Breathe In

Remus tightened the grip on his wand, staring down at his book and wishing that he had tunnel vision. The dormitory was in half darkness, and Remus was alone. Or at least, he wished he was, because the only other occupant was Sirius Black.
Normally, Remus could handle being around Sirius as a friend, but when Sirius was alone in the room with him, walking around in a towel and letting the whole world know that he was going for a shower "Cos I feel really, really dirty" it was another matter entirely. But Sirius returned two minutes later, still, happily, towel-clad.
Sirius' playful face appeared in front of Remus' own, pushing his book out of the way before flopping down next to him. Remus tried to keep his lungs working. Breathe in….and out….excellent. Oh. Breathe in….and out….and in….and out.
"Hey, Moony?"
"Hmm… yeah?"
"Prongs and Lily just left…"
"So…?"
"They. Left. Together. She was all giggly and…and…he kissed her. On the cheek, but still…"
"I know."
"You….you know?" Sirius' face looked up from at his friends' with such awe Remus had to crack a smile, which turned into laughter at the look of mock-hurt on Sirius' face as he shook his head.
"You make me laugh, Padfoot."
"Yeah….why?"
"Why? I dunno. You're fun." Breathe in….and out….
"Whatever." Sirius' face grew serious, and Remus struggled to look anywhere but Sirius' bare torso. It was hard…it just looked so….touchable….. Breathe in….and out…..
The two boys lay in companiable silence for a while.
"Hey, Moony?" Sirius sat up, and turned…his movements bringing him inches from Remus' face and opening the towel to his thigh. "I've been thinking…fun. Fun's good. Fun's healthy even, right?"
His friend dared not breathe anymore…he just wanted…so badly…
"So, I've been thinking….of what's fun." Normally at this point, Remus would have made a quip of thinking too hard, but somehow it just wasn't the time or the place.
"F-fun?"
"Yes, fun." Sirius leaned in….closer and closer….."And breathe in, Moony." Impact.
Remus didn't breathe in. He didn't have to. And Sirius was giving him mouth to mouth anyway.
