Time Skip, 2 and a half years later (Kagome, Nala and Simba are just under 3 years old which is the age they are classed as full adults.
"Whoah" Timon called out after Simba let out a loud burp. "It had been about 2 and a half years since he and Pumbaa had found the lost cub in the desert. They didn't know much about the lion's passed, just that he never liked to open up about it.
This was one of those rare nights that the trio were outside of the cover of the forest. All three were laying on their backs as they looked up at the night sky with the stars shining down on them, illuminating the grassy meadow around them.
"Nice one, Simba" Timon complimented.
"Thanks" Simba replied proudly from his laying spot. "Man, I'm stuffed" the sub-adult male lion said as he relaxed further into the grass below him.
"Me too" Pumbaa agreed. "I ate like a pig" he described. His description gaining puzzled looks from both Simba and Timon, but only Simba was the one to voice the obvious.
"Pumbaa- you are a pig" he said plainly with a smirk causing Timon to give a soft chuckle.
"Oh, Right" Pumbaa said simply with his ever present smile present. Embarrassed at his mistake being called out upon by his friend. All three sigh deeply, in unison as they continue to look up at the stars.
"Timon?" Pumbaa starts to ask.
"Yeah?" Timon replied, readying for the warthogs most random question. He always had one, no matter what they were doing there was always a question that went with it. A question that he would actually have to think about when answering
"Ever wonder what those sparkly dots are up there?" the warthog asked the meerkat. Yep definably a deep thought question.
"Pumbaa, I don't wonder; I know" Timon replied, not taking his eyes off the stars.
"Oh" Pumbaa replied simply. "What are they?" he pressed on with the question.
"They're fireflies" Timon said confidently. "Fireflies that uh... got stuck up in that big... bluish-black... thing" he explained briefly.
"Oh, Gee" Pumbaa said, his tone with a hint of disappointment. "I always thought that they were balls of gas burning billions of miles away" he said, his voice like he is visioning something far off up above the three of them.
"Pumbaa, wit' you, everything's gas" Timon said plainly.
"Simba, what do you think?" Pumbaa asked the one of the trio that had seemed to keep quiet for the conversation.
"Well, I don't know" Simba said turning his head away, not wanting to really answer, it just gave him memories thinking about it, he wasn't sure if he wanted to relive those memories wasn't sure of he was ready to face that part of his past. The past with his mother, his sister, his family and lastly his father.
"Aw come on" Pumbaa complained at the sub-adult lion. "Give, give; give ... come on, Simba, we told you ours... pleeeease?" he pleaded whiningly.
"Come on, come on... give, give" Timon said encouragingly.
"Well, somebody once told me that the great kings of the past are up there, watching over us" Simba said Reluctantly as he started to remember when his father had told him that story. The day before the accident happened. The day he endangered Nala and his sister.
"Really?" Pumbaa said; genuinely interested in what the male lion thoughts on the subject unlike his counterpart.
"You mean a bunch of royal dead guys are watching us?" Timon says out loud as he tries to keep composure. "Pbbb, ha-ha" he finial broke down laughing after only a few moments later. It only takes seconds until Pumbaa is joining in with him. Simba on the other hand only gives off a half-hearted laugh.
"Who told you something like that? What mook made that up?" Timon continued to say along with his laughing.
"Yeah. Pretty dumb, huh?" Simba said, embarrassed that he felt insulted by Timon mocking his father's words and Pumbaa laughing along with him about it.
"Aw, you're killing me Simba" Timon continued to mock. Simba listened to the laughter for a few more moments but as the time passed the more awkward he felt and the mocking of his father's words, of his passed. Simba looks back up at the stars before he quietly gets up from his spot in the grass and leaves.
"Was it something I said? Timon asks Pumbaa as the two watch the young male lion walk away from them and lay on the edge of overlay, facing out towards the he collapses onto the ground a breeze picks up a collection of leaves and a whiff of Simba's unique scent. Sending it across the desert.
Following the breeze of leaves to Rafiki's tree
It was a normal day at Rafiki's tree. Well as normal as it could be those days. With the pride lands growing darker and darker each day. Something needed to change in the lands, and soon. Rafiki could feel it in the air and vibrating from the ground that something would change today.
He didn't know what it was that would change but there was a sign to come that could bring about the next phase in the king spirit's guidance plan to take back the pride lands from Scar's evil, and it was to happen his day.
So from early in the morning he had sent the girl out on errands not too far away from the tree and set her some exercises for her training. While he sat at the very top of his tree since dawn to find out what that sign was. Much like the sign he had got to go and find the little white princess.
Her training was now complete to the level needed but now it was the time to wait for the next step of the spirit's plan to find where the training he had given the white lion would take a part in. today was the day he finds out what he was to move on too next in the battle of good vs Evil in the pride lands.
It was now about midday and Rafiki let his instincts take over as he calmly meditated at the highest point of his tree. This relaxation and trust in the spirits around he led him to reach high up into the air and snatch something right out the wind.
Rafiki didn't open his palm to see what it was that he had caught in the fear of losing whatever it was so he moved quickly down into his den in the middle of the tree's branches, the place of sleep for him and Kagome.
Along with his training to her on improving her mind's strength and confidence he also trained her body in agility and flexibility that would aid her in battle and everyday life. Simple things like her being able to climb up into the den of the tree and jump down safely from the den in the tree.
Rafiki sat in the centre of the den and grabbed his turtle shell bowl as he release what he realised was leaves into it for him to examine. He sniffs it, grunts in puzzlement at the sign that he seemed to have been given to decipher. He reaches up to grab the first fruit for him to munch on as he likes and like looks it again.
It was the royal anoint fruit, the same as the one he had anointed Simba with over 2 years ago. After seeing this he looked again at the leaves and saw it was infect milkweed floss leaves. The leave of the pride land males. Rafiki takes another sniff of what was in the bowl and realization dawns on his face with a bright smile.
"Simba?" Rafiki exclaims with his realization. "He's- he's alive?" he says out loud. "He he- he's alive!" he repeated in a yell as he begins to laugh. Next he grabbed his staff and then moves over to the side f the den with the picture of the three cubs.
One cub was smeared; the one of Simba who he had thought to have been dead. The next was the one of Nala, the one that he had put a dark cloud over to resemble the darkness she had been put through for the last few years without her friends. Lastly was the one to resemble Kagome.
Rafiki still laughing in delight dips his finger into the red paint as uses it to paint a bright red mane on the smeared image of the lion, no longer a cub but the soon to be king of the pride lands, his rightful place.
"It is time!" Rafiki said to himself before he remembered the princess that would be meditating just under the tree waiting for his decision on the spirits decision on their next move. What he had to do next was simple. He had to get Nala to leave pride rocks and find the lost prince in the jungle.
And they meet it was Rafiki's job to find the prince and remind him that his future is tied to that of the pride lands because of his past. Rafiki needed to remind the sub-adult lion of who his father was and what that meant his future would lead to. With it all now understood in what to do next moved to the edge.
"Kagome child come up" he called down to the lioness under the ledge. Kagome looked up towards him giving him a nod before moving back slightly and making the jump up to the tree den.
"Have you found out what the great king of the past's next move is master Rafiki?" Kagome asked respectfully.
"Yes chid and for it you must stay in this tree for the next three days till I come back for you" he says as he moves to put the shell back in its pace but using his stick end to point to the three cubs. Kagome looked to where he was pointing and almost broke down and the sight of the red mane.
"Simba lives?" she asked timidly. Worried that voicing her thought would wake her from a pleasant dream.
"Yes child and I need to bring him back so that you three and the other lionesses can take back the pride lands from Scar along with the Evil he has brought with his hyenas" Rafiki said and Kagome just nodded in understanding. It was time and she was ready, she was now ready to face her past, ready to face scar and his evils; she was finally ready to go back home.
