Crash

Fragments of crystal clear glass ricocheting off the wall. Two men glare at each other, rage fuel within their eyes, all on a night meant to be filled with bliss for the couple.

"What the hell is your problem with me working Usagi-san?"

The silver hair man huffs his breath as he clenches his jaw.

"It's Christmas Eve and you couldn't fucking leave work to spend time with me. That's my problem."

"Well I'm sorry for being a responsible adult! What do you want me to do about it?"

"I want you to quit. Send in your resignation letter. You don't need the money anyways."

The smaller man pounds his fist against the hardwood diner table. Blood rushes to his face.

"It is always the same damn problem with you! You just can't accept that I don't want to be your fucking housewife! I am a Japanese man who wants to work and make something out of myself."

Akihiko rolls his eyes as he sips his wine. This is just another normal fight, he figures that Misaki will calm down eventually, apologize for ruining an important day and have make up sex on the dining room table. Yes, that is what he wanted, or so he thought.

"You know what Usagi-san, I had enough of this fighting. It has been one year and nothing has changed within our relationships. This isn't about Nee-chan anymore. All these fights we have been having lately, we apparently just want different things."

The older man's eyes widen, utterly unprepared for what is about to happen.

"I think…we should.."

"No!" Akihiko interferes.

Misaki shuts his eyes, tears forming through his eyes as he chokes up the remaining words.

"Let's take a break."

In a hasty desperate move in order to convince him to take back those words, Akihiko grab a hold of Misaki and embraces him tightly. The younger man struggles to pull away, he knew what Akihiko is trying to do and this time, he is not going to let him win. Cold moist drops touches his chocolate locks. The young man refuses to look at him, this was for the best in his opinion and it was the only way for him to think clearly on his own on what to do with the broken relationship he caused with his brother and Akihiko. There was no other way for Akihiko to realize his selfishness unless he loses the one he loves and cherish.

"I love you Misaki" he snivels.

Unfortunately, Misaki didn't have the heart to say it back.
