Chapter 8

Enemy in the Mist

Kurenai's PoV

"What was that?" I asked.

"I…I'm not sure…" Kakashi said. All of the sudden a giant sword came out of nowhere and attacked Kakashi. He skillfully dodged the blade, then a man in a dark coat with bright red clouds outlined in white came out of the dense foggy forest.

"Good to see you. Kurenai and Kakashi…." The man said smirking.

"Kisame…" Kakashi said getting in front of me to protect me. "Stay behind me Kurenai. I don't want you to get hurt."

"I don't want you hurt either Kakashi!" I said worried about him.

"Don't worry you both will die here. The mission you are on? It's all a fake. Just a way for me to get you both out here. I knew that idiot hokage would send you together." Kisame said getting into a fighting stance.

Kakashi got into a fighting stance and they both looked at each other for a while, until Kisame came right for me. I froze up, I thought about Asuma, I wanted to see him….But I thought about how heartbroken Kakashi would be if I would've left him...but before I could get to my kunai Kakashi had already gotten in front of me and took Kisame's blow, blocking it.

"I'm sorry Kakashi….I shouldn't have frozen up like that…." I said apologetically.

"It's fine Kurenai…All I want is you to be safe." He said. I could tell he was smiling under that mask.

Kisame grabbed me from behind, he held his sword to my throat. Kakashi glared at him and went to attack.

"Ah Ah Ah…U attack me, I kill her. Get how this works?" Kisame said with a smirk.

Kakashi looked at me worried at first, but I looked at him with a determined look. He nodded then took his headband off his eye. After a few minutes kisame gave up the fight. Kakashi was too strong for him…my Kakashi. When Kisame left I looked at Kakashi, but all the sudden I felt strange. My head was spinning I blacked out.

Kakashi's PoV

I caught Kurenai as she fell. I didn't know what had happened, but I knew one thing. I needed to get her to the hospital. I rushed her to the nearest hospital…which was the leaf village. When I got there they put her under high priority. They rushed her back to a room, and I saw lady Hokage go and evaluate her personally. When I tried to go in with her, people kept me out.

"Let me see her!" I begged.

"Sorry sir, we can't let you see her right now." A medic said.

"Why not? What's wrong with her?! Someone give me some answers!" I begged.

"Sir, she'll have to tell you on her own. I'm sorry…" The medic said.

My mind was racing what was wrong with my wife. What'd that man do?! I'd kill him if he hurt my wife!

After Several hours the medics finally let me in. I ran in and hugged her tightly.

"Kurenai! I'm so happy you're ok….what happened? Why did you pass out?" I asked concerned.

"Kakashi….sit down…." She said. I looked at her confused then sat down beside her bed holding her hand in mine.

"Kakashi…we are going to have a baby." She said smiling.
