Hi! So here I am, back with the end of the Titanomachy! I've also done some correction and grammar work on this story, I hope it's better! I think We'll reach the end faster than anticipated, as I'm coming to the realization that quite a bit of the original stories events don't need to happen anymore given how drastically the world have changed…
Anyway, hope you enjoy, and thank for reading me!

XXVI. The Sword of Summer

When they woke up, both Percy's and Nico's team were greeted by the welcome surge of notifications that confirmed that the Roman had done it – taking the time to make use of the boon that were the numerous rewards to unlock new perk, round out some skills and up a few main characteristics, they were soon all headed back toward New York – those in Hell via a shadow portal, those in Atlantis hitching a ride with some ichthyocentaurs once more to rally the Dawn Treader – then it had been a simple matter of triggering the ship-wide portkey that would take them all home.

Adra intended to do just the same, but with a quick side-trip home to tell her brother he had to visit Persephone. But first, she started her morning by using up the rewards from the recent battles – upping her weakest Main Characteristic first, then reinforcing her Health Points and Critic Chance and Rate in her Secondary Stats, before turning toward what would take more time: using her new stock of Skill and Perk Points.
The Skill Points mainly went to her fighting and magic abilities – putting her magical knowledge at about the level of a Hogwarts graduate, not to mention helping her all but catch up with Carter's level in Egyptian magic.

The Child of the Sea and Child of Rome perks were unlocked just as quickly as she had the Child of the Underworld one – while she didn't spend that much time underwater or in New Rome, there were still five years to go before the end of the millennium, and she didn't know what the future had in store.
Then she forked out the PP for the Call of The Wild perk – honestly, she didn't know why she hadn't already unlocked it. Her only excuse was that she had been rather out of it when she woke up from her healing coma after the Hunt!

Then she picked the perks that would improve her elements among the myriad of hunting perks recently unlocked with all the ongoing battles…
The incarnate goddess was a bit put out by the fact that most of the War Hunting Perks were all but useless to her – she was already able to speak and understand universal beast-speak, even if she was far more comfortable with the parseltongue and canine variant of it, and Shape Shifting was one of her Past Life Perk. While it made sense to unlock things like wings, or the merfolk form, as they had a direct impact on her base form and ability and weren't natural to her current specie, regular beast forms weren't that difficult to shift to with her current skill…

But well, Chaos Game system was fun and all – but it was for all of her heroes, not only her, and she was pretty sure most of them would greatly enjoy the different animal forms they would be able to unlock.
Inari's favor, which she'd unlocked over the Easter break, was unlocked too, since her kitsune form had proved astonishingly effective during the battle of the Fields of Asphodel; as was the Heart of Fire perk she'd discovered when visiting the Chinese underworld – she felt she'd left her fire manipulation fall a bit behind with her rather natural hold on shadows and blood.
Having used about half of her perk points, she stopped there for the moment, dropping by to say her goodbye to Persephone, Xolotl and Anubis before opening a portal to the Black Moon house.

Where it was immediately apparent that something strange was going on…

¤.¤.¤

"We've been unable to send any message to you, or Sirius, or anyone on the other side of the ocean!" ranted Remus
The werewolf looked like he hadn't slept – which may well be the case.
Adra frowned "But I didn't have any trouble calling Padfoot, Blanche and Kagetsu?" she mused
"Which is why Set, Fenris and Sirius went along with them." Luna nodded "I'm delighted to see that their presence was useful enough that you didn't need to overdo it."
The Potter head barely held on a blush at that – the witch was clear-sighted as always, and sure enough, if the three of them and Xolotl hadn't dropped by to help, she may have still been sleeping off the after-effect of the battle…

Still, what was happening was becoming clear – and it meant she had to head back to New York sooner rather than later.
"The Crooked One is meddling with time in all the Olympian area of influence." she stated, before turning toward Pyxis "You need to drop by Hell and have a talk with Persephone." she got up "As for me, I'm headed back."

"Not without us, you aren't." Remus contradicted her – then, not letting her contradict him "When you left a few days ago it was just to check up on things! Now the worst of the war is apparently underway, and we didn't know because the mad titan is making time messy, not only my son and my daughter but several other kids I've seen grown up are in the middle of it!" he pointed out "Wixen Britain doesn't need us right now, you sent Voldemort packing hard enough that he's still licking his wounds, and there's plenty of aurors and half-blood ready to fight back…" his eyes were nearly glowing "I'm coming because that fight is far more important right now, and you had to know we wouldn't simply stand by when you gave us the tools to train, and introduced us to those kids!"

She hugged him.
He was right after all – she'd been so set on worrying about leaving people behind just in case, and not stepping on too many toes by not inviting people from other pantheons when Zeus was too busy to agree to their presence in his territory…
But ultimately, those boundaries had been becoming more and more useless as the gods started to mingle again, and of course, her family was never one that could stand by and let others fight without helping.

So, she stepped back, and opened a shadow-portal to the Empire State Building's reception, where she knew camp half-blood was supposed to relocate to while she'd gone to help Hades.

Luke felt relief when word came that the Dawn Treader had just arrived in port – and Nico stepped out of the shadows.
Things had been going – strangely – ever since the two teams had left, and Chaos Game had announced

[Camp Half Blood had entered the battlefield: +10 000WP]

[Wixen half-bloods entered the battlefield: +10 000 WP]

(begin flashback)

The first sign that something strange was going on – was when all outside communications had been cut, even the television becoming disrupted and the images coming as if in slow motion.
Even the Mist couldn't cover something that big, and panic had started to spread in the streets.
That was when the second sign that things weren't normal arrived – though in retrospective, it had been rather convenient.

Hypnos and Morpheus were on the titans' side, and clearly, they wanted to avoid dealing with the distraction that panicked civilians would cause. The city that never sleep was sent into slumber.
By then, they'd already been setting up in the Empire State Building's reception area, who was temporarily becoming both war room and field hospital – and they didn't need to see the wristwatches and other clocks ticking slowly to realize that Kronos was using his powers.

[Advanced Camp established: +1000 WP]

At first, they hadn't been too sure about the why of his move – but soon it became rather clear.
When the hours lasted whole days, and they half-bloods were running all around the city, trying to keep the enemies at bay. Enemies that would retreat whenever they realized they were loosing ground, only to come back but moments later, healed and fresh, while their own forces were running ragged.
Clearly, time wasn't running in their favor.

¤.¤.¤

He could have – and did – kissed Annabeth when four hours/day into the siege, the young leader of Athena's cabin came to him, Daedalus' laptop under her arm, and announced "All the city's statues are automatons."
The downside was – said automatons had to be activated manually, with both a switch and an activation phrase. The upside – like demigoddess had said…
All the statues were automatons.
And contrarily to them, automatons didn't get tired, nor needed to rest and eat and drink.

[Daedalus' plan 23 Activated: +10 000 WP]

Who would have thought that the creator of the maze that had claimed the life of so many half-bloods over the centuries, would become one of their favorite god?
Plan 23 had given the half-bloods a bit of breathing room.
It had also annoyed Kronos forces badly enough that they were now coming twice as hard at them, never relenting, never retreating.
Little by little, they were loosing ground.

Soon, they'd lost Long Island, and all the children from camp Half Blood were carefully avoiding thinking about the place that was their second home – or even their main one, for some.
In a way, Kronos had miscalculated.
Sure, losing the Camp had put a damper on the half-bloods mood.
But, by the sixth hour/day, they were entrenched in Manhattan.

[Manhattan fortified: +5000 WP]

[Minor god (Hudson)entered the battlefield: +2000 WP]

Naiad and water spirits were holding the river under the helm of the river god himself.
The dryads and satyrs were going around with Demeter and Persephone's children, growing fortification over each of the island's bridge, and even the tunnels.
The wixen district had raised it's war-wards – something that hadn't been used since Grindelwald, the last dark lord who'd brought the fight to New York – and sent reinforcements to assist the half-bloods.

[Wixen entered the battlefield: +5000WP]

Honestly, Luke was stunned they hadn't had more casualties. Like most of the war-council members, he didn't remember the last time he'd slept, and the clean hall they'd invested at the start of the battle was now a battlefield hospital, children of Apollo and any other healing deity working side by side with mediwixen; potions, ambrosia, and nectar haphazardly piled in any corner that wasn't used by a wounded.
They'd opened a room to store those who'd fallen on the battlefield, enchanted with a stasis field by the wixen. A second room had to be opened by the ninth hour/day – the son of Hermes had broken down when he'd realized they'd need to ask the wixen to enchant this room too, that so many had already fallen.
Clarisse had been the one to hug him until he calmed down.
No one had said anything about it– he wasn't the first, and wouldn't be the last one.

¤.¤.¤

Of course, because a bad news never came alone, that was also the hour/day when Kronos' forces redoubled their assault.
The Crommyonian sow had entered the battlefield, plowing through the defenses of the Lincoln tunnel.
"So why aren't they taking advantage?" Annabeth was frowning at the war map, that was now animated thanks to the efforts of the wixen and the children of Hecate
Her eyes widened, a faint smile on her lips, as she realized that the enemy forces were getting attacked from the outside.

[Party Ponies entered the battlefield: +5000 WP]

With Kronos' forces unable to take advantage of the opening in their defenses, the wixen and half-bloods had immediately dispatched a team to take care of the gigantic sow, another to build back their defenses and a last one to take care of the injured.
Thalia and Leo made a rather astoundingly efficient team, the daughter of Zeus making thunder rain on their opponents from the air, while the son of Hephaestus was the heart of a living tornado of fire on the ground, neatly stopping Kronos' troupes progression in the Lincoln tunnel – meanwhile, a trio of sons of Ares had taken care of the problematic monster.

[Crommyonian Sow pushed back: +1000 WP]

It was during the twelfth hour/day that those that were hooked on Chaos Game received a flow of notifications announcing the victory of the Hell-team.
Within the same hour/day, hellhounds and spartoi had joined the fray, led by the three furies, while Hades himself, they'd informed them, was headed toward Typhon.

[Hell reinforcement entered the battlefield: +5000 WP]

The fourteenth hour/day had brought similar tidings from the sea, not to mention Triton himself at the helm of the maritime forces…

[Atlantis reinforcement entered the battlefield: +5000 WP]

[God (Triton) entered the battlefield: +5000 WP]

The tide of battle had nearly changed there and there, but of course Kronos wasn't about to accept defeat that easily. In the next day/hour, no less than four drakons had been released, a Lydian among them, wreaking havoc on the George Washington bridge, while the Holland tunnel had been breached by a charge led by Hyperion himself.
And of course, it was becoming impossible to ignore the wind that was growing stronger and stronger.

¤.¤.¤

It took some time, and weakened other parts of the island, but soon, Clarisse had assembled the children of war, be them born from Ares, or any other war god – and together, the fearsome team was rushing at the dangerous drakons, and their army or Scythian dracanaes.
The Lydian drakon maybe fated to be defeated only by a child of Ares – it didn't mean they couldn't get help to do the deed.
While Clarisse was leading her wild charge against the monsters – Luke and Piper were facing Hyperion.
"You know, when you told me about strolling the battlefield while asking the enemy to put their weapons down, I thought it was just an example, I didn't expect to actually do it." the daughter of Aphrodite grumbled

By her side, a nearly identical girl, thought with hair braided in a multitude of little tresses, was smiling wildly "This if going to be fun!" a wink "Besides, I'll protect you."
Piper smiled – they'd done the adoption ritual a couple of hour/days ago, thanks to the wixen, and decided that if other foreign gods had helped in Hell, there was no reason the nearly faded Egyptian war goddess couldn't assist too.
With how diminished she was, Satis knew that she was barely more powerful than the half-bloods around her – but she was a goddess of war and of protection, and weakened or not, she didn't think she could just stand to the side and let all those mortals she'd learned to know at camp Half-Blood fight alone.

[Incarnate god (Auryon McLean / Satis) entered the battlefield: +1000 WP]

The scene was surreal.
Just like she'd said, Piper strolled the battlefield, most enemies falling on their own weapon under the power of her charmspeak – those that didn't swiftly put down by her new sibling's deadly arrows – all the while, Luke was battling Hyperion, the demigod using just as much the winged shoes Hermes gifted to all his children as his natural agility and proficiency with a sword, dancing around the titan's powerful attacks.

Hyperion was caparisoned in a golden armor, that looked rather similar to Imperial Gold, and wielded a long sword just as golden. His eyes were shinning with a blinding light that made it difficult to look directly at him – but Luke wasn't the best swordsman of his generation, able to beat even the children of Ares, for nothing.
The titan's attention may be focused solely on the child of Hermes, it didn't mean that his troupes had stopped moving, and while Piper and Auryon had devastated waves after waves of monsters, the sisters were tiring.
This was of course when Hypnos entered the fray.

The goddess and demigoddess shared a worried glance across the battlefield, each knowing well enough that they weren't in any state to take any god with how exhausted they were.
Piper stumbled.
Soft hands prevented her from falling, and a familiar voice whispered "You've done enough, sister. It's our turn now."
The copper-skinned girl's eyes widened, having trouble processing what she was seeing.

¤.¤.¤

Nine half-bloods, on the pegasi that had escaped camp Half-Blood's sack, donned in celestial bronze armors, weapons in hands, with about two dozens wixen with them, one of which was already handing her a bottle of nectar and waving his wand to check on her vitals…
"We may not have your mastery of charmspeak, nor even be as good on the battlefield…" Silena smiled to her as she mounted back on her winged-horse "But it doesn't mean we'll let our home burn without lifting a finger."
"Those Philistines have destroyed my favorite shoe store." Piper heard one of her half-siblings whisper with venom in her voice "As if destroying our camp wasn't bad enough!"

It was soon evident that for the children of Aphrodite – working with the wixen was a rather ideal situation.
A sustained Sonorus had amplified their voices, and with it the reach of their charmspeak – and her half-siblings were singing, a chorus that she realized was somehow amplifying the power of their ability – something she knew they didn't know how to do but a couple of days ago, but was rather reminiscent of the coordinated magic she'd heard about from Adra…
Right now, nine voices as one – the other children of Aphrodite were stronger than Piper herself.

Strong enough that once more, the enemies were turning around on themselves, making for easy picking for the rain of spells coming from the wixen…
Strong enough that Hypnos himself had stopped in his tracks, and even Hyperion's attacks were slowing down, letting Luke land a first hit, then another.
Thanking the wizard that had healed her, Piper took out the silver dagger Artemis had gifted her – and the bronze one that came from her mother.
"You should really rest a bit more." the wizard couldn't help but protest

"I should." she agreed, before turning toward the battlefield "But how could I, when even my siblings are fighting?"
The men's eyes softened, landing on a nearby witch, a bit younger, yet clearly related to him, and he stopped protesting, instead casting a few spells on her, all unfamiliar, but she could already feel their effects.
"Those are auror restricted spells." he explained "You'll be faster, stronger, more clear-headed." a shrug "But once you stop fighting, you'll be paying the price in pain and exhaustion."

Piper nodded in thanks, not too surprised by the downside – and stepped back in the battlefield.
Her siblings were holding back Hypnos – but it was taking all of their force to do so.
The demigoddess slipped around the battlefield, knowing not to underestimate the god – lazy he maybe, Hypnos still was the twin of Thanatos, and as such she doubted he was weak.

It was discreetly that she made her way up to him, the god's attention focused enough on her godly siblings that he didn't realize her presence until the last minute – until she was jumping up, wings on her back, that – though she wasn't the best with them – gave her a much better reach to sink her two weapons in the god's throat, getting drenched in ichor as he let a startle, garbled scream that was cut short when he exploded in golden dust.

[Hypnos pushed back: +5000 WP]

Nearly at the same time, there was another scream, far more wrathful, as not too far Luke was finishing his fight too, having taken advantage of the moment of inattention Piper's feat had elicited from the titan.

[Hyperion pushed back: +5000 WP]

"See," Luke winked, clearly just as exhausted as her, but thrilled to have "just like I told you, a stroll in a park."
The daughter of Aphrodite laughed, feeling the rush of adrenaline come down – and just like the wizard had warned her, she was ready to crash.
"I think I'll take a nap now." she answered – before finally loosing consciousness, Luke not far behind her

¤.¤.¤

By the time they woke up, the sixteenth hour/day was starting, the children of war had rather successfully pushed back the drakons, and the other half-bloods with Chaos Game explained that the Romans had taken Othrys back, which had considerably weakened Kronos, whose temporal field wasn't quite as efficient as before, an hour apparently lasting for only half a day instead of a full one now.
Thalia and Leo had also cooperated once more, managing to banish Morpheus, though the daughter of Zeus had a close call with a giant's club when she nearly went to sleep in the middle of the fight because of the god's powers.

Thankfully, Hypnos and Morpheus' spell on the city hadn't broken when they'd been banished, as the wixen had managed to take a hold of it, and tie it to the Mist – in time, they would break it, but for now, it was more useful than a hindrance.
The winds around Manhattan had picked up again, the spirits that were protecting Olympus from the air becoming more and more strained as Typhon's came closer to the city, and Kronos had finally been seen on the battlefield, along with Menoeitus, Lelantos, Perses, Pallas and Kois.

In the following two-hours/day, they lost nearly as many people against Kronos, as they had since the beginning of the fight, being weakened clearly not meaning that much to the terrifying being.
That was when the Atlantis and Hell teams arrived.
(flashback ends)

The children of the sea and of the underworld hadn't needed more than a glance, and for those linked to Chaos Game, the onslaught of notification from the area, to understand that something was amiss.
Realizing that while a single day had gone by for them, over two weeks of uninterrupted battle had happened in New York was staggering. A few minutes of debrief around the war map, and they were heading out to relieve those that needed it, which, with six titans on the battlefield, was just about everyone.
Some were starting to lose hope, Luke knew, as the number of the dead kept on pilling, and Kronos cleaved his way through the battlefield, having all but made his way to the door-step of Olympus.

But right now, the son of Hermes was feeling on the contrary quite hopeful.
The winds were settling down – not only that, but with a swirling of shadows, a large portal opened in the crowded hall of the Empire State Building, letting out a flood of wixen and half-bloods, of gods and magicians.
He smiled.
His family had arrived.

¤.¤.¤

Out poured Adra and her familiars, immediately followed by her brother – then Leifr and Alys, Remus, the Lovegood, the Kane and their students, and even the Weasley.
The regular chaos of the war-room and hospital stopped for an instant – then started anew, as over thirty people spilled over the room, Molly and Pandora, but also Nephthys, Luna and Hathor immediately going toward the mediwixen and other assembled healers, along with a couple of Per Sesen students, while the rest turned toward Luke and the war council.
"Where do you need us?"

Luke hesitated for a second, then threw any caution to the winds "How much can you do against half a dozen titans?"
Several Egyptian gods shared a look, spreading their senses.
"It depends on the local gods' say so." Horus admitted, clearly not liking it – but he was the living leader of his pantheon after all, and needed to think about diplomacy too
A little girl, who'd been helping with the healers, chose that moment to affirm "The hearth will always accept help from family."
Adra's eyes widened, as she realized just who was talking – she nodded her head in thanks, and the Egyptian, having come to the same realization as her, smiled too and affirmed with a bloodthirsty smile "We'll take care of them."

Luke immediately pointed out the position of each of the titans on the map – and Horus, Set, but also Serqet and Bast immediately left, with a burst of power – leaving behind them but the scent of warm sand.

[Incarnate god (Bast Tonks / Bast) entered the battlefield: +1000 WP]

[Incarnate god (Nathara Weasley / Serqet) entered the battlefield: +1000 WP]

[Incarnate god (Akhet Weasley / Horus) entered the battlefield: +1000 WP]

[Restricted god (Set) entered the battlefield: +1000 WP]

"Those… Weren't merely half-bloods." Clarisse mumbled, rather stunned, the daughter of Ares having felt just how attuned to war each of them was
"There aren't any half-bloods among the Egyptians." Carter informed her dryly, before adding with an amused smile "Though it may well change in the near futures, now that so many have been freed of their prison, and have taken a mortal body."
The wixen and magicians were all quickly sent on different battlefields – as for the remaining Adra, Pyxis, Carter and Leifr – they eyed the war map, and spread their senses further.

"Well, I've promised his mother I would take care of Ethan." golden tomoes were swirling in her green eyes, and for the first time, it was evident to all the half-bloods around that she wasn't quite one of them either
"I'll take care of the rabble then." Leifr offered with a wink – his shape blurred, regular clothing replaced by a long, green leather mantle and armor, his wand going back to its usual staff-shape
The Norse and Celt god disappeared in a shower of snowflakes, followed but an instant later by Adra's shadows.

Carter and Pyxis shared a glance, the elder on raising an eyebrow, his usual wand growing to a far more sinister scythe – the younger answering by cocking his gun, and smiling "Let's see what this father of monsters is all about."
A swirl of shadow and a ray of light later, they'd disappeared.
Clarisse gave an enthusiastic slap to Luke's back, guffawing "OK, I get why you're all so proud of your family, now." she admitted "Gods? Living among mortals?" she laughed, as she realized, rather quickly "All of those changes that started right around you arrived at camp…" there was a new light in her eyes – the hope that had been slowly dwindling as the days of battle wore on all now renewed "It wasn't a coincidence, was it?"

¤.¤.¤

Luke smiled, happy to finally be able to tell just how extraordinary his very large, very strange family really was.
"It really wasn't." a smile "Adra's our very own goddess of heroes after all."
"I'll say," another son of Hermes mused from a nearby cot where he was healing "With how much you've told us about your family, that's one goddess I can pray to, without a doubt!"
Their attention was drawn toward the war map, where in short succession, several large red dots had disappeared.

[Menoeitus pushed back: +5000 WP]

[Lelantos pushed back: +5000 WP]

[Perses pushed back: +5000 WP]

[Pallas pushed back: +5000 WP]

[Kois pushed back: +5000 WP]

"Well," Annabeth mused, her smile indicating just how much weight had been lifted from her shoulders "I guess we've held the line, eh?"
Luke smiled, dragging the younger demigoddess under his side in an affectionate hug "That we have."
Somehow, everyone had quite naturally converged outside – where; just out of the gates of the Empire State Building, Leifr was efficiently taking care of Kronos' troupes – while Adra herself was facing the titan.

Except – it wasn't quite Adra anymore, but Shadow herself that was standing amidst the rubble of Manhattan, twelve tails floating in an unseen wind, alpha markings and moon on her face, and power swirling lazily around her, making her appear every bit the predator and goddess she really was.

[Past Life Aura Activated: 05:00]

Facing her, was what had once upon a time been Ethan Nakamura – but if the Asian face and slender stature were still familiar to those who knew the boy, the cold aura and deadly golden eyes were more than enough proof that it wasn't him controlling his body anymore.
But clearly – he may not have the large stature of his fellow titans – Kronos still was the most powerful among them, going blow for blow, katana against katana, facing the Old One and her three familiars without faltering.

And just as impressive was Shadow, matching him blow for blow, her blade singing against his, when until now, all had fallen not only to his might, but also to his skills…
Between two attacks, Padfoot, Blanche and Kagetsu were fighting too, the titan managing to use ice, lighting or fire, but also shadows, plants, and even pure magic, making him a formidable opponent.
Of course, right now, Shadow was facing him – with alchemy at the tip of her fingers, magic singing in her veins, and blade in hand.

"You know, Ethan, your mother was quite worried about you when I encountered her."
The misstep was slight enough that none of the half-bloods caught it – the Egyptians god, back from their respective battles, and Loki, who'd finished cleaning up the area, sure did.
"His control on the boy is slipping, uh?" Akhet mused
"Quite a strong-headed brat, to be able to retain his sense of self when possessed by someone so powerful." Set pointed out, approval clear in his voice

"Shouldn't you be helping?" a rather brave daughter of Hermes asked hesitantly
"Kronos' form is too small, we'd only get in her way." Bast explained kindly – she did like children, after all
"Oh. Right." the girl nodded "I guess tactics and strategies do work for gods too…" she mused, a bit surprised
"They do," the goddess agreed "especially when we're in human form like right now."

¤.¤.¤

Somehow, without realizing it, she found herself explaining – both the ongoing battle, but also the subtleties of godly form, incarnation, and possession to the surrounding half-bloods and wixen, while they watched Shadow push back Kronos, little by little.
The battle – wasn't easy by any mean, and all the gods had winced when they'd felt, at the five-minute mark of Adra's Past Life Aura, the goddess forcefully keep a hold on her connection with her powers, her three familiars falling out of the fight to help her mitigate the damages on herself.
"That foolish, self-sacrificing, girl." Luna sighed, fondness and irritation clear in her voice

Because, of course, the incarnate goddess could have long since finished the fight – if she'd just chosen to strike against Ethan's mortal body, banishing Kronos to the winds.
But it would have killed the kid, and she'd told his mother she'd try to keep him alive.
So instead, she inflicted non-lethal injuries, whittling down the titan's strength little by little until finally, spent, he was sent to the ground.
Kronos was laboriously trying to get back up, but Adra's eyes were glowing, her voice echoing with powers as she called "You have overstepped the boundaries of your covenant."

Golden chains appeared out of nowhere, Ethan Nakamura and Kronos letting an excruciating scream of pain escape their throat, and suddenly, where there had been only one possessed teen, two silhouettes were kneeling on the ground side by side.
A young silhouette stepped in the maelstrom of power, dragging Ethan's unconscious body to the side, and starting to heal him, all the while berating the unconscious teen, while with a final "From Ashes and Dust, back to Void and Abyss.", the incarnate goddess sealed away Kronos' powers.

[Kronos neutralized: +10 000 WP]

Adra let her transformation slip again, and was rather grateful to feel Leifr slip by her side, keeping her upright as cheers started to echo all around. The next moment, another notification appeared, and she smiled – knowing the Titanomachy was over.

[Typhon pushed back: +5000 WP]

In a prodigious swirl of power, all the fighters were suddenly finding their surrounding changed – all of them now in the middle of a gigantic, familiar council chamber, with twelve large thrones.
Zeus, confirming what they now all knew.
"The war is over."

Zeus' affirmation made the cheers redouble, spirits, wixen and half-bloods embracing happily – and among the crowd, there were now numerous Romans demigods…
"This war is over." the king repeated "A war during which, we've all achieved things thought impossible before." Zeus continued, condensing to a more human size, just like his fellow Olympians, yet voice still echoing unnaturally
The king of the god – just like the rest of them – looked weary, wounded, yet exhilarated.

¤.¤.¤

He bowed – not too low, but respectfully still, toward Horus "We made allies from unexpected places." a nod toward the wixen too "Realized we could all work together when needed."
Apollo had made his way to Adra's side, just like Carter had, and she gave them a grateful smile, as she could feel both pouring their powers to heal her.

"Conflict may yet arise again in the following years." Zeus warned "But we've proved today that we can prevail. And we will do so again as many times as needed!" he reaffirmed "We'll prove to those that thought the gods had forgotten the mortals, wrong. We'll prove those who think the age of the gods is gone, wrong. We'll prove those that thought the gods incapable of rising to the challenge of the modern world, wrong." a wide, warm smile "We'll prove that as long as mortals still need us, we gods will still be watching… And that as long as we keep watch, the mortals won't forget us!"

With a wave of warm magic, a feast had appeared around them, and all knew that tonight – for now that Kronos' time-meddling was finally over, the sun was setting after a far too long day – tonight, the feast of the gods would bring no harm to any of the mortals invited at their table.
It was, by far, the least formal feast organized in a very long time on Olympus – which was only natural, as it was the last Olympian's power that had brought it.
And Hestia had always treated everyone equally, and protected all that sought the warmth of her hearth.

Adra couldn't help but smile, as she felt the numerous heart-felt prayers sent her way as all started to pile their plates with food.
"Well." Carter mused, clearly surprised "You're astonishingly well, for someone who used as much power as you did in a mortal body."
"I am." Adra agreed – she felt it too, now that her fiancé and Apollo had finished healing her; knowing that she wouldn't fall in any lengthy coma, though she could still do with a long, restful night

"Your little fiancé is quite the marksman!" Dionysus crowed as he regaled anyone nearby about the last moments of their fight against Typhon – about Poseidon and Hades' arrival, then Pyxis and Carter's "No wonder you're so fond of him!" a wink "But beware, I fear he's caught the eye of a hunter of two!" a loud laugh "Maybe be even the head hunter herself!"
The god of wine easily dodged the silver arrow coming his way, Artemis rolling her eyes "I'm not like you, Dionysus, I can admire someone's skills without wanting to put them in my bed!"
"How sad…"

The party lasted long into the night and into the next day.
Minor gods and spirits had helped the wixen repair the city in ruins – then Camp Half-Blood.
With a few changes…

¤.¤.¤

Luke smiled, as he looked around the Camp.
Twelve cabins were up once more – and behind them, he could see the framework of numerous new ones being built, siblings squabbling over what would best represent their parent, or working side by side with them…
There weren't any restrictions anymore in the camp about talking about the other pantheons, quite the contrary – and they'd even received the help of the Chinese Bureaucracy thanks to Jade's work with his stores. There was also a new, direct entrance toward the wixen district, and already the magical half-bloods were dropping by the Camp they'd never frequented before.

Gods and wixen had agreed on waiting a few days before dropping the spell keeping the civilians no-maj asleep, while they all worked hard at rebuilding the city – by the time said civilians had been awakened, it was nearly as if nothing had happened…
Nearly.
For those in the known, it was easy to see, here and there, some marks that had been kept – to remind them about the battle that had happened.

There was also a new monument, that stood identical in Olympus, New Rome, Camp Half Blood and in the MACUSA building.
A wix, half-blood, spirit and god, standing back to back, all ready to fight.
And a list of names under it – far too many names, of all that had fallen during the fight.

Hades may have promised Elysium for all of them – something everybody appreciated – all still felt keenly the loss of so many friends, family, or even strangers they'd rub shoulders with but for the length of a fight against a common enemy…
After that, the summer settled in a strangely regular rhythm, the half-bloods enjoying the feeling of finally being free of the shadow of war – even if them wouldn't let the skills they'd honed go to waste. After all, even their regular life was one fraught with dangers…

¤.¤.¤

The Potter-Chase-AL Abbas had expected countless things out of their summer – things were never boring, with an extended family like theirs, after all, and they knew well about the Titanomachy that plagued the Greeks and Romans, and about the return of Voldemort on British shores.
They still hadn't expected trouble to come knocking in their very family.

It had started with Randolph Chase calling home one morning – Natalie's brother she hadn't seen, nor talked to, since before Magnus' birth.
He looked tired, and harried, and quite different from his usual calm, Harvard professor aura.
After dithering for a moment, Natalie had let him in.

He'd immediately started to mention his researches – about the city's past.
And their family's.
This was rather usual, but he was looking troubled enough that the demigod's mother let him talk – not really minding that both Magnus and Samirah were eavesdropping behind the nearest door.
Randolph had found something.

But he wasn't happy like she thought he'd be, no.
Because by finding proof of the viking's presence in Massachusetts, centuries before the Spanish discovered the continent – he'd also stumbled on proof of the gods' existence.
Not by meeting a god – but a Jötunn.

A man had offered to sponsor his research, he explained, Logi Mustonen, a wealthy Norwegian Historian who was too old to do his own research anymore. The eldest Chase sibling had been delighted to finally stumble on someone who didn't mock his research in the academic spheres.
And with money to travel, access to archives and all that Logi Mustonen provided, for the first time, he did stumble on something concrete.
Ruins, not too far north of Boston – nearly destroyed by the time and weather, but evidently viking ruins.

He'd published a paper, not that he was surprised Natalie didn't know, and people were mocking him far less about his old obsession now that he'd been proved right. Other people had started to come out of the woods, admitting to believing the same too… The archaeological world had changed, for the better, during the past two years, he explained.
But then – his sponsor had become strange.

¤.¤.¤

The mask of the old, sympathetic professor had slipped little by little. At first, Randolph had though he was paranoid.
But as the man became more and more demanding – obsessed by the search of an old viking expedition, and most of all, of a sword.
Randolph wasn't clear-sighted – but he had good enough survival instincts that, little by little, he managed to see past the simple mask.
Past the glamour.
In the face of a man with skin a black as a polished obsidian, sleeked-back, oily hair and eyes of fire…

"You may think me mad," Randolph admitted, hands trembling '"but I fear the old legends are far more real than we thought." his eyes were both haunted, and pleading as he stared at his sister "I fear that the trickster god is trying to start Ragnarök."
"He isn't." a young voice immediately contradicted "Dad wouldn't do that!"
Randolph's eyes widened, while Magnus, who'd been trying to stop Samirah, raised his eyes to the ceiling, used to the brashness, and strong-headed ways of his sister, who clearly hadn't inherited her father's cunning…

"Leifr wouldn't do that." he felt compelled to agree "But what you've described…" he frowned "That's not him, that's the lord of fire."
"So the sword…" Natalie mused
"Sumarbrander." Randolph whispered, face pale as he realized that things weren't about just as bad as he'd feared "The sharpest sword in the nine Realms, with which he's fated to kill the god of summer."
"Well, it's a good thing all the old prophecies are now moot." Natalie said firmly, before adding "Even if apparently, it may not have appeased the giant's ambitions."
"Prophecy or not, there's no way we're letting him kill my father!" Magnus added just as firmly "We can't let him get the sword!"

"On this, I completely agree."
A new man had appeared in the room – wearing an open robe on a a jean and polo, and an eye patch, the grey-haired man hadn't been too hard to recognize even if none had seen him before.
"You're Mister Borson?" Magnus asked first with a smile "Well met."
"Well met indeed." the god posing as a mortal agreed "Thought I wish it were under better circumstances."

¤.¤.¤

Soon, he was seating in the living room too – Magnus and Samirah had stayed, not even pretending anymore they hadn't eavesdropped, and while Ayesha was at work, Hardwin had left his potion lab to take part in the discussion too.
"Heimdall has noticed some movement recently." he explained "Apparently, the fire realm is preparing for war." a sigh "Then I heard from Mimir, who told me the giant couldn't get the sword himself… only a descendant of its last owner could find it."
Quick glances were shared around the room.

"The Chase?" Randolph asked in a half-stunned, half-disbelieving whisper
"The Chase." Odin agreed "Of course, in the hands of a mortal, the sword wouldn't do any good, and they wouldn't be able to prevent the fire lord from stealing it."
"But thanks to the hiding charm, he doesn't know about me." Magnus realized
"Indeed." the king of the Norse god inclined his head in agreement "I'd hoped to point you in that direction once you were a bit older…" he explained, sending an apologizing glance at Natalie

"But now that the fire lord has made his first move, we can't way any longer." she realized by herself
She didn't like the idea of putting her child – her ten years old child – at risk, but if there was one thing she'd learned over the years, it was that destiny didn't wait for people to be ready.
It just came when it came.

The problem was – now that Randolph had dropped by, they had potentially caught Surtr's attention, so they had to proceed slowly. In the following days, the eldest Chase was a regular visitor, with his family in tow.
Neither his wife nor his two young daughters knew what was going on – though it was clear the wife was rather cunning, and had a natural dislike for Logi Mustonen.
Randolph pretended to continue to look for the sword at home – but it was in the Potter house, protected by her wards, that he did the real work. Finally, a few weeks into July, the old professor was pretty sure he'd found it – in the very heart of the city.
That was when Samirah had all but told Odin to make her a Valkyrie.

The god had been rather amused at her brashness – but also the unmistakable courage of demanding anything of a god – and impressed about her reasons.
She wasn't wrong after all – they were going to need all the advantages they could, and a Valkyrie was even faster and stronger than a regular demigod. And since Magnus was rather naturally disqualified, since he was a boy, not to mention that he'd quite strongly inherited from his father, and was more of a healer than a fighter – so his sister would be the one to take arms.
Of course, the god warned her – that granting her the status, meant that she'd also have to do the job of a Valkyrie. Samirah had agreed easily, knowing that nothing was free in life – and pointing out that there were worse jobs than helping the souls of the braves to Hotel Valhalla.

He'd also warned her – that though things her changing, there was still quite a bit of prejudice against Loki and his children, as immortals had a long memory, and could hold to their grudge a long time. That hadn't afraid the girl either, who pointed out that coming from a Muslim family, and with three parents as she had, she was more than used to prejudice.
The god had eventually relented – not without making her promise she would be the one to explain it to her father. He just knew the other god was going to be unbearable about it, as Loki had always rather overprotective of his children – not that Odin didn't understand why, given what he'd himself inflicted on some of them…

¤.¤.¤

Natalie had been fretting, when she realized that not only would Samirah and Magnus head out to look for Sumarbrander – but Randolph and his family were also going to be out, taking the man's sailing boat to the bay for both some family time, and in order to divert any attention from the two half-bloods if needed.
The weather was fair, the wind not too strong – and Randolph had owned said ship for decades – there really weren't any reason to fear anything, yet somehow, she couldn't help but have a bad feeling.
Which is why she managed to convince Ayesha to ask Loki to stop by.

Hours later, Magnus came home – alone, drenched and covered in mud, and looking bone weary; the exhausted, rather mature expression rather starling on his young face.
There was also a new necklace around his neck, a simple, smooth stone engraved with a rune which his mother easily guessed must be the prize of his quest.
"He was near Longfellow's bridge, just like uncle said." Magnus said tiredly, falling on the sofa without seemingly realizing he was putting mud everywhere

(begin flashback)
They'd gone by bus, then walked from Charles Street to the river bank.
Both had been rather thankful to be able to manipulate the Glamour around them – something Norse half-blood rarely knew to do, but between the numerous Greeks and Romans they knew, and Leifr's own lessons, learning had been a must.
So, they drew the veil of illusion that prevented the mortals to see anything amiss around them, calling their fighting outfit via Chaos' Wardrobe System, and drew out the wings they'd both unlocked not too long after being granted Chaos Game, on Annabeth's advice – the Greek demigoddess still had nightmare about the pit she'd encountered during her first, albeit accidental, quest.

Samirah's wings were pure white, with a few fiery primary feathers lining the outer side of them. She'd also grown exponentially better at flying since Odin had made her a Valkyrie a few days ago. Magnus wasn't quite as comfortable in the air, but it would be the easiest way to scout the area without taking a dip in the river.
It had taken some time, but finally, Magnus had felt something, in the depths of the river, that echoed with his own powers – or rather, those of his father.

He'd tried to call it to him, but clearly, it was stuck underwater… So, he had taken a dip in the Charles River. Calling the sun to shine brightly enough to break through the water surface, and let him see through the murky water had been a matter of concentration, but a rather usual and mundane use of his powers for the young half-blood…
He'd been rather surprised when he'd realized that the thing calling to his powers was some sort of rusty crowbar, with some shells and weeds growing on it, but knew that appearances could be deceiving, so set to free the bar from it's sediment prison, while Samirah waited for him, hoovering just above the water.
This was when a herd of vatnavaettir had decided to come and poke around…
The water spirit had charged him, and in his hurry, somehow, the rusty crowbar finally came free from the riverbed.

With a call of Algiz, a shield was raised around him. He concentrated, trying to calm the monsters down – but there were far too many creatures for it to work. He managed to calm but one of them, and climbing on the water-horse's back, prepared himself to fight the rest of them, that were already surrounding him.
Magnus didn't like fighting, but he still knew how – and with Samirah helping, the battle shouldn't be too hard.

¤.¤.¤

Of course, his sister chose this moment to frantically call him, explaining that she'd felt a new soul she had to ferry. The daughter of Loki was nearly frantic, making him worry – it was rather evident this was a soul she knew personally after all, and they knew more or less all the same people…
Still, it meant the following battle was far less easy than he'd counted on. Hanging the rusty bar to his belt, Magnus took his sword from his Inventory, and started fighting.
Underwater fighting wasn't his specialty, far from it, he quite preferred to be above the water than under, so little by little, he retreated toward the river banks, until finally, he was on dry ground. He hoped down from the vatnavaettir he'd tamed, thanking him for his help before letting him leave, before turning his attention back to his more hostile compatriots.

By the time he'd all but whittled down the herd, Magnus had caught the attention of something far more dangerous.
A giant, fiery sword, cut the last water horse in halves, making Magnus glad he'd let his mount leave – and the demigod himself escaped the same fate by barely managing to dodge the large weapon.

Wielding the weapon, was what appeared to be a man, skin as black as pure coffee, hairs braided and tied in his back, and eyes glinting a fiery orange. He was wearing some military-patterned cargo pants and a t-shirt, and wielding with preternatural ease a sword nearly as long as him.
Another hint that he wasn't quite human – was the wave of heat and fire all around him, burning the plants of the park, and probably quite dangerous for his opponent too…

Luckily for Magnus – and unluckily for the fire Jötunn opposing him – as a son of Frey, the half-blood had inherited a rather incredible resilience to both cold and heat.
So instead of dodging farther away from him, like the giant had expected – Magnus had dodged toward him.

And promptly shattered his bone metal sword against the other's t-shirt which, clearly, wasn't quite a regular t-shirt – now that he was closer, he did realize the material clearly wasn't cotton, but something evidently more metallic.
The demigod cursed – without a weapon, the fight was going to be far more complicated.

¤.¤.¤

Then, something hummed in the back of his mind – his hands went to his belt – and came back with a sword.
A seventy centimeters long, double-edged sword, with a leather-wrapped grip and a heavy polished round steel-pommel. And down the center of the blade, a wide grove, emblazoned with runes, shimmering silver and echoing with power.

He glanced at the weapon, who seemed to be humming in anticipation, and mused "Well, let's what you're capable of."
The weapon nearly slipped out of his hands, Magnus quickly realizing with wide hands that clearly – he may know how to fight, but Sumarbrander was an expert, and self-aware enough to guide his very movements!
The fight, which should have been far harder, was quickly dealt with, even if the half-blood did earn a particularly nasty gash on his left thigh…

It was as he went to put the sword back in its scabbard that things became even stranger.
"I wouldn't do that just yet, señor!"
So…
Apparently, the sword talked.
It was even quite talkative, which may be explained by the fact it had spent more or less a thousand years alone stuck in the water – and promptly informed Magnus that when he put it away, he'd become quite a bit more tired, as the sword has supplemented his 'barely tolerable' with its own know-how, and that he would be paying the price in physical fatigue.
Thankfully, the vatnavaettir he'd freed earlier had apparently stayed in the area – so Magnus had been able to put the sword away, who rather conveniently turned into a smooth rune-stone on a golden-chain – and hitched a ride back home…
(flashback ends)

¤.¤.¤

Natalie had managed to shepherd her son toward the shower, cleaning the sofa while he was doing so, happy her son was back home – but still worrying about her daughter, not to mention her brother and his family.
A couple of hours had gone my, Magnus finding the energy to heal himself now that he was feeling a bit cleaner – and quickly collapsing back on the sofa, where he spent the newt hour talking to Sumarbrander 'call me Jack!' while waiting.

The next few hours, and days, were hectic.
Loki had arrived home before Samirah, with little Emma and Aubrey, each in the arms of a woman with golden skin, similar ruby red eyes, wearing what were clearly ancient Egyptian clothes… Nekhbet and Wadjet were sister goddess, and had apparently vowed to protect the girls. Girls who were now orphaned, as apparently, Natalie's bad feeling had been right, and the Chase family had been attacked when they were sailing.

Randolph had given up his place in Valhalla by calling for help – any help – and managing to invoke the two Egyptian goddesses; while Caroline had died fighting to protect her daughters, and was now on her way to Valhalla, thanks to Samirah.
They hadn't seen Samirah until deep in the night, as she had to help the newest einherjar settle in her after-life. Meanwhile, they'd opened a new aisle of the Potter mansion for the two goddesses and their charges, and within a few days, each a drunk a blood adoption potion from the deceased parents of Emma and Aubrey, gaining a mortal body, and becoming Sasha and Kendra Chase, the new legal guardians of the girls in the mundane world.

Having two goddesses become part of the family had been quite strange – add to this the fact that they were rather unfamiliar with the modern world, and it was the perfect recipe for catastrophe.
Thankfully, seeing how quickly the situation could degenerate, Loki had sent the best possible help: his own wife.

Sigyn was kind, and motherly, which made her a much-needed presence in the household that was still mourning, she also knew how to relate to the goddesses who were so lost with the current world, and how to help them adapt, which honestly took surprisingly little time – they were goddesses after all.

It was as things were starting to settle down that they heard about the events of New York – and the end of the Titans War.

After that, things had settled in a more usual summer rhythm, with long treks in the forest, and portkey travel to meet up with the clan, and so on. Still – a hint of worry remained because obviously, the Greek baddies weren't the only one stirring trouble, if Surtr and Hrym were moving so openly in Midgard, and somehow, Magnus and Samirah just knew they and their family were going to be right in the middle of it all.
