As usual, I own no one in here except Mira, Cedric, Alma, and my version-conception format of Seris. And my brain's wacky ideas of crazy stuff to put these people through.

Chapter 7: Forgotten Echoes
'Those echoes in your mind, they are your memories. Please do not throw them away.'
"What do you mean you shattered it?" Aisha demanded immediately.
King Elsword glared at her a bit, silencing the woman as Eve frowned only a bit in distaste at the change of events. The rest of the gang looked completely confused with the situation now. Rena fidgeted in discontent, while Elesis grew silent and nonchalant while leaning against the wall. Raven was still looking at everything but the group, unwilling to look at the blond especially. Aisha muttered slightly and twirled her wand as Ara held her spear behind her back, and Chung left his canon at his side. It was as though a pen had been dropped and no one had garnered the decency to pick it back up. Seris' cutlass and claymore both lay at her hips, while Mira's own sword stayed at her hip as well. Cedric leaned against Alma nervously, the child's deep purple hair flowing long as she stared on at the group. She was stern, her rust colored eyed slightly disturbed at the situation as she trembled and closed her eyes.
"Your great grandfather built that sword?" King Elsword inquired.
"Seriously? You shattered it...? Why...?" asked Eve, in monotone.
"She probably shattered it because wasn't that sword dangerous at one time?" wondered Ara.
"Yeah. That sword had controlling properties beyond life's handle," Rena stated.
"How did a little girl shatter it?" pondered Raven.
"She can't be ordinary," Elesis murmured.
"I think that was obvious," Chung responded.
Mira tilted her head, biting her lip as she furrowed her brows in thought. What was Alma's story, truly? Why was that child involved in destroying a sword? What was this sword's story? How could this possibly be such a problem? She frowned, looking over at the child who had long closed her eyes.
"The Sword of a Thousand Moons," Alma echoed the name, "-it was my grandfather's greatest work. A sword that could defy all probability. A sword that could cut through diamond. A sword that could bend time and space. A sword that could have divided the entire world. A sword that could revive the dead. A sword that was only worth its strength in the hands of any of my great grandfather's descendents, but people sought it for its abilities without understanding this fact. My family was hunted, for that sword."
King Elsword found his eyes widening as Eve tilted her head. Everyone was now shocked. Alma's family had thus been hunted for this sword? Only for this sword? But now a question...
"Alma..." Aisha managed, "-is the legend true? Is a piece of the sword locked in someone's heart?"
Alma frowned, then looked away, ignoring the question, "It was a sword that would curse anyone who destroyed it. When the Raven of our world was tearing through Velder during his rampage, I was tasked to destroy the sword. Some of my family begged me not to, begged me not to take the curse. But the sword had became a curse to everyone else...so using an ability I have residing in me from my family bloodline...I shattered it. I carry it's curse now..."
"An ability?" Rena inquired.
Alma closed her eyes, "My name is Alma Relivu. I'm sure you know the bloodline. Our sword has named us the Bloodline of the Cursed Blade."
"Relivu!" Aisha cried out, "How could that be? The use of their sword shattering ability usually kills them! How can you be alive?"
"Because of the sword I shattered. That sword's last usage was prevention of my death."
"Wow..." Mira murmured.
"Alma..." Cedric gasped.
"You didn't answer Aisha's question," Elesis pressed finally, "-is a piece of the sword actually in someone's heart?"
The question was ignored as Alma fell silent. Mira knew something was up at this point as Cedric leaned against his new adopted sister, although he didn't consider her as a sister really. He was honestly too nervous and silenced by the words of Alma to speak. The alternate ElGang was already pretty confused, but amazed. The Relivu family was known for their skills in creating, repairing, and destroying swords. As well as their deaths immediately upon using their skill to shatter swords. For Alma to still be alive, it was a miracle, and the entire El Gang knew it. That was one thing that didn't differentiate between the two worlds. In fact, it didn't seem like anything was different except for the job titles of each member.
"The curse of the sword is to become more susceptible to human emotion. When Raven of our world murdered my family, his fury become an emotion I absorbed due to my curse. It's been replaced by the love that Seris and our Raven now show me, now that he's gotten better," Alma replied, closing her eyes, "-I absorb human emotion and it becomes rendered as my own, due to the sword's curse..."
"My God..." Ara gasped, "I apologize Alma, that's awful."
"I wouldn't wish that on anyone," Chung murmured.
"It only happens when the emotions are extremely strong," she replied.
"Still though," King Elsword managed, "-that's cruel. Too bad Eve can't absorb emotions."
The King received quite the glare for that while Mira found herself deeply concerned. Why was that question being avoided. Seris meanwhile, was glad to hear that love had replaced Alma's hate. Still, the extent of that curse broke the blond's little heart, and she could not help but feel completely worried about her new daughter. Still, the kindness Cedric showed in leaning on her was endearing, and it made the woman smile.
"If I may..." Seris finally mentioned, "-what will happen when we assemble this sword?"
Alma looked at Seris, "We can use it to go home, at which point I will keep the sword as my own weapon. It is tied to my bloodline, and it is my curse to bear. I choose then, with all my heart, to fight using that sword. Because I know how to weild it."
"Won't people come after you?" Mira cried out.
"Not anymore. The era of that sword has long died."
Cedric couldn't help but realize how strange it was to hear Alma speaking in a manner that wasn't abrasive. He actually enjoyed it, even though she was being so serious at the moment. That did worry him some, especially considering the situation at hand. Still, the small four year old didn't quite understand how all of this had come to happen to a six year old, a girl only two years older than he was. Then again, he wasn't fully attuned to the ways of the world yet, and even he himself knew that. He was just a small boy, a child of the man who had induced Alma's rage and the woman that meant most to that man.
"The curse will still stand. I am a permanent absorber of human emotions, when severe."
"I will always love you," Seris replied, "-with all my heart."
"The same is from me," Mira chimed.
"And me!" Cedric cried happily.
"Why won't you answer Aisha?" Raven inquired.
"Yeah, really!" Aisha called.
Alma closed her eyes and looked down, looking away.
"The sword's upper blade is in Feita, in the Underground Chapel. The rest of the blade is in Altera, over in the Altera Plains..." Alma sighed.
"Where's the hilt?" inquired Rena.
Alma frowned, shaking her head, "In my heart."
Aisha's eyes went wide, and Seris blinked, looking at the girl, Cedric feeling horrified as he subconsciously reached out to take hold of Alma's arm.
"A-Alma!" He cried, "That's bad! How can we assemble a sword when part of it is in your heart? We can't hurt you Alma!"
"I have the same question..." Seris replied.
"Same here," Mira responded.
"Definitely," Elesis chimed.
"I didn't think the answer was yes..." Aisha stated.
"How can it be in your heart...?" asked King Elsword.
Cedric was now hugging onto her legs crying as everyone stared at her in awe. Seris approached, kneeling down to gently pat Cedric on the back while looking at Alma in concern.
"The hilt makes a full impalement of my heart, where the magic of the sword allows my bloodflow. My ability as a Relivu allows me to materialize it, and when combined with the blade, a copy of it will remain physical. The original will always stay in my heart...and if anyone else tries to wield it, the hilt will vanish until I take control of it again. That sword is bound to my bloodline...only my bloodline...and I am the final Relivu."
"Unless you have kids someday," Eve muttered.
"Why would I subject them to such a curse?" Alma inquired.
"Love does strange things Alma. You'll see when you grow up more," Seris sighed to her.
King Elsword shook his head and stood up, "Enough. Let's split into parties, we need to get Alma the two pieces of the blade as soon as possible so they can go home.
"Hey Alma?" Mira inquired, "-what will your title be?"
"Moon Maiden. That is the name given to the wielder of The Sword of a Thousand Moons."
"Moon Maiden..." Cedric echoed, "-it fits you!"
Seris tilted her head, her brows furrowing as she grew nervous and worried. Honestly the woman had to wonder...
Meanwhile...
"Are they ever going to wake up...?"
"I'm sure they'll get out of that dimension."
"They have to right? They have Seris with them..."
I hope you all enjoyed it!
