Chapter 26: Mickey's One Man Show
Two days later, Mickey and Minnie are at the park in Toontown, sitting on the bench when he plays his ukulele to his girlfriend. Minnie smiles warmly at Mickey when he plays the music of "Minnie's Yoo Hoo" as she remembers the day that she will never forget.
"Oh, Mickey. You're so very sweet." said Minnie.
"Aw, thanks Minnie. I would never trade a girl for the world." replied Mickey.
"Oh, you gentleman." Minnie giggles when his cheeks.
"Gosh. Say, anything you like me to get?"
"Well, there's ice cream passing by."
"Perfect! I'll be right by back."
Mickey got off the bench and his ukulele down on the bench and went to go get some ice cream. Mickey whistles when he approach to the ice cream cart where a vendor dog was organizing some ice cream flavor.
"Two chocolate ice cream, please." Mickey ordered kindly.
"Hiya pal."
Mickey turns around and looked at his longtime rival that look resemble to a mouse, but his appearance looks different.
"Oh, hello Mortimer." Mickey greeted.
"Say, whatcha doing so lately?" Mortimer asked.
"Just getting ice cream for my girlfriend." Mickey answered.
"Well, in case you haven't noticed, she was once my girlfriend."
"As if. I'll have you know, I am ten times better than you."
"Oh yeah? Like what?" Mortimer raised his left eyebrows when smirked.
"I go out on a date, give her flowers, supporting her, and having our anniversary all these years."
"My, you look so generous. Playing her favorite music. I'll tell you what. I bet hundred bucks to play the music to the audience."
"Hmm, that doesn't sounds so bad. Okay then, the bet is on!" Mickey shake his hands with Mortimer.
"That's what I like to hear. Oh, by the way. If you planned to play the music for the audience, the concert start in about three days."
"Three days?!" Mickey stunned.
"That's right. The concert took place in Toontown's Symphony Hall. Unless you're too chicken to go in there." Mortimer teased.
"Oh yeah! I'm not too chicken to go in there. If the concert starts in three day, I'll have my friends to do the music." said Mickey sternly.
"Great! That's would I like to hear. See you at the concert. Ha cha cha!" Mortimer left the area.
Mickey was completely shocked when Mortimer has bested him. He made a terrible mistake. The vendor holds out two chocolate ice cream when he heard the whole thing.
"Uh... are you gonna take the ice cream?"
"Huh? Oh! Sorry about that." Mickey took the ice cream and give him a dollar.
He walk back to Minnie when she looked concerned about this. Minnie must've heard the whole thing.
"Mickey, is Mortimer bested you again?" Minnie asked.
"From the looks of it, yes." Mickey answered. "(groan) What am I gonna do now. It takes three days to get the music ready before the concert starts."
"Not to worry Mickey, I'll help you get all of our friends ready in no time."
"Thanks Minnie. I know most of our pals knows how to play instrument, but the question is which of our friends who knows how to play?"
"Hmm." Minnie starts to think until a lightbulb appears above her head. "Mickey, I know what were gonna do toady."
Meanwhile at the Boonchuys residence, it's been two days since they went to Disneyland for Sprig's birthday after a whole lot of experience. They went back to visit on the second day, but went to California Adventure to explore all the fun. Anne is sitting on the couch with the Plantars and her parents when they are watching cartoon movie TV where it shows the footage of the Sorcerer's Apprentice from Fantasia. Anne must've shown some movies to the Plantars.
"So that's what this is all about, huh?" said Sprig.
"Yep, it's a good thing my dad setup our family's account on Disney Plus." replied Anne holding out the remote.
"So all this have movies and TV series?" Hop Pop asked.
"We have watched many cartoon shorts and two movies." Polly added.
"Let's just say that we should all watch together by timeline order." said Anne.
"It all make sense." said Sprig.
Suddenly, the heard a ding sound. Anne pause the movie and pulled out her phone and looked at her email when she looked up raised her eyebrows.
"A message from Mickey?"
"Ooh! What does it say?" Sprig asked.
"It says that the practice will start this evening as he invited us to volunteer for the concert that starts in three days." Anne answered.
"Sounds like fun." said Oum.
"Oh yeah! Remember when I went on stage for competition back in Amphibia?" Sprig recalls.
"Yeah, I remember that part. Which kinda reminds me when my friends and I are doing the Battle of the Band before we left Wartwood." said Anne.
"Wait, you and your friends do the band?" Bee asked.
"Forgot to mentioned to you. But it's a long story."
"Say um, is it alright that I can join the concert?" Sprig asked politely.
"If that's the case, then alright. You can go, but only that you don't stay up all night." replied Oum.
"Sweet! Can Anne come too?"
"I don't see why not. I'm in." said Anne.
"Yes!"
"Great, now can we watch the movie? It's been paused for a minute." said Polly.
"Right. We'll go when it's nighttime."
Later that evening at the music school in Toontown where they used to film, Anne and the Plantars arrived when they entered where it shows most of their friends. Anne brought her own guitar, Sprig brought his new violin that he got for his birthday, Polly brought her own trumpet, and Hop Pop brought his own guitar once they took their seat.
Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Horace, and Clarabelle were taking their seats along with their own instruments. Phineas, Ferb, Isabella, Baljeet, Buford, and the Fireside Girls were also there with their instruments. The kids must've read the letters and ask their parents permission before the volunteer.
The only characters are available are the Three Little Pigs, Jose, Panchito, Sebastian the crab, Genie, Timon, Pumbaa, Stitch, and Louis the Alligator bringing their own instrument respectively. Everyone in the gym were chatting about their daily until Mickey and Pluto appears when everyone stops talking for a moment.
"Hiya folks. I like to thank you all here for tonight. I really appreciate how you volunteer for the concert and it's gonna take three days until the concert starts at Toontown Symphony Hall." said Mickey as he announced
"Do instruments of torture count?" Polly asked.
"No, not really."
"Is mayonnaise an instrument?" Goofy asked.
"No, Goofy, mayonnaise is not an instrument." Goofy raised his left hand again, but Mickey intervene. "Horseradish is not an instrument, either."
"When do we get free food?" Timon asked.
"As soon as we take a break. Right now, we're going to start practicing in about two hours. So, is everybody ready?"
All of his friends holds out their instruments when they open the music notes on the music stand.
"Good, now, repeat after me, brass."
Polly, Goofy, Fiddler, Ferb, Genie, Pumbaa, and Louis plays the trumpets.
"Good. Now, wind."
Minnie, Donald, Clarabelle, and Fifer Pig plays the flutes.
"Now, drums."
Buford plays the drum like doing a solo drum until he finish once he hits the cymbal.
"Perfect! Now, guitar!"
Phineas and Anne plays their guitar like rock in roll style. Everyone was impressed at them.
"Wow! Talk about rock n' roll! Nicely done!." Mickey smiles.
"Thanks. Ferb and I been doing some music for years." said Phineas.
"Now, I want everyone to stand in straight rows of five so we can kick up the beat."
"Is this the part where we start kicking?" Buford asked smiling.
"No, Buford. That's a chorus line." Isabella reminds him.
"You mean like this?" Goofy asked when accidentally kick Donald's bottom.
"HEY!" Donald snaps. "Why you!"
He angrily jumped on Goofy starts fighting with dust clouds as they rolled pass by them until they reach outside and the doors slam shut. Everyone was staring at the door. Then Goofy opens the door sticking his head out.
"Just for the reminder, do not make Donald angry. You wouldn't like him when he's angry."
Goofy walks in and it is revealed that Donald has stuck his body in a trombone when notes are heard as he walks towards his seat. As he sits down, he makes a loud trombone noise as he opens his mouth. Donald came back taking his seat next to Daisy when staring at him sternly.
"What?" Donald shrugged.
Few seconds later, Goofy has already took off his trombone as they prepared to start practicing.
"Now, let's start practice by using my own theme song which everybody likes. Ready? One... two... three... four..."
They start the music as they played "Mickey Mouse March" while Mickey conducts the music. Everything is going so well, but suddenly, he raise his arms when the music stops.
"Sorry, just a little minor setback." Mickey apologized when turn the page. "Let's try again."
Mickey conducts again when they start the music. But suddenly, he raise his arm to stop the music again.
"Not quite my tempo."
"Am I rushing or am I dragging?" Daisy asked.
"Not at the moment. No."
"Do you think that I'm out of tune?" Pumbaa asked.
"Um...why don't we just change the subject."
Suddenly, he felt his phone that's been vibrating. Mickey pulled out his phone and looked at the unknown message says "Hey Mick! Is your band ready? Hope you don't kick the beat! - Mortimer". Mickey react when he gets a little mad when Mortimer teased him again and then he delete the message.
"Alright, were gonna try harder as long as I don't messed up. So let's go again."
"Ugh! Can we go home now?" Polly groan.
"Polly, now's not the time. We gotta stay focus." said Anne taking seriously.
"Aw phooey." Polly muttered.
"You said it." Donald agrees when muttered.
The next day in the afternoon, Mickey and his friends are walking down the street in Toontown playing "Mickey Mouse March" while he was conducting when walking backwards.
"Alright gang, so far, so good. Symphony Hall, here we come!" said Mickey twirling his stick.
He's glad that he got everything under control. Not even a complains. But suddenly when he spins the stick so hard and accidentally release it launch up in the air until a monoplane appears which hit causes an explosion. Everyone covers themselves as they look away from the explosion once the smoke settles. They recovered themselves until they heard a shout.
"I'M OKAY!"
"Wah wah wahhhh." Donald remarks.
"Donald!" Daisy scolded.
"Hehe, whoops." Mickey chuckled nervously.
The next day by evening at the music school, everyone gathers as they took their seats with their instruments. Mickey is proudly smile at his friends. Their second practice was going so well from yesterday despite the incident. There's no complain and no fighting going on. After they made some practice for that evening, Mickey made an announcement.
"Alright folks, this is our last night together before the show. We come for this far as we make the music perfect. So, if we play loud, people might think we're good. Everybody ready?"
Everyone raised their instruments smiling.
"And a one, and a two, and a one, two, three, four!"
We cut from the outside of the music school and a blast of noise ensues, breaking the windows. Cuts back inside the music school, where Mickey's face is deformed beyond recognition, his ears went flat, and his baton breaks.
"Okay, new plan. Maybe we should play so quietly, no one can hear us."
"Well, maybe we wouldn't sound so bad if some people didn't try to play with big, meaty claws!" said Timon when he's out of patience.
"What did you say, punk?!" Sebastien poked the meerkat's chest when offended.
"Big... meaty... claws!" Timon repeated slowly.
"Well, these claws ain't for just attracting mates!"
"Bring it on, old man! Bring it on!"
"No, people. Let's be smart and bring it off." said Phineas calmly when intervene.
"Oh, so now Dinner Bell is gonna preach to us." said Buford.
"Guys, wait! I know tensions are high..." Mickey was about to calm them down.
Everyone in this room are having their argument a bit, but all of sudden, chaos breaks free. Everyone start fighting with some dust clouds until the dust settles. Donald and Daisy are yelling out each other until Stitch slams a drum on Donald. Both Timon and Sebastian charge at each other with large woodwinds, but try to screech to a halt when Hop Pop slams them both with his cymbals.
"HIYAAAA!" Isabella shouted.
The fearless leader of the Fireside Girl holds her sticks to breaks the xylophone keys from Baljeet and runs away from her. Buford approach when he kick Isabella.
"OW!"
Isabella turns around and growls at Buford. She chases the former bully when he runs away screaming. Mickey face palm at the scene.
"Oh for crying out loud." Mickey muttered.
Genie and Louis slapping their hands but turn their head away closing their eyes. Ginger and Milly are fighting over Baljeet whenever they proved themselves that either he's cute or not by pulling his arms like tug of war. Phineas and Ferb tries to break up the fight when Minnie and Daisy are reaching their arms like cat fight. Sprig and Hop Pop were struggling as they fight each other which reminds them like the last time. The Three Little Pigs hit each other one by one.
Isabella, Adyson, Gretchen, and Katie are pulling Buford's both arms and legs when trying to make him saying 'uncle' as the big boy cringes when he felt pain. Pumbaa holds Timon and Sebastian to break up the fight. Clarabelle whack Goofy by her purse. Horace tries to break up the fight between Jose and Panchito when they are arguing. Stitch is straggling Donald.
And finally, Anne is holding Polly when the pollywog tries to attack her by kicking her face while Holly tries to break up the fight. Then all of sudden, the whistles blows so loud when the fight stops. They all turn their heads at Mickey when his face turns sternly. He was very disappointed.
"Now that I have your attention. Whatever you guys are arguing, this ends now! Three days, we've been practicing our performance and what do I get? Fighting! You know better then that. I can't have you fighting or yelling at a time like this. Now shake it off and say you're sorry."
Everyone let go of each other and apologize to while shaking hands. Mickey pinch the bridge of nose when stressed out shaking his head gently. He felt like they embarrassed him. Pluto was concerned about this.
"Let's take a break for a while until I figured this out. Until then we call it a day."
Mickey walk to the office and close the door behind him leaving everyone worried. The whole went silence when the clock is ticking for a second until the silence was broken.
"You blew it man." said Buford.
"Me?!" Baljeet exclaimed.
"Not you. The weasel."
"It's pronounce 'meerkat'." Timon corrects him.
"Guys, we totally blew it." said Anne.
"Guess we're not too perfect for the concert then." Sprig lowered his voice.
"No! We are not going to give up that easily. I for one am the only girl that participate for the music band like I always use to hangout with my friends. Sprig, you said that you play violin back in Amphibia. Do you ever give up?"
"No." Sprig answered.
"Louis, you dreamed to play jazz music with the big boys in New Orleans. Do you ever give up?"
"No." Louis answered.
"Stitch, Lilo taught you how to play ukulele. Do you ever give up?"
"Naga!" Stitch answered.
"Phineas, you and your brother start the music band in last summer. Do you ever give up?"
"No." Phineas answered.
"And you know why?"
"Because we are Mouseketeers?" said Pumbaa.
"Exactly!" Anne smiles.
"Like the old man says, never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down." said Ferb.
"So what do you say? All is forgiven?"
"Yeah!" They all said together except Ferb.
"Then we're gonna rock this concert!" Anne raises her fist.
Everyone cheers for Anne's speech. Mickey comes out when heard them cheering surprised until everyone stops.
"What's all the ruckus?" Mickey asked.
"Permission to practice the music one last time?" Anne asked politely.
Mickey hasn't thought about it first, but then he smiles.
"Permission granted."
"Thanks, Mickey. There's something that came in my mind."
"And what's that?"
"I think I know the music that I listen to."
The next night at the Toontown Symphony Hall, everyone was gathered wearing their fancy clothes while some other residents are wearing their nice looking clothes. Just then, Morty and Ferdie has arrived along with their mother, Felicity who happens to be Mickey's sister and came here to see the show. Scrooge McDuck came in along with Huey, Dewy, Louie, and their mother, Della wearing their formal outfit.
"Why are we here again?" Louie asked.
"Your uncle is on stage. We need to support him. So be on your best behavior." said Scrooge.
"Yes, Uncle Scrooge." said The triplets.
"Thanks for invited us, Uncle Scrooge." said Della.
"You're welcome, Della. I wonder what music are they going to play." replied Scrooge.
Candace, Jeremy, and her parents arrived wearing their formal when taking their seats.
"So, your brothers is on stage? Can't wait to what music they can perform." said Jeremy.
"Yeah, as long as they don't make some crazy contraptions." replied Candace.
They both laugh together.
"Just kidding."
We switched to backstage where Anne's parents are wearing their nice outfit and here to support their daughter. They were wearing their VIP card holder. Anne approach to her parents wearing her blue dress with her hair tied up by blue scrunchies like she use to wear back in Amphibia.
"Hey, mom. Hey, dad. Thanks for supporting me." said Anne, thanking her parents.
"No problem, sweetie. I am so proud that you get to be on stage." replied Oum.
"Yeah, let's not forget the last time when I set the stage on fire back in my old school."
"It's alright hun, it's all in the past. You can do this." said Bee.
"Alright, let's do this."
Anne hugged her parents before she went on stage. Her parents smiles warmly at them. Mickey is now wearing his tuxedo took a peek through the curtain where Mortimer took a seat in front of the stage.
"Alright, let's see what this music turns out to be." said Mortimer.
Mickey gulped when he's nervous.
"Mickey, is everything alright?" Minnie asked while dressed up in tuxedo.
"Yeah, everything's fine, but I'm kinda a little nervous." replied Mickey.
"Don't worry, Mickey. I'll be right with you. Now show them what you're of." Minnie pecked her lips on his cheeks.
"Thanks, Minnie."
Suddenly, an announcer speaks.
"Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, please welcome as we proudly presents... Mickey Mouse."
Mickey walks out on stage when everyone is clapping their hands. He waved his hand at the audience and quickly took a glance at Mortimer who's smirking. Mickey turn back to the audience.
"Thank you, everybody. For over three days we've been work hard to practice and I know it's all stressed out, but believe it or not, I come to agree that it doesn't have to be that perfect. So, without further ado, we are performing the song that was based on Fantasmic!, Imagination, performed by Phineas Flynn and Isabella Garcia-Shapiro."
Everyone clap their hands by the time the curtains opens where it shows all of his friends on stage wearing their formal with their own instruments. The guys wearing their formal suits while the girls are wearing their dresses.
Phineas is wearing orange buttoned up rolled sleeves shirt, blue tie, light brown pants, and brown shoes holding a microphone and Isabella is wearing her formal pink dress with glitters around them holding a microphone.
Anne is sitting next to Sprig now wearing his formal suits holding his new violin. She took a glance at her parents when giving her a thumbs up. Anne smiles back. She holds her guitar once she turns the page.
Mickey turns around once he pulls out a baton tapping on the music stands to have everyone quiet. He raise his baton and starts conducting the music. Pumbaa start playing the harp. Sprig and the Fireside Girls start playing their violins. Minnie starts playing her flute with the "Sorcerer's Apprentice" theme. The light turns off slowly when the spot light shines upon both Phineas and Isabella.

Phineas and Isabella hold their hands and gaze upon their eyes for a moment, but they looked away when blushing. Phineas has no idea why he do that. Isabella was quite shy when they did.
They audience cheers when the music ends. Candace, Jeremy, and her parents stands up as they cheer for them smiling. Phineas and Isabella turn their heads at the audience then bowed at them respectively. Mickey turns around and bows to the audience.
Anne's parents were clapping them backstage. Anne gives Sprig a fist bump. Mortimer was impressed at first, but still thinking if he could still rubbing his rival's face off. Once everyone is done cheering, Anne approach Mickey when she whispered something until Mickey smiles and nodded.
"And now, ladies and gentlemen, our next performance where it talks about her experience, but we come to agree to keep our little secret. As of now, our next performance is "No Big Deal" written and performed by Anne Boonchuy."
Everyone claps their hands. Phineas gave Anne a fist bump while Isabella gave her microphone to Anne as both kids take their seat pulled out their instruments. Anne set the microphone on a stick. She took a glance at her parents where her mother holds her phone to record while Mr. Boonchuy gives his daughter a double thumbs up. Anne smiles.
"Marcy, Sasha, this is for you." Anne thoughts.
She breathes in and out. Then she started to sing.

Took a leap through a box super weird to a swamp where frogs talk.
Now it's done got no plans just my luck I'll do the best that I can.
Making friends and enemies, it's weird but hey it's grown on me!
(Flashback starts)
We look into the flashback that was during True Colors.
"I will rule not only this world, but all worlds!"
"You'll never get away with this!"
"I give you this! I gave you everything!"
"We'll right with you Anne, til the end."
"Me and Grime will hold him! Just go!"
"I just... didn't want to be alone."
"No, it can't be?!
"Polly, get the box! Get the box!"
"Give him back. Give. Him. BACK!
"I'm sorry… for everything."
(Flashback ends)
(Back in presents when it's all silence. Anne opens her eyes. Mickey raise his baton once he starts conducting when Anne resume singing.)

(Buford plays the drum. Ferb is playing on different types to make look like a remix. Sprig and the Fireside Girls plays their instruments. Anne smiles when she remember this day.)
Find a way to start again, brush off the dirt and make some friends!

(Then hit the climax and then lowered the music calmly.)

Everyone cheers on Anne as they all cheer her performance. She smiles warmly back towards the audience. Oum is smiling at her daughter while Bee blew his whistles when cheering. Most of her friends were cheering for her. Scrooge, Della, and her sons were cheering alongside with Felicity and her twin sons.
Anne and Mickey bows to the audience. Pluto walks on stage carrying a red roses when he approach. Anne gently took the flowers from Pluto and then bows to the audience. The curtain close for intermission once the audience is done clapping. Mortimer was even more stunned after all.
"Unbelievable."
Her parents walk towards Anne and gave her a hug. Oum kisses her daughter's cheeks. The Plantars approach to join the hug.
"We are so proud of you!" said Oum, smiling at her daughter.
"When did you play like that?" Bee asked smiling.
"It's a really long story." replied Anne.
She turns around at Mickey smiling.
"Mickey, thank you." said Anne kindly.
"You're welcome, Anne." replied Mickey.
Anne kneels down to give Mickey a big warm hug.
Meanwhile, we looked through the part where the view transition to see Maleficent as she watches over them at the table. The dark fairy is rubbing her chin by her left hand while she holds her staff by her right hand.
"It would seems that their friendships are getting stronger, but it won't be long until the time strikes. And as for her closest friends, what else they might have unlocking to their true power?"
Maleficent turns her head at the art of a frog jumps out from the portal carries the music box with three each colors of gemstones.
"The question is... which sides would they choose?
