A soft breeze brought the scent of river down by flat rock. A fox furred she kit bounced around cheerfully, " MUMMY! MUUMY! TODAY IS THE DAY! THE DAY I BECOME AN APPRENTICE! ARE YOU PROUD OF ME?!" She yowled with pure pleasure. A beautiful light gray she cat look at the kit "congrats.." She hissed half heartedly. A ginger colored she cat flicked her tail angrily "Graymist! You must treat the poor kit better!" She hissed. Graymist lowered her voice so only the the ginger she cat could hear "she is not my kit Gingerheart..." she replied defensively. A pure black Tom hopped out of his nest to the fox furred kit, "Hi Dawnkit." He meowed. The she kit looked at him cheerfully "Hello Nightkit! CanYouBelieveWeAreGoingToBeApprentices!" She meowed quickly. "YUSSS!"

"All cats old even to swim gather under Riverstone for a clan meeting!" Yowled Redstar, leader of StormClan ( descendants of RiverClan ). Cats scrambled under a large rock romped many moons ago by a river. "Today I have gathered all of you to do one of my favorite duties..." He trailed off. Nightkit and Dawnkit bounced around like frogs. "Nightkit!" Redstar meowed in a full voice. Nightkit run under the rock, "Nightkit do you promise to uphold the warrior code no matter what?" Redstar meowed. Nightkit nodded "I do!", "then from now untill you become a full warrior of StormClan you will be known as Nightpaw!" He meowed. Nightpaws eyes glee with joy. Redstar looked out to the sea of pelts, "your mentor will be... Ashfire!" Redstar finished. The light in Nightpaw's eyes had vanished, he had gotten the meanest cat in the clan as a mentor! He dragged himself to the gray she cat and put his nose to her as he was supposed to. "Dawnkit!" Redstar meowed proudly. Dawnkit sprinted under Riverstone, "Dawnkit, do you promise to uphold the warrior code no matter what?" Redstar meowed a tinge louder. "I do!" Dawnkit meowed. "Than from now until you become a full warrior of StormClan you will be known as Dawnpaw, your mentor will be Sweetfur!" He finished proudly. Dawnpaw happily bounced to Sweetfur, she had gotten the nicest warrior in all the clans as a mentor!" Dawnpaw looked at Nightpaw with a pity full look, 'I wonder if Nightpaw will be OK with Ashfire as a mentor...' She thought
