Part 24: Defenestrate
The phone buzzes in Hiroki's pockets. He takes out his phone and checks who message him. It was Tsumori from the Hospital. He opens the text to read a one word message.
'Hey'
Hiroki replies 'Hey yourself'
He set his phone down as he gets back to work on his columns for his next segment on the newspaper. His first column was receive positive to the readers in which was a good thing for the company along with Hiroki himself. He wants to finish a few columns that way he can go visit his parents for winter break when Nowaki is out from school. Hiroki did not even touch the keyboard as the phone buzz again quickly.
'Coffee today? 4pm, meet me front of M Uni'
Hiroki felt a strong urge to beat the crap out of Tsumori for disrupting his work along with having a cruddy invitation sentence. At the same time he did want to get out of the apartment for a bit since Nowaki was working day and night nonstop for the past week. He agree with the invitation and roll himself out of his office to the bedroom to get dress. As much as Nowaki wants to help Hiroki out with everything, the long hair man protest to every extent of doing things for himself. Along with getting out of bed, taking baths and even putting on a pair of trousers. He refuses to be a helpless wheelchair confine man.
He puts on his coat and heads out of the apartment into the elevator. It was a chilly afternoon but not too cold to be taking a stroll. The coffee offer was an appropriate choice for this time of weather. He arrives there 10 minutes early only to find Tsumori standing there in the cold already. He smiles at seeing Hiroki really did come out of the apartment for a cup of coffee.
"I see you have really agree to accompany me on our date."
Hiroki smacks his lips at the annoying comment Tsumori greets him with. "It's not a date"
"Ohh, what makes you say that? Did you perhaps began dating Kusama?"
"No, I'm not in a relationship with him." Hiroki replies softly in husky low octave.
Tsumori remains quiet and takes control of Hiroki's wheelchair taking him to the coffee shop. They both watch people pass them by smiling and laughing having this uplifting aroma throughout the city. Soon they enter the quiet coffee shop in which was warm with the aroma of sweet mixes of different combinations of coffee along with tea. They sat in the corner of the shop where they can talk in a comfortable tone of voice.
A short chubby bubbly waitress came by taking their orders.
Tsumori smirks "Hey that girl is rather cute. Sure she can lose a few pounds but she can be wifey material. What you think?"
"She's pretty, not my type." Hiroki answers impassively. Tsumori on the other hand grows in huge interest on the subject. "Really? What is your type?"
Hiroki's cheeks turns harshly red as he stutters. "..Er well, you probably already know but… I don't date women."
"Neither do I" Tsumori winks in which Hiroki grunts in disgust. "I like the rational men around my age. Nothing is sexier than a man whose personalities is to be in charge. Too bad I won't let them if you know what I mean."
"Okay… I don't think I needed to know that." He looks at the window to hide how uncomfortably he feels right now. Tsumori laughs quietly as if it was all a joke. "I was just kidding, I want to see your reaction. I don't like men. I dated my fair share of women."
"I'm guessing they didn't last long." He suggested to Tsumori noticing his type of humor might be off putting for women.
Their coffee's soon arrives and they both took a quick sip before continuing on with the conversation. Despite the awkward subject Tsumori first brought up as a joke, they both had a reasonable amount of things in common. Hiroki did not mention a single thing about Nowaki during this whole conversation in order to see how trustworthy this man was. He did not want to mention about him till later on since the diary entries he read was nothing bad about the doctor. For all he knows, Tsumori might have joke about that part as well. Still it did not make sense to why this man who works with Nowaki would make him sound so sick and cruel. By the time they finish their coffee, Tsumori said something so off putting that brings into more inconvenience questions to Hiroki's head.
"Today was nice, hope we can get together again Kamijou. Just you and me. I hope Kusama-san does not get jealous of us being together." Tsumori strokes Hiroki's long brown precious soft hair.
"Huh?"
Tsumori laughs loudly and once again exclaims 'Just Kidding' to the man.
"Do you like for me to walk you home?" Tsumori offers once he finishes laughing at his own joke.
"No thanks. I can find my way to the apartment."
NOTE: Tsumori is just an awkward person to write about. I have no clue who he really is along with his personality other than what I read in his portrayal of the manga or anime. I probably did bad at portraying him, (/.|) At least I had fun writing
