This chapter begins with a flashback, just to clear any confusion that their may have been.
Kimiko
"Kimiko!" Erza called and I snapped my head around, finding her head peering out of the double oak doors to the guildhall. "I'm going on a job with Gray and Natzu," she continued before disappearing back into the hall.
Going on a job with Natzu and Gray? Frankly I'd be surprised if they didn't manage to beat the crap out of each other while Erza wasn't looking. But I quickly pushed the thought aside, resting assured that Erza's terror-inducing glares would keep them at bay.
The door to my room clicked open. I set the jingling keys on the counter sighing heavily and switched on the lights. My room in Fairy Hills suddenly became visible as I switched on the lights. To my immediate left was a modern kitchen, furnished with wooden cupboards and blue stained glass counters. To my immediate left was a pretty little bathroom complete with a glass shower cubicle and a separate tub with jets. Down the hall was a quint little living room with a white sofa and a fire place under the television lacrima. windows in the living room and bedroom left the small apartment well lit for the better part of the day.
I left my bag on the kitchen counter, strolling into the bathroom and drawing a bath. I let the bath run until steamed filled the entire room. Stripping myself, I descended into the bath, sighing as the warm water tickled my skin. I sat like that for longer than I care to remember, letting the steamy water wash away my stress. I tried my best not to think about how Erza and Gray had disappeared into Clover Canyon a few days ago and nothing had been heard from them so far.
The place was a maze of earth but I tried to tell myself that Erza would be able to pull through, but even then images of Erza, Gray, Natzu, Happy, Gramps, and Lucy dead on the ground in the middle of no where flooded into my mind. I tried to shove the thought aside, focusing on the stained glass tiles of gray, blue and white. I tried my best to ignore the fact that on the other side of the wall was Erza's own home. With it's five large rooms, all lined with armor and it's intricate motifs adorning the upper section of the walls.
Eventually I began to doze off, the warm water quickly tiring me. I shook my head, trying to keep myself awake. I sighed, lifting myself from the water and drying myself with the white towel resting on the stainless steal rack bolted to the wall above the wall.
After drying myself, I slipped into a pair of silky pink pajamas. I was asleep the moment my head hit the pillow.
The dream was dark an murky I was in a forest, pushing through several layers of trees. Eventually I came to a small clearing. The figures of several people were lined all around like shadows. Their glowing yellow eyes glowed evilly. A dark guild.
They charged in several waves, one after the other in a seemingly endless pattern.
The first fifty or so were taken down easily, my magic sending several enormous columns jutting out of the earth. Their limp, shadowy bodies lay scattered all around the clearing until I was breathing heavily.
There was a swish somewhere above me. I turned, eyes widening to find a giant column of black fire coming at me.
The burning black mass sent me flying a hundred feet away. I slammed into a large pine with I spine-tingling crack. I swept my hair out of my face hurriedly. Leaves and loose bits of grass were sprinkled on my clothes and in my hair. I looked down, hastily checking if any of my bones were broken. They weren't, but everything from the waist down was covered in burns.
The man who'd taken me down was steadily making his way toward me. Stepping over cracked branches I had obliterated as I flew through the trees. I tried to stand, but my heavily burned legs were soon rendered useless. Soon the shadowy wizard that'd taken me down loomed over me. I cowered in fear, but my quick brain quickly began to take in details about my attacker.
It wasn't a shadow, but a hooded man. A strong gust of wind had pushed the hood of his cloak of his head. He had unruly brown hair, and I long, graying beard. The right side of his face was gnarled with, large scar running from his eyebrow to his jaw.
"R-Rock Wall," I stuttered over my spell, fear beginning to seep into my mind, making it hard to think clearly. Nevertheless, I wall of solid rock erupted from the ground between me and the scarred man.
"Dark blast," He said, his voice was riddled with old age.
My screams rippled through the forest, pulling me to consciousness. I found myself sitting bolt upright, my forehead caked in cold sweat. It was a dream, I had to remind myself over and over again. But at the same time.. The dream had been real. In some, twisted way, the dream was a replay of the job I'd taken a few weeks ago. My burns ached slightly just thinking about it.
They hadn't been permanent, thank God, and soon all evidence that they had even been seared onto my skin would be erased from my legs. Grumbling, I punched my pillow before sinking back into slumber.
By far the longest chapter so far. I hope you liked it though. Don't forget to review!
