Dagur ran as far as his legs can carry him, fear filling his heart like a bucket full of ale. Farther he goes as he escapes Hiccup's home. He has never feel this sensation before and if he's not being chased, he would feel humiliated.

His men are running behind but Dagur couldn't care less about them. He's the chief, an unreplaceable heir to his village. His tribe will replace those fallen soldiers and soon enough, they will forget those insignificant men. And if they do die, they deserve it. Because they're weak!

Dagur jumps into the dark tunnel, his men passing by it. He thought with a sick grin. His men will bring good use in distracting Hiccup. He steps down the tunnel as quickly as he can, trying to process the issue within all this.

Hiccup has changed. Magically changed. Dagur couldn't believe his eyes when Hiccup has him dangling in the air, the wide grin the brunette has overpowering his own berserker smirk. Hiccup truly is berserk!

And the markings on that skinny body…It moved, it grew…It gave him the powers of a dragon!

He must have it! He must! And he knew who to find…

"Witch! Witch! Come out!"

A swirl of dark purple flames begin to rise from the ground and a body stands in front of Dagur with motionless movement, covered in a dark purple cloak. He steps towards her.

"You cheated me! Hiccup received his new transformation from you, didn't he?!" The witch doesn't give him an answer. "Didn't he?!'

The witch makes a grin. A grin that answers his question. He glares.

"Then make me like him! Make me as powerful as him! You have the power, don't you?! Do it! Or-"

"Or what, Dagur?" The witch answers with a tone Dagur can't detect. "You'll do what? We only made a deal: You'll help me if I get you into Berk. And you got into Berk."

"That's…! That's beside the point! Look, Hiccup is after me! I want to make sure I beat his pride and be the chief! I will have Berk bow before me and I will make Hiccup suffer under my command!"

Something flashes into the witch's eyes. Something dangerous and wicked and Dagur finds himself looking at the witch carefully. She reveals her hands, holding a small chest with the crest of a head. A Night Fury's head.

"I'm afraid I won't let you do that…You have yet to pay your debt and as they say: Every good deal has its price. And you, Dagur, has just gotten the worst of those price."

Dagur readies his blade, unsheathing it from its scabbard but it's too late. Dagur lets out a gasp and the piece of dagger falls onto the rocky ground, letting it be the only 'witness' to see how a wisp of an extremely dark purple smoke escapes from his mouth and into an open chest…A thud is heard throughout the cave and with a satisfied smile, the witch shuts the chest tight with a small snap.

The same sound as the Fates when they cut a thread.*

~^.^~

"Stoick!" Gobber the Belch shouts with urgency into the Great Hall, his hammer ready in the place of his handless arm. "Come quick! Hurry!"

"What is it, Gobber?! You're supposed to be patrolling for Berserkers!"

"I know but that's the thing! We found them!"

"What?!" Stoick turns to his best comrade and gives him the almighty look that brought Vikings to remember their nightmares. "Then where are they?! Are the other Vikings holding them back?!"

"Um…That's the thing…You see-"

The doors slam open, revealing Bucket and Mulch with wide, panicked eyes on their faces.

"Stoick! Stoick!" Mulch cries out and points towards the doors with his hook. "You have to come and see this! You won't believe whose holding the Berserkers back!"

Stoick at once goes pale when one name crosses his mind, believing it to be the only one who has the ability to hold back a horde of Berserkers. "Toothless?!"

"No, Chief!" Bucket answers, making the Chief furrow with confusion. That's when Bucket adds: "It's Hiccup! Your son! He's fightin' like a dragon!"

The Chief's knees grow weak from the news.

"H-Hiccup?! But he's…he's…"

"He's alive, Stoick! And pretty angry too, if I may say so!" Gobber states and he grasps Stoick's shoulders to steady him. "I'm telling ya, Hiccup is out there right now, fighting the Berserkers! But…But he's not himself! He's like a dragon! Wild, dangerous, angry. He didn't just attack the Berserkers! He's attacking his own people as well! The other Dragon Riders are holding him back from hurting anyone else but they won't be able to hold out much longer!"

Stoick didn't get a chance to respond to this whole set of news when the doors slam open. The four men turn to see the wintery snow blowing into the Great Hall's chambers. Standing at the doorway, with the wind of the cold winter air blowing behind him, is Hiccup standing tall and proud with the markings on his body glowing with dangerous magic. His eyes glow red and his pupils are slit. He trails them to Bucket, then Mulch, then Gobber and finally, Stoick, where those eyes widen and a growl is released from his throat. A growl of a hostile Night Fury.

"Found you!"

~A Little While Ago~

"Nooo!"

Hiccup lets out a dangerous snarl, angry at the fact that he only gotten the fabric of the Berserker's armor. He has charge out of his home and to his people, he is like a hero charging into battle to protect them, to save them…

How wrong they are.

Hiccup can never forget how they treated him. Before he was a hero: A weakling. A disgrace. Useless. They would cheer if he's dead.

He turns his eyes to his cheering people. They stop dead cold and Hiccup can just smell the fear filling their hearts, deep within the veins of their blood.

He leaps forward. They scramble about. He begins prowling around the village, his eyes darting like a fox in a brood of chickens. Some have brought their weapons to fight against him but Hiccup, with fast agility, knocks the weapons off their hands with his new tail and when one almost chops his head off, Hiccup turns to him. A high-pitched sound made the Viking hesitate, his eyes moving to the source of it.

A plasma blast has form in the teen's own mouth!

"Guvver!" Another Viking shouts as he tackles Guvver down, both of them narrowly missed the aimed plasma blast. Hiccup turns to them sharply but when he opens his mouth to ready his fire, he finds a wall of flames blocking his view. He growls and looks up when he hears the familiar chant.

"Snotlout, Snotlout, oy, oy, oy!"

Hiccup snarls and looks at the sky to find more dragons flying above him. A Deadly Nadder, a Monstrous Nightmare, a Gronckle and a Zippleback. Riding on top of them are Fishlegs, the twins and…

Snotlout and Astrid.

His eyes glow dark with red and he lets out a roar, his tail smacking against the ground. His wings flap once. He can hear them through this whole commotion.

"Snotlout, keep Hiccup in that ring of fire! Fishlegs, you and the twins have to find a way to restrain him or knock him out!"

"What about you, Astrid?"

"I'll keep him busy! Just go!"

Hiccup clenches his hands into fists. They're taking him for a fool. Big mistake. He looks through the flames. A Monstrous Nightmare's flames are strong. But the dragons have forgotten one thing…

He runs towards the flames.

"Astrid, Hiccup is-"

"I know, Fishlegs!"

"Whoa, he's as crazy as we are!"

"Yeah!"

"Ruff, Tuff, focus!"

"Right!"

He can smell the Zippleback gas from afar, just a bit. He can hear the sound of a Deadly Nadder's spikes going up on its tail and the rumbling, bubbling sound of a Gronckle's fireball blast. With lightning speed, he dodges every one of them that is directed for him. He blows the Zippleback's gas away with his wings, he dodges the slow Gronckle attack and he maneuvers through the spikes aiming for him. He leaps forward, the flames swallowing up his morphing body…

And coming out of the flames is a dark auburn Night Fury.

He turns to the shocked riders and their dragons as he opens his mouth to ready his plasma blast, stronger and larger than when he readied it during his hybrid form. With a high-pitched sound filling the air, Astrid turns to the other riders.

"Everyone, split up! We can't let him destroy any more of the village!"

"But the destruction-"

"Ruffnut, no! We are not making Hiccup destroy any more of the place!"

"Aw man!"

"Astrid, we won't be able to dodge it without that blast hitting the village!"

"Then we'll have to knock him out! We have no choice! Ready your dragons and-"

"WAIT!"

A human steps between Hiccup and the riders and from there, the riders look surprise for a moment before Astrid brings out her voice.

"Toothless! What are you doing?!"

Hiccup's head throbs painfully. Toothless? What kind of name is that for a human? That's when Hiccup notices a black Night Fury tail. The plasma blast in his mouth disappears and he eyes the tail with curiosity. A Night Fury. One of his own kind.

No. Hiccup releases a growl towards the Night Fury. This one is on their side. His teeth grind against each other from the stinging pain in his brain. It's burning. It's throbbing. It's scorching from the inside.

Make it stop.

Make it stop!

Hiccup releases a pained roar and shakes his head left and right, his vision growing blurry. He lifts his head up to see a woman in a purple robe walking towards him in the distance. Only the bottom half of her face is visible. Hiccup starts breathing heavily while the woman spreads her arms out to him as if she's waiting for him to run into her for a hug…Her lips curl to a smile.

Let go, Hiccup.

Let it all out.

"AAah!" Hiccup screams in pain in Toothless's mother tongue, making the lad turn around in time to see Hiccup's tail swinging around to hit Toothless on the torso. Knocking the wind out of the hybrid, Toothless crashes into a nearby house, getting the poor building crumbling down. Considering how Toothless isn't weak enough to be killed by a measly destruction of an already broken house, he'll survive.

The girl steps forward and finds herself in front of the silt-eyed Hiccup. She places a hand on the space between his eyes and a purple glow surrounds her hand before she leans down and whispers.

Feel it, Hiccup.

This is who you really are.

You're no longer the prince your family created.

You're no longer the hero the village considered you as.

You're Hiccup.

Hiccup the Disaster.

The boy no one ever loved.

The boy people considered a nuisance.

The boy who had nothing.

N o w . B e . F r e e.

"Raahhhh!" Hiccup's eyes glowed to a dangerous red as his head tilts back and his mouth releases the loudest, most painful cry of all. Memories flooded through his eyes. The destruction of his village. The people shunning him. The voices of doubt. The eyes of scorn. The horrible ache of his heart.

That's right. He has nothing. He never had anything. The only reason why he has everything now is because of his heroism. His people, friends, father, everyone. They're with him because he's a hero. Not for himself. And he knows just where to strike their hearts the most.

He moves down to get on all fours, ready to take flight-

The auburn Night Fury freezes for a split second. Something stopped him. Something compelled him to stay on the ground. Hiccup stops his wings from stretching and instead, he scans the area, searching for that man, that one man, who scarred his heart the most…The one who was never there for him until he became a hero.

There.

He can smell him. He's close. Real close. He looks towards the Great Hall and lets out a growl, his eyes turning to slits. He didn't let anything stop him anymore. He rushed forward and climbed along the long, stoned stairs of the Great Hall. His body begins to change. Bones crack. Scales fall off. Groans are heard. An auburn tail smacks along the stones while a pair of ear flaps bounce along those brown hair of the lad. Hiccup's eyes, red and burning, didn't look away from the destination.

"Hookfang, now!"

Hiccup stops in his track and the fire burns right in front of him. He grins and glances over to the Jorgenson before he lets out a laugh.

"Is that the best you got, Jorgenson?"

"Not quite!"

Hiccup didn't need to turn back. A ripple in the air is enough for his hearing. He grasps onto a Nadder's spike and turns to look at the blue and yellow arsenal before he jumps off from the spot that is soon attacked with the same weaponry. Landing to the sides, Hiccup turns to Astrid with a bone-chilling grin.

"Astrid! Haha! Should've known you would try this kind of tactic. Unfortunately," Hiccup holds up the single spike he caught and smiles, eerily and murderous, "I'm not Hiccup the Disaster for nothing." He didn't waste any time. The others would be here. He throws the spike towards Hookfang's side, causing the Monstrous Nightmare to let out a roar and a breath of fire that leads to Stormfly as he and his rider fall. She pulls back, making Astrid cry out and fall off of her saddle that leads the Deadly Nadder to fly back and capture her rider in her wings and twirls into the wheelbarrows of barrels and fishes.

Hiccup hears the Zippleback and Gronckle. He'll need to take them out or else he'll be interrupted. He can't have disturbance.

"Hiccup, that's enough! You're hurting everyone! We're your team!"

He sneers towards Fishlegs, who flies back at seeing that look. Those red eyes burn into the frighten bookworm before Hiccup plucks one of the spikes on the ground. "Team? TEAM?! What happened, Fishlegs, huh?! Didn't my team mock me?! Ran away from me?! Threaten me?! You guys didn't consider me as a friend, not until I show our capability with the dragons!" Hiccup grasps hard on the spike and hisses out a reptilian hiss. He bares his fangs to the nice one of the group…

"Woo! This is the biggest disaster we have ever seen!"

Hiccup twitches and turns to the twins by tilting his head back and looking over his shoulder. **He holds the spike like a knife and his lips curl to a smile, the blood on his hands all dried up slowly.

"That's good. Let's see if I can spill some blood."

The sound of Hiccup saying blood brought the strict attention of the twins. Their dragons ready their attack but when Barf begins to spray out the gas, Hiccup moves around and jumps as much as he can to kick Ruffnut to the side, colliding with his sister with an 'Oof' as they fall off their saddles. Hiccup directs the gas to Meatlug and Fishlegs and before the two of them react, Hiccup forcefully tugs on Belch's head, making her spark the gas and create a string of explosion that leads to the bookworm of the group to cry out and fly off of Meatlug with the both of them injured. Not planning on killing them off just yet, Hiccup stabs the Zippleback on a harmless spot that causes the dragon to roar out and begin losing control with their flight. Hiccup jumps off and walks up the stairs with a satisfied grin as he hears the pained groans of his so called teammates.

"Oow…" Fishlegs groans out and lifts his head for a moment, rubbing it from the soreness before he shrieks from the collar of his shirt being roughly grabbed by a familiar hand. Looking back to those devil red eyes, Fishlegs sweats and Hiccup, with a frown, mutters to the scared male.

"And to think…I almost thought we're real friends."

A headbutt of Hiccup's head colliding with Fishlegs is enough to make the male knock out as the brunette drops the body and keeps walking on. The brunette manages to reach the front door. A baby's cry echoes in his ear. A tiny hand grasping a large finger. A soft, manly chuckle.

"You're going to be a great Viking, Hiccup…"

He lifts his leg and bends it back to ready himself a hard kick.

"You have thrown your lot in with them. You're not Viking."

His heart beats with adrenaline. His blood boils in anger. In this very building, right at this very door, those words came back haunting him…

"You're not my son."

BAM!

Hiccup lowers his leg after that harsh kick as the wind blows his way and into the building with that icy feeling. His eyes are clear now. They're clearly in red. He steps forward and scans the room for that one person, the one who scarred his heart more. Stoick the Vast.

His smile, wicked and vile, appears as he announces. "Found you!"

~^.^~

A woman's scream is what brought Toothless's attention.

He runs up the stairs of the Great Hall and when he reaches the top of it, many Vikings alike have run out of the Great Hall, some screaming, some shielding their children.

Toothless grabs one of the Viking, Bucket, who is trying to get the children away from the building safely. "Bucket, what's happening?! Where's Hiccup?!"

"H-He's in there! With Stoick!"

Toothless curses under his breath and enters the building, finding himself in a battleground between the Chief with the Dragon Riders...

And Hiccup.

The air is thick with tension and the room is cautious all around. The flames of the Great Hall even flickers from the strength of the tiding winds. Stoick the Vast stands before Hiccup with the table between them, wielding his axe in a very tight grip. Hiccup stands before his father with a cold, calculating gaze and a frown to fit.

"Stoick the Vast…The greatest Chief in the world. The man who can crush a rock with his bare head as a child. The strongest one in the village." Hiccup walks around the table like Stoick, as if they're dragons in a standoff. No. It is a standoff. But just with prey…and predator. "But he couldn't be entirely happy. No…He needed a strong heir…A strong, Viking heir."

"Hiccup-"

"Save your breath!" Hiccup snarls towards his father, who reacts with a flinch. Toothless never saw Hiccup shouted at his father like that. It's almost as if he couldn't forgive his father at all. "I tried to prove myself to you, all on my own. All I ever wanted was someone to love me. Someone who would love me for who I am. Someone who would give me a chance in doing something. But no. Everyone neglected me. I heard you all behind my back. The Bad Luck. The Weak Link." Hiccup raises his hand and points towards his father, his eyes flicking with hatred. "The Disaster. But if my own father won't love me," Hiccup stops with his pace and turns his front to the table and his father, "then I'm going to live up my name!"

Hiccup makes a leaping tackle but before he could reach the Chief, a blur of black overcomes the brunette as a crashing sound echoes in the Great Hall. Toothless looks back at Stoick as he struggles to hold down Hiccup.

"GO! GET OUT! NOW!" Toothless shouts out. Even if the Chief stays and fights, there was no way he would hurt Hiccup. It's his son, who he loves now. When Toothless sees the Chief step forward, Toothless's eyes turn silted. "STOICK, HE'S NOT HICCUP! GO AND PROTECT THE OTHERS! LOCK THE DOORS! I'LL HOLD HIM OFF! GO!"

Stoick, his heart torn between the two, turns away from the sight and moves off to the doors to escape between them. Hearing the bang of the now shut doors, Toothless looks back to Hiccup, who roars and flips them over from taking Toothless by surprise. The two of them struggle in each other's arms. Claws and bites. Snaps and snarls. Toothless makes every dodge he could to prevent being hurt while Hiccup has let his rage cloud his mind.

"Hiccup, I know you're in there!"

The hybrid curses underneath his breath when Hiccup's bite was a few shies away from scratching his cheek with those sharp teeth. Toothless grasps Hiccup's hands to prevent them from pinning him down and, whilst dodging every bite attempt, he tries once more to bring him back.

"Hiccup! Come on! Wake up! AHH!"

Toothless cries out in pain from the bite on his neck as he arches his back. A steady stream of his blood flows out. It isn't a big one. If anything, Toothless can tell those teeth are small like a baby.

That didn't make things less painful or harmless though!

With a string of curses, he uses one of his hands to grab the back of Hiccup's head to pull him off. His wounds will heal but right now, with his last attempt, Toothless shouts as loud as he can, almost roaring like the dragon he is.

"Hiccup! It's me, Toothless! Remember!"

Hiccup's vision, though red with fury, begins to slowly dissipate. His head throbs at the sound of his name as much as his heart skips a beat at the sound of his prey's voice.

Toothless?

The black hybrid can see that, through the snarls and growls of his mate above him, the teen hesitated for a split second. Toothless lets out his voice, filled with his desperation. The desperation to have his one and only love return.

He won't lose him. Never again!

"Toothless! Your mate! Your dragon! Your best friend!" He grabs Hiccup's head and, ignoring the feel of Hiccup's claws nearly digging into his upper arms, he presses his forehead against Hiccup's firmly, his eyes burning with so much emotions filled with memories he has held dear with his mate. This moment right here, right now…is to bring his Hiccup back!

"Remember!"

His blood stops going wild.

The sound of that voice calling him has made the burn go away and in an instant, his rage has cooled like he has encounter dragon nip. Hiccup looks down at the owner of the voice and his body relaxes, his eyes calmer and less feral.

Remember.

Toothless…

Toothless?

Toothless…

The name haunts him every time in his head and with each name, a vision of his memories pop into his view. He was back in that cliff, with that machine of his. The roar of a Night Fury. The darkness of the night. He can see that figure. He didn't know why but he can see it through the night. Was it pure luck he shot accurately that night?

No. He knew he would be there. Hiccup knew the Night Fury would be there because it was destined. Hiccup shot him. Hurt him. Destroyed the Night Fury's flight. He planned to kill him. To get…what? Glory? Fame? Acceptance?

No. To get everything he wished for. Love.

The love of his people. The love of his friends. The love of his father. He wanted to feel love, to feel more meaningful than Hiccup the Disaster. No, someone who can love even that side of Hiccup.

Toothless.

Green acid eyes stared back at him. They were in fear, frighten. But more than that, Hiccup realized. He was alone as well. He didn't have anyone. He hated the world for making him a slave. For making him different from other dragons. He's the dragon of Lightning and Death. Everyone shunned him just as much as Hiccup did. Toothless wasn't Toothless. He was Night Fury. The offspring of Lightning and Death.

They were two lonely souls.

Toothless.

Hiccup.

He saw those eyes once more, back at that cove. They hold their stare. They looked at each other. They weren't near each other but it was as if they acknowledge each other's presence already. Somehow, Hiccup felt fuller around Toothless than with his own people back at that day. His vision changed once more.

Every good memory they shared together. They expressed together. They laughed together.

His heart felt warm.

He became Hiccup. Just Hiccup.

He became Toothless. Just Toothless.

They became themselves. Just them.

He wasn't anything.

They smiled together. Talked together. Played together.

He was just him.

They shared each other's pain. They learned about each other. They loved each other…

He was just…himself.

They finally have someone.

They flew together.

They bonded together.

They fought together.

They fixed together.

They fell together.

They saved together.

They found love.

They…are…whole.

Toothless lessens his grip hesitantly and waits for Hiccup's reaction, half-expecting him to pounce on him and end his life. Hiccup didn't attack him.

When brown eyes blink at him, Toothless swallows nervously and tries speaking. "Hiccup…are you…you?"

Hiccup continues to stare at him as if he couldn't comprehend what he has done. His hands retract and he looks down to the blood along his hands. The blood of the Berserkers or his people, he's not sure. The events of before brought stinging tears to his eyes and, with a choked sob, Hiccup lets himself fall onto Toothless, burying his face into the crook of his neck. The Night Fury strokes the brunette's hair and whispers to his ear in a calming tone.

"It's okay, Hiccup…It's okay. I'm here. I'm always here."

Hiccup knows. Toothless will always be with him.

He's his everything.

Just as much as he's Toothless's everything.

~In the woods~

"Ugh…Stupid lizard! What does that stupid Night Fury have that I don't?!" Amelia Goberman cries out in the middles of the forest, her cheeks red with anger and her eyes blazing with jealousy. "I can get any guy I want! But nooooo, that stupid lizard have to show up and ruin my plan! I thought having Astrid out would be enough! But instead, that stupid dragon prick ruined everything!" She grabs a rock and throws it in frustration, her voice turning into a high-pitch cry. "I HATE DRAGONS! I HATE THAT STUPID SON OF CHIEF! I WISH THEY'RE ALL DEAD!"

Coming up behind her is a small, green wisp coming out of the ground. First is the top of a woman's head, her hair long and wavy enough to frame her high cheekbones and beautiful face, her eyes a dark green color. She wears a grayish, ragged robe that hugs her amazingly curvy body. But it did nothing to hide the hideous scars on her forearms and the larger one across her neck. She takes one step.

Amelia continues to throw rocks. "I'm beautiful! I'm perfect! I should be the most popular girl! Not that stupid blond!"

The woman takes another step.

"I should be the one who gets all the attention! Not those dragon riders! I should be the one to get a one-of-a-kind dragon as my dragon slave!"

The woman's luscious lips curl into a wide grin, revealing a perfect set of sharp teeth.

Amelia finally lifts a large rock that's only a quarter of her size. "I SHOULD BE THE ONE DATING THE SON OF CHIEF! NOT THAT DISGUSTING LIZARD!"

Amelia raises the boulder over her head but when she feels a chilly presence behind her, she turns around slowly…

And screams for the last time before she loses grip and the rock falls onto her. It then rolls down onto the ground with red blood coating under it, next to the large trail of blood flowing out of a shocked-looked girl's head...

*In Greek, there are the Fates, mainly known as the Moirai. They are the daughters of the King of Gods, Zeus, and the Goddess, Themis. Some say they are more powerful than the gods themselves, making them very dangerous immortals as well. The Fates consists of three sisters: Clotho, the Spinner, the being who creates the threads of the mortal's life. Lachesis, the Measurer, the one who measures the lifespan. And Atropos, the Cutter, the one who ends the life of the mortal. They are also known for representing the past, present and future.

The Fates are often depicted as ugly old hags who are cold and merciless. They're not always deaf to pleads, however. They once cut the life thread of King Admetus, who is a friend of Apollo. The God of the Sun begged the Fates to undo but they have no power to do so. However, they said if someone takes Admetus's place in Hades's domain, he shall be spared. Admetus's wife took his place and she stayed there until Hercules escape Hades's realm with her, reuniting the king and his queen.

(And, if you would please, do not mix them with the Disney movie, Hercules. That movie has too much of a difference with the original.)
