Clary turned in a circle, trying to figure out where the hell she was. The room smelled as if someone had taken a bottle of wine and poured it over the finely polished floors, dust dulling the clarity of the view. Coming to a stop, Clary absorbed every detail of the room. From the peeling, molding wallpaper, and the cloth covered furniture, to the open window. The floorboards groaned loudly under her feet, telling her that the wood was rotting, seeing as she weighed all of 90 pounds. Holding her breath, Clary made the trek to the window, leaning her head outside. Sunshine warmed her chilled skin, the smell of seawater stinging her nose. She watched the people walk down the cobblestone streets, and some swim in the sky colored ocean. Where in the hell was she?

"So, I see you made it." Clary's blood boiled at the sound of his voice. Reaching up, her fingers scrapped against the wood of the window, and then she thrust her fist into the glass. It shattered, slicing her fingers open and dropping glass all around her and onto the street below. Ignoring the pain, Clary palmed one of the rather larger prices of glass and spun, slamming it into Sebastian's shoulder, just as she had done a mere months ago in the apartment. He was lounging against the wall, inches from her. He glanced at the shard embedded in his shoulder, making a mildly uninterested noise as he watched the black blood stain his white shirt. Clary glared, her breath coming out in sharp, warm huffs. Sebastian pressed down with his palm, causing the glass to sink deeper into his shoulder. Clary gasped, falling to her knees as she clutched her shoulder. Warm blood seeped through her fingers, running down her already stained shirt. She ground her teeth, denying what she already knew was true. Her brain tried to deny it, but her heart knew that this was what Sebastian had done to Jace. Everything that happened to him, happened to her. Horror caused ice to flood her veins. She looked through the glass strewn matted mess of blood and gunk that had become her hair, looking Sebastian in the eye as he crouched in front of her. She hissed a breath through her teeth, raising herself into a sitting position. Sebastian yanked the glass out of his shoulder harshly, grinning as a sharp gasp escaped Clary's lips. His soulless eyes gleamed with a sick joy. "Oh, this is going to be fun."

"Care to share that information with the rest of the group, vampire?" Jace said. He knew he was being mean, but he didn't give a damn. Simon's eyes sharpened at the use of the word 'vampire', but he spoke none the less. "When Clary was talking to me through the faerie ring, she mentioned that Sebastian would shut up about this one place, and that he actually started to act like a real human being there."

"Venice." Jace said, the memories forming in his head.

"Yeah." Simon nodded.

"Why would he take her there?" Isabelle asked. She looked as confused as everyone else.

Jace's heart stopped as he figured it out. "He's going to finish the process. He's going...he's going to make her like him. Completely."
