Back from college for the summer and finally got some writing done. Still on the first few episodes of my version of season two. Involves Justice League and a whole lot of other fun characters I've wanted to see since forever.

Barry zipped from one lab machine to another. He was on his 10th case of the day, with a stack of folders in the file wrack ready for Singh to pick up. The door was shut tight so no one could see him, but he still stopped every once in awhile to check the camera he put on the outside of his lab (courtesy of Thawne.)

The camera beeped and Barry slowed to a stop, unlocking the door before getting back to his test.

"I think this is more files I've seen from you than all of last month." Singh said collecting the stack "motivated this week Allen?"

"The busier I am, the more I'm doing, the less...empty this place feels." Barry said, managing to give the Captain a small smile.

"Hunter's coming back from training for the next few days. Last days are always the hardest." Singh nodded "push though it Barry. You'll be okay."

"Thanks Captain" Barry nodded "don't worry. I'm going to dinner with a few friends. They promised to keep me distracted these last few days."

"Cisco and that red head?"

"Cisco and Caitlin? No not them. Some new people I met more recently. Should have a lot to talk about."

Singh raised a eyebrow at Barry. "Okay well, when you're done with that test there's someone downstairs for you. A lawyer?"

Barry groaned a little. "He's taking care of Well's will. I'll be right down."

Barry sighed, staring at the flash drive that the lawyer had given him. The last thing he wanted was to know what twisted words Thawne had left for him.

He shook his head and got his suit on, heading out for patrol. He had no time to be bruiting about Thawne's will while the city was still in shambles. The last few months he had been trying to rebuild. All of this was his fault, the least he could do was lend a hand with the cleanup.

Though progress slowed as he kept bumping into new heroes tracking these bug monsters that cropped up in the city every so often. They were easy to take down once you found them (although Barry was not found of the bath of green goo that followed them being destroyed) but they were a pain to track. They didn't show up on any radar he had access to.

The only person that had any luck was Hal, but that ring tracked anything without any effort in the Lantern's part. It was a little unfair. It made Barry want one of his own.

He raced around the city looking for the creatures, or anything else that would need the Flash's attention. He saved a few people from getting mugged, returned a purse and an animal or two, walked a little kid home after getting lost, and then started heading back to the lab. He was thankful for the slow night. Barry didn't think he could deal with one of the rogues tonight.

Barry was so lost in his own head that he didn't even register the green light until Hal was landing on the roof of the lab, waving at Barry as the speedster ran to him

"GL!" He squealed, slowing down to hug the brunette. "You're early!"

"Yeah, couldn't let Bats have you all to himself, now could I lightning bolt?"

"Come on glow stick, he said he had something serious to discuss with us."

"Does he have the ability to be anything but serious?"

"Hal"

"What? Weird stuff happens, what's the point if you can't make a joke about it later?"

Barry laughed and shook his head, walking down to the cortex arm-and-arm with the Lantern. He and the Bat went together like oil and water, but he was happy to have met them both. They had done battle together quite a few times after Bruce Wayne had come to recruit them for his team. Barry still grinned when he thought of Bruce's introduction of sitting in the Lab's chair in the dark. He had to be sneaky and his own special brand of dramatic at everything didn't he?

"So why does Bruce need to bring himself here instead of us zipping to Gotham again?" Hal asked as he slipped his dark green tie on.

"He said he needed to discuss something with us, and then show me something, something he needed to have stay at the lab," Barry explained, skipping his own tie and suit jacket on.

"Oh...you think he finally caught one of those aliens he was warning you about?"

"God I hope not. I wouldn't know what to DO with an alien."

"You...you literally own a research lab, Barry."

"I didn't ask for it, Hal." Barry huffed "and frankly I don't know what I'm doing with the building. It's my headquarters yeah, but other than that...I'm not sure what it can be."

"Whatever you want. That's the point of owning something isn't it?" Hal chuckled "doing what you want with it and having no one to tell you no?"

"I guess, but I have to think of things. S.T.A.R. labs needs to be doing something or people are going to wonder what are lights are on for."

"How about..." Hal looked around the room. Barry smiled as this was one of the small indicators of Hal's mind getting its gears moving. "Oh! You care about ecology and all that right? Doing something with plastic? I hate seeing it on the beach. And flying around without all the debris and litter would be so nice!"

"Did you just come up with a good idea Jordan?" Barry blinked, smirking.

"They may be few and far between, but they happen."

"Good to know" Barry laughed. "We should get going. I hate being late for anything Bruce does. His stink eye is the WORST."

The Bat's meeting was not just the three of them as he led on. Hal and Barry walked into the place and glanced at the faces staring back at them. The Wayne Tech building had been completely cleared of its night workers and a round table had been set up. Barry took his seat and smiled nervously at the new faces that surrounded the brave and the bold duo.

First, there were Wonder Women, her face they both were familiar with. She sat up straight, royal and commanding as always. She sat at the left of Bruce, who still had sunglasses on despite it being past sunset, same as Robin always did.

Clark Kent sat at his right, glasses in his shirt pocket now. Barry still had yet to see how it fooled him for so long that he was the man of steel. Iris ranted on his and Lois' work enough.

Those were all the people Barry had gotten to know over the past few months. But he was still unfamiliar enough with both of them to spike his nerves. The last thing he wanted was to mess up in front of the golden trio.

Two new faces caught his attention as he looked around. A buff man with dark blonde hair, scruffy facial hair, and a trident resting on his chair.

The Aqua man Barry realized once he saw the weapon. He had investigated him a few weeks before his trip to Starling City. Now he was sitting across a table from his mystery man. A million questions about talking fish sprang into Barry's head.

Next to him was a plain looking man he recognized as John Jones. Kara had mentioned her version of the Martian when they had met, so this must be his earth's Martian Manhunter.

"Bruce really pulled all the stops didn't he?" Hal whispered, glancing down at the small screen his ring was projecting, hidden by the tablecloth from the others.

The night ran long as the 7 heroes talked the night away, talking about what Diana identified as Para-Demons. They had been popping up in all of their cities, even down in Atlantis (which actually existed. Barry was still reeling from that conversation.)

"A team?" Arther enquirer dryly when Bruce suggested it.

"It would make things easier with something this global. If these Para-Demons are a pre to what Diana says they are, we need to know if something happens. We need communication between us all. I brought you all here because you are the most powerful and prominent heroes around. But not any one of us can take on a threat of this size alone."

"So what? We just give each other our phone numbers and hope people check the group chat when we get invaded?" Hal asked, raising an eyebrow.

"I have communicators adapted for each of you. They all link to the Batcave-"

"The Batcave? Is that our headquarters for this?" Hal asked "no offense but the Batcave isn't exactly built for a team setting. It's your playing field."

"It's my team, where else would you suggest Jordan?"

"How does D.C. sound?"

Barry was surprised the words came out of his mouth so quickly.

"What's in D.C.?" Diana asked calmly.

"Well I own S.T.A.R. Labs now, and it has storage facilities and places all over the country. The biggest one is in Washington D.C., but it hasn't been used for anything in years. No one would question it going off the grid...I think."

Bruce just stared at Barry, his face wasn't exactly blank, but the speedster couldn't place what emotion was tied to it at all.

"It's not a bad idea," he said finally, Barry grinning. He had given the Batman a good idea. This was the best day of his life. "It could be a good starting point. But I was thinking of something a little more...secret."

Bruce put a hologram up in front of the table.

"Is-is that a space station?!" Clark explained.

Barry was running home with the so-called "Watch Tower" plans in his pocket. Having said his goodbyes to his new team he raced off to his and Hunter's apartment. As much as he would have liked to stay there chatting with them about the headquarters, it was close to midnight and he had work in the morning.

He had just zipped by the bridge connecting Keystone and Central City when something caught his eye. A little trail of lightning. Bright yellow and white zipped through the city block, going everywhere. Barry felt his heart race.

Not another speedster villain. He couldn't take another Thawne.

He raced to the trail, ready for a battle when it turned right for him. Barry heard screaming as it zipped by, tripping him up. The Flash toppled over and he looked around. The new speedster wasn't attacking him, they were just trying to avoid things.

"They can't stop." Barry whispered as he raced to catch up. Some direction thanks to some strategically placed cars and he finally scooped the little speedster up. A small kid, around 10, in Barry's arms. He was vibrating still.

"Kid, you need to calm down Alright? Breath with me, everything is going to be alright, it's the Flash, I'm here." Barry, vibrating with the little boy and guiding him until he was at normal speed. He could finally look at the child. A mess of red hair on his head and pale skin, and green eyes rivaling Barry's own.

"I-I woke up and I couldn't stop. I couldn't stop!" He said, crying and exhausted. Barry caught him before he fell over from being too weak.

"Kid I'm going to help you okay? What's your name?"

"Wally" He croaked, now snuggling up him in Barry's arms "Wally West."

And Wally West makes an appearance! I'm basing this on red-headed Wally as he's my favorite from the comics and Young Justice. I missed his character in this show and wish they did either of the Wally's justice in The Flash show. If you have not seen Young Justice I highly recommend it. Season 3 is coming out this year and I'm still screaming about it! A hint of that and the Justice League movie with this chapter and I love it. The next will explore how Wally fits into this universe!
