"oow Johnny boys got taste" he said smiling at her. Joanna looked past him seeing Logan stood behind Victor his blades were out , that was the last thing she saw as she was tossed to one side. Joanna tried to get up but her arms shook under weight. It was then she heard a sound close by and arms wrapped around her she cried out at the pain she felt herself being lifted.

" do not fret I am ze friend of Logan" she heard a German accent then a pull as she was moved quickly to some place cold.

" L..Logan... where's Logan." she asked as she felt her energy leave her and darkness take over. When she opened her eyes again she ached but her cuts were gone. Slowly she sat up.

"Hey slowly kiddo" she heard Logan's voice and felt his arms around her.

" I'm fine" she said but she wasn't Sabretooth had made her scared for the first time in her time at the school. He looked down at her and their eyes met " okay he scared me" she told him looking own at her side she saw the bandage that sat where he had cut her. " God damn it, another scar" she said now angry. " Why me Logan, why is he picking on me" she said trying to get out of his grip but failing as Logan held her too tight as she fought against him. Soon she could not fight any more and stopped just looking up at him. "You going to let me go?" she asked but he shook his head then scooped her up bridal style into his arms as he looked at her.

" I'm neva gonna to let ya go Joanna" he said knowing she only meant for the moment, he on the other hand meant longer. " he wants ya for his mate, he can't accept that..." he paused seeing her yawn and feeling her lean against him. " He's trying ta get to me threw you, coz he knows hurtin' you is as good as hurtin' me." he told her as he could see her eyes closing slowly. " ya tired Joanna ya need ta sleep" he said and walked to the bed he lay her down but as soon as he let go he could see her face contort with the start of a nightmare and he smiled one of his rare smiles. Slipping off his boots and shirt he moved to lay behind her not that made any difference for as soon as he covered them both he felt her turn and snuggle against his chest.

" so..(yawn)..still doesn't..(yawn)..answer why he..(yawn).. attacks me" She said barely above a whisper her eyes closed as he chuckled and moved to caress her head gently. Logan gave a deep sigh and moved to whisper softly to her.

"He does it... because your my mate." he said softly Joanna gave a soft 'ow' and fell into a deep sleep. Logan just chuckled and watched her as he brushed her hair off her face she was sleeping soundly " I knew it as soon as you walked in threw that door." he said softly and she shifted gently against him. He knew he would have to explain it to her , hell he needed it explained to himself first.

Next morning Joanna woke to the smell of fresh coffee and food on a try by the bed a note sat with it, 'Sorry I couldn't be there for when you woke will see you later, Eat. Logan'. Joanna shook her head and sat up taking the coffee cup she blew over it and drank loving the taste as she drank. Soon she showered and dressed into a pair of jeans and tee shirt. Her hair she pulled back into a ponytail once she had dried it. Joanna sat down on the bed and shook her head, something had changed inside her, something...feral ow surfaced and all it wanted was to find Logan. Joanna stood up and grabbed her coat now at first heading out to the forest at the back of the school but she stopped and shook her head heading instead to Xavier's office.

"Come in Joanna I've been expecting you." She heard him say but as she pushed open the door she saw Logan there already and looked puzzled and worried as she crossed the floor to sit next to Logan.

"Okay so whats up?" she asked looking from one to the other.

" Hows your investigations going?" he asked Joanna relaxed a little but she could tell Logan wasn't relaxed.

"Cut to the chase chuck, whats bothering ya." she asked folding her arms across her chest this action for some reason sent Logan on adge and she looked up at him something about him had changed like he was fighting his feral side. It was now she too felt it something wanting to putch him and pin him down like an animal. She could not help take a deep breath in.

" I see you feel it too Joanna, don't you?" Xavier said and she looked up at him then to Logan again. She stood up and walked over to face Logan but the closer she got the harder it became to hold her self and she backed off.

"What... you regretting things now, thinking Im spoiled goods because of what Sabertooth did?" she said her voice growing angrier as she spoke with a smirk on her face. Getting no response she turned to a window. " I knew it" she said and bolted out of it half angry, half feeling used.

" Go after her she doesn't know how to control her feral side as you do" he told Logan who quickly jumped out the window after her. Joanna ran as fast as she could until she found a clearing the same one she had been in when she had been attacked she paced back and forth her mind swimming with words and thoughts she never had before. It was then she saw him walking towards her and she ran at him her own claws out he countered and knocked her back to the floor on her back.

" Stop, Stop Joanna, stop it" he told her as she struggled under him.

"Why, I want to tear you apart for thinking I'm nothing." she said and cut his arm as she pulled one hand free. But his next move surprised her and calmed her much to her surprise he lent down and kissed her like he wanted to posses her, something inside or her broke free and returned it her arms wrapping around him her nails dragging up his back . But then she pushed him away and moved from under him now her feral side took over and she moved around him. " Catch me, claim your mate." she said and laughed a deep feral laugh as she dove deep into the woods dodging his attacks several times. Soon she found a pond, the water clear and still lit buy the sun above. She slipped out of her clothes and stepped into the water, but smiled as she heard a sound behind her.

" What took you" she said turning to see Logan behind her, his body just as scared like hers. " whats changed Logan?" she asked softly as he reached up to brush her now wet hair off of her face. She heard him growl at her words she moved closer to him, her hand returning the gesture he had done and he brushed against her hand with what she could only describe as a purr. She didn't know what was going on but she knew this day was going to end differently.

Joanna woke to the sound and smell of damp grass and the soft breathing of Logan as he lay next to her. She moved to sit up and winced being a little stiff but she moved over to the water. Looking in she saw a bit mark on her shoulder that had not healed but was there for all to see. " what the?" she said her fingers brushed over it. It was now she felt soft lips kiss her shoulder as well and she sighed.

"I'm sorry Joanna, its my mark." he told her and she looked at him as she sighed but smiled.

"So what... this makes us mated?" she asked and saw him nod she sat down on the damp sand and looked at the water." She rubbed her face " you idiot, you know you just gave Sabertooth more of a reason to go after me again." she told him and moved to smack him but he grabbed her hand and held it. She looked into his eyes and sighed moving to hold him close her face buried into his chest.

"He won't Xavier promised me he would look after you...both of you" he said and she looked up at him quickly smirking at her as he moved his hand to her tummy. Joanna stood shocked for a moment then sighed.

" Well you have that wrong, because I can't get pregnant, bub." she told him using his own words back to him as she poked his chest, but the look on his face told her other wise. " I want Hank to confirm it " she told him and he shrugged his shoulders.

" So be it, but its true, I can smell the change in ya already" he said Joanna as she stood started to feel dizzy and lent against him.

"Take me back " she said softly as she grabbed her clothes and dressed she walked towards where she felt the school was but she had only taken two steps when she felt her legs give and her world go black. Logan ran to catch her in his arms now he was worried about her carrying her back to the school he headed straight for the med lab and Hank.

" she just passed out" he told him laying her down on the table. Hank checked everything he could then scanned her and chuckled.

" well looks like your more potent than you thought Logan, its twins" he said " shes some what anemic but that can be sorted with red meat and rest." he took out a small bottle of smelling salts and waved it under Joanna's nose. Joanna sat up and then lay back down.

" what happened ?" she asked holding her head and looking to Logan then hank " why am I in the med bay?"

" okay, firstly you fainted and Logan brought you here, second your pregnant and its twins"Hank told her then saw the bite " well that answers my next question" he said and turned to Logan. " nice job Logan" he said and Joanna groaned.

" Hey" she said and moved off the bed lifting Logan shirt there sat her mark on his shoulder " Two can play..." she paused as she then dove to the bathroom to throw up Hank just chuckling as she did.

" I never noticed she'd done that " he said and shook his head noting how like her it stayed and didn't go totally but left a mark. Walking back Joanna sat on the bed again.

" so how long?" she asked and Hank looked at the screen again before talking.

" Eight and a half months to go " he told her "so plenty of time to learn about the school and prepare come back in a few weeks, but you could grow quicker your metabolic rate and healing factor could accelerate the whole pregnancy, this is a first for me and for Logan too." he smirked as Logan rolled his eyes at him.
