YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!

Well, looks like the season premiere brought me new followers... I don't think I've updated since Season 1, so a lot to work on...

To be honest, while I can understand her now broken spirit over killing everyone, including her ex-lover, it's just painful and embarrassing to watch the character now. And in Season 2, she was possessed by a murderous ship, so... it's been hard to write her.

I will try though...

BUT I will give some theories...

Nolan and Amanda will be lovers again... I mean, come on...

The Tarrs will only LOOK like they are willing to betray Defiance, but since the VC is intent on killing all humans (even those who helped their cause) and their grandchild is half-human... well, they will do all they can to protect family. For all their betrayal nature, they protect blood. Even Datak, he has a rougher way of protecting. (He hurt Alak to strengthen the family as a whole, I think... Fucked UP, but you see his motivation) And possibly each other. Anyway, the most complex side story in the whole series is this family. I would love Alak to find a new lover, but most of the women have been killed off... I plan to have two of them lesbian lovers, and I have a feeling Doc will be more of an introvert now... And Amanda has Nolan. Not to mention... none of those paired have the right chemistry. He's too busy finding his baby anyway.

Doc... Oh, the betrayal. She's basically been raped. I don't know how "attached" they are to their skin (pun unavoidable) but ANYONE being held down, having their skin PEELED off to save someone you KNOW is out to kill EVERYONE (enslaving them first)... Uh... yea. I can't think of anyone alive still that would sympathize with her, but there needs to be. Maybe Amanda... Irisa perhaps? But she's pretty intent on people not dying nowdays and Yewl was a means to an end. And how they asked her to stay. I'd be feeling pretty used. Like I'm just a service to them. If she wasn't the only doc in town, they'd care less. Poor Yewl. I don't predict it, as the writers seem to like to keep Doc and Irisa all emo (I do NOT approve, btw), but I would LOVE to see someone at least sympathize with Doc... not be a lover necessarily, but come on... this is Defiance... you get that close, you're gonna fuck. LOL

The father daughter team of genocide. I see no remorse in them and nothing but murderous intent. They MIGHT be softened, but unless there's another way for them to get what they need without enslaving and killing other races, they're just gonna be the monsters to kill at the end of the season.

Now, for the other ship I am predicting. Irisa and Berlin. 1) It just seems a trope to make two characters loath each other only to make them lovers. (I LOVE this trope, but it's a trope, nontheless.) 2) They are both the only connection either has left of Tommy. 3) Deep down, Berlin knows it was the ship, not Irisa, that killed Tommy, and eventually, she'll get her anger out and stop using Irisa as a punching bag. 4) I imagine a heart to heart where Berlin actually admits this to Irisa. That while she knows it wasn't her, she needed to take it out on someone, and that would turn into a "you need to forgive yourself" and... kissing... and stuff ... LOL

I think Defiance is over the whole political thing as in whose gonna be the mayor suspence of the show. It's Amanda. It can't NOT be Amanda. As for Lawkeeper... I'm not even sure this is anything but a formality for Nolan and Irisa. They don't NEED the badge. They are SEEN as protectors of Defiance. Well, Nolan is... As for Irisa, other than Berlin, everyone else just seems to fanboy over her.

Also, who wrote that book!? I'm guessing Berlin. Amanda doesn't seem the writer type. Doc? LOL If it was Doc, it would amuse me to no end. Wait... did anyone survive of her "followers" before she was disconnected from the ship? Hmmm...

Crazy woman and her grandson... There is no doubt this woman will survive and make sure her grandbaby does as well. Will she be found? Something tells me it'll be part of the cliffhanger for Season 4. (And can they please make this a Fall show already so there are more episodes?!)

Speaking of... Alak will try to escape... Failing everytime... Even with his resolve of a father, he has no true grit (and believe me... I know... cuz neither do I) and the Tarr couple will try to double agent their way through things again, with the usual subtle comments and ending in serious blowups...

I had to mention them again. Seriously. While the show started as about Irisa and Nolan it's become about the Tarrs. Which is awesome. :)

And I feel like things are just on recycle in this Season. Just new things to create the same character interactions. I'm not saying this is a BAD thing and it happens with EVERY series. But it has become predictable.

And predictable is cool. Cuz, I would like to rewatch, but meh... So new stuff is preferable, even if predictable.

Except maybe Irisa... She's way weepier. She was just a grumpy teen in the first... then a mystery who turned into a sort of cult leader... And hopefully, she'll get some of that true grit back. If nothing else, the snarky comments. Seriously... I want a scene with her and Doc... So hopefully that'll be Doc's sympathizer... and Doc can smack her back to her old self.

And the bookstore. What will become of the bookstore? (I think they used the same set as they did the NeedWant because at first I thought they were in there... but turns out... or did he have a "stall" at the NeedWant? I don't even know...)

And... who RUNS the NeedWant? Berlin might, but she's Lawkeeper... I can't think of anyone else who might... So a new regular guest star or some unseen person.

And Rath's house... Surely Alak and the baby will live there... if the Tarrs don't insist on him living with them... or he lives there after they get taken away... or... who knows.

Ok, my theories are becoming disconnected guesses now.
