Chapter 30: Hollywood Hop Pop
On a beautiful day of Hollywood in downtown L.A., Anne and the Plantars were on the bus as she takes them on a tour. Phineas and Ferb were there too along with Isabella, Candace, Linda, and Lawrence as they came for a visit. Once the bus arrives by the Chinese Theater, they stop by the traffic light where the Plantars are amazed since they last seen it. Even Hop Pop admires of all acting.
"Welcome to Hollywood. Impressive, right HP?" said Anne.
"Why, it's almost as if your world actually respects actors." replied Hop Pop.
"Resects them? Ha! Around here, people worship actors as gods."
They looked at everyone taking pictures to an actor as he smiles at his fans in front of the Chinese Theater. Hop Pop was staring at an actor. He dreamed to be an actor someday.
"If only that were me. I know my acting career didn't really pan out, but maybe I'd have a shot in this world." said Hop Pop.
"Possibly, but Mr. X is after us and he's seen you. So, we need to keep a low profile."
"I know how that feels, which kinda reminds me. I once used to be an actor, a star to be in a movie, but unfortunately it didn't turn out so well." said Candace as she remembers.
"Cheer up, Candace. We helped you got into the movie where we made our own fan video." said Phineas.
"Really?" Anne asked.
"Yeah, Ferb and I used to make our own fan video under their permission."
"Their, as if parents." Ferb added.
"Hmm, I guess that doesn't sound too bad. What do you think, Hop Pop?" said Anne.
"He's gone." said Sprig and Polly.
"What?" Anne looked at Hop Pop ran off.
"Hollywood, here I come!"
Anne was shocked that Hop Pop ran off without a warning. Anne was about to jumped off the bus, but realized that it's too risky jumped off in front of the crowd and ultimately give in.
"You know what? I do not have the energy for this." said Anne disappointed.
"I hope he doesn't get into trouble." said Isabella.
"Welcome to my life." Candace remarks.
Hop Pop ran pass a man taking picture by his girlfriend when Hop Pop didn't know that he's photo bombing. Then Hop Pop jumped on a mascot after this guy does a rapping, but he felt injured after Hop Pop jumped on his stomach. The eldest of the Plantar was excited that he gets to be on the movie much to his delight. But suddenly, he accidentally bumped into an old man as they both bumped at each other.
"Oh! I am so sorry." Hop Pop apologize when lifting an old man up.
"Ah, don't worry about it. Happens a lot at these old fogey auditions."
"What?! Auditions?! Are you all actors?!"
"Guilty as charge. Still waiting for my big break though. Humphrey Westwood, nice to meet you." said Humphrey as he introduced himself when shaking hands with Hop Pop. " You an actor too?"
"Oh, it's only my singular passion. I'm Hopidiah Plantar."
"Say, I thought I knew all the senior male actors around here. You from out of town?"
"Yep. Way out of town."
"What? Like Sacramento..."
Suddenly, a woman wearing glasses opens the door to check on the list to see who's next.
"Okay, are you Humphrey Westwood?"
She was mistakenly looking at Hop Pop instead of Humphrey thinking that it was home. Nobody notice that both Hop Pop and Humphrey looked exactly the same.
"Me? No. Why, do we look alike?" Hop Pop asked.
"(gasp) Hopidiah, you should audition. Go ahead, take my spot in line." said Humphrey kindly.
"Oh, no, no, I couldn't have."
"Nonsense. This town could be harsh on newcomers. So consider this a welcome to Hollywood from me to you."
"Well, if you insist."
Hop Pop went inside as the door the closed behind him leaving Humphrey outside. Meanwhile from the inside, Hop Pop entered the room when escorted by a woman where this room has a green screen when they practice acting.
"Wow."
A woman give a paper to Hop Pop as he started to read. And then the spotlight turns on shines upon him. He looked at the three persons. One woman with a pink hair was a judge, a man was writing on the clipboard, and another woman has a cloth on her head wears a headphone.
"Alright, I'll set the scene for you. You got this elbow cream, right? Put it on, you feel like brand new. You're so surprised, you say..."
The judge was waiting for Hop Pop to replied. However, Hop Pop was standing still for a moment until he thought it was a quiz or something.
"Oh! Wow! Great!"
The spotlight turns off when rejected.
"No. Not feeling it. Such a shame too because everything else about you is literally perfect.
"SAY WHAAAT?!"
Hop Pop echoed the whole room making a hat flew off from the man's head, glasses was left cracked, hair wind blows, and everyone was shocked and awe. They were gasp.
"(gasp) That is the most beautiful thing I've ever heard. Everyone, we got a new catchphrase!"
Hop Pop was stunned. Everyone in this room were clapping their hands around him. Hop Pop felt touched. No one has ever praised him like this before. Hop Pop smiled when blushing.
Back from the outside, Anne and her friends are at the giftshop in Hollywood to buy something. Linda and Lawrence are looking at some clothes to buy their souvenir while their kids are looking for something. Candace put on a pink star sunglasses and pose herself when taking a selfie. Sprig put on a green sunglasses curiously.
"Yep, can't see a thing." said Sprig
"Hollywood? More like Pollywood!" said Polly wearing a hat and a blue jacket that has her name on it with a huge clock necklace.
"Haha! Good one Polly." Candace laughed.
"Thanks."
"Hey, isn't that Hop Pop?" Phineas asked when he noticed someone.
Anne turns around and spotted Hop Pop, but didn't know that it was actually Humphrey.
"There's Hop Pop and it looks like he didn't even cause any trouble." said Anne.
Anne and her friends ran up to Hop Pop while leaving Candace's parents at the giftshop.
"Hop Pop." Anne calls out, but when Humphrey turns around then she realize that it was not Hop Pop. " Whoa, sorry. You look just like someone I know."
Suddenly, the door was open a woman escorting Hop Pop out when he's smiling with eyes sparkles.
"Alright, this guy got the part. Everyone else can go home."
Once the woman close, most elders left with disappointed look leaving Humphrey, Anne, and her friends behind. Her friends were impressed, but Anne was left stunned.
"What the?" Anne stunned.
"Alright!" Sprig cheers.
"Way to go, HP!" said Polly rooting for her grandfather.
"Cool!" Phineas impressed.
"Are you kidding?!" Anne exclaims.
"Hey! Congratulations, Hopidiah." said Humphrey shaking hands with Hop Pop.
But Hop Pop realized that Humprhey didn't make it to auditions.
"Humphrey, wait. I just realized I took your spot. Heck, I might have just stolen your opportunity." said Hop Pop.
"Ah, pish posh. It was one in a mil either way. I'm just happy it went to a nice guy. Plus, I've already waited 45 years for a break. What's a few more?" said Humphrey as he left.
Hop Pop couldn't believe that Humphrey has been waiting for forty five years for all this. Anne was staring at Humphrey when he walked off.
"45 years? I know the feeling Humphrey." said Hop Pop softly.
"(sigh) I still don't think this is a good idea, but as long as it's something small that no one sees. Maybe it'll be harmless." said Anne.
"Well, it can't be that bad." said Phineas.
The next day at the Boonchuy residence, Anne is sitting in the living room eating her cereal while watching TV, but suddenly the commercial is on showing Hop Pop on TV.
"Do your elbows crack when you bend them?" Hop Pop asked when cracked his elbow.
Anne then spits her cereal out dropping her bowel when shocked.
"Try crack-a-lackin elbrow creep."
"HOP POP!" Anne yells.
Sprig, Polly, and Hop Pop ran downstairs to hear the commotion and looked at the TV. Both Sprig and Polly were gasp surprisingly that their grandfather was on TV.
"But wait, there's more!"
"SAY WHAAAT?!" Hop shocked when he said together with the TV.
"Whoa!" Sprig amazed.
"Hop Pop! You're on TV!" Polly smiles when picked up the remote switching channels.
"How did I get inside the picture box?! Why am I saying lines from that play I did yesterday?" Hop Pop asked.
"Then these guys, it's on every channel." said Polly.
"Hop Pop! That wasn't a play, they were filming you for a commercial!" said Anne sternly then she double facepalm.
"You lost me, Anne." said Hop Pop.
"Augh! This is not low profile!" Anne groaned.
Suddenly, Oum and Bee slide downstairs quickly just enough to see Hop Pop on TV.
"Ooh, do we live with somebody famous?" Oum asked when smiling.
"Should we be charging rent?" Bee asked, but whispering to his wife. "Should we be charging rent?"
"Ugh! What if Mr. X sees one of these?!" Anne frantics.
"Who?" Sprig asked confused.
"Um, the secret agent who wants to catch us!"
"Anne, he's a busy federal employee. I'm sure he doesn't have time for TV." said Bee.
Meanwhile at Mr. X's house, he was feeding crickets to his new pet frogs and a tadpole for breakfast while wearing his gloves. He's wearing his grey bathrobe over his pink pajamas. It's been rough weeks for him since he has fail to catch the frogs. He took off his gloves after feeding the frogs.
"Just because I'm federal employee doesn't mean I can't enjoy odd episode of Judge Julie." said Mr. X before eating his cereal for breakfast watching on his iPad.
Then suddenly, his favorite TV show has switch to the commercial.
"Dry? Crusty? Now you don't have to be!"
Then it shows Hop Pop on screen wearing his disguises.
"Say whaaat?!"
Mr. X spits his cereal at the iPad screen when fully shocked. He picked up his iPad and take it to his desk so that he can connect to his computer and set it down on his desk. Then the commercial app pops up on his computer screen as it locate where this film takes place in ABD Studios, an opposite rival to ABC Studios that was located in Burbank.
"And they said I was a fool to not pay for ad-free streaming."
Meanwhile in Danville, Perry was having his moment laying on the couch watching TV with Phineas, Ferb, and Candace where it shows Ducky Momo doing a sing-along-song, but suddenly, the commercial was on.
"Tired of getting rusty? Now you can!"
Then it shows Hop Pop on screen wearing his disguises.
"Say whaaat?!"
"What the?!" Candace exclaims.
"Hey, it's Hop Pop!" said Phineas
"But that's impossible! I thought he's doing a theater play?"
"Well, he might've ended up on filming."
"I better call Anne. She probably must've figured out about this." Candace pulled out her phone to call Anne that she added on her contact list.
Suddenly, the beeping goes off getting Perry attention. He covered his wrist to make sure no one saw this. Perry crawls on four as he left the living and walk through the doggy door that leads to their backyard.
Once he's outside, Perry stands up on two, put on his fedora hat, and open the door on the tree as step inside the elevator and close the door on the tree. Perry goes down to his secret lair where all of his weapons and equipment's are. He ran straight to his chair and press the button showing Major Monogram on the big screen.
"Good morning, Agent P. We have a crisis going on in Los Angeles. When I was watching commercial on TV, there was an elder frog, Hopidiah Plantar, one of the frog family that lives with the Boonchuy residence."
Monogram shows a photo of Hop Pop with Anne, Sprig, and Polly doing their pose for selfie.
"Isn't the frog family that's been discovered back in the basketball court?" Carl asked when approached on screen.
"Yes, we made an a agreement to keep their secret safe with any of their friends." replied Monogram.
"Good thing they're friendly."
"As I was saying, few weeks ago when we discovered that the anomaly turns out to be a killer robot chasing down cars in the highway. We picked up the footage from traffic and then the junkyard. It turns out that the robot was sent to hunt Anne Boonchuy, one of the missing has stood against the robot with a help of her family. And then she kick the robot straight up to the sky before it explodes."
The footage shows the Cloak-Bot chasing the Boonchuys cars down in the highway and then switch it to the junkyard where Anne and her mother destroys the Cloak-Bot. Then it shows Anne with her power kick the wrecked robot up high in space before it explodes.
"And that's not the worst case at all. A federal agent, Mr. X has been sent to hunt down and capture the frogs since the word has spread all over the web, but luckily our agents remove the footage and photos from the webpage before it could spread everywhere. Unfortunately when the commercial was on, it's the frog that I'm worried about. If he was captured by Mr. X, he'll never be able to get back home without his grandkids."
Monogram shows the photo file of Mr. X. Perry is writing down on his notes about the information.
"Which is why I'm sending you on a mission to protect Hopidiah. He cannot be fall to the wrong hands. Head back to Hollywood and protect him at all cost. Good luck, Agent P."
Perry salute to his boss as he got off from the when he was about get on the flying rocket jet, Monogram halted him.
"And one more thing. Take your partner with you. He's the only human that can talk to anyone."
Perry gives Monogram a thumbs up. He got inside the rocket and lifts off leaving his headquarters. From the outside at the backyard when the grass opens like trap door as the ship launch and then the trap door close.
"Doofenshmirtz Evil Inc."
Meanwhile at D.E.I. building, Doofenshmirtz is sitting on the desk eating his cereal when watching his favorite TV show on his laptop.
"We'll be right back to "Pokémon: Detective Pikachu" on Disney XD!"
"Who would've thought this TV show was based on videogame and live action movie at the same time." said Doofenshmirtz before eating his cereal.
"Tired of back problem? Now you can!"
Then it shows Hop Pop on screen wearing his disguises.
"Say whaaat?!"
"Hm, I don't remember that commercial's lately."
Suddenly, he felt a vibrate as he took his phone out from his pocket when the message says "Hey, look outside" and then turn his head at the balcony where Perry has landed waving his arms.
"Perry the Platypus?" Doofenshmirtz asked when he got off from the desk and ran towards the rocket. " What are you doing here?"
Perry pulled out his note and give this to Heinz so that he can understand what this means Once he reads it, he looked up at Perry.
"You're on a mission to protect this old man from a federal government agent in Hollywood?"
Perry nodded.
"(gasp) Does that mean I get to go on a mission?! YIPEE!"
Doofenshmirtz hops inside the rocket ship and sit next to him.
"Finally! Our very own mission against bad guys!"
Perry looked at him awkwardly.
"What? We haven't run our spinoff together since 2015. Well, except that I was a guest star in Murphey's Law and you know what I'm saying."
Perry rolled his eyes.
"Norm! Don't damaged the lab until I get back!" Doofenshmirtz hollered before the window close and they lift off.
"But it's not breakfast time yet, sir." said Norm as he approach and then looked at the laptop. "Oh boy! My favorite commercial is on!"
Meanwhile back in Hollywood, Anne and the Plantars left the house to ride on the double-decker tour bus on top. Anne is not happy that Hop Pop has ended up on the commercial. Hop Pop noticed that Anne is not amused.
"I still think this is overkill." said Hop Pop.
"Sorry, but we need to get the commercials pulled before this gets out of control- Holy crud!" Anne shocked when the bus stops when it shows Hop Pop was on the promotion billboard.
"Whoa." said Sprig and Polly.
They looked over and see that there are more promotions like a picture of Hop Pop on top of the car roof, and then the looked back at the huge promotion of Hop Pop on the building. Anne and the Plantars got off from the bus as they exit.
"Awesome." said Polly.
"Cool!" said Sprig.
"Terrible!" said Anne grouchy.
"I can't believe all it took was getting trapped in another world to get my big break, but am I deserving? Am I living a dream that should have gone to Humphrey? Am I... ON A T-SHIRT?!" Hop Pop zipped off.
He approach at the shirts of himself saying 'SAY WHAAAT?!' while a person looked at his bored. Hop Pop point his finger.
"Oohh!" Sprig and Polly were amazed.
Anne was stunned. Polly put on a cap hat of Hop Pop, Sprig got the mug of Hop Pop, and the eldest of the Plantar holds the shirt of himself.
"Whoa! They have mugs too!" said Sprig.
"You have a catchphrase?! This would actually be pretty neat if it weren't so-" Anne's words cut off. She heard a phone rang when she pulled out her phone and answer the call.
"Hello?"
Then the screen splits into shows a director of the movie talking on the phone.
"Hi, is Mitch Harbor calling for Hopidiah Plantar."
"Wait, Mitch Harbor? THE Mitch Harbor?! Director of..."
"Fumigator 1, 2, and ? Yep. Now could I please speak to-"
Hop Pop shoved Anne as he snatch the phone.
"Hopidiah Plantar! It's me! I'm Hopidiah! Not anyone else! Only me!" said Hop Pop smiling.
"HP! I love your work! I want you to role in my latest film."
"SAY WHAAAT?!"
We zoomed out from the camera view as the he echoes throughout the city. His echo has caught everyone's attention.
"Did you hear that?" asked The woman taking pictures. "Hey, it sounded just like that guy in the commercial."
"Oh, it's really him?" said a random person.
Once the crowd walks over to Hop Pop, Mr. was in the crowd as he turns his head back at Hop Pop on the phone while everyone walks over to meet him. Then he smirked meaning that was his chance to capture.
Meanwhile inside Perry's rocket ship, his scanner has picked up the signature from Hollywood. Perry and Heinz looked down at the screen.
"What's that beeping coming from?" Doofenshmritz asked.
Perry push the button as the screen switch to Hop Pop talking on the phone.
"Hey, isn't that guy from the commercial?"
Perry nodded.
"Well, let's land somewhere in each building and I'm gonna get my license permitted."
Perry shifted to turbo as the rocket sped fast.
Back to Hop Pop chatting on the phone.
"Meet you at 10 a.m.? At your office in the studio water just show up and I get the part?!" Hop Pop asked when smile as his went sparkles.
Anne snatched her phone back from Hop Pop and looked at the screen that the time says 9:45 a.m.
"Hop Pop, don't even think about-WHAT?!" She gasp when noticed that Hop Pop ran off passing by some people.
"I'm sorry Anne. This is too big to pass off!" Hop Pop hollered.
"NO! HOP POP! GET BACK HERE!" Anne shout to Hop Pop.
"Hey! Don't push, man!"
Anne turns her head back at Mr. X shoving people out of his way. Anne was shocked that he was here. She grabbed both Sprig and Polly to hide behind the trash can as Mr. X rolls on his shoes. The federal agent contact his partner on his ear.
"Jenny, he's headed for the studio lot. Meet me with reinforcements. We got him for real this time."
He ended his call as he walk pass Anne, Sprig, and Polly sitting behind the trash can. They were staring at Mr. X marching towards where Hop Pop walks off.
"We've got to get to Hop Pop before Mr. X does. Come on" said Anne as the kids got up and pursued him very quietly.
Meanwhile at the studio in Burbank, Hop Pop has arrived at the main gate where the security guard stood before letting him pass and points at the water tower to direct him. Hop Pop ran off as he is heading to the tower.
Suddenly, a rocket ship laned softly as both Perry and Doofenshmirtz got out from the vehicle and walk to the main gate, but the security guard halt them as they approach. Luckily, Perry showed his badge to the guard as he nodded when approved. Perry and Doofenshmirtz has entered the gate.
"Well, that was easy." said Doofenshmirtz.
Mr. X has arrived as he laid against the brick wall to hide himself. he pulled out his grappling hook and use it fling it over so that he could climb over the wall and jumped over as he pass the guard without noticing.
Anne, Sprig, and Polly has arrived at the studio since they took the bus to Burbank as they approached to the main gate. Anne knew that they may be too late to stop Mr. X for reaching Hop Pop. Suddenly, a person shows up driving a golf cart at the gate. Anne looked at the golf cart and started to coming up with an idea. Once this man scan his I.D., the gate lifted as starts to drove while Anne, Sprig, and Polly snuck behind the cart when onboard.
Back to Hop Pop when he resume walk, but then heard a voice calling.
"Excuse me? Hello!"
Hop Pop turns around when both Perry and Doofenshmirtz has approach and then smiles.
"Well, howdy strangers. What brings you here? Say, aren't you that man performed on stage back at the nightclub?"
"Oh, so you remember me. Great, I'm Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz, formerly evil scientist and this is my partner, Perry the Platypus."
Perry chatters when greeted.
"Wait, platypus? Isn't that the one that I watched on TV for documentary? I remember when it talks about a platypus." said Hop Pop.
"Oh yeah, this guy is no ordinary platypus. He's a secret agent." said Doofenshmirtz.
"Wait, are a friend or are you a foe?" Hop Pop asked in suspicious.
"We're both friends! We're here to protect you from that federal government." replied Doofenshmirtz.
"Oh, for a moment I thought I could get arrested, but thanks."
"So where you heading?" Doofenshmirtz asked.
"I'm heading over to the tower to get on the big screen." replied Hop Pop.
Just as he turns around when two persons carried a mirror, he looked at himself, but suddenly, he looked at Mr. X from the mirror and gasp that he's here. Perry turn his head at Mr. X and went shocked. Doofenshmirtz noticed too.
"Oh hey, isn't that the guy from the TV show? What was his name again?" Doofenshmirtz asked.
Both Hop Pop and Perry crawl under the mirror while Doofenshmirtz ran around to catch up with them.
"Hey, wait for me!"
Hop Pop and Perry arrived at the parking lot where golf carts are. Hop Pop got into the driver seat while Perry sits up in front. Doofenshmirtz jumped on the back as he holds the pole before Hop Pop pulls up and drove away just in time before Mr. X reach them. He ran to the cart as he back up and drove to start the chase. Once the cart stood still all this time, Anne, Sprig, and Polly saw everything as they gasp.
"Oh no! Hop Pop!" Anne shocked.
"AH! Who the heck are you people?" startled The person.
"NO QUESTIONS EARTH MAN!" Polly shouted.
The pollywog shoved the driver allowing Sprig to hop over the driver seat while Anne jumps in front before Sprig start driving.
"Oh my frog!" Sprig exclaimed.
"WOO HOO!" Polly cheers.
"AAAHHH!" Anne yelped.
The chase is on as the kids pursued Mr. X while Mr. X pursued Hop Pop, Perry, and Doofenshmirtz driving all around the studio when they entered one of the stage.
Meanwhile from the inside where stage sets up as a city that they were filming Tarantulad fighting Bufferfish with strings attached. Hop Pop drove out onset with Perry and Doofenshmirtz while Mr. X pursued them.
We cut to the office where it shows a woman that directs the show looking at the TV for security camera, but didn't noticed when there's a cart chase.
"Alright, cue the pyrotechnic."
Back to Hop Pop's driving with Perry and Doofenshmirtz.
"Hey, this is actually pretty realistic." said Hop Pop.
"Hey, wait. I think I seen this place before." Doofenshmirtz noticed.
Suddenly, a pyro goes off startling at them as Hop Pop steady the wheel when driving. Two more pyro goes off startling them.
"Holy smokes!" Hop Pop shocked.
"Ramps!" Doofenshmirtz pointed his finger.
They jumped over the ramps with pyro goes boom, then Mr. X jumps behind, and then the kids followed last. They drove back out to another stage as the chase continues. Meanwhile at the studio where they filmed "Suspicion Island" where to actors are acting their stunts. Just as Hop Pop and Mr. X drove past them, Sprig came to a halt where they saw the stage when filming.
"Wait, Suspicion Island is not real?!"Sprig shocked.
"Doy." said Polly.
"Don't be so gullible, dude." said Anne.
Meanwhile in another stage where it shows two actors playing as Lady Franklin and Lord Frankerton are sitting at the tea while their butler is standing. Just then when Hop Pop and Mr. X drove past them as they startled, and then the kids emerge out from the bush and lands on the table smashing into pieces with the tea sets. Anne, Sprig, and Polly were shocked that they were on the set.
"Prince of all Manners!" Anne gasp.
"Lord Frankerton!" said Sprig.
"And Lady Franklin!" Polly added.
"What do y'all think you're doing? This here's a closed set!"
"Wait, your accent isn't real?" Anne asked.
"Who's gullible now, Anne?" Sprig teased.
Back to the chase from the outside, Hop Pop is still driving with Perry and Doofenshmirtz while Mr. X pursues them. Hop Pop looks up at the tower. He knew that he's almost there.
"Ah." Hop Pop sighed dreamily.
"TREE!" Doofenshmirtz shouted.
"AAH!" Hop Pop yepled.
He swirled the wheel before he hit the palm tree and spins them around and then the tree fell blocking Mr. X's path as he hit the brake before crash. He growls when he drove. They keep spinning around until they Hop Pop stops.
The three of them got out from the cart as they felt dizzy. They shook their heads off to regain conscious and looked up at the tower. Hop Pop turn his head at both Perry and Doofenshmirtz.
"Thanks for helping me, fellas." said Hop Pop.
"You're welcome. Who was that guy anyway?" said Doofenshmirtz.
"Just a federal agent wanted to capture me."
"Mr. X? Oh! That guy! For a moment I thought he looks awfully familiar."
"Is that a fact? Well, guess I should be going then." Hop Pop walks off leaving them both behind standing. "This is it, Hopidiah. After today, you'll be the biggest frog actor who ever lived!"
Suddenly, he accidentally hit the old janitor that was sweeping.
"Oh, I'm so sorry! I didn't see you there!" Just as Hop Pop apologize, the old man stands up when Hop Pop recognize him. "Humphrey?!
"Looks like you found out my day job, Hopidiah. Where are you off to?"
Humphrey is now wearing his janitor outfit. Hop Pop couldn't believe that his friend was actually a janitor. But he realize that Humphrey is asking him.
"Oh, me? I uh... have an audition up there." replied Hop Pop pointing his finger at the tower.
Humphrey turns his around at the tower.
"With Mitch? Bravo, my friend. Bravo. Golly, what a break. I'm so happy for you. Even if I never make it, it's enough to know an old fart like me did. Now, get up there. Mitch is waiting for you."
Hop Pop took a glance up at the tower and then glanced at Humphrey. He took a glance back at Perry and Doofenshmirtz as the man gives him a thumbs up. He started to realize that Humphrey's dream to be an actor. He felt like he took his spot away from his new friend. Hop Pop knew what must be done.
"(sigh) No Humphrey, he's waiting for you."
"Huh? What are you talkin about?"
"It's only because of your kindness that I even had this chance and it's high time that I return the favor."
Later on at the office where Mitch is sitting at the office.
"Alright, Mr. Plantar, after hearing read those pages, I'm gonna have to say... you got the dank part!"
But suddenly, Mr. X has arrived with Jenny and his reinforcements when the door is open.
"There he is! Get him!"
Two FBI Officers ran over to the chair as he believe that Hop Pop is in there. By the time Anne, Sprig, and Polly arrives at the tower when they heard a punching sound, they knew that they were too late.
"NO!" Anne and Sprig shocked.
"THEY GOT HOP POP!" Polly shocked.
"You kids sure about that?"
They turned their heads back at Hop Pop who was standing as he. The kids were shocked to see that Hop Pop was still out there.
"Wait, then who did they catch?" Sprig asked.
Back at the tower where two men has hold the old man when Mr. X approach as he laugh triumph.
"Thought you could escape me, huh?"
Just then that it was Humphrey looked up at Mr. X. The old man was told by Hop Pop to take his spot. Just as Mr. X reach his hand to grab his nose, he injured the old man's nose.
"Ow! Let go of my nose!"
"Wait, it's not a false nose? But-" Mr. X stunned.
"I don't believe this! You dare treat Hollywood's star this way?! You'll be hearing my robust team of lawyers after this." said Mitch as he crossed.
"No! It can't be! Not again!" Mr. X went panic as he realize that his capture has foiled again.
"Alright, stand down. Mr. X was wrong again." said The chief officer.
As soon as the FBI agents walk pass by Mr. X defeated on his knee while comforted by Jenny, he started to get angry when he realize that Hop Pop has escape from him once again. The police force never believes him once again. Even his boss, will not be pleased.
All of police force left the studio as they all drove away. Mr. X came to the kart last as he got in with Jenny as they drove away.
"Jenny, I'm gonna need some ice cream, girl. A lot of ice cream."
Once they drove away, Anne, the Plantars, Perry, and Doofenshmirtz pops out from the bush just to see that they're gone. They all step out from the bush.
"Whew! Glad that's over. Looks like our work here is done." said Doofenshmirtz.
"Thanks for helping me, Dr. D." Hop Pop thanking him.
"Anytime, HP. I f you need any help, just call us." He hands out the card to him as both Perry and Doofenshmirtz has exit the studio to climb onboard to his rocket ship and take off as they flew away from the studio. That only leaves four more left.
"Okaaay?" said Sprig.
"Since when did you make friends?" Polly asked.
"It's a long story." replied Hop Pop
"I don't get it? You abandoned the audition?" Anne asked.
"I didn't abandoned it. I just gave it to someone who's waited as long as I have." Hop Pop explained.
They all looked up at the tower where Humphrey is shaking hands with Mitch kindly. Humphrey looked down at Hop Pop smiling at him.
"Thank you." said Humphrey kindly when whispered.
Hop Pop winked at him saying you're welcome.
"I've already had a taste of the spotlight kids. It's time for this old to stop pining after what he doesn't have and starts seriously protecting the things he does."
Hop Pop turns around to see Anne, Sprig, and Polly standing there smiling. Hop Pop walked closer to his family and gave them a big warm hug as the kids embrace the elder back. Perry and Doofenshmirtz were smiling at them.
"Bravo, Hop Pop. Bravo." said Anne.
"Besides, this whole experience has taught me the real power is behind the camera." said Hop Pop as he climbed on the kart.
Anne, Sprig, and Polly climbed onto the kart as Hop Pop drove away to the sunset where the exits are leaving Perry and Doofenshmirtz behind.
"Wait, you don't mean..."
"That's right, Anne. from now on, I wanna be a director."
Anne kicks Hop Pop out of the kart as we go up to the title says "The End"...for now.
