Aster growled softly as he lifted a limply sleeping Jack into his arms, the boy suddenly sighing and curling up, nuzzling his cold nose into the warm ruff of fur on Aster's chest. Aster couldn't help but give an almost purring, teeth-chitter sound. He palmed his back and squeezed him closer. ears laying back and eyes narrowing as he noticed a feminine figure at a small distance. The trees swayed and the rustling of leaves almost sounded like laughter. He huffed and nodded his head in a polite bow, a bit intimidated. A path seemed to open where the figure disappeared and he figured it was a none too subtle hint to -leave-.

Which he did gratefully.

He slid down his tunnel to his warren, trotting over to the large tree with a deep groove in the roots where the grass grew a little longer into a nest like shape. Settling him down, he brushed the frost that had already started creeping over his fur. He didn't notice the cold, his fur adequately sheltering him for now. With a stretch he leaned over the sleeping form, a hand on either side of his shoulders and knees on either side of his hips. He made another rumbling sound as he rubbed his chin over the sprites silvery head. Sighing after a bit he backed off and sat, contentedly watching -his- sprite slowly frost over the nest in -his- warren.

It felt good to have him back in the safety of his home.
