AN: This is a mixture of a number of fairy tales.

Context: This is a song; I guess you could call it a lullaby. Child of Light refers to a young woman singing the left hand side. She has just defeated the evil overlord of her kingdom. Child of Darkness refers to the evil overlord, he cannot be killed; instead he has gone into hiding in the shadows. He needs to recuperate and so won't be coming back any time soon, probably hundreds of years. To keep him from awakening, each new Princess of the Blood has to sing this song to which he replies to, where ever he is. No one but the two participants and old Princesses can hear the other singing.

Think Phantom of the Opera ish for the music.

Alternate voices a woman then a man, it makes more sense that way.

Child of Darkness I know thee

You shall not rule my mind

Back into darkness I banish thee

Who next wilt thy find?

Child of Light I know thee

You will not rule for long

Keep close those who love thee

Lest they wander to my song

Hatred shall sustain thee

Anger and misery combine

Hunger and famine call thee

Let these never enter what's mine

Love and Happiness follow thee

Friendship shall be thy rock

Unstable I will make thee

Destroyed I will mock

Give me strength to withstand thee

Treachery is where you are found

Deep into lies should thee

Destroy my every sound

Truth will not harm thee

Thy own lies will maim

I will wait patiently

For a mistake of the same

Sleep Child of Darkness Sleep

Deep in slumber may I find thee

May no one help thee awake

Never know my world which calls thee

Let not my hope be fake

Sleep Child of Darkness Sleep

Sleep Child of Light Sleep

Never to return my love of thee

Keep watch always

I will return to thee

And this time I will stay

Sleep Child of Light Sleep

AN: If anyone has any suggestions, I do realise that's some of the rhymes are quite bad.

(Just so you know) I wrote the song in school when I was supposed to be doing other work. Unfortunately I haven't got round to writing the story yet, but it will be written, eventually.
