if, in this world, love had a color
what would be the color of your love?
would it be red like the flames of passion?
or would it be white like the goodness you draw from me?
if I dug deep into your heart,
would I find it blue like the tears you wipe from my cheeks?
or perhaps the same silver as the sparks in your eyes?
if I reached into your soul,
would it be speckled with the browns and charcoals of the road we walked together?
or would it be streaked with the array of pinks and golds of the sky that we looked upon?
the color of your love,
I see it everywhere-
in every shade, every pigment, every hue;
you are present in everything I see, everything I hear, and everything I feel.
When was it that you became the world?
A/N: This poem was directly inspired by one of Izumi Shikibu's:
in this world
love has no color
yet how deeply my body
is stained by yours
Isn't that beautiful? XD But I hope you enjoyed my little Inuyasha interpretation. I really think this poem can be read from many of the character's point of views so I won't tell you who I thought of when inspiration hit me for this one hahaha :P Happy reading and thanks for your time!
