Four months later
Margaret was having an easy pregnancy, although she was growing very quickly in size. According to her doctor, the baby was perfectly healthy. Hawkeye had been a wonderful father-to-be, taking care of his wife and setting up a nursery for their child. At times Hawkeye still doubted himself, but he felt more confident as time passed.
"Hawkeye, could you please bring me a cup of tea?" Margaret then waddled to the lounge.
"Sure, I'll have it ready for you in a few minutes."
Hawkeye began preparing tea and toast for the both of them. He knew his wife would be hungry soon.
As Hawkeye served the tea and toast to his wife, the doorbell rang, "I'll get it Margaret. You stay right here and rest."
Hawkeye ran to the door and was incredibly surprised when he opened it. Colonel Potter and his wife Mildred were standing right there in front of him.
"Colonel, how are you? What are you doing here? I'm so happy to see you!" Hawkeye hugged his old commanding officer. "Mrs Potter, you look fantastic!" Hawkeye then approached her for a hug and kiss on the cheek.
"Hawkeye, the missus and I decided to trek it over here to the East Coast to see you and Margaret. After all, we're going to be honorary grandparents! Mildred wanted to see if she could help. We hope that's ok with you."
Hawkeye smiled widely, "Are you kidding?! Margaret will be thrilled! Come on, come in."
As they walked into the house, Margaret approached them. Obviously her curiosity had gotten her to get up from her seat.
"Colonel! Mrs Potter! I'm so so happy to see you both!" Margaret grabbed them both in a hug.
Mildred smiled sweetly at the woman she had come to think of as a surrogate daughter, "We're happy to be here my dear. We just want to be here with you to support you. We know BJ and his family are nearby, but they have little Erin to take care of. We have all the time in the world to be here with you."
As Margaret and Mildred walked off to the living room to chat about all things pregnancy and baby, Hawkeye and the Colonel went outside for a walk.
"Hawkeye, how are you doing? Last time we spoke you said you were not as scared of being a father anymore."
"I have good and bad days, but the good days outnumber the bad. I've been speaking to Sidney once a week over the phone and he said he will be visiting closer to Margaret's due date. I've progressed a lot really. I love Margaret and I love this baby. I need to and will be there for the both of them."
The Colonel smiled and affectionately squeezed Hawkeye's shoulder, "You will be a wonderful father. I can see it now. I'm excited about being a grandfather again, let me tell you."
As both men got closer to the Pierce home, they saw their wives sitting outside on the porch talking animatedly. Hawkeye couldn't believe how lucky he was. He had a wife that loved him, a beautiful baby on the way and the best honorary parents he could ever have hoped for. He couldn't wait until this baby was born.

Thanks for reading! Next I think I'll delve into the delivery of the baby, with Sidney being there for support. Maybe the rest of the gang will be there too. Who knows? If you have any suggestions, please PM me.
