Dean was the first one up the next morning. He left the hotel room as quietly as possible as not to wake Sam. Poor kid was so exhausted, usually he was up way before Dean was. Goes to show how tired Sammy must have been last night. Dean would let him grab a few more hours of sleep, while he went to see if he could round up some food.
Dean stepped out of the room and popped his back. It hurt like a bitch from sleeping on that old lumpy matriss. He already missed his water bed at the fancy hotel back home. Crappy hotels, you got a love them. Not.
Dean made his way to the front desk and asked the young teenager that was working if he knew where any good grub was. The chick told him about some fast food joint a few blocks down the street, blushing and stammering while looking Dean over shyly. Dean gave the girl a smirk in thanks, laughing on the inside when the young girl blushed a even deeper shade of cherry red. It was so fun to mess with people.
Dean took off walking down the street, suddenly missing his baby even more. He'd have to get a car as soon as possible, because he certainly wasn't walking everywhere he went. Hopefully he was able to find one that didn't look like crap like most cars did. Nothing would replace his car though. He just might have to steal from this universe's Dean.
Dean found a restaurant that had a drive through and bought himself a double bacon cheeseburger and Sam something with a lot of green. Dean quickly went back to the motel, finding Sam still asleep. Deciding that he shouldn't let Sam's food get cold, Dean walked up to the side of the bed and shook Sam awake.
"Get up, I got some food. Had to walk to find it, so you better eat it" he said when Sam opened his eyes and looked blearily up at him.
Sam rubbed his eyes and sat up, grabbing his sandwich and mumbling his thanks at Dean.
Once Sam got up, he sat the back down and got out of his own sandwhich, almost moaning when he took a bite of it. It had been so long since he had tasted one of these little beauties; the Croats weren't very good for business.
The food was gone all to soon, and Dean could feel Sam watching him. Dean rolled his eyes to himself, he should've of known Sam wouldn't let that conversation from last night.
Sam opened his mouth, but Dean interrupted him even before he could begin talking "We already talked about this Sam, and the answer is still no." Dean crossed his arms.
"But Dean, how else are we supposed to get back to our universe! We don't even have a car!" Sam said, pleadingly staring at Dean.
"No, Sam! I told you last night, we'll figure something else out! We always did all the jobs on our own when we were hunting; we can do this by ourselves too" Dean said, staring back at Sam stubbornly.
Sam ran his hands through his hair in frustration, but after a few more seconds of staring his brothers unwavering black eyes, he sighed. "Fine, Dean, we won't tell anyone else we're here. But I'm telling you, this isn't going to work out. Eventually someone's going to realize we're here, and it wont be pretty when they do" Sam told Dean warningly.
Smirking a little at Sam, Dean rolled his eyes "We'll be fine, quit acting like a bitch." he said turning around and going toward the door.
Sam raised an eyebrow curiously "Where you going?" he asked.
Dean looked over his shoulder with a grin and a gleam in his eyes that made the hair on his arms stand up; he recognized that look.
"I'm going to get us a ride" Dean grinned, proving Sam's fears right as he walked out the door.
Sam stood up quickly "Dean…!" he yelled as he ran out the door after his brother.
"Dean, did you really have to do that" Sam asked about thirty minutes later as they drove down the road in the car his brother had...borrowed. The exasperation in his tone was only half hearted, and he knew Dean could hear the slight amusement mixed with a little gratefulness in his voice.
Dean gave him a grin that was not the least bit sorry; but Sam hadn't really expected him to be. After all, the guy Dean had stolen this car from had been a jerk. To be more precise, the reason that Dean stole the before mentioned jerk was because he'd been a major ass to Sam. When he'd chased after his brother, he'd accidently bumped into someone hard enough to knock them down. Before he got the chance to apologize, the man had stared cussing him out and telling him that he was going to 'make him hurt'. Sam wasn't the least bit intimidated, after all, his brother was a demon, and told the man that he hadn't meant to bump into him, and that he was going to apologize, but there was no reason to act like such an ass about it, and then proceed to continue after his brother, only to stop short when he saw Dean standing a few meters away, giving the man a glare that could kill.
Needless to say, he and Dean now had a ride, and the before mentioned ass did not.
"Come on, Sam! That by was being a complete jackass! He deserved what he got." Dean said, looking over at his brother. Sam rolled his eyes, but stayed silent for awhile.
"...Yeah, okay, he did kind of deserve it. Hopefully he'll learn to be more polite in the future" Sam conceded.
Dean smirked "I doubt, that guy obviously isn't very smart, he did threaten someone wo was a foot taller then he was, Gigantor." Dean ponted out, smirk still firmly in place.
Sam just rolled his eyes again, smiling at Deans antics.
Not long after that, Sam was watching the land flash by out the window, when Dean suddenly started cursing. Sam turned with a questioning look, but immediately became worried when he spotted the look on his brothers face.
"What is it?" Sam asked grimly.
"There's a freaking cambion in the town ahead!"
Sam face turned grim. "How do you know" he asked seriously, one of his hands gripping his door.
"I can freak'in sense it! There isn't other demon's around, but that might change! If I can sense him, then other demons can too!" Dean jerked the driving wheel, and the car swerved on the road as Dean sped up.
"I hate to get involved, but if another demon gets ahold of that cambion shit is gonna fly." Dean growled, gunning the engine.
Sam stared out the window grimly, a peculiar feeling rising within him. They had better get to that cambion soon...if not...well, it wouldn't be very good. That, he was certain of
A few miles away, another pair of brothers were driving down a road in a old Impala and talking about their current gig, having no idea how much their lives would be flipped upside down in just a few hours.
