Hello, I also thought I had abandoned this project but I have come back to revive it from the dead.
This will probably be the last project I do on this account forever(? not sure) but I just felt the need that I should not leave something unfinished; I am sorry if I don't update again with the next chapter in a long time too - I am quite busy but this is the best I could do right now.
Great, that I also return with this chapter when the fandom is pretty much non-existent!
Please enjoy.
If there are any points that I have address that were already addressed correctly from the previous chapters, please forgive me. I wasn't entirely sure where I was taking this story before so please keep that in mind when reading this. Errors are bound to happen so I am sorry.
Things had calmed down and we ended up staying for over 3 days because the kids had wanted to explore the mansion despite more than half the rooms being empty because Maxi didn't like the thought of having to buy more things to fill in rooms that he barely used.
Turns out Maxi hit the jackpot by resorting to suing a man who hit his car and trust me, those things weren't cheap. The man wanted to keep the situation of his accident private and I could understand why. Technology allowed others to look at one's identity with a flick of a finger, a news of causing a crash would ultimately stain one's reputation.
Alas, Maxi was not that nice at all, he demanded the man to buy him a mansion but never expected it to actually happened - Turns out the man really was one of the richest men in the world and now Maxi was under his wing for any finance issues he had. I wondered how long this will continue on before he refused to give Maxi anything.
Leixia finally stopped drooling all over Maxi after I threatened that I would take away the Dvapara-Yuga pendant from her if she continued her behaviour. She had no complaints and finally I was able to talk to Maxi in peace without having to worry about trivial matters.
I sat down with Maxi after the kids were consumed by the headgears that Maxi bought for them due to constant begging. While they were out cold by that technology, I took this opportunity as a way to deal with the reason why I originally came. I wondered how long it had been since we had a conversation like this by ourselves.
"Those kids are milking money off me!" Maxi gritted his teeth with a grin, "I don't know if my ATM will supply money anymore after this!"
ATM? I couldn't suppress my smile to this phrase, how appropriate!
I decided to direct my attention somewhere else, I hoped Maxi wouldn't kick us out. I had to admit this place was much better than my own house and if those kids were to ruin my chances to stay here... They are definitely never taking one step into my house again.
"Has Xianghua visited you?" I asked, scratching the back of my head, "Before her amnesia."
Maxi was about to open his mouth before he had gotten interrupted by what could be interpreted as a scream but it was in reality just those kids that couldn't pipe the hell down. During Maxi's mid action of standing up out of impulse, he looked at me in a confused matter which seemed to scream 'Why aren't you worried?'
I smiled, "You'll eventually get use to it."
Accepting the answer, he sat down and rolled his eyes at me. I couldn't help but let out a sigh, it was something I didn't wish to deal with daily but it had just gotten worse since Maxi went to buy whatever they wanted to be seen like the great uncle he is.
"You'll really fatten Xiba up if you keep buying him meat buns." I said, scolding him.
Maxi smirked and crossed his arms over his chest, "Don't you want to fatten him up so he won't be able to use Kali-Yuga and you can have it all to yourself?"
"What are you saying there's actually a ship between Kali-Yuga and I? No need to worry about matters concerning that, I had already given up the rights of that to him... Although I really do want to take it back."
Maxi seemed confused with the word 'ship' like I had first heard of it. Ship is a word I picked up from Leixia, she really liked reading stories about people and called that 'ship'. I hope I was using it correctly.
"What ship? But never mind that! You're a really bad friend! Stop entrusting stuff to kids like him! He'll end up destroying half the world like half my property!"
That, I couldn't deny. After Kali-Yuga had a spree of breaking Maxi's things, it had unfortunately not stopped there. It ended up losing control and diving into random items that Maxi valued; That was my fault too because I couldn't stop it but for the sake of being able to live here for a couple of days, I had to lie and place the blame on the most clumsiest and painfully annoying kid to win some sympathy points.
I continue to force a smile, "Well? Has Xianghua stepped foot here?"
Maxi thought for a while, I wondered what he really needed to think about - It was a 'yes' or 'no' question, not a essay I asked!
Ultimately noise came from the living room again and it was those two fighting over god knows what but after a shattering noise, I could see a vein pop on Maxi's head and he leaned in to the table and took the collar of my shirt with his hand and said.
"Xianghua promised me! She did!"
Had Maxi gone mad? I was choking, I couldn't breathe!
I tried to fight him off, I put both my hands on his hand to pull his grip away but I couldn't understand why he was acting so crazy, even the look in his eyes had gone to one where one could consider him to be bizarre.
"Maxi are you kidding?! You'll kill me!" I shout as he had tightened his grip with the loose collar space.
"She said she'll chop off my... My manhood! You understand, right? She is one crazy lady! I told her not to get me involved but she knew you'd come!"
I resorted to ripping off my t-shirt and kicked my chair backwards to try to escape his grasp, fortunately it had stopped there and what remained was Maxi's hand in the same position where he had clutched my collar.
I place both my hands around my neck and began to breath steadily while asking, "What is the matter with you?!"
"I had no choice," He replied, "For the sake of my manhood I had to lie, I had to! Xianghua would chop it off!"
"What the hell are you on about? What did Xianghua make you lie about?"
Hearing another shattering noise must have drove Maxi insane because he started to spout out everything in a fast matter without stopping.
"Xianghua came and told me if you ever came then I should lie about her having amnesia and if I muck that up, then tell you that her husband came around with her to try to get her to remember me but that didn't help so they are going to China but good lord, Kilik your damn kids are literally destroying my things, get out!"
"Xianghua lied?" I asked.
Maxi cleared his throat and dusted his sweat pants down with his hand, "Yeah, you really think Xianghua would lose much if she had amnesia anyway? That girl could really do with amnesia! Her mind is filled with threats!"
Heh, Maxi was right! Xianghua was... No, she managed to string me along with her stupid lies! Of course she is the greatest mastermind of all. I look at Maxi and let out a sigh, "So she just went on vacation for the fun of it."
Suddenly Xiba went flying into the room and the crash he made onto the wall made both Maxi and I cringe. Leixia, the culprit, followed closely behind, in a really basic fighting stance she almost charged at him again but when she laid eyes on Maxi, she went in love again.
"Uh, Lord Maxi..." She smiled with a goofy matter, "What are you doing here?"
He looked down at her in an unimpressed manner, "Yeah I don't know either, I mean, this isn't my mansion or anything."
The sarcasm made Xiba laugh but groan in pain from being thrown across the room into another room. I couldn't even deal with it anymore and I told the kids the truth, perhaps if they knew the truth then... Then!
Sweet relief of a sigh escaped my lips as I finished my explanation of what their irresponsible mother was up to, I was ready to hear their responses to the situation at hand but I wasn't sure if it was really the response I was hoping for.
The two troublemakers started to dance happily around the room and my mouth gaped. How could that be a good thing at all?
"We get to spend more time with you, Uncle Kiki! Isn't that great?!" She smiled, "And... Lord Maxi."
When Leixia's eyes met with Maxi's pants, her smile froze but easily left her face and she left the room in a depressed state, Xiba looked down at Maxi's pants too and also frowned.
Maxi looked down and scrunched up his brows, "Can sweatpants really cause a problem?!"
"Yes!" Shouted a person from the other room.
"So mum really dumped us on you?" Xiba laughs, "It was bound to happen."
I squinted my eyes dangerously, "How do you figure?"
Xiba shrugged his shoulders, "Leixia and I are always destroying things when we're together for some reason..."
"For some reason?!" My voice reached its highest point.
Maxi growled, "And you bought the misfortune duo into my house?! Are you crazy?!"
"Hey!" I shout back at Maxi, "Go put the blame on Xianguha, if it wasn't for her then this wouldn't have happened! Besides, how dare you put your manhood over our friendship? Don't you know what I go through to deal with these two?!"
"Oh jee thanks Uncle Kilik!" Xiba said in a sarcastic manner, "It is a treat to be with you too. Besides, why do you have your shirt off?"
"What shirt?" I asked, before realizing back a few minutes ago I resorted to tearing up my favourite shirt in order to get out of Maxi's grip.
"Yeah the one I am holding?" Maxi replies, slowly raising the fabric in his hands to show us both.
I let out a moan of annoyance before I went back into my room to retrieve another shirt.
Eventually the awkwardness has passed and Maxi had ordered one of his butlers to go prepare dinner, perhaps it was the greatest investment he put his money in after Leixia suggested it a day before.
It was possibly our first time having the butler cook for us, I wasn't sure what I was expecting out of it especially since cooking is something rare that happens and would be considered a treat amongst humans. We have machines that can recreate the most expensive and delicious foods at a cheap price and can be made within a second, that is why it is so popular amongst us - We refused to let a second go by whenever we felt hungry.
Another issue I had with the butler... He had no sense of taste and was neither human, he was a robot that Maxi's ATM would only provide money for because it would be a one off payment and not a everlasting employee one but if my memory serves me correct, he was one of the best robots out there so I was hoping there was nothing wrong with him. Especially since the ATM seemed a bit short tempered, I wouldn't be surprised if this was our last meal because he could have secretly configured the butler to poison us.
After the meal was complete, we all gathered around the table and we began to eat to our heart's content. The kids really did complain from the moment the butler began to cook to the moment the plates fell onto the dining table ready to serve, I thought I would never hear the end of their complaints.
It really was enjoyable to have patience, I wasn't sure if it was because I also felt like I had starved for a few days but this was quite delicious, even restaurants couldn't compare to this type of quality.
"This really taste like your dad's meals he use to make for us before we ended up having butlers too!" Xiba said, munching on his food as he talked to Leixia.
"Hey, stop talking with your mouth full!" She shouted, "And duh! Don't you remember? Dad invested his money into those robots so of course to make him seem valuable, they allowed him to make the robots take after him in some way, I guess cooking was what took after him."
"Huh?" Maxi blinked, "Your dad owns this company?"
Leixia sighs, "He is just a small shareholder along with mum."
"So you made me support your father's company investment?" Maxi mutters.
Leixia rolled her eyes, "I didn't say it had to be those ones but of course my dad only invests in the best robot company ever! That's why your Credit Card bought it for you!"
Xiba laughs, "Credit Card, what a doofus nickname."
"Not as doofus as whatever is going inside your brain." Leixia said in the exact same time as I thought it.
"Hey!" Xiba growled back, "At least I don't like Uncle Maxi."
"You really don't?" Maxi asked, "What the hell am I buying you all those gifts for?! Hey, Kilik, tell him to like me. I am their best uncle, right? Who is versing me for this title?!"
Xiba flushed redder than his hair, "Jeez! I didn't mean it like that!"
Again, why are they all foolish to the point of no return?
Leixia laughs, "Lord Maxi! You're so innocent!"
"Innocent?" Maxi asked.
I could no longer tell if he was just being dense or plain stupid anymore.
I change the subject, "I think we've bothered Uncle Maxi long enough, haven't we? Let's spend our last night here and we'll wake up early to put a plan in place before we go."
The kids looked at each other and despite the sadness, they agreed. Perhaps they felt bad for always breaking his valuables. I could tell Maxi loosened up a bit.
"And I'm selling all the gifts I bought for you!" Maxi replied, "Unless you feel like paying 1 Million in cash for the damage you've done."
Yet again the kids had no complaints because they were the ones who were causing all the problems around here. I could almost feel proud to be their guardian because not once did they complain.
"You can ship yourself with one item!" Maxi said.
"What?" We all spouted after hearing that.
I could tell the kids were tense, I hoped Maxi didn't really mean he was going to sell them for money although I wouldn't reject this idea but I surely believe Xianghua would sue me for negligence or something.
"Why are you saying 'what'?" Maxi asked looking at me.
I could feel the evils from the kids, maybe they thought I put Maxi up to it. I gulped, "What? Don't bunch me together with your ideas!"
"Ideas? You're the one who said I ship you with the Kali-Yuga or something, like ship is compatibility, right?"
Leixia was the first to face-palm before she bursts out laughing, "Lord Maxi! Shipping is shipping two people together, not like people and inanimate object compatibilities."
She drifted off to thought but then said, "But I have seen stories like that but they are rarely-"
"Alright, we get it!" Xiba rolled his eyes, punching Leixia in the arm, "When you get her talking about this, she'll never shut up!"
"Hey!" She shouted, "You shut up!"
Once again, they started to argue again but instead of Maxi being annoyed about it, he leaned closer to me and whispered into my ear, "Am I not a cool uncle anymore?"
I let out a sigh, I couldn't believe I was going to be stuck with them for another night.
