A/N: I told you guys I was trying to manage it!

"C'mon!" The Doctor yelled, struggling to carry the young blue haired boy on his back. The party of people and cyber's alike ran through the halls of the dim, jagged caverns, back to the entrance of the cave network beneath the city. Tsubaki was being carried by Maka and Soul, and Black Star trudged along on the Doctor's back, much to his chagrin. "All this working, and you kids still manage to be this heavy?!"

"I'll try to ignore the fact you called us fat!" Maka said, dodging a falling cave debris.

"Not cool, Doc." Soul chimed in.

"Yes, yes, we can all have a good gab about it back at the TARDIS. Pick it up!" He demanded, and in no time at all, which felt like an eternity to them, they reached the cave mouth, complete with the shattered fountain at their feet and dripping streams of water from the broken pipes above. After struggling a bit with lifting up the two unconscious members of the group out of the pit, they continued their journey down dark alleyways and into the empty city streets. The Doctor stopped in a narrow alley, partly to let the kids rest and get the one out cold off his back, and partly to gauge his surroundings. Something didn't feel right. Didn't taste right.

"Wh…where is that blue… blue box of yours?" Soul asked in between pants and gasps. "We haven't… haven't got all day…" he wanted to continue, but the Doctor shushed him before he could.

"Don't you feel that?" The Doctor said worriedly, glancing around the corner to ensure his safety. It didn't help. He nervously began pacing around the limp and tired bodies and trash bags that dotted the alley. "Something's missing. I can't quite seem to…" The Doctor trailed off, losing himself in his thoughts.

"What could you…" Soul said, before he too trailed off, though not out of thought. This was different. This was out of fear.

"What were the Cybermites still doing at that capsule? It's useless weight to them, only good for scrap. But they…" He once again trailed off briefly.

"Doctor?" Maka interrupted, backing up a bit out of fright.

"And those pipes!" He said, eyes widening in curiosity. "Why do they need electricity? Unless…" He stopped for a bit. "Unless they're not just routing electricity. They could be routing some different form of energy…" As the Doctor rambled on, he barely noticed the two children crowding behind him in apprehension. Maka took her fighting stance, Soul ready to jump into her arms as a scythe at the drop of a hat. "What could the Cybermen do with other energies? Their basic systems are electrical…"

"Doctor!" Soul commanded, trying to get his attention. It clearly wasn't working, because the Doctor just ran up to the kids, brain flying with excitement.

"Tell me, what kind of energies does this universe operate off of? Any kind of common occurrence that happens around here?" He asked, but quickly saw the fear in the children's faces. He realized that they were trying to get his attention, but didn't realize what for.

"That!" Maka shouted, pointing behind the Doctor. The Doctor spun around slowly to reveal what the children were so frightened of.

A Kishin egg.

But not just any Kishin egg. This one was different. This one was… Mechanical.

A Cyber Kishin.

Normal Kishin eggs look horridly grotesque already, sharp teeth and twisted limbs and all. But this one was incredibly adept at making anyone want to vomit on sight. It had all the basic features of a normal Kishin, but much worse. It's arms were covered with exposed holes in the skin, revealing cybernetic underparts and wire-infused muscle. It's jaw and teeth were completely ripped away, revealing a mechanical replacement jutting out form the top of it's neck. This particular Kishin eggs as much more well muscled than the others, and most of it's body was falling to pieces, revealing a horrid combination of Cyberman and humanoid beast. There is probably a more apt description for these foul creatures, but no mere paragraph alone can describe the true horrid nature of these things, let alone what the Doctor and company must have felt with one of them towering tall over them.

"Oh." The Doctor said sheepishly. He looked back at Soul and Maka. "And that's…" He said, gesturing a shaking hand towards the Kishin egg, "…that's a common occurrence?"

"Duck!" Maka yelled, pushing the Doctor to the ground in time to narrowly dodge the huge metal fist flying at them in a hideous display of a left hook. The Cyber Kishin hit the wall with such a force that it sent a large crack up the wall and small chunks of building flying off of it. The alleyway seemed to widen a but after the monsters lethal blow to the wall. The Kishin let off a horrific, auto tuned roar that screeched and bellowed simultaneously through the air, causing the kids to place their hands over their ears in pain. The Doctor, however, stood up, despite the jarring noise. He grabbed Black Star's still unconscious body, and beaconed for the others to follow with Tsubaki. Maka and Soul, not wanting to argue and wanting to get as far away from that monster as possible. They turned the corner, narrowly avoiding another hurling swipe form the Kishin, and ran as fast as adrenaline could carry them down the street.

"What was that thing?!" Soul yelled, suddenly no longer tired from running.

"A Kishin egg, duh!" Maka yelled, trying to keep pace with soul as the two of them carried Tsubaki. "But they're normally more intelligent than that! Why is this one all messed up?"

"And more dangerous too!" Soul added. They could hear the screeches of the Cyber Kishin, and heard it's thundering footsteps behind them. It had given chase to the fleeing party.

"it must be the Cybermites!" the Doctor shouted, leading them into another alley. "They must have tried to upgrade it! But that thing isn't human, so the upgrade failed!" The Doctor said.

"But Doctor, they—" Maka started, but couldn't half finish her sentence before ethe Doctor yelled over her.

"There!" He shouted abruptly, pointing to a Blue Box at the end of an alley. Just in time, too. The huge monstrosity was following them, and had almost caught them too.

"Let's hope your blue box is Kishin-Proof!" Soul yelled.

But it wasn't.

The Mecha Kishin stopped, and bent it's huge mechanical legs. It heaved, and jumped far into the air, landing just in front of the party of people trying to escape to the safety of the TARDIS. It roared one more time, slowly lurching forward, as it was about to feast.

"Always something— It's always something!" The Doctor yelled in frustration, throwing his hands up, and nearly dropping Black Star off his back.

"Looks like we have no choice!" Maka yelled, letting Tsubaki down gently. Soul nodded in solemn agreement, and once they put their friend to the ground, Soul snapped his arm out, flashing it into a scythe blade. Soul jumped into the air, where he began the rest of his transformation, and Maka caught him with a flourish. She took a battle stance, ready to swing the now giant scythe sitting in her hands at the monster. The Kishin egg looked ready to eat, when it let off another roar, though not an intimidating one. It cried out in pain, like a horrible dog that was struck by it's horrible owner. It lurched backwards a bit, and it took a moment for the trio to realize that a large gash formed in it's chest, revealing it's metal bones and cybermuscle. Just in front of them, a lone figure stood with a scythe of it's own. It took the kids a moment to realize who it was!

"Professor Stein!" Soul yelled form his scythe form in relief. Maka, however, was less than thrilled to see the scythe in his hands.

"Hey, dad!" She said with a mixture of contempt and relief, though it could have been much worse considering the situation they were in.

"You kids get somewhere safe! We'll handle this!" Stein shouted, and jumped back into the air to take another swing at the monster.

"Doctor, lets go! While they're distracting it!" Maka yelled, as Soul jumped out of her arms and picked Tsubaki up again.

"Did…" The Doctor stammered in excited bewilderment. "Did you just call him… Professor Stein?" He asked giddily. "And he's covered in stitches?!"

"DOCTOR!" Maka yelled.

"Right, sorry!" He said, and led them past the tumbling monster in to the blue box. Quickly, he unlocked the TARDIS, and ushered everyone inside. He handed black Star over to the others before quickly stepping out the door to gesture to Stein and Spirit. "Quickly! In the TARDIS!"

"Get them outta here Doctor!" Spirit yelled, slashing at the beast. "We can handle this!"

Stein nodded in agreement. "Go, Doctor." He looked back with a peaceful look before beginning to ferociously swing at the monster. The Doctor nodded and stepped back into the TARDIS. Quickly, he ran to the console and began playing with the switches and levers, pulling a chord here and twirling a wheel there, and the center console gave flight to the blue box once again. In no time, they faded out of existence and into he time vortex, the Doctor's favorite place to be.

"That was close." Maka said, still panting with fright.

"I'll never get used to this place." Soul said calmly, as if the whole situation never happened.

The Doctor just stood and stared at the children, mouth hanging open to say something, but the words failed him.

"Something wrong, Doctor?" Maka said with concern.

"Did… did he say his name was Stein?!"
