CHAPTER 4

Morning. Gumball's pay… payed off. The 75% increase in payment was big at first look but considering the numbers, seventy five percent was a house - maybe a registered car - topped on his normal expenses. 1 year of waiting, he'd earn so much. Those artistic photography lessons he took back in high school were worth it after all. Thanks to Penny he took them…

The birds chirping and the silent putter of their neighbours car starting all seemed like a symphony in the cat's ears. The cats eyes opened to observe a beautiful ghost sleeping next to the feline. She was sleeping. Something rather uncommon for ghosts - considering they're already dead. That is, Carrie was born ghost. Gumball poked Carrie's nose.

"Hey, Carrie…" He smirked, facing his wife. "The cat wants to plaay-nya…"

The ghost yawned and opened her eyes, smiling - as much as Gumball was. She barely smiled, once-upon-a-time. She was a goth back in High School - believing everybody was against her. That was until Gumball came around. He treated her like a normal person, not caring about how the others treated her. The others… they were rather disconnected from Carrie. Although they called her their friend, they never hung out with her, leaving her to haunt the corridors of Elmore High School.

"What does the cat want today?" Carrie chuckled, stroking the fur of her husband.

"Pillow fight," Gumball smirked throwing a pillow over to Carrie. "HA!"

Carrie smirked, replying, with a ghostly aura surrounding her, "You shouldn't have done thaaaat…"

Pillows floated in the air. Gumball blinked.

"Shit."

One by one the pillows flew towards Gumball but somehow he would block all of them in an awkward fashion. In the end, Carrie threw herself towards Gumball and hugged him tight. The feline hugged her back, returning the favour. They loved each other very much… although… the ghost…

She had loved Gumball but, since the start, she was worried. The reason why she was reluctant to love the cat, from the start, was because she knew that a close friend of hers had loved him. Carrie would give up the relationship she treasures the most if this friend of hers were to come back. The only person who was invited that didn't come to the wedding. Penny.

"Mademoiselle… Are you alright now?" a French accented voice said.

Penny groaned, waking up on a couch in a room. She sat up and massaged her head. Her vision was blurry, along with an excruciating pain that ran left and right on her head. A bright light was shining a distance in front of her. Finally, a clear sight. She was in the studio. The previous photographer was there, along with another girl posing over a screen.

Saturdays were the busy days. It didn't help that the peanut was having the worst migraines in her whole life. She looked over to her cameraman and nodded. He shook his head. "Non… Non… You should rest and probably take Dimanche off too."

Penny nodded, with a slight smile. "Merci…"

She walked out of the studio and sat on the seat by the bus stop. The peanut pulled her legs towards her and hid her face. She was stressed… She'd usually take a ride back to her mother and father's house and there she'd be relieved by the warmth of her mother's words. But, Penny had left them. She only had herself to live with.

"Hey, Penny…" a familiar voice stated. "You alright there?"

She looked up to see a blue cat sitting next to her. She was startled but then she looked away. He chuckled and offered her an earphone.

"I'm guessing it's a headache," Gumball snickered. "Listen to this - it helps a lot."

Penny put the earphone in her ear and just heard something like an alien saucer whirring from a certain height. Surprising enough, her migraine was going away. She looked over to Gumball and smiled.

"Hehe!" Gumball smirked, walking off. "I'll be over at the studio. I'll see you tomorrow, I guess!"

I know I said my quote unquote last words a few thousand years ago but I really wanna continue this story so badly. Man, don't forget to fave and follow this story, and I give a guarantee that I'll write a new chapter to this story! Peace! ;D (Oh, I might update Chapter 4 coz I don't have word count on my phone and I have a 1000 word minimum.)
