Hours had passed since Kita and Nobu's arrival at the hospital. Thankfully neither of them had any serious injuries. Kita had a few cuts from the glass and a concussion from being thrown against the wall. Nobu was just going to have a sore jaw for a few days. The doctors told Kita to come back if she developed a severe headache but otherwise the two were free to go home. Kita had already given a report to the police while awaiting results from her tests. Kita and Nobu were told that she could go to the apartment to get her belongings. Kei was going to be held until later that morning.

Nobu and Kita took a taxi to Kita's apartment, Since Kita had keys they did not need to break in. Kita led Nobu up to her apartment.

"Thank you for coming with me Nobu." Kita smiled lightly at him as they walked into the apartment.

"No problem." Nobu looked around the apartment, the blood stains and broken glass a frightening reminder.

"I'm going to go get dressed out of these clothes, I'll be right back." Kita slipped into the back bedroom.

Nobu looked around the apartment, waiting for Kita to come out of the bedroom.

After a few minutes Kita stepped out of the bedroom dressed in black shorts and a purple long sleeve shirt under a black, silver studded, unzipped vest. She also had on a pair of black heels.

She came out with a black backpack filled with all of her belongings. She did not have much, just clothes and her art supplies. "Sorry I took so long." Kita walked over to Nobu.

"Oh no you were really quick, and I don't mind waiting." Nobu smiled. "Come on lets go drop your things off at Hachi's."

Kita nodded and followed Nobu out of the apartment and into a waiting taxi. During the taxi ride there was a silence between the two. Kita kept peeking over at Nobu who was smiling, looking out the window. She could not help but wonder what he was thinking about. Kita blushed and returned her gaze back out the window, not wanting him to see her looking at him.

The taxi stopped in front of Hachi's building. Nobu paid the driver and thanked him before he followed Kita into the building and upstairs to Hachi's apartment. Nobu knocked on the door.

Hachi opened the door with a smile. "Hey guys come on in." Hachi let the two into the apartment.

"Thank you again for letting me stay here again." Kita smiled. Hachi had called her while in the hospital to let Kita know that she could stay there when she got out.

"Not a problem Kita, we have plenty of room until you find a place." Hachi smiled. "Here let me bring your things to your room." Hachi bowed and took Kita's bag to the spare bedroom.

"Thank you again Nobu...for everything...and I'm sorry that Kei hit you." Kita apologized, something that she found herself doing a lot.

"It's alright, the guy was a jerk. But I should get going home. Get some rest." Nobu smiled an gently touched Kita's arm before slipping out of the apartment.

Kita was left blushing. Something about Nobu made her feel happy and safe. It was an experience completely new to her.

"Hey Kita would you like something to drink?" Hachi stepped out of the spare bedroom, having seen everything between Kita and Nobu.

"O-Oh sure." Kita smiled, having snapped out of her daze.

Kita sat down at the table by the window as Hachi poured them both a glass of water.

"So when did you move here?" Hachi asked as the put the water pitcher back into the refrigerator.

"I moved here when I was nineteen to per-sure Kei's music career." Kita smiled.

"Have you thought about pursuing an art career? I mean you really are talented." Hachi smiled.

"Oh, no. It's more of a hobby. Besides they are not anything special." Kita walked into the spare room and returned with her sketchbook. Kita sat back down across from Hachi and opened her sketchbook. "I'd often show them to Kei but he never really cared for them...then again he never really cared for anything I did for him. " It always seemed that nothing she did was good enough for him. She would cook and clean for him but there would always be something he would find wrong.

"That's terrible." Hachi gasped.

"Kita!" A small voice cheered as Satsuki rushed out of her room.

"Hello Satsuki." Kita smiled down at the little girl.

"Mommy said that you weren't feeling well, are you okay?" Satsuki looked curiously up at Kita.

"Oh yes I am feeling much better now. Here I drew you something." Kita flipped back to the last page in her sketchbook. Since the last time she saw Hachi and Satsuki, Kita had been working on a free hand on a colored drawing of Hachi holding Satsuki. The drawing had so much detail, down to the glint of light in each of their eyes. Hachi was dressed in a pink dress and Satsuki in a purple dress in the picture. The two had big smiles on their faces.

"Mommy Mommy it's us!" Satsuki cheered.

"Oh my gosh it is beautiful!" Hachi looked in shock at the beautiful picture of herself with her daughter. She did not have many pictures of the two of them together so this was a beautiful picture to hang on the wall.

"I am glad you like it. It is the least I could do for your hospitality that night. If I had not seen you I was going to mail it." Kita smiled as she tore the page out and handed it to Hachi who quickly hung it up on the wall with thumb tack.

"Satsuki how about you got dressed." Hachi smiled as Satsuki skipped back into the other room.

"So how was the cab ride with Nobu?" Hachi smiled, acting like a teenager looking for gossip.

"Oh it was nice, rather quiet though." Kita was not sure what Hachi was trying to find out. "So if you do not mind me asking, where is your husband?" Kita knew that Hachi was married or at least engaged based on the large ring on her finger.

"Oh he is out with his friends touring China. He is coming home next week." Hachi smiled.

"I should be out by then hopefully, I have a good amount of money saved up. I was able to hide some of my earnings that I made by selling art from Kei. It is about 972,200 Yen, I have been saving since we moved here." Kita smiled.

"Great! I mean you don't have to rush out, but I do remember the excitement of finding a place to call my own, even though I ended up living with Nana." Hachi chuckled.

"I will hopefully find a good place tomorrow and get the paperwork going." Kita smiled.

"Things will be so much more relaxing when you have a safe and happy home to call your own." Hachi smiled, knowing Kita will be okay now that she was away from that monster...
