Ran opened his eyes and and saw nothing. No one was around.
He sat up and was surprised to actually see. He looked down at his hands and, even in the dark, he could see them perfectly. Every detail, every scar.
He looked up and saw that he was in some kind of sewer. He walked forward in the darkness. He looked around him, and saw doors lining the wall.
"Come here brat." A deep and loud voice called from the end of the hall in surprising English. Ran followed the hall and found himself in a room, nothing could be seen except a large cage door and water on the ground.
"I don't know how you got in here, or why, but since you're here I might as well thank you." The voice said. Ran looked at the cage closer and saw a pair of giant eyes and a mouth.
"Thank me? Why? And how is it that I can see?" Ran asked the thing. It chuckled at him.
"Thank you for caring for the kit. He needed someone. You can see because you are in your subconscious. Also, for reasons unknown, you are in the kit's body." The thing said.
"Who are you and why are you in Naruto-sama's body?" Ran asked the thing. It started to laugh.
"I like you kid." It said as it tried to gather it's breath.
"I was sealed into the kit's body when he was born. I am the Nine-Tailed Fox."He told Ran. Ran grinned.
"I guess that there are two sides to the story." He said. The fox smirked.
"Maybe more then two. Anyways, there is something that is bothering me." The fox said, his smirk growing. Ran raised an eyebrow.
"What's that?" He asked.
"Why are there two of you?" The fox asked as he grinned at the stunned boy. A cough was heard and Ran turned around to see another him.
He was older then Ran remembered himself, but then he hadn't seen himself in over ten years so that is to be expected.
"What?" Was all he could say as the two looked each other over.
"I was just walking when I heard you talking. I have no idea how I got here." The second Ran said. A cry was heard and the two took off to find it. They didn't have to go far before finding Naruto hugging a terrified Konohamaru.
"Naruto-sama!" The two Rans called out as they ran to the pair. Konohamaru and Naruto looked up at them and their eyes widened.
"There are two of you!" Konohamaru said. The first Ran sighed and started to speak Japanese.
"I don't know why. But I have to say, I like being in my subconscious. I can see here." He said as he grinned at the two. The other Ran grinned as well.
"You're different." Konohamaru said. "See, one of you has an orange collar and the other has a navy blue one." Konohamaru told them.
The first Ran looked at his and it indeed was orange. The others was blue with a silver tag that was blank.
His own tag was yellow with a black 欄on it, whatever that was.
"When Konohamaru and I both touched the collar at the same time, it must have split you in two. Probably so that you don't have to listen to two masters." Naruto said, Konohamaru looked at him with a grin.
"I didn't know you were so smart." He told him.
"It looks like you have to name me." The second Ran said.
"Fui." Konohamaru told them. After he said this something burned itself onto Fui's collar. 不意.
As soon as that was done, they all blacked out.
Upon waking, they found that they were sleeping on the bench in the park, no time has noticeably passed. The only major difference was that Fui was sitting back to back with Ran on the ground in front of them. Both boy woke to show that they were still blind. Konohamaru was looking at the two with awe.
"Well Fui, welcome to the family." Naruto told him, unable to keep the giddiness hidden.

Fui, I found it by typing in random letters into Google translate on Japanese to English. It means Unexpected.
