Hi all! You have been so amazing with this story that I'm rewarding you now with another chapter. Please keep supporting this story!

Later that night, after all their friends had gone home and Al had gone to bed in the Pierce-Houlihan guestroom, Margaret and Hawkeye finally had a chance to relax and unwind. Hawkeye looked exhausted, but happy. He had had a very good day, despite his father-in-law's appearance.

"Margaret, do you really think you and your dad will be ok?"

Margaret sat next to Hawkeye on the couch and smiled, "Yeah, better than ever actually. We had a good talk and we both want to work on our relationship."

"That's great. It's just so wonderful to see you so happy."

Margaret began fidgeting, wringing her hands and biting her lip. Hawkeye knew something was not quite right.

"Sweetheart, are you ok? You look, I don't know, nervous? Anxious?"

Margaret took her hands and grabbed Hawkeye's. She had not wanted to tell him their news that day, but it felt right. And, regardless, she really wanted her husband with her when the results came.

"I'm fine, but you're right, I'm nervous. There's something I have to tell you, but I don't know how you'll react."

Hawkeye squeezed his wife's hands, "You can tell me anything you know? I won't get upset or angry, I promise."

"Well, I'm late."

"Late? For what?"

"Late late. You know? I've had no visitor come for the last two months. I'm irritable and tired too."

"Are you having gallbladder issues again?"

Margaret rolled her eyes. She realised that she would have to be more specific, otherwise Hawkeye would be guessing everything but pregnancy all night.

"No, my gallbladder's fine. Hawkeye, I'm late. We're married. We have sex. Remember when I threw up a couple of months ago when I got food poisoning? Well, I think that might have caused some issues."

Hawkeye's brain suddenly clicked, "You mean you're pregnant? Having baby? My baby?"

Margaret smiled and nodded, "I think so. I've had the blood tests. The results come in in a few days. I want you there with me when I get them. Are you ok with this? I mean, if I'm pregnant?"

Hawkeye got up and paced around their living room, "I'm nervous Margaret, anxious really. Will I be able to be a dad? I mean, after what I went through in Korea?"

"Hawkeye, are you at least a bit excited about this? We can work through everything else, but I need you to want this too."

Hawkeye walked over to his wife and smiled, "I'm so excited right now. I'm sorry I haven't been good at showing it. I just think the nerves have taken over. I want this baby. I want all this with you. I want our family. You may need to help me though, I don't know how I'll cope at the start."

"Hawk, if the test is positive, I'll speak to Sidney ok? He can help you through this, I know he'll want to."

"Ok, I know you're right. Now, let's start getting excited for our little bundle of joy!"
