Life can be a lonely journey, Edith Macabe knows this all to well. Her sisters disowned her, her fathers distant at best. Her mother works all the time, AND to top it off she got kicked out of her last school. Edith is forced to suffer sophomore year in the fires of hell. This is an updated/totally flipped story. Warning: Smut, drugs, violence, Swearing. MA people. (paused)

2. Chapter 2

Chapter 2! yeah enjoy

(Edith's p.o.v)

I was just staring out the window during class, not really bothering to pay attention to anything the teacher said. Down below I watched the track team warm up for the yearly start of practice, as I was going my eyes were drawn to one boy. He was now in the center of the field running laps around the track, I don't really know what attracted me to him but for some reason I could not make my eyes look away. He had wavy brown hair, big strong arms... A perfect face and a VERY well-defined 8 pack, which I had the pleasure of seeing when he used his shirt as a towel. True and true he was an over-all good-looking guy, so I against my better judgement i sat there and watched him.

Not even bothering to hide it I rested my face on my hands. After clearing the course about 20 times in less than ten minutes he stopped to stretch. Okay now I could look away, with a bright blush I turned back to the board. Truthfully I was never one to just ogle someone before so this was really strange, but for some reason I really wanted to go talk to him.

My vibrating phone pulled me out of my ogling, I smiled like an idiot when I got the invite to our chat site. I was hit with six messages when I opened it. Angel, Maxine, Kelsey, Nicole, chrissie and Olivia were already talking.

My phone vibrates and my eyes are drawn back to the screen

I guess I had spent the entire class talking about tonight/Ogling Mystery man because I was scared out of my skin by the bell. Gathering up my books I quietly walked out of class, I pulled out my sheets and looked at my schedule.

Okay it would seem that I have English next and Math in third, okay so English would be in roo-

I was shocked out of my thoughts when I ran into something hard; a few seconds later I was on the floor and my books where everywhere else. With a groan I looked to see who I had hit "sorry" I say while holding my head "I really should watch where I'm walking"

"No, that was entirely my fault" a medium deep voice said, my vision clears and I finally see their face. It was a boy... well of course there are boys at this school Edith, duh! I just studied him for a few seconds and my mouth drops, oh my god is that? My face turns red as I realize THIS was the boy I had ogled for the past hour, he just smiles. I close my mouth and somehow find my voice.

"Um, hi?" I say, he smiles even bigger.

"Hi, there gorgeous. My names Ryan." he stands up and offers me a hand, oh my god I think my heart just melted. I take it and he pulls me up, eyeing me up and down "So, does a pretty girl like yourself have a name?" yep I just melted. I blush and look towards the floor.

"Um, my names Edith" I smile and look into his eyes.

"Edith" he smiles as it rolls off his tongue "I like that name" he walks around a bit and picks up my stuff "Sorry I ran into you" he smiles.

"It's fine and it was my fault too" I say and take my books.

I shyly dust some dirt off one book and make sure that there fine. I could hear him smirk at my shyness, the buzzing of a phone rang though the air. From the small groan I guessed it was Ryan, glancing up I saw him check his phone.

"Mother fucker" he growls, my eyebrows raise a bit. As if he forgot Ryan glances back at me before putting on a smile "Sorry gorgeous but I have to run, problem in the yard" he grabs my hand and places a kiss on my knuckles before turning around and running off. I stood there blushing like an idiot, my buzzing phone drew me to the present and I quickly walked down to the hall.

"Are you fucking kidding me?" a voice growls.

I glanced up as I turned the corner and literally had to jump back behind the wall, I did it so fast that I almost knocked myself to the floor. I hold my breathe and peek back around the hallway. My heart began to pick up speed. The bitch Madeline was face to face with a brunette, it was obvious from here that they were locked in a very heated discussion. I jumped as the brunette slammed Madeline into one of the lockers with a growl. Even though they were angry it was a relatively quiet fight, peeking around the corner I could only hear bits and pieces of their conversation.

"What wrong Sophia, your precious brain can't keep up with me?" Madeline smirks

"Don't fuck with me Maddie, you know damn well what I'm talking about" this girl- Sophia growls, Madeline makes a pouting face.

"Oh relax Soph, I'm just having a little fun"

Madeline tries to push herself off the locker but Sophia's hand slams her body back into the metal frame. The fight quieted down a bit but I could see Sophia sticking her finger threateningly in Madeline's face. Madeline would hit it out of the way and try to move but Sophia would grab her arm or push her back to the locker. This continued for a few seconds before I could hear again.

"I'm warning you Maddie"

"Don't fucking call me Maddie you bitch" Madeline growls and goes to hit Sophia but to my surprise Sophia's hand shots out and stops it mid-air.

Seconds later she curls in her wrist, Madeline cries out in pain as this curls her arm and forces her to spin around her body. Sophia then slams Madeline into the locker chest first and pins her other arm behind her back. She goes to speak but some how I had subconsciously moved so I was standing in the middle of the hallway and the loud gasp that left my lips had two shocked faces spinning in my direction. I could feel the blush creeping its way onto my face, I had just been caught eavesdropping but my body was frozen. Sophia goes to say something but Madeline uses this time to rip her arm out of Sophia's grasp and push her away, Sophia stumbles back in shock and I watch Madeline run away. Sophia's voice shocks me out of my funk.

"Get to class freshman" she growls before walking away.

I wanted to argue that I was a Sophomore but she was gone.

*GIRL WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU, CLASS STARTED 10 MINUTES AGO!* C

"Oh Fuck me" I gasp and run down the hall.

I walked into class and all eyes were instantly on me, I could feel a blush rising to my cheeks. Thank-fully we had a new teacher, I glanced at her for a second before putting on an apologetic face.

"Sorry I'm late, this school is SO confusing now" I say

It was true that I was new here, but I am Margo's younger sister and therefore meant I had been here before. I had to think quick and I figured using the excuss that the school re-numbered the rooms during the summer break was my best option. I stood there silently and held my breathe. She stared at me skeptically for a second, as if deciding if she liked my answer or not. Thankfully she sends me a small smile.

"It's fine dear" she replies, I glance at the board and see her name is Mrs. Reams "Even I get lost around here." I smile and take my seat "What your name dear?" she asks looking at the attendance

"Oh, uh. Edith Macabe" I say and open up my book, English was one of the subjects I really liked doing.

With my pencil ready she began the class, we just did simple things like reviews and a reading assignment. Much before I would have liked class was over and I had to walk off to math, I was okay at it but I was no 90 so it's not my favorite class. But the real reason I was happy was because after bio, lunch was next and I was dying to tell the girls what happened.

(Sophia's p.o.v)

I stormed down the hall way in a fury of rage and anger. Everyone stuck to either side of the hallway, with a growl I angrily punched the door to my private dressing room, the door swung open with a loud creaking sound before lodging itself into the wall. with another growl I used my foot to kick the door shut. A small smirk had me glaring at the giant love seat, my co-captain sat there. Her long blonde hair was pulled into a pony-tail and her cheer suit on her body, I rolled my eyes and she stared at me with a knowing smirk.

"Long day?" I wanted to walk over and punch that fucking annoying smirk off of Hailey's face but she stood up and walked to my locker. With a light spin she undid the lock and grabbed my cheer outfit. "Get dressed"

I roll my eyes and throw my outfit to the floor

"I don't even want to do this today" I sigh and plop down on the chair, hailey's eyes widen a bit but the smirk never left her lips.

"wow..." she says after a minute "It was that bad huh?"

I rolled my eyes

"Please, you don't know the half of it"

Hailey gave me a small smile before gripping my shoulder

"Well put on that outfit and come scream at us for an hour. It's a great stress reliever you know" I roll my eyes at that but I can't help the small smile that appears on my face. she pats my leg twice before spinning around to leave. I rolled my eyes for a fifth time but pulled off my shirt "hey Sophia?"

I glanced up to look a Hailey, she was half stopped in the door way

"yeah?"

"Don't let her get to you okay, she's really not worth it"

I forced a small smile on my face but sent a nod her way, when she left my shoulder slumped forwards and I heard a long sigh escape my lips.

"If only I could..."

(Edith's p.o.v)

I was in third period, bio... I wasn't paying attention to anything but the clock; counting down each second as everything else was nothing but a blur. Words would go in one ear and out the other, or well until I was put on the stop. I found that out when I was called in class, apparently teachers do pay attention.

"Edith, what is the answer?" I looked up at the board scanning the question she had put up. I wasn't joking when I said I really had not been paying attention to anything. I don't even know my teachers name.

"Um..." I say blanking on the question; the teacher goes to open her mouth when the bell rang.

I sighed loudly and sink into my seat, I was literally saved by the bell. In record time I had gathered up my stuff and was out the door before she could call on me again. I blended in with the loud herd of mindless zombies, AKA the other students. For most the first day back would be the worst. People not watching where they're going, people falling asleep in class. Others not paying attention in class, it was horrible. I tried to keep up with the present but my mind kept falling back to this morning, I could not get that fight out of my head.

"Hey, watch where your going" a female voices growls, I mentally swear as that was the fifth person I'd run into.

"Sorry" I sigh

After about five minutes and a quick stop to my locker I slipped into the commons, or the lunch room, or slime hole... whatever people want to call it. I swear this room has more names than a French dictionary but whatever. I just stood there for a few minutes before I spotted my brown-haired sex god... yes I just said that. Anyway he was sitting by the back wall; the table was full of other guys that I had never met before. but it's the start of the year so that's not a really big shock; I smiled and got in line. Sliding my grey tray down the line I grabbed a plate on mac-an-cheese, small salad and a cup of fruit. When I went to the checkout I grabbed a small milk carton, punching in 51089 the little machine beeped and I moved on. In our school we have automated machines that tally up our food money and we pay it off at the end of the year, that way everyone can get a lunch. I cannot tell you how many people would forget to bring their change to school. Then spend all lunch asking around till someone gives them money to make them shut up.

Glancing around the room my eyes caught Chrissies, with a large grin I was waved over. Carefully weaving in and out of students I finally made it to the table. I let out a loud sigh as I managed to do it with out spilling, angel smirks quietly and I glance down at the table with a blush.

"Relax will you" she laughs "It just takes practice"

I gave her a small smile before digging into my food. it was really good but I just couldn't get that fight out of my head.

"so what do we have planned this year?" Chrissie asked, angel rolls her eyes

"Well the science club wants to start some sort of traveling fair this year" the other girl roll their eyes "Um, the cheer club with obviously win, same with the football jocks"

As if on cue, the senior football team burst through the door. I cant help but cringe as the noise level dramatically increases.

"I heard we might be starting a new swimming club this year" Olivia says, my eyebrow rises at her tone.

"wow Livy, its as if your almost excited about that one" Nicole's says with a smile "Or maybe its just that hot new swimming instructor" she adds

I can't help but laugh as a bright blush starts rising up Olivia's neck and face

"Shut up!" she squeals loudly, this make us laugh harder.

Livy groans loudly and lets her head fall to the table.

"Hey" Maxine laughs "He is hot okay"

"Yeah" Chrissie sighs "I wouldn't mind a piece of that action" suddenly she slides really close to Livy "Do you think I could join you guys sometime?"

I rolled my eyes and bit into my food. The girls talked about useless stuff. Mostly about the party that I couldn't go to. Or hot boys. Suddenly Kelsey is sitting beside me.

"Okay, sense your new here... or well sort of I'll tell you the basics" she slid a large paper filled with writing over to me, with a second glance I saw it was actually the slime hole. "Okay so here's how it goes"

I tried to pay attention but I couldn't, my mind wander back to the conversation we had a few days earlier this morning. I glance at the ground and chew on my bottom lip. The blonde from the hallway had just walked into the cafeteria. my eyes wandered up her body slowly, the blonde was currently bulling some girl on the far end of the room.

flashback*

~one day before school~

We were all laying in the grass, the park was a few blocks away from my house. The girls and I were enjoying our last few hours of freedom before school stared, we had our bag of drugs and a end of summer treat. To me it was the perfect way to end the summer. I grabbed the joint from Chrissie and took in a long wonderful breathe of smoke.

"Hey guys" ask after I blow it out, they all look at me "Um who is that?"

The girls look up from their food before fallowing my finger to the far side of the park. I'm met with five kind of shocked faces before they smirk.

"That would be Madeline, she's the senior queen bitch. She's dating the captain of the football team" Angel replies

"Her father is one of the riches men alive" Chrissie adds while pointing a fork full of macaroni at my face, Angel smacks her in the arm and growls something like proper manners while eating.

"Why do you call her the queen bitch?"

Every girl (minus me) rolls her eyes.

"Because five years ago this building was going to be knocked down, her father spent a shit ton of money to fix it back up" Kelsey adds with yet again another eye roll.

"Wait Kelsey, isn't she your sister?" she sends me a disgusted face.

"No..." she growls, Livy rolls her eyes

"Legally they are HALF sisters yes, but shes refuses to admit that they are actually family."

"We are not family!" Kell's growls and slams her hand on the ground "I don't give a damn what the fucking law says, I am not related to that fucking whore. She is an absolute bitch to me and I would rather slit my own throat than call that devil my sister.

Every girls eyes widen dramatically. I stared at her for a second before having some more of my chocolate ice-cream. Maxi grabs her hand and whispered something in her ear. I don't know what it was but seconds later Kelsey let out a small giggle and continued eating her food. Maxi holds her hand for a second longer before glancing back at me.

"Why, is she fucking around with you?" Maxine asks, I could see a flash of anger behind her eyes.

"Um not exactly me..." I whisper "Um well I was late for class this morning because I stumbled upon Madeline and some girl fighting"

I'm met with five smirks

"Um Edith, you don't get the title "Queen bitch" for being nice to people" Maxine adds, I send her a blank stare.

"No it looked like she was really in trouble though" I say as I try to bring the topic back to the fight.

"Good" Livy growls "Its about damn time someone put that bitch in her place" I frowned at that

"Um, who is Sophia?" The second the name left my mouth i wished i hadn't said it, instantaneously every girl at the table stopped talking. Their eyes were wide as they glanced at in my direction.

"Was she the one fighting with Madeline?" Kelsey asked slowly

"Yes" I answer.

My eyes brow goes up a bit when Angel covers her mouth and whispers something into Chrissie's ear. Pushing past my better judgment I asked again

"Who is Sophia"

"She's just another senior here" Nicole finally answers,

I stared at the others in shock, it was like this was almost life threatening to tell me. The other girls wouldn't even look at me. One by one the girls leave until i'm left with Angel. I sat there and stared at her but she hid her face in her book. I sat up and turned to look in her direction more clearly. She must have felt my eyes because seconds later she let out a low painful sigh. What the hell? I glanced up as Angel grabs the bag of weed, my hand shoots out and grabs her arm.

"Angel what is wrong with you guys?"

She pauses a few steps away from me. As if deciding if its worth it or not. She says nothing at first, just stands there biting her lip. After thirty pain-painstakingly slow seconds later she glanced back at me.

"Edith, I love you as a friend. So please, that is not a fight you want to get into." she sighs and glances around the park "Madeline has a lot of power at school Edith, so if you value your health... you'll forget you ever saw that."

*end of flash back*

I glanced over to see Madeline staring at me, her manicured fingers tapping against her table. A shiver passed through my spine as she sent me a death glare. With an un-easy frown I stood up and put my half eaten food in the garbage. Fallowing my gut I left the slime hole. I could hear my friends concerned voices but I kept walking, I had to get out of this school. I had come here hoping for more answers, unfortunately I was more confused than ever.

What the hell was happening in this school?

Okay that's chapter two, R&R people. I really want to know what you think, so I'm not posting the third chapter until I get at least three comments from people. Loves you all, peace out peeps!
