favorite downstairs come on" Caroline says smiling at him from her bedroom door way, Making him smile up at her.
The hug came out of the blue but she quickly reciprocated before tugging him back downstairs and into the living room, Happy in her best friends company. She really did love him.
"Love you too care" Stefan says smiling over the rim of his root beer float, Causing her to blush lightly realizing she had said that out loud.
"Good because who else would be so kind to you" She says laughing as he pull her into a one armed hug.

The woman twisted from side to side, The soft silk sheet twisting and falling around her body as she thrashed in the bed. Her whimpered plea's coming out softly through her lips and her face was pulled into a deep pained frown.
"No No No, They can't die" She pants as she settles into the bed, Some blood running from her nose as the voices in her dream start arguing back to her.
Her body arches up of the bed her eyes rolling to the whites as she tries to fight against the witches. "NOOOOOOOOOOOO!" She suddenly screams from deep in her throat.
With her body falling back to the bed only to have the woman shoot up a few seconds later, Her eyes wide from terror sweat dripping from her causing her night tank top and shorts to stick to her glistening body.
Quickly she bolts from her bed to the open balcony allowing the night air to cool her skin, With a few deep breathes she starts packing only one destination in mind, To go home, To the place that filled her memories with more pain then happiness for the last remaining Bennett.
Taking out her phone she quickly calls for a cab. Knowing she has to go home Bonnie walks out of the bedroom and heads for the airport, Mystic falls here she comes.
