Bai Jian paced back and forth in his office. His green eyes were frantic as he searched the map in his office. His daughter could be anywhere by now, for it had been 20 years since he had last since her.
Thirty days, I only have thirty days.
He continued his pacing in front of his desk, still scanning the map. His eyes, however, fell over to a small box on his bookcase. Bai Jian picked it up and flipped it open, revealing a tiny dancer slowly spinning to soft music. His eyes softened as he watched the small figurine twirl. It reminded him so much of Lianghu…if only she was here now, she would know what to do. The words to the song echoed in his mind as he leaned back against his chair.
"Qīn'ài de, wǒ
yǒngyuǎn shì
nǐ kěyǐ yùnxíng dào
zài nǐ shēnbiān, wǒ yǒngyuǎn bù huì líkāi
rúguǒ bùshì xiànzài, nàme yǒu yītiān hěn kuài
nǐ shì wǒ de tàiyáng, wǒ shì nǐ de yuèliàng."
English: "Darling, I
Will always be
The one you can run to
By your side, I'll never leave
If not now, then someday soon
For you are my sun, and I am your moon."
Lianghu was his Yueliang, (Moon), and he was once her Taiyang (Sun)…Without her, his life seemed bleak and lifeless. What was the point of going on if she wasn't by his side?
The music box slammed shut. No, he musn't think like this…He had a Clan he needed to protect, and daughter to find. Now was not the time to quit.
"Sir!"
A messenger ran in. "H-he found them."
Bai Jian raised an eyebrow, "What exactly do you mean by them?"
The servant hestitated.
Tigress groaned as she felt a bright light shining on her face. She slowly opened her eyes, seeing a candle next to her bed. Strange, she usually doesn't sleep with a light. She must've fallen asleep before she could blow it out.
Master Shifu will be ticked off if I've slept in a-
"I see you're awake."
She froze, hearing an unfamiliar voice. Tigress turn her head to find another orange and black-striped face staring back at her. This face, however, belonged to a middle aged male, yet seemed strikingly similar to her own.
"….Good morning, Lei Huang."
She growled, but was unable to sit up due to a numb feeling in her legs.
"My name is Tigress."
The tiger chuckled slightly, his smile revealing fine lines along his face, "No, it's not your real name. Lei Huang is what your mother and I named you."
*Dun, dun dunnnn!*
