Kings Cross

On that September 1'st, in 1938, King's Cross Station was incredibly overcrowded of weird-looking people, essentially men and women with long capes in shades of blue, red, green, purple... Young kids, and teenagers accompanied by owls, cats, rats and toads, and huge trunks, all them with the same crest. The crest was different from what muggles (non-magical people) would call normal. Four animals were represented, the lion, the snake, the eagle and the badger. Four distinct colors would also decorate this, each corner had his own color. Red for the lion, green for the snake, blue for the eagle and yellow for the badger.

Most kids looked excited, from there on, they would learn how to do magic...

Tom was afraid and excited at the same time. Although he was quite expectant on that day, he couldn't preview what would happen next, and he didn't like not being in control... But soon professor Dumbledore appeared behind him, holding a red and golden train ticket. Platform 9 3/4 it said. Soon Tom realized this, and asked:

-Professor, is this right? This platform doesn't exist...

-Yes Tom, it is. Magic is way more incredible than you might imagine. You will find it out by yourself…

Soon they walked to a brick pillar between platforms 9 and 10.

-Now Tom, you must run against the pillar, with your belongings. Unfortunately, I can't join you, I've Hogwarts business to deal with. So, shall I see you tonight? Stay well Tom.

As Dumbledore walked away, Tom kept starring at the pillar, maybe looking for something, thinking that maybe he'd become crazy... Soon, a group of older kids appeared and ran against the brick wall. The sight was ravishing... what he'd seen was just brilliant... Quickly he picked up his stuff and did the same. Once he passed to the other side, a huge, red, steamy locomotive was right in front of him. It was an incredibly long train, with many cars, Tom had never ever seen something like that...

Promptly, a man wearing a red and gold uniform asked him for his ticket, and once checked, made Tom's trunk fly just by waving his wand, and placed it in the luggage compartment. Tom was delightful, he really loved magic. Without any more patience, Tom entered the train. It was wide. Wider than it looked outside. Velvety comfortable and inviting. Tom walked for a while across the cars, before entering one compartment. Once he got in, a pale, blonde boy shown up:

-Would you mind if I join you? Avery, James Avery. – He promptly said, extending his hand to Tom, whom reluctantly shook the pale boy's hand.
