"SARABI!" Scar yelled at the top of his voice, making Simba actually cringe at the rage in the voice. He had no idea that his mother could have done to deserve such a tone in a male's voice but he wasn't sure he really wanted to find out.

Simba looked further down the rock and saw the hyenas part a path for his mother as she moves up the rock towards where scar stood. Her head was held high, like the Queen she was as she ascends Pride Rock. The hyenas that parted for her were snapping at her heels but she only glares disdainfully.

"Yes, Scar?" Sarabi asks as she stops before him, head still high in front of her 'King'.

"Where is your hunting party? They're not doing their job" Scar satay as he paces around the lioness. Out of them all it was Sarabi that Scar could not get to bow to him. He was sure that with her losing the three family members in her life it would leave her weak and he could have easily taken her.

But that was not the case. The lioness had become stubborn and refused to lower her head at the male lion. She did not have to in the rules of the pride be under him as she was the mate of the past king but it left Scar unsatisfied with Sarabi not being under his control.

"Scar, there is no food; the herds have moved on" Sarabi explained calmly to her late mate's younger brother.

"No" Scar denied her excuse. "You're just not looking hard enough" refused to listen to what he knew was real. He had got the pride, he had got the lands. He will rule over the lands.

"It's over Scar" Sarabi states plainly. "There is nothing left; we have only one choice, we must leave Pride Rock" Sarabi says but scar is still pacing before her.

"We're not going anywhere" Scar denies once again. This was not the first time that Sarabi had suggested the idea of relocating somewhere after all that had happened to the lands.

"Then you have sentenced us to death" Sarabi finally said. She had not put it so harshly before but now it was like they had no choice, the lionesses were starving and were getting weaker and weaker as the days passed.

"Then so be it" Scar said back just as harshly.

"You can't do that" Sarabi said quietly as she was both Disgusted and amazed by how far the lions obsession had gone.

"I'm the king, I can do whatever I want" Scar counters.

"If you were half the king Mufasa was you would never-" Sarabi started but never got to finish.

"I'm ten times the king Mufasa was!" Scar yells at her as he hits her, knocking her to the ground. The scene before him brought such rage from within that without intending to give away his position high on the ledge, he growled loudly drawing all attention onto himself.

Knowing it was too late to go back into the shadows to hide from his uncle for a surprise attack Simba leaped down from the ledge and ran over to his mother who is trying to get back to her senses. But because he looked so much like his father Scar mistakes him for his father.

"Mufasa? No. You're dead" Scar mutters out loud to himself, frightened by seeing this new male in his home. Simba ignores his uncle for a moment and focuses on just his mother, his only real family left in this world. Sarabi slowly wakes when Simba nudges her, but mistakes him for Mufasa as Scar had.

"Mufasa?" Sarabi specks weakly not wanting to trust her own eyes at the face before her.

"No" Simba says softly as he shakes his head causing his mane to move in his movements. "It's me" he spoke with a smile. Sarabi's expression moves from one of sadness to one of delight at the words said to her.

"Simba? You're alive?" she says almost at tears before confusion takes back over. "How can that be?" she asks not sure if she wanted to really know the answer.

"It doesn't matter; I'm home" Simba says as he rubs his head against his mother and she purrs much like Nala had the first time they had properly greeted each other.

"Simba...?" Scar says Confused before his smirk comes back. "Simba" he says slyly as he got back his composure. "I'm a little surprised to see you, alive..." he says as he gives the hyenas above him an angry look to which they just gulp and move away from the ledge out of his sight.

"Give me one good reason why I shouldn't rip you apart" Simba says angrily. Everything finally building up making him want to kill the lion before him. The one that had always judged him, jabbed at his father, had just hit his mother… judged and made Kagome; his sister weak

"Oh, Simba, you must understand; the pressures of ruling a kingdom..." Scar start to explain as Simba backed into the rock face of pride rock, his tone almost seemed apologetic.

"Are no longer yours" Simba said coldly. "Step down, Scar" Simba commanded his uncle. It was time he took his place, to show his father's lands the love and care after it's neglect for so many years, to take pack his pride, look after his mother and mourn for what was lost to him and her forever.

"Oh, oh, yes, Well, I would, he-he, naturally, he-he" Scar says in playful nervousness. "However, there is one little problem; you see them?" he said as he points up towards the horde of hyenas on the rock ledges above where two lions were facing off. "They think I'M king" he says as if he's won.

"Well, we don't" the two males turn to see Nala standing tall, much like Sarabi had been doing with cold eyes staring right at Scar. The other lionesses were behind her and two were aiding Sarabi so that she could stand.

"Simba is the rightful king" Nala said proudly. Simba would've have smiled with pride if the situation had not been so serious.

"The choice is yours, Scar" Simba says turning back to face his uncle. "Either step down or fight" he says coldly, his eyes like thorns; sharp and to the point.

"Oh, must it all end in violence? I'd hate to be responsible for the death of a family member" Scar says, as he desperately plays his last card. "Wouldn't you agree, Simba?" he said as he walked past his nephew.

"That's not gonna work, Scar; I've put it behind me" Simba says confidently.

"Eh, but what about your faithful subjects? Have they put it behind them?" Scar asks as he indicates to the crowd of lioness opposite him.

"Simba, what is he talking about?" Nala asks confused. T was then Simba realised what his uncle's plan was. And now Nala and his mother would find out the truth, he supposed that a good thing about it would be that they no longer had to blame Kagome for the death of their father.

"Ahh, so you haven't told them your little secret" Scar said in a delighted tone. "Well, Simba, nows your chance to tell them, after all they all know that it was your sister that had started the horrible stampede" Scar said calmly.

"Tell them who it was that had brought Mufasa to the gorge in the first place, tell them who is responsible for Mufasa's death!" he said harshly. Surprise crossed all the lionesses' faces and caused them all to look in his direction for clarification.

Simba knew what he had to admit now in the open, to his mother, to Nala. Steeling himself In what he was about to do, about to admit he took a single step forward, his face blank from any obvious emotion.

"I am" he said plainly. All the lionesses were shocked into silence. Sarabi approaches her son, fear clear on her face, fear of finding out the real truth.

"It's not true; tell me it's not true" Sarabi asked her son, grief flooding her every word. Her eyes hopeful to find that Scars words were lies but Simba could not lie to his mother, he could not take back his words, he could not change the past, he had to learn from it.

"It's true" Simba confirmed his uncle's words regretfully.

"You see! He admits it! Murderer!" Scar states harshly, as if planned a Lightning strikes from behind Scar's head giving him an evil shadow as if to punctuate harshness and seriousness in his words.

"No; It was an accident" Simba tried to defend himself, the lionesses still shocked into silence and Sarabi to sad to say anything. Scar takes advantage of this and walks around Simba as he accuses him of all his 'wrongs as if he was on trial.

"If it weren't for you, Mufasa would still be alive, It's your fault he's dead; do you deny it?" Scar accused.

"No" Simba said plainly, not going to lie or denied the truth.

"Then you're guilty" Scar says with the severalty clear in his voice as he dragged out each word for effect.

"No; I'm not a murderer" Simba tried to defend his actions to scar didn't give him the chance.

"Oh, Simba, you're in trouble again" Scar says as he becomes the one backing Simba up the ledge of Pride Rock. "But this time, Daddy isn't here to save you, And now EVERYONE KNOWS WHY!" Scar etherised.

Because of the force of his last sentence, Simba's back paws slip over the edge which leads to him having to cling to the ledge with his forepaws. If the situation couldn't get any worse lightning strikes a dead, dried out tree below, igniting a fire. That grows fast because of the dryness of the trees below.

"Simba!" Nala yells up in worry as Simba tries to climb back up using his blacklegs whereas Scar sits back and pretends to think.

"Now this looks familiar" Scar says simply. "Hmm, where have I seen this before? Let me think. Hmmm. Hmmm" he says as he pretends to like really hard. "Oh yes, I remember" he says with a little laugh. "This is just the way your father looked before he died" he says as he grabs Simba with his claws.

"And here's MY little secret; I killed Mufasa" he whispers humourlessly into Simba's ear.

"NO!" Simba growls so loudly that he covers another's protest in the process.
