So this isn't the most exciting chapter but just wait it will be soon.
Simba walks slowly across the desolated land that were once green and full of life. It broke his heart to see the lands that his father and his pride had been so proud of in this state. He walks until he reaches the lip of a cliff of the gorge that runs through the pride lands.
From where he stood he could see his former home, pride rock. The large rock feature looked just as dark as the rest of the lands. It all looked like it was lacking in life; it is painted in different shade of grey. The image built fury within the male lion and a look of determination appeared on his face.
"Simba, wait up!" Simba turned his head to see Nala as she trots up next to him on the ledge of the cliff. It made him happy that she was there with him as he was about to take on the challenge of a life time.
"...It's awful, isn't it?" Nala said quietly next to him. Going from such a beautiful place as the jungle where Simba had been hiding for so long and then back to her home just reminded her of how sad the lands had become.
"I didn't want to believe you" Simba says as he looked at the lioness next to him.
"What made you come back?" Nala asks.
"I finally got some sense knocked into me; and I've got the bump to prove it" he says with a slight humour. "Besides, this is my kingdom; if I don't fight for it, who will?" he asks to no one in particular.
"I will" Nala replies as she straightens her shoulders to seem slightly taller.
"It's gonna be dangerous" he says playfully. He knows that she knows it's dangerous but it was like they were young again roaming over the lands looking for danger. At the thought of being young a prick was stabbed into his heart but he put it off, there would be time later to sort that out.
"Danger? Ha! I laugh in the face of danger" she said quoting young Simba. "Ha, ha, ha, ha" she mocked.
"I see nothing funny about this" another familiar voice said from behind the pair.
"Timon? Pumbaa?" Simba said shocked but happy to see his friends there with him. "What are you doing here?" he asks, as if not believing they left the jungle. They never had, not while he had known them.
"At your service, my liege" Pumbaa says respectfully, bowing on one foreleg at Simba.
"Uh, we're going to fight your uncle... for this?" Timon asks as if needing confirmation on the point. Simba could see where his friend was coming from, with the pride lands looking like they were but he also knew that he had to get this back, with or without help, but he would prefer to have help.
"Yes, Timon; this is my home" Simba said more confidently then he actually felt.
"Ffh, Talk about your fixer-upper" Timon muttered quietly. "Well, Simba, if it's important to you, we're with you to the end" Timon stats happily and Simba smiles appreciatively at his friend being so supportive.
He knew that Pumbaa would support him through anything because he was that kind of loyal friend; loyal to a fault, however the fact that Timon would be there as well for him brought back the emotion that had been squirreled away in his heart for so long.
This feeling of family and dedication to that family was so old and new at the same time to the male lion that it just slipped on like the old shredded fur of a mane. With no need for words the four of them move from the cliff ledge and closer to pride rock; the centre of the land and home to the lions of territory.
Before they knew it Simba. Nala, Timon, and Pumbaa sneaking from behind a log just in front of pride rock as they observe close up the hordes of hyenas that had made themselves at home for almost three years.
"Hyenas; I hate hyenas" Timon complained quietly as he remembered most of his younger years hiding from the creatures before him. "So what's your plan for getting past those guys?" Timon asked Simba quietly.
"Live bait" Simba whispered back.
"Good idea" Timon whispered back but it only took a small pause for realisation to hit the small meerkat. "Hey" he says back his paws ending up on his hips with a stern look.
"Come on, Timon- you guys have to create a diversion" Simba explains.
"What do you want me to do? Dress in drag and do the hula?" Timon jokes but then it only takes moments for him and Pumbaa to be ready to set up the distraction and for him to be dressed as if he was attending a luau and Pumbaa is set up like a roast pig, even with an apple in his mouth.
"Luau!" Timon yells to catch all the hyena's attention as he begins to sing. "If you're hungry for a hunk of fat and juicy meat, Come on down and dine on this tasty swine, All you have to do is get in line" Timon rhymes. "Are you aching" Timon drags out.
"Yup, yup, yup" Pumbaa singing in back up.
"For some bacon?" Timon continues.
"Yup, yup, yup" Pumbaa repeats
"He's a big pig"
"Yup, yup, yep"
"You could be a big pig too; Oy!" Timon finishes and by now the hyena are practically drooling. Pumbaa and Timon sense that the predators are getting a little too close for comfort and so they run off screaming to lead most of the hyenas away so Simba and Nala can get past them.
"Nala, you find my mother and rally the lionesses" Simba request, with no room for argument, not quite a command but very close to it. "I'll look for Scar" he states determinately. Nala nods and head off to where she knows the lionesses hid in the day when Scar didn't demand their presence.
But Simba started making his way up Pride Rock towards where the lion cave was, thinking it was the best place to start. The further he got up the rock the more foul the smell that came from the cave. If Simba had to guess scar had let the hyena's take over the sleeping cave.
Simba didn't have to look long for his uncle because before I got too far up the rock Scar had walked out of another cave that Simba hadn't realised was there before. He stepped out and stepped up to a ledge and called for his mother. The sound of angry in his voice had causes him to pause and watch.
"SARABI!" Scar yelled at the top of his voice, making Simba actually cringe at the rage in the voice. He had no idea that his mother could have done to deserve such a tone in a male's voice but he wasn't sure he really wanted to find out.
Simba looked further down the rock and saw the hyenas part a path for his mother as she moves up the rock towards where scar stood. Her head was held high, like the Queen she was as she ascends Pride Rock. The hyenas that parted for her were snapping at her heels but she only glares disdainfully.
