The moment that Kakashi's mind managed to register the pain from the fork tins buried deep into his thigh muscle, he bit his upper lip and banged one hand on the table hard enough to rattle everything sitting on it as he looked at his father and let out an almost half whimper/half growling sound.

As if to say, Look what you've done. To the older wolf shifter, not that his father seemed to care all that much given the fact that he was biting his lower lip so hard- in an effort to contain his mirth- that his lip was beginning to bleed while Uzu merely sighed and reached for a napkin.

No doubt to wipe what little bit of his blood she had gotten on her, off.

Iruka sat perfectly still, his dark eyes warily watching his adopted sister as she wiped her hand clean of the little drops of scarlet that had stained it before she dropped her napkin on the table between her and Kakashi. Almost as if she were throwing down a gauntlet or something.

It was at this point that Kotetsu decided to break the tension by asking, "So...how did a sweet little thing like you manage to save my Ruka from those evil humans trying to kill him all those years back, hm?"

Kakashi focused his mind on the flow of conversation as he jerked the fork out of his leg as Uzu propped her chin in one hand and eyed the wolf that had mated her adopted brother before asking in a slightly surprised tone, "He really didn't tell you?" She frowned before snapping, "Iruka- just what have you been doing all this time?"

Iruka flushed all the way to the roots of his hair and stammered a little bit for a few moments before managing to say in a slightly defensive tone, "I've been busy with my mate! Doing mate things! Besides, he never really asked before! A-And I didn't think you would like me running my mouth."

The last part was stammered out nervously. Something that had all three shifter's undivided attention on the two.

Uzu made a low humming sound before saying, "I kind of find it hard to believe that he never asked. And that you, equally never thought to clue him in."

Iruka opened his mouth to say something but then abruptly shut it and looked away from his sister. Effectively shutting down the conversation- from his end at least. Leaving, Kakashi, Sakumo and Kotetsu wondering just what exactly she had done to the human's that she had saved Iruka from.

Somewhere between the mess Kakashi was making of things and between Iruka's ignoring them, the group decided to go ahead and order some breakfast so that they could eat and listen to Uzu explain things.

After placing their orders, the group sat back and waited for Uzu to say something. And when she didn't seem to want too, Kotetsu gave her a little push. "So, again I ask how a sweet little thing like you managed to save my Ruka from pretty much certain death. Are you going to tell me?"

"Nope."

"Aw, but I've heard such interesting things about you and want to know just how many of them are true. Besides you should tell us- Kakashi has a mate-claim on you so this is sort of something that he and his dad need to know for future reference."

"It's no one's business Kotetsu- so just drop it." The males at the table expected the softly spoken warning to be issued by Uzu, but it was instead issued by Iruka. The silent message behind the panther's words were all but clear.

Stop asking. We aren't going to tell.

Finding it just a little bit odd that the two were so closed lipped about the night that Iruka had been saved by Uzu, the males all began to theorize as to what it was the two were refusing to speak of. Sakumo made a mental note to pay Iruka a visit sometime within the next day or so to force him to answer any unanswered questions that he and the others had.

It wasn't like there was something to the story that he would hold against Uzu any. She had after all, saved the panther even though she hadn't had too.
