A/N: Hey everyone! I've been up for writing lately - no clue why. Probably because I was up at 4 am and who needs sleep. Anyway. I've returned to this story in a vague attempt to finish it off. I already have the next chapter waiting as this is more of a transition chapter (not an actual epilogue!). I've skipped a first or two I had planned, but I think it works out well enough. Plus I don't see myself realistically writing them and I figured whoever's left here might want what I have written rather than nothing at all. And fair warning that there's a reference to another story of mine, Fluffy Clouds, in here. Bear with me on this short thing and I'll have the next chapter up after I stop holding it ransom for a pity comment. (Not really.) Enjoy!
The McKeller Firsts
Chapter 7: (Not so cunningly names it…) The First Epilogue
Amused by Jennifer's audible yawn and rub of her cheek against his chest, Rodney said, "There are many firsts yet to come, you know."
"Hm? Like what?" she mumbled, readjusting her cheek again.
Rodney lazily stroked from her shoulder to the small of her back and gave her head a brief kiss. "Like the day I first put a ring on that beautiful third finger of yours." He offered her knuckle a rubbing thumb. "The first, and only, time I wait at the end of a really long aisle with the most impatience and nervousness I think I'll ever have in my life."
"The first time you kiss me in a fancy white dress," Jennifer continued unfocusedly.
"Ah, now you're forgetting our first date."
"Second," the half-asleep doctor corrected.
"Second," he agreed. "I'm too much of a gentleman to soak you through with water to get you out of your clothes on a first date. Wait a minute…"
A back-handed swat to his chest didn't stop the mischievous grin on his face from growing, adding a slight chuckle.
When he quieted, he had to focus to hear her fading mumble. "Tomorrow. Tell me more tomorrow."
