I know this is late, but Happy Fourth! Disclaimer: I don't own Hetalia. Hidekaz Himaruya has that honor.

It was a beautiful day! The sun was shining, the eagles were cawing, and air was filled with the smells of BBQ. America sat in his bed, smiling widely. Because today was the greatest day ever. Independence Day. The Fourth of July.

America leaped out of bed and danced towards the closet. Today was special, so he decided to dress accordingly. "Red, white, and blue! Stars and stripes!" America shouted to no one in particular. He danced a bit more in his patriotic clothing. Little did he know, 4 majestic bald eagles had made their way to his window. They cawed to him, and America looked up at them. He opened the window for them.

"Hello majestic eagles! How's the 4th for you guys?" The eagles perched themselves on America, and the 5 of them went to the kitchen for a patriotic breakfast. Waffles with blueberries and raspberries, topped with whipped cream. "Red, white and blue!" America said to the eagles, which they responded with more cawing. After the delicious patriotic breakfast, America went outside to start the barbecue.

"I invited all of my friends over for the Fourth! I wonder what they'll bring for me…" America wondered. He absent-mindedly flipped burgers and hotdogs as he anticipated what would happen later in the day.

*Time skip brought to you by the majestic eagles*

Finally everyone started to come over. Britain, Canada, France, Japan, China, and Russia all came over. "Thanks for coming everybody!" America greeted. "Of course! Why wouldn't we come over?" Britain said with a smile. "It would take a lot for me not to come for this special occasion!" France said.

Alright, that was slightly weird.

America served out the burgers, and everyone talked and had a good time. The majestic eagles stayed in the trees for the most part. When the sun started to set, America got everyone's attention.

"I'm sure you all know what today is!" Everyone nodded. "Why wouldn't we?" China exclaimed. America nodded. "So...what is it, everyone say it together!" America requested. "On three!"

"1...2...3!"

"My birthday!"

"Three days after Canada's birthday!"

America blinked a few times. "Excuse me?"

"It's three days after Canada Day!" Russia cheered. America sat in dazed silence. Everything was quiet except for the few caws of the majestic eagles. "Right….three days after Canada Day…" America murmured. Everyone cheered when he said that. They sang Canada's national anthem while America sat around, bummed out.

Finally, the sun set. He could hear the fireworks everywhere. Or were they gunshots? Nobody ever really knows. America decided that he rather not watch the fireworks when his friends didn't acknowledge his birthday. Is this how Canada feels? It can't be, everyone celebrated his national day three days ago.

"I'm gonna go inside…" America said, getting up. Canada raced to the door and stood in front of it. "You can't go yet!" "Why not?" America asked. "Because…" Canada started. America raised an eyebrow. "Because we haven't watched the fireworks!"

"I don't really want to this year…" America pushed. "Oh, yes you do!" Britain called. America turned around to see a huge red, white, and blue cake that read "Happy Fourth of July!". His eyes lit up as he ran to the cake. "You guys didn't leave me hanging!" America gasped. "Of course not! You would have moped about it later…" France stated matter-of-factly.

A few slices of cake later, everyone watched the fireworks. America smiled super big, not only because it was one of the best days of the year, but because he was surrounded by his friends. Friends that helped him celebrate today.
