Chapter 25: Annetasmic!
Later that evening, the Boonchuys and the Plantars were standing at Blue Bayou section at New Orleans Square. They've been going on and on as the whole family are park hopping at the same time. Now Sprig, Polly, and Hop Pop were all sitting on the rail fence curious about that evening when staring at Tom Sawyer Island. Bee is holding his video camera to record the whole show when it starts.
"So, what are we watching again?" Hop Pop asked.
"I told you, we're watching Fantasmic!, a nighttime spectacular where it talks about Mickey having a dream to use his imagination and battle against the Forces of Evil." Anne explained.
"Like Maleficent?" Sprig asked.
"Yep, forgot to mentioned that she can transform herself into a fire breathing dragon." replied Anne.
"Wicked!"
"Yeah, as long as we don't want to mess with her if she's here."
"Well, it's a really good thing that she's not here." Polly remarks.
"So, what time the shows starts?" Hop Pop asked.
"Just right about now." Anne answered.
All of sudden, they heard a female voice narrator when the show starts when the crowds cheers a bit.
"Welcome to Fantasmic! Tonight, our friend and host Mickey Mouse uses his vivid imagination to create magical imagery for all to enjoy. Nothing is more wonderful than the imagination, for, in a moment, you can experience a beautiful fantasy or an exciting adventure. But beware, nothing is more powerful than the imagination, for it can also expand your greatest fears into an overwhelming nightmare. Are the powers of Mickey's imagination strong enough, and bright enough, to withstand the evil forces that invade Mickey's dreams? You are about to find out. For we now invite you to join Mickey, and experience Fantasmic!... a journey beyond your wildest imagination."
The music slowly starts when all of surrounding lights on every seating area slowly turns off fading. The Plantars were curious about the show. Once the music raised up high slowly when all of sudden, there were some sparkles from the mapping projection all over the island. Sprig pulled out his phone to take some pictures.
"Anne, what's happening?" Sprig curious.
"Look." replied Anne, pulled out her phone as well.
By then when the climax hits, Mickey shows up in the spotlight wearing tuxedo, but as a park mascot. The entire crowd cheers with Mickey on stage.
"Haha!"
Imagination. (Imagination).
Once the stage lights comes out from beneath the stage shines all over the section of New Orleans Square as the Plantars amazed at the show. The mascot Mickey performs on stage as he walk to the center.
Dream a fantastic dream!
The lights switch to Mickey.
Use your imagination!
The music of its new version begins when Mickey performs as two pyro comes out. Then he summons the fountain by the time when Fantasmic! theme starts discovering the water and light effects while he tests them out. Sprig, Polly, and Hop Pop were amazed at the performance.
"What's he doing?" Sprig asked.
"He's performing magic." Anne answered.
"Wow."
He then proceeds to direct the effects like a conductor while he playfully laughs until he summons a huge fountain.
"Whoa!"
Mickey resume conducting when more fountain is on. Sprig took a picture on his new phone while Anne took hers. Hop Pop's eyes were sparkling, admiring the show.
"It's beautiful." Hop Pop whispered.
Then a pyro goes off when Mickey laughs and then walks off taking steps and stood in front of the tavern spread his arms to shoots pyrotechnics from his index fingertips making the audience amazed. Even the Plantars were fully surprised.
"Whoa!" Sprig surprised.
"How does he do that?!" Hop Pop exclaimed.
The show's signature water projection screens are eventually activated, onto which animation from "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" sequence from Fantasia where the lights on stage turns off showing Mickey wearing a sorcerer robe on conducting water with a splash and then the screen switch to mapping projection on the island where it shows Magic Brooms carrying bucket of water and then makes a splash.
Musical scores from "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" and the "Imagination" theme accompany the animation as Mickey conducts animated shooting stars pyrotechnics launched from the six pyrotechnic barges on the river. The Plantars were amazed for a moment.
"Ooh!"
Projections change to flowers as music changes back to main theme.

Mysteries and magic,
Visions fantastic,
Leading to strange and wondrous dreams.
Then the large flower petal dances onstage. Sprig eyes were sparkling. Hop Pop has never seen that kind of flower before. Polly smiles at the huge flower.
"And I thought Chuck loves tulips." Anne smirked.
"Now you'll telling me." replied Sprig.
The animation then blends with live performers interpreting different flowers. The petals then become huge green leaves and combine with onscreen animation to become flora and fauna of the jungle. The projections then show Sorcerer Mickey walking into the sun.

The lighting and music change to a jungle beat when Kaa as a huge puppet appears onstage makes his way across the island with hypnotic beams of light firing from his eyes. Once the light shines on Polly when blinded by accident.
"AH! MY EYES!" Polly yells.
Then there are three floating barges carrying King Louie and black-lit monkeys (from the Tokyo version) across the river, dancing along to the beat. Anne moves her head when she pumps up the beat listening to three different music. By then with images of pink elephants playing the tune to Hakuna Matata as Timon, Pumbaa, and a growing-up Simba walk across a log like in the song, followed by more pink elephants on mapping projection.
The music segues to a contemporary rendition of "Pink Elephants on Parade" with a mix of dubstep as more pink elephants appear onscreen and in the form of performers on the island. The Plantars were confused about the pink elephants.
"Why are elephants pink?" Hop Pop asked.
"Because they're Pink Elephants and it's part of Dumbo's dream." Anne answered.
"I am so confused." said Sprig.
"I don't know what it is, but it looks funny." Polly added when playfully kicking up her legs.
The elephants continue to dance until Mickey discovers a magical lamp. He rubs it, causing Genie to be freed via onscreen animation while mascot Mickey in sorcerer is onstage.
"Whoa! It is so good to be outta there! Nice to be back, ladies and gentlemen. Hi. Where you from? What's your name?"
"Um... well... uh..."
"I don't think you quite realize what you got here."
Genie: Can your friends do this?
Can your friends do that?
Can your friends pull this out their little hat?
Can your friends go, poof?
Hey, looky here. Ha ha!
Can your friends go, Abracadabra, let 'er rip
And then make the sucker disappear?
Some of the transformations include turning into Donald Duck and Goofy, as well as turning Mickey into Pinocchio complete with dancers that look like Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck making Anne giggles while Sprig was confused.
"What the heck?" said Sprig.
Genie: I'm on the job, you big nabob
You ain't never had a friend like me
Genie then disappears causing Sorcerer Mickey to go underwater and finds the kingdom of Atlantica. Then it shows Ariel swimming around on the projections and then it shows Mr. Ray takes Nemo, Dory, and the rest of their classmates on a trip to see the stingray migration.
"Whoa! What is that?" Sprig asked.
"It's a stingray migration. I went on the field trip to the aquarium with my friends." Anne answered.
"It sure looks pretty." said Hop Pop.
"Does it sting?" Polly asked.
"Yeah, pretty much. Maybe?" replied Anne.
Then it shows Pinocchio onscreen projection where he dives underwater while Jiminy Cricket hollers.
"Pinocchio! We're down here!"
Jiminy Cricket appears onscreen in a bubble and uses his umbrella to rescue his hat from an adjacent bubble.
"Wha? Ho, there!" His bubble fills with water and pops. He notices fish swimming away. "Huh?"
Just then when Monstro the whale appears on screen and scares away all the fish. The Plantars were stunned.
"What in the frog?!" Hop Pop exclaimed.
"What is that thing?!" Polly shocked.
"That's Monstro, the whale." Anne answered.
"I thought whales are friendly!" Sprig confused.
"Well, for that one, he's a really bad whale."
"It all make sense." said Hop Pop.
Music turns threatening as Monstro creates splashes until Mickey appears on screen in the vortex of water created when things gone wrong.
"Help! Whooooaaaa!" Mickey is swallowed up by darkness into the whirlpool until it shrunk small and only his eyes are visible on screen. "Uh, hey... what's going on? Uh-oh!"
The music swells with thunder and lightning on a sailing boat onscreen making the Plantars jump scares. And then the lighting strikes showing none other than Captain Barbossa on screen.
"So tell me, what's become of my ship?"
And then his skins turns into skeleton. Sprig, Polly, and Hop Pop were shocked.
"You best start believe in ghost story Miss Turner. You're in one."
By then, the cannon goes off with a bang startling at the crowds. They turn their heads at Sailing Ship Columbia decorated as the Black Pearl where it shows Jack Sparrow standing on the scaffolding while Elizabeth Swan was with skeleton pirates.
"Ahoy mates! We're on our way."
"Rough seas ahead, Jack."
"That's 'Captain Jack Sparrow'. Need a rescue?"
"No! Do you? Hmph!" Most pirates throws Elizabeth up in the air, but she was calm rather than panicked or freaked out. "How dare you? Even dogs have better manners."
While they were performed, the Plantars were amazed at the Columbia.
"Cool!" said Polly.
"Ah, my compass. My love. Show me my lust desired." But then when a skeleton pirate slide down making Jack drop the compass. "AH! No! Look what you drop! My compass!"
"It's mine now!"
"Wait, do not loose that. Be right back."
"You vile creatures!"
"Blast! Wrong direction."
While they performed when the cannon fires twice, it shows two pirate ships sailing on the whirlpool on mapping projection.
"Look that way boys! Rum!" Elizabeth jumps off swinging around the ship and lands on deck.
Both Jack and skeleton Barbossa steady carefully as they balanced on the rope and does sword fighting until the performer as Jack pretends to stab Barbossa making like its real.
"This on as it always, you're dead."
"Uh, he's already dead." said Polly.
"Out of my way! This is madness!" Elizabeth is running to the very front of the ship. "Jack?"
"Busy!"
"You devil! I'll make you regret that!" Elizabeth goes up to the scaffolding leaving pirate crew behind.
"Everyone, stay calm."
"You can't be serious?"
"Pardon me, miss?"
"What?"
"Still need a rescue?"
"Not from you, I don't!"
"My mistake."
While Elizabeth walks carefully on the rope meeting up with Jack, the Plantars were confused at first.
"It doesn't make sense. I mean why the rescue?" Hop Pop confused.
"You have something I want." Jack notice the compass instead of Elizabeth.
"Ha! Don't be bold."
"No, no. My compass."
"It's that what you want? Fine! Take it!"
Elizabeth toss the compass to Jack, but it bounce off when it fell, but a skeleton pirate caught in his hand while another skeleton pirate falls off yelling tangled on the rope by his foot.
"My compass!" Jack slides down to get the compass back.
"Why would he want the compass?" Sprig asked curiously.
"I'll show you later when we get back home." Anne answered.
Then the big banner scrolls open showing like a wanted poster says "WANTED! Dead or Alive! Jack Sparrow, the Notorious Pirate. $1000" During the climax when fountains makes splash, Elizabeth slides down on the rope while Jack repeatedly swings around back and forth around the ship to get the compass back. By then when Jack swipe the compass from a pirate, Elizabeth climbs on the rope when trapped by skeleton pirates.
"Do you always make me a woman leave?! Off with you, not me?!"
"I used it all the time in always surprised. Pirate."
"Jack!"
Jack jumps off the ship to the water making people believe he did jump, but in secret he covered himself wrapping rag around him. The projection screen is on showing Jack Sparrow from the footage.
"This is the day you will always remember as the day you almost caught Captain-"
"JACK!" Elizabeth yells when the light turns off while skeleton onscreen yelling.
"Sparrow."
The cannon goes boom from one of the pyro barge making everyone cheers. Then the music went calm when is shows Mickey's hand starts to paint showing his magic as black switch to blue with stars.

Happily ever after!
The projections then transform into Agrabah, where Aladdin and Jasmine are on the stage as if they're flying on the Magic Carpet. Sprig, Polly, and Hop Pop were confused once again.
"Are they flying?" Sprig asked.
"Kind of, but it's all part of the show." replied Anne.
"It doesn't make sense to me."
"I thought magic carpet can fly?" Polly confused.
"It can. Did you know the show runs the original version from 1992?"
"Not that I heard of." replied Sprig.
"By 2016, they ended the original version as they turn into a revamped version while they're constructing Galaxy's Edge by the time the show returns in 2017.
"It all make sense now." said Sprig.
"How often do you know about the show?" Hop Pop asked.
"I was there with my parents when I was five years old." Anne answered.
"I see."

Then the three barges reenters, but with three princesses and their prince when music change. The first barge appears, carrying Belle and the Beast as they dance together.

Unexpectedly.

Rising in the east.
Tale as old as time,
Song as old as rhyme,
Male and Female Soloists: Beauty and the Beast.
Their first barge begins to exit, as the second barge carrying Ariel and Eric comes next.

Male Soloists: Dream a fantastic dream!
Female Soloists: Betcha on land,

Their second barge starts to exit. And now the third barge comes center, carrying Rapunzel and Eugene as they dance together while floating lanterns were spreading on mapping projection.
Female Soloists: And at last I see the light
And it's like the fog has lifted
And at last I see the light
And it's like the sky is new
Male and Female Soloists: And it's warm and real and bright
And the world has somehow shifted
Female Soloists: All at once everything looks different
Now that I see you
Oum warmly hugs her husband while Bee still recording his camera. The Plantars smiles warmly at the moment. Anne grows softly at the princesses when taking picture on her phone. She wish she could tell how she feels.
Male and Female Soloists: Now that I see you

Male Soloists: Song as old as rhyme…
By then when the music turns darker when Mickey appears onstage while the projection screen is on showing the Magic Mirror.
"Great fame may be yours, young sorcerer, but hold... another realm I see. Where power is untold far greater than yours... may awaken. But beware, only the bravest may uncover mystery. Does thou end your courage?"
"Well, I don't know about this." Mickey is skeptical at first.
"Dare you look deeper?"
"Well, sure!"
"Then..."
"Uh oh!"
"Behold!"
The pyro goes off around him when Mickey was trapped inside the mirror on the projection screen. The Plantars were shocked.
"Whoa! Look out!"
Mickey notice when he was spin force pulled like a whirlpool shouting. And then when the climax hits, the Old Hag appears on stage cackling.
"Now, I'll turn that little mouse's dream into a nightmare Fantasmic! Imagine this!" The Witch cackles while shadow demons appeared on mapping projection. "Magic Mirror on the wall, all the forces of evil I call."
"You have the power..."
"To control his mind." The Witch cackles before transform into the sea witch.
"Oh, yes. How exciting. Let's do it!"
The sea witch cackles as the music goes darker. The Plantars were frighten for her appearance.
"Who's that?" said Polly shaking.
"Ursula." Anne answered, but lowered her voice.
"Hello! I admit that in the past, I've been a nasty. They weren't kidding when they called me, well, a "witch." Ursula will take matters into her own tentacles. Ha! Mickey Mouse's mind... will be mine! And then I'll make him writhe… I'll see him wriggle like a worm on a hook! Why not? Let's do it!"
Then Ursula transform as her switch into yellow that belongs to a demon while Mickey in silhouette just ran off frightfully. Then a huge demon spread his wing on top of the mountain raises his arms to summon ghouls and demons. The Plantars were scared for a moment.
"Anne? What it that thing?" scared Sprig.
"Chernabog, the demon of Bald Mountain." Anne answered.
"You gotta show us some movies about cartoons." said Hop Pop.
During the music sequence for "The Night On Bald Mountain" where ghost and ghouls were spreading everywhere. This scene scares Sprig when he jumps onto Anne clinging while Polly hides herself in the bush. Anne knew that this scene was too scary for young frogs.
"Don't worry Sprig, none of this is real." said Anne softly.
Once the climax was finished, Chernabog release the fire when it shows Mickey just stop running jumps off the mirror just in time, but when the mirror shatters, pyrotechnic burst of flames heralds the arrival of Maleficent while Mickey reappears onstage. The Plantars were shocked.
"Now, you will deal with me and all the powers of MY IMAGINATION!" Maleficent shouted.
"Oh no!" Mickey yells.
Maleficent swing her staff to silence Mickey with a red pyro on stage jumped scare at him. Maleficent cast a spell when rises 30 feet from the stage into the air cackling maniacally and transforms into a dragon onscreen. The Plantars were shocked at the dragons appearance. The animation gives way to a 45-foot animatronic dragon, who rises from the stage.
"That's the dragon?!" Sprig shocked.
"Yep, that's the dragon alright." Anne answered when she smirked.
"You gotta show us some movies!" Polly yells.
On the projection screen, the dragon transform into the Old Hag cackles.
"Imagination!" cackled the Witch.
One by one, the screen switch to Ursula's cackling and then Chernabog raise his arms in the air as he growls loudly before the projection screen was off. Then Maleficent starts laughing evilly with echo spreads all over the surrounding sounds. The Plantars were frightenedly scared when it's too creepy.
"That laugh! It's everywhere!" Sprig frantic.
"Where is this keep coming from!" Polly frantic.
Once Maleficent stops laughing and then she breathes fire, which spreads to the water making the audience shock and awe.
"WHOA!" The Plantars shocks.
They were mixed with shock and amazed when fire spread onto the river. Sprig took a picture on his so that he could remember for this moment. By then when mascot Mickey steps up on the stone thinking of way to use his magic to defeat the dragon when looking down at him.
"Uh, you may think you're so powerful. (laughs feebly.) Well, uh... this is my dream!"
Mickey uses his mind using his sorcerer powers to summon water fountains to put out the fire and then raise his arms at the dragon when pyro goes off from his fingers making like an electricity. As the dragon screams in agony with lighting all over her before breathes fire up in the air, the villains who have appeared are also destroyed onscreen resulting in Chernabog vanishing away, Ursula screams in agony as she is struck by bolts of lightning, destroying her too, The hag transforms back into the Evil Queen screaming, causing her to also be destroyed and Maleficent falls to her demise causing her to be destroyed lastly when screaming, and the sequence ends with a green pyrotechnic burst from the river.
"WHOA!" The Plantars surprised.
"Are they dead?" Polly asked.
"For this show? Yes, but here? No." Anne answered.
"Dang it." Polly muttered.
All is quiet until Tinker Bell fly on screen to restore the magic as sparkles spreads all over the island while Mark Twain appears when enter with some pyro sparkling the river.
"Wow! It's beautiful." said Sprig with his eyes sparkles.
"Yeah dude, it's pretty is beautiful." said Anne.
Until when the music starts with its theme, the pyro goes flash when Mickey appears on the boat dressing up as "Steamboat Willie" and most beloved characters appears in each row from top to bottom dance on the ship in a ribbon routine. Everyone cheers for their incredible performance.
"WOO!" Anne cheered.
"Whoa! Look at all of these characters!" Sprig amazed.
"And he pilots the boat, like me!" Hop Pop recalls, but smiles.

Dreams are make believe,

The characters perform on Mark Twain including princesses and their princes, Minnie, Pluto, Donald, Goofy, Chip 'N' Dale, Alice In Wonderland, and Toy Story. They waved at the audience from the riverboat once they passed by. The sequence is accompanied by searchlights, fountains, and pyrotechnic effects.
Aaah, aaah, aaah,
In your imagination!
Aaah, aaah, aaah,
In your imagination!
Here in your mind,
It's magic you'll find.
When out of the night,
Dark forces ignite
To blind you with frightening speed,
You use your might
To brighten the light,
Creating a night of wondrous deeds!
Once Mark Twain has exit the scene, Mickey magically appears on top of the tavern wearing his Sorcerer outfit making the whole crowds cheering. Anne and the Plantars were clapping their hands at Mickey.
"Seriously?! How does he do that?!" Polly surprised.
"Magic!" Anne answered cheerfully.
Mickey "conducts" laser beams, fireworks, and lighting effects that span the length of the river stage.
"I LOVE THIS SHOW!" Hop Pop yells with glee.
Once Mickey finish his conduct for his final trick, in a flash, he disappears from atop the tavern, and re-appears center stage, resuming his tuxedo looking at the audience.
"Some imagination, huh? Haha!"
Mickey disappears in a flash. A final burst of pyrotechnics is accompanied by searchlights placed around the tavern and stage. As a finale, a brilliant green flash of pyrotechnics ignites on the water where the river once again becomes quiet and dark. The entire crowds were cheering by the time the lights were turned back on. The Boonchuys and the Plantars cheered.
"WOO! THAT WAS AWESOME!" Sprig cheers.
"AGAIN! AGAIN!" Polly cheers.
"I told you guys enjoyed it. Wanna go watch the firework show?" said Anne smiling.
"Wow! Two shows in one night! I'm in!" said Sprig.
"Wait, two shows?!" Hop Pop surprised.
"Yep! We can watch in front of the castle." replied Anne.
"Honey, you're all set?" Oum asked her husband.
"All set. I just it recorded on time." Bee answered.
"Alright then, let's get a move on."
"YEAH!" Anne and the Plantars cheers when leaving the area.
Few seconds later by the time the show starts, The Boonchuys and the Plantars are watching the fireworks in front of the Sleeping Beauty Castle along with the crowds. Mickey and his friends were there standing next to each family along with the Flynn-Fletchers, Isabella, and the Fireside Girls. Even Baljeet and Buford were there. Timon and Pumbaa stood by the frogs, smiling at the fireworks.
"So, Sprig, having a good time here for your birthday?" Mickey asked kindly.
"Are you kidding? It was great! That was a best birthday gift ever!" Sprig answered smiling.
"First and small question. Were you in the show or it was just a mascot?" Polly asked curious.
"Well, as much I love to tell you, but it's our little secret. We don't wanna spoil the magic." Mickey answered.
"Okay, just asking. We should come back here more often."
"We would love to, but we still need to head back to Amphibia." said Hop Pop.
"You're probably right."
"Don't worry Polly, we'll come back and visit soon."
"(sigh) I wish Marcy and Sasha were here. It brings back memories where we used to hangout together back when we were kids." said Anne softly.
"Do you still forgive them?" Hop Pop asked kindly.
"I might, but that doesn't mean that I'm still mad at them. I just wish if I could get them back. I will never forget the day where we used to visit here."

Both Marcy and Eddie are holding their green lightsabers. Oum records the show while Bee takes picture.)

(They were riding on the Jungle Cruise where it shows animatronic elephants taking bathes. The girl were pointing their fingers at the elephants while Beey took pictures.)

(Later on, they climb aboard on Mark Twain where they stand on top of the front row as the boat flowing in the Rivers of America. The girls point their fingers for sightseeing.)

(They went on Splash Mountain as the girls scream with glee while Eddie is holding on to his sister on his lap when they took the final drop. And then they looked at the photos of themselves with Anne's parents as the kids laugh together.)

(In Mickey's Toontown, Anne runs towards mascot Mickey and Minnie as the girl gave Mickey a big warm hug while Sasha and Marcy approach giving Minnie a hug. Her parents smiles very warmly at the moment.)

(Later that evening, they were watching the fireworks in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle. Anne is sitting on her father's shoulder while Marcy and Eddie hold hands. Oum softly laid her hands on Sasha's shoulder. Anne hugs her father's head warmly.)

Back in present day where Anne looks at her photo of herself and her closest friends on her phone and sighed sadly. Mickey, Minnie, and the Plantars felt softly empathy at her.
"Anne, I know how much you miss them. We'll get your friends back." said Sprig when holding Anne's hand.
She looked down at her best friend warmly.
"Thanks guys."
"Don't worry, we'll find a way to get them back. Have faith in me." said Mickey softly.
Then all of sudden, they turn their heads back at the fireworks for grand finale. Everyone cheers except Anne and her friends.
"Happy Birthday, Sprig." said Anne.
"Thanks, Anne." replied Sprig.
Meanwhile at the apartment in L.A., we look inside to room where it shows a photo of Marcy and her older brother when they grow up together. Then it shows a bulletin board that has many evidence and clues including the photos of Marcy and her friends. Once the final piece of the photo of the music box was setup, it shows Eddie that he is now 17 years old that wears his black t-shirt, light blue jeans, and green shoes.
It has been five months since he has last seen his sister after school. He heard what happen from that day when Marcy ran away from home by the time he got back. He had an argue with his parents for planning to move out of the state and partially blamed his dad for all this when he got a new job, but deep down he truly loved his parents.
He sighed sadly as he stares at the bulletin board. He sat down at his desk and pulled out his phone to look up at his photos of himself and Marcy posing with peace sign sticking out their tongue. He could never forget that day when her sister is missing along with her friends.
"Marcy, please be okay."
