"Two-Bit..there isn't a single thing to talk about." I said softly. To be honest, I didn't want to talk about it. There was no reason to talk about it either.
"Look, Rose, we need to talk about it. We were together almost three years, and I don't want to just throw that all away." He said looking into my eyes. I sighed, I could see he was very much serious about working this out.
"Look, Two, I just got back. After what happened that night and what happened to me in Cali, I need some time." I said staring down at my shoes. Excuses, Excuses I thought to myself.
"Alright Rose. Well, I'll catch ya later then." Two-Bit grumbled while walking off towards the Dingo. I sighed and realized the boys had already disappeared into the dark when mine and Two-bits conversation had started. I rolled my eyes and realized I had to walk the rest of the way home by myself.
"Hey grease." I heard, then everything went black.
I woke up on our couch. I grabbed my ribs due to the sharp pain I felt.
"Hey Rose relax." Soda said, he handed me some water and a pain killer. I thanked him before taking both.
"What happened?" I said. Soda and Darry looked at me.
"Well, you were jumped. Luckily Dally found you before they were able to fully attack you." Darry said. I relaxed a bit, feeling really relieved.
"I gotta get ready for work." I said, I went and got my work clothes together and changed. "Bye guys!" I yelled, still sore and heading down to Bucks ranch. As I was walking, I realized Two Bit had left me there to walk home alone, knowing the Socs had been attacking greasers more often at night lately since I have been back. I grew slightly irritated but continued on to work. I would bring it up later when I saw Two Bit. Man, was it going to be a long day.
