Chapter 2: If you believe in Yourself, You can do anything

ChiChi wore her favorite outfit, a long-sleeved pink shirt with a grey skirt and matching pink shoes and hat. Although the shirt and skirt were old-fashioned, and the pink shoes were losing their original color, ChiChi loved this outfit. She wasn't going to work today, and her step-mother begged her to go out and have some fun with her friends. ChiChi didn't know why everyone makes a big deal out of it, but this day is supposed to be very special to a person. Thus, Mrs. Robinson called ChiChi's best friend, Bulma Briefs, and told her to meet ChiChi at a nearby café. And so, ChiChi is heading towards that café now.

'I hate this day.' She thought as she turned a left and got into a dark alley, 'I don't remember seeing this alley before…' She cocked her head to one side, feeling the tiniest bit of fear as she studied the appearance of the passage more closely. The whole place was pitch-black although it was only nine o'clock; she could barely make out anything, but being the confident lady she is, she stepped towards it valiantly.

As if on cue, a spot of light appeared on the wall and out of it, the ugliest creature ChiChi had ever seen crawled out. The being was green and small. It had no ears but had blood-red eyes. Behind it, numerous others were following the first one. ChiChi stepped back, and the creatures moved toward her while emitting nasty growls and snarls. ChiChi gasped when one of the creatures jumped at her. She quickly moved back wards just in time to see another one lunge at her again. Having no other choice, ChiChi turned around and ran in any direction, fleeing for her life. Then, she ran into some gaurds.

"Something is following me!" she practically yelled in their face in her panic.

"Calm down, lady." One of the guards said as he chuckled, "I'm sure whatever it is will escape once it sees us. We're big strong men you know." The guard continued brawly. He put his arm around ChiChi's shoulders. ChiChi shrugged his arm off; her face was showing her anger clearly. Those guards were idiots!

"Careful Brad. You're making the cute mouse angry." Another guard joked. The other laughed along with him.

"I would rather keep my mouth shut if I were you." A voice said as a man approached the three, "We were just going to have some breakfast, weren't we?" he directed his gaze to ChiChi. He put an arm around her shoulders as he led her away with no further comment to or from the guards.

"I know you're being followed." He said when he was sure they were out of the guards' earshot, "So I suggest you follow me and do exactly as I tell you if you want to live through the day that is." He said with an easy-going smile while ChiChi looked at him with wide eyes, noting that the man was handsome. She nodded her head vigorously. Just then, the green things came back and started chasing the duo. The tall man walked faster, making ChiChi walk with him, until they started sprinting!

"You have to trust me now and don't let go." He informed her.

"I only just met you. I don't even know your name!" she exclaimed.

"Oh, I'm sorry about that, but there's no time for introductions now! When we're in a safe place, we'll talk." He said while smiling. Then, ChiChi realized that she wasn't feeling the ground under her. Therefore, she looked down and was surprised to see what awaited her. She grabbed on to the man next to her fearing her safety.

"I should have told you, haven't I?"

"DON'T LET GO!" she pleaded afraid of falling from this guy's grasp as he flew them over the city. She imagined a possible scenario of what might happen.

"Don't worry I won't let go." He said as he held her steadily. ChiChi grabbed onto the man as hard as she could. ChiChi could feel that the man's hands were getting sweaty but thought nothing of it. Suddenly, the sweat on his hand was too much, and made him let go of the woman.

"Ah!" she held on to the man harder.

"Calm down, I swear I'm not going to let you fall." The man said whilst the woman yanked harder and harder.

"Get me down now! NOW!" she yelled in his sensitive ear. The two landed on a balcony, but the creatures were nowhere to be found. ChiChi panted, out of breath. The man looked at her blankly.

"My name's Goku." He said as he shook the girl's hand.

"I'm ChiChi." Goku smiled at the name. 'Good, she's not the wrong girl.'

"How can you do that?" she asked him, curiosity evident on her features.

"Do what?" he asked blinking unknowingly.

"You were flying!" she exclaimed unbelievingly.

"Oh. Everyone can do it." He said with a wave of his hand.

"Everyone? Even me?"

"Anyone can as long as they believe in themselves." He said with a bright smile, "Your birthday is today isn't it?" he asked.

"How did you know that?" she asked instantly becoming suspicious.

"I know a lot of things about you ChiChi." He explained, "You know me too. I'm sure you remember me." ChiChi furrowed her eyebrows, "Maybe you don't yet but you will."

"Huh?" she blinked rapidly. Goku shook his head.

"Always remember ChiChi. You can do anything if you just believe in yourself." He said as he gave her a box, "Happy Birthday." And with that, he jumped from the balcony, letting his tail flow freely behind him as he flew away. ChiChi stared after him, 'I wonder where he's going now.' She looked at her watch.

"Oh no!" she exclaimed, "Bulma will be very angry!" she quickly made her way out of the building and towards the café. Once she entered, she spotted her friend sitting at their usual table in the back, away from everyone. Her beautiful blue-haired friend seemed anything but pleased.

"God morning, Bulma." She greeted politely.

"Good morning? It's half past twelve ChiChi!" Bulma exclaimed angrily, "You made me wait here for three hours!" ChiChi scratched the back of her head guiltily.

"I'm so sorry Bulma, but something happened along the way, and there was this guy-"

"There's a guy?" Bulma asked her features lighting up. ChiChi nodded.

"Tell me about it ChiChi, and I'll forgive your tardiness." She said happily.
