Chapter 37: No Strings On Me
Few days later, everyone in Los Angeles are doing their own daily like go to work or go to school. Not all people are doing their own daily as we look into Bailey's Apartment where Eddie is sitting on the couch looking at his text from his parents that he received. Then a few days later on Christmas Eve, he was so happy to see his sister again as a green glowing spirit.
His life wasn't the same since he had an argue with his parents, then he moved out from his home to live with his girlfriend, and looked everywhere to find her, but it is revealed that his spirit sister has told him the truth about Amphibia.
He received his text from his parents that says "How are you doing son? We hope you're feeling better when you found her." and then he texted back, saying "Thanks, guys". Eddie sighed sadly and he felt that he abandoned his family just to find his sister. Then suddenly, Marcy pops up right in front of him.
"BOO!"
"AHH!" Eddie yelped as he nearly drops his phone.
"Gotcha!" Marcy laughed cheerfully.
Eddie gives her a tease fully look.
"Ha ha, very funny." said Eddie sarcastically.
"Aw, come on, big brother. You know I'm getting used to be in my spirit form."
"Yeah, but next time, don't ever do that again."
"Oh, okay. You win."
Marcy looked over through her brother's shoulder to see the text from their parents. Marcy dropped her smile and she knew what day it is.
"Hey, are you okay?" Marcy asked softly.
"Yeah." Eddie sighed sadly.
Marcy laid her hand on her brother's shoulder just to comfort him.
"It wasn't your fault. Neither are of our parents. It was really my fault for taking my friends away from their families. Sasha is still stuck in Amphibia, but at least Anne made it back home. How am I supposed to tell her for what I've been through?"
Eddie looked at his sister with her sad look. He wraps his arm around her shoulder to give her some comfort.
"I know, but I don't care if any of us are to blame. We can still find the way to head back to Amphibia together."
"Yeah, together."
Both Eddie and Marcy are hugging by their arms, but at least as a spirit he can still touching her rather than going through like a ghost. Just then, Bailey and Kettle shows up as they walked in with their smiley face.
"Hey, you two, we got some good news." said Bailey.
Eddie and Marcy turn their head at them.
"What's up?" Eddie asked.
"Anne has invited us to come over at her house." Kettle smiles.
"Really?"
"Yeah, let's head on over and see what we can do." replied Bailey.
Both siblings looked at each other when smiled.
"Well, shall we?" Eddie asked.
"Please, by all means." replied Marcy.
He got up from the couch as an Asian boy went to pick up the key from the hanger, then he opens the door as he walked out along with Bailey and Kettle while Marcy magically turns into a glowing green butterfly as she flew over pass before the door was closed.
It only took longer when they use his car to head over to the Boonchuy's residence after he parked the car. Then they got out of the car and walk towards to the front door until he rings the doorbell. They were waiting for someone to answer until they could hear the doorknob was twisted, then the door was open when they see Anne who opens the door with her smiley face.
"Hey, guys!" Anne greeted.
"Hey, Anne." Eddie greeted back.
"Hi, Anne." Bailey added.
"Hi!" Kettle waved.
"Come on in. You're just in time for the party." said Anne.
She let the three walks inside and then she closes the door. Anne is escorting them to the living room until when they sat down in the living room with her parents and the Plantars.
"Thank you for coming over and I have some great news. I got a call from Terri and she said that the portal is nearly finished." said Anne.
"Really?" Eddie raises his eyebrow when surprised.
"Yep, and that's not all, when my friends and I had a chat with Yen Sid about the plan. If we return to Amphibia, we're gonna need all the help we can get and I know how many friends we can gather."
Then Anne shows the board on wheels that was filled with some pictures of any characters with the word title on top. Eddie, Bailey, and Kettle were fascinated at the board while Sprig, Polly, and Hop Pop are sitting on the floor. Marcy was smiling that she knows who they are while Anne explains.
"I'm assembling the elite team to help us get our friends back, stop the invasion, and saved the world. I called it... Team Calamity!"
"Team Calamity?" Eddie repeatedly.
"That's right. Since I have... um, well... me and my friends have that kind of power way before we charge the music box before anything else happens." replied Anne.
Marcy knew what she meant, but she shuddered that she mentioned it.
"So, how did this happen?" Bailey asked.
"Trust me, you don't want to know." Sprig answered.
"Now, like I said, we're gonna gather our friends for those who are really good at. The Pines Family has solved the mysteries back in Gravity Falls. Phineas, Ferb, and their friends had invented some whacky contraptions for over a hundred and four days of summer. Stitch was design to wreck anything that is a threat and he will protect us. Timon and Pumbaa are bugs expert. Genie is... well, Genie." Anne explained.
"Mickey and his friends are the first ones that they can join us and they have some magical weapons!" Sprig added.
"So, are you guys in?" Polly smiles.
"We're in." Eddie answered when smiles.
"Welcome aboard. I'll let you know when the portal is ready." said Anne.
"Anne, thank you so much for helping me." Kettle jumped off the couch to hug Anne's leg.
"You're welcome, kiddo. I promise you that we're gonna get your parents back and your brother too." replied Anne when she's hugging her back.
Eddie and Bailey were smiling warmly at the moment, but then he heard a sound from his phone. He took his phone out from his jacket pocket to see the text messages. Anne let go of her embrace from the newt girl the way she's looking at.
"Who's texting you?" Anne asked.
"Oh, it's my friends from school." Eddie answered.
"Really? Who are they?" Sprig asked curiously.
"There's Darrel, Ivan, Ethan, KJ, Frank, and Jake. Even Max is texting me."
Anne dropped her smile when she shrinks her eyes pupil and went froze. Both teens noticed her look.
"Hey, you okay?" Eddie asked.
"Uhhhh..."
Anne was a little lost at first. The Plantars, however are quite confused. Marcy grew her eyes wide open when she realizes that Eddie forgot to mentioned it. How can the two of them didn't tell her or Anne when realize that they forgot something that's important?
"Anne? Can you hear me?" Sprig asked.
"What's up with her?" Polly asked when deadpanned.
"Oh, I almost forgot to mentioned it after you came back." Eddie answered.
"Some might say that they're Anne's friends." Bailey added.
"Really? There's more of them?" Sprig raised his eyebrows.
"Uh, which one is Anne's boyfriend?" Hop Pop asked curious.
"Did she have a kiss?" Polly added.
"Uh... I GOTTA GO!" Anne sped off when she ran upstairs.
Everyone in this room were blinking their eyes that Anne has just ran off for no reason. Bee facepalmed while Oum pinched her nose bridge as they both forgot to mentioned or didn't know how many friends does these girls have.
Eddie and Bailey were confused at first, but they kinda felt bad that they think when they embarrassed Anne. Kettle doesn't understand what they're talking about. Same goes for the Plantars. Then an Asian boy turn his head at the Plantars that were confused.
"Maybe it's probably the best if I should explain this to you." said Eddie with apologies look.
Later that night after Eddie, Bailey and Kettle has already left the house, they apologize to Anne for their embarrassed moment, but she already forgives them shortly. Anne was asleep on her bed while wearing her pjs along with the Plantars. Polly is sleeping with Domino, Sprig is sleeping on the bean bag, and Hop Pop is snoring with a blanket he just borrowed.
For Anne, however is having trouble sleeping when she turns her body sideways repeatedly as the camera zoom closer when she started to sweat and then she opens her eyes as the Thai girl was staring up in the sky.
She sat up and looks around the whole field, outside where the playground is are with some fog surroundings. She looks at the swing that just move very slightly a bit. Anne must've thought that she was dreaming. She remembers when she used to hang out with her friends, but to her, it's different.
Then suddenly, as the wind blows very softly. Anne has stood up, but with her pajamas that she was wearing until the wind started to blow harder as her hair is blown by the wind. Anne felt that it was cold a bit, but her question is how.
But then, it happened when there was a spark as the Thai girl heard something. She turns around where the sandbox is at, but then the lighting started to spark when it started to grow big as the portal started to open with some lightning bolt and then the wind blows hard.
When Anne prepares for the worst when she thought something is about to happen. Could this be the portal to Amphibia? Does the king figure out how to open the portal to send another robot? Let's hope she finds out.
And by then when the portal started to blow, but instead for what really surprise when a yellow triangle being sped out and hit the brakes by its stick feet until it stops and then the wind stops blowing after the portal is close.
Anne blinked her eyes twice. She was staring at the triangle like pyramid being with black arms, black legs, black bow tie, and one eye like cyclops in the middle. Then he reaches his arm to pull out his black top hat and put it on the tip of the triangle. Then he looks at Anne and started to speak.
"Oh, boy! It took me long enough to find you and I have no idea how long I've been waiting for this moment."
Anne was stunned for all of sudden.
"Uh... who are you?" Anne asked.
"Oh! Where are my manners? The name's Bill Cipher, and you must be Anne Boonchuy, the girl who disappeared along with your friends for over 5 months until you return with the Plantars."
"Wait, how did you know my name?" Anne shocked.
"Oh, I know lots of things." Then his body shows pictures of various cryptic locations. In a slow, deep voice. "LOTS OF THINGS."
Bill Cipher, the triangle demon is showing any flashbacks from past, then present, then the future all over his triangle body until it's back to normal.
"Hey, look what I can do!"
Bill started to levitate when something comes out from the ground until it turns out that there were earthworms that Bill gestures and hands over the earthworms to Anne.
"Earthworm! For you kid!" Bill laughs.
Anne yelped when she drops the worms on the ground.
"AUGH! WHAT THE HECK?!" Anne exclaims.
"Oh, relax! You used to hate bugs, but now you do!" said Bill.
"Listen pal! I don't who or what you are, but you can you tell me what the heck is going on?!" Anne exclaimed.
"Hey, take it easy kid. I've been keeping an EYE ON YOU since then, and I must say I'm impressed!"
Anne was in both surprised and shock after Bill switch his lower voice and then back to normal.
"You do?" Anne asked.
"Of course! You're one of the prophecies that can change everything! Let's say that you made some friends and foes, blowing up robot up in the sky, hello! Even you have calamity power from the music box! You deserve a prize! Here, have a head that's always screaming!"
Bill claps his hand when a screaming head with a human appearance appears as he screams repeatedly.
"AAH! AAH! AAH!..."
"AH!" Anne shockingly yells.
As the screaming head continues until Bill snap his finger as the head disappears layer by layer, making Anne felt disgusted while Bill laughs.
"Hahaha... Pretty shocking, huh? I get that you had a lot going on about your friends. You should have been traumatized, but it doesn't really matter now. Can you keep it a real secret? The point is, I like you. How's about you let me give you a hint, huh? I only ask for a small... FAVOR... in return."
Anne hasn't thought about it at first, but she her instinct is telling her that this demon cannot be trusted. She shook her thoughts off.
"Look, dude. I don't even who you are or why are you in my head." said Anne.
"Why, you're in your mindscape!" replied Bill.
"Yeah, I know what mindscape is, but you should know that you can't be trusted."
"Oh ho, and why's that?" Bill asked.
"Oh, I'll tell you what I know. The last thing I trust is my friends, but what I don't trust is-"
"King Andrias that betrays you and tries to take over the entire universe. Yeah, I get it. Well, if you ever change your mind, I'll be here for you to ready to make a deal!"
Bill presents the machine-like casino three slots appear spinning on his chest until they stop at a heart symbol and then switch back to normal. Anne has no idea who she's dealing with.
"Hey, wanna hear my impression of you in about three seconds? AAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"
Then there's a white flash when Anne jolts up screaming.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAH!"
Anne stops screaming for a moment, but it turns out that it was already morning. She blinked her eyes very surprisingly that she's been dreaming until she woke up in the morning. She moves her head around to see of anyone can hear her, but then again, nobody was here.
Anne just sighed with relief, but then without a warning when the door was kick by Sprig for which she's been startled. Her scream must've got her best friend's attention after he got in while hops on her.
"Anne, what was that? Are you okay? Are you hurt?! Who attack you?!" Sprig desperately asked.
"Sprig, relax! I'm okay! See?" said Anne.
Sprig started to look at her suspiciously.
"Hmmmm... are you sure?"
"I'm positive!"
Sprig wasn't convinced at first, but instead he formed his smile quickly.
"Okay, but don't scare me like that next time. Otherwise, what would happen if King Andrias send another robot to attack." said Sprig.
"Pfft, that's ridiculous. There's no way he's gonna send another killer robot." Anne scoff.
"Haha, maybe you're right. C'mon! It's time for breakfast!"
"Okay, dude. I'll be right with you."
Sprig nodded when he jumped off from the bed and walked off to head back downstairs for breakfast. Anne got out from her bed when she changed her clothes, then she walks downstairs to the kitchen for breakfast.
Meanwhile back at Bailey's apartment, Eddie is having his own breakfast along with Bailey and Kettle as the three are eating cereal at the kitchen table. Sammie was happily eating her cereal like she has first tasted once she arrives here.
Marcy hovered over the table when she's watching them eating their breakfast, but she knew that she can't eat anything because she wasn't in her physical form. As a spirit, she doesn't have to eat anything until she will get her body back.
"(sigh) I miss having breakfast with you." Marcy sighed sadly.
"Don't worry sis, we'll get your body back." said Eddie.
"So, what's the plan for today?" Bailey asked.
"Alright, here's what were gonna do. We're gonna head over to the junkyard where Anne kick the robot right up in the sky before it was destroyed. So that we can find some spare parts where she and her mother tears it apart." Eddie explained.
"Then how are we gonna find it?"
"I'm not sure, but I doubt that Otto must've found the the arm when he turned into supervillain to fight Frog-Man."
"I'm pretty sure that there are some pieces left." said Marcy when levitate.
"You've been there before?" Eddie asked.
"No, not really."
"Alright, let's wrap it up and head over to the junkyard to find some missing piece."
"Yay!" Kettle cheered.
"Great! I'll take these bowls to the sink for you." said Marcy politely.
"You don't have to do that." said Bailey.
"Please, I insist."
"(giggles) Okay, you win."
"Thank you."
Marcy kindly takes three empty bowls with spoons to the sink. Eddie put on his jacket while Kettle put on her disguises with coat and mask. Bailey grabs her boyfriend's key from the hanger before she opens the front door.
"Alright, troops. Let's roll out!" said Marcy before she magically turns into a green butterfly and flew off.
Eddie shook his head gently after Bailey and Kettle walked out through the door and then he goes last when he closes the door behind him.
Back at the Boonchuy's house, Anne is eating her cereal with Sprig while watching her favorite TV show called "Ducktective". Hop Pop was very interest that he used to solve the case back in Newtopia.
"How very interesting, but do tell me why the duck is detective again?" Hop Pop asked.
"I have honestly no idea, but they kinda based off of Sherlock Holmes." replied Anne.
"I thought we were watching the duck that flaps in the night." Polly remarked.
"Well, back in my day I used to solve the case while the three of you are in line for the arcade." said Hop Pop.
"Oh! Did you ever mentioned to Anne's dad about the-" Sprig words was cut off by Anne.
"Don't ever mentioned it." Anne deadpanned.
Then suddenly, she heard a ringtone when she took her phone and answered the call.
"Hello?"
Then the screen split into two where it shows Terri smiling on the phone.
"Anne, good news. The portal is almost complete." said Terri.
"Really?!" Anne raises her eyebrows.
"Yep, it means that the portal to Amphibia is ready to go."
"That's wonderful! I'll be there shortly."
"No problem. See you there."
Anne hangs up the phone after the screen went to normal.
"Guys, good news! The portal is almost ready!" said Anne smiling.
"Really?!" Sprig gasped.
"Finally!" Polly chimes.
"When?!" Hop Pop asked.
"Today!" Anne answered.
"Then what are waiting for? Let's go!" Sprig bounced.
"Don't forget our disguises." Hop Pop reminded them.
"I'll go get Frobo!" Polly sped off to grab Frobo.
"I'll get my stuff ready." said Anne.
"Okay, I'll go tell your parents some good news." replied Sprig.
Then Anne ran upstairs to her room get things ready while Sprig is telling her parents some great news. She's so excited that the portal was almost complete. She thought that it might take too long for the portal to be invented, but at least it came fast.
Anne picked up a note as she flips pages to see her friends on the list. She has written their names from between human realms and toon world, including her old friends. Then she flips over to the page where she has written down the plan to get back to Amphibia.
So far, so good by the time she and her friends jumped to the portal, she'll finally get the chance to see her friends again once she rescues them and make amends for everything. But suddenly, Anne noticed when everything turns black and white. She was a bit startled at first, but until Bill shows up with a flash. Anne was shocked.
"Well, well, well. Someone's looking desperate." said Bill.
"Bill?! What are you... what's going on?!"
"Oh, don't mind me. Whenever I visit, time went stop. It's like you're on TV when I paused!"
Anne looks out the window and sees that everything was frozen in time. She was all stunned when the birds stop flying, the kid on a skateboard was froze in midair, and she could see her parents are outside getting the car. Then she looks at Bill.
"No way."
"See? You still have time. I can help you, kid. You just need to hear out my demands." replied Bill.
"You? Help me?" Anne raised her eyebrows skeptically.
"That's right! I'll help you get your friends back. In return, you're going to give me something I want!"
"Hold up. What is it that you want? Pull my teeth? Take my soul? Chopping my arms and replace by robot arm like a cyborg?!"
"Yeesh, kid, relax. All I want is a puppet!"
"A puppet?" Anne blinked.
"Everybody loves puppet! I can tell that you used to perform puppet show before the mayor almost attempt to chop off your arm. It'll be hilarious!"
"Wait, you read my mind?!" Anne shocked.
"Like I said, I know lots of things."
"Okay, but why do you need puppets for?"
"Seems to me one little puppet is a small price to pay to learn all the secrets of the universe. Besides, what's your best friends done for you, lately? How many times have you sacrificed for them, huh? And when do they ever return the favor?"
Bill shows some flashback to Anne where she remembers that dreadful day when she stole the music box for Sasha and Marcy, then it shows Anne tried to save Sasha from the tower collapse, and then finally it shows her overprotecting Marcy from the giant ants.
Anne hasn't thought about it lately, but what if Bill is right? Can he be trusted since they have just met? She took a glance at her picture frame that it shows the photo of Anne with Sasha and Marcy at the playground for hangout.
"Tick tock, kid. All you gotta do is shake my hand."
Bill reaches his right hand to her and his hand lights on blue fire. Anne was hesitated at first, but she's been thinking twice before she reaches her hand. What choice does she have left? Accept the offer to bring back her friends? Or decline and keep it that way? Then she exhaled in defeat.
"Fine, but just for once."
Anne reaches her right hand to shake hands with Bill when closing the deal, but her hand hasn't felt burning through her skin just as she thought.
"So, which puppet do you want, anyway? Muppets or Sesame Street?" Anne asked.
"Hmm, let's see. Eenie meenie mynie... YOU.
"Wait, what?"
Then Bill pulls her arm out, but then it happened when she was separated and looked shocked that her body was fainted right after the whole place went back to color. She put her hand through her stomach and she looked panicked.
"Oh, my gosh! My body! What did you do to my body?!" Anne panicked.
In Anne's body, the eyes were open, but with yellow that glows with black pupil as it turns out that it was Bill, all along. He slowly stands up and showing her evil grinned.
"Sorry, kid but you're MY puppet, now! AAHAHAHA! AAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Bill evilly laughs.
Anne couldn't believe that she's been tricked. Just like how the king has betrayed her. Right from the start.
"Oh, no. This can't be happening!"
Bill in Anne's body is stumbles around, cackling. He stops in front of a mirror while a horrified Anne watches.
"Oh, man! It's been like seven years since I've inhabited a body." Bill slaps himself in Anne's left cheek.
"Woo!" Then he slaps Anne's right cheek. "Woo! Haha! Pain is hilarious!"
"But I don't understand! I thought we had a deal?!" Anne felt betrayed.
"Hate to break it to you, kiddo. You've been duped! You are so easy to be manipulated by your so called 'friend' back in old days, just like the way your best friend was manipulated by the king himself. Now that's outta the way, I'm going to bring back everything for what I would have accomplish and get my revenge against the Pines family! Oops! Spoiler alert!" said Bill.
"Oh, yeah! Well, just you wait until my friends will know about this!" said Anne with her angry looks.
Just then, when Sprig shows up with his disguise clothes, but didn't take notice that Anne's body was possessed by Bill.
"Hey, Anne. You ready to go? Your parents are waiting for you." said Sprig smiling.
Anne went froze. How can her best friend see Bill in her body and not her? Bill smiles when it's time.
"Sure! I'm ready for anything! Raise you to the bottom of the stairs!" said Bill in Anne's body.
"You're on!"
They both ran off from her room. Anne was shocked.
"(gasp) Wait! Stop!" Anne shouts.
She zooms down through the floor and lands in the front door in front of them as they ran through her ghost body, then she turns around and flies towards the family's vehicle where Sprig and her body enters and close the door.
"Sprig, don't listen to him! That's not me!" Anne yells, but Sprig didn't hear her yelling.
"Welcome to the mindscape, kid! Without a vessel to possess, you're basically a ghost!" said Bill while buckling up.
"I'm gonna stop you, Bill! I'll get my other friends that you mentioned and I will stop you!" said Anne angrily.
"But how can you stop me, if you don't exist?"
Bill slowly turns to Anne and then he laughs maniacally as the window rolls up, showing Anne's horrified expression. The car drives off, and Anne is left staring after it.
"Oh, no. What have I done?"
Meanwhile in the junkyard, Eddie, Bailey, and Kettle were already there in time to find the missing piece from the Cloak-Bot. Marcy has revert back into normal and help her older brother to find it.
Bailey and Kettle are looking through the wrecked car that was beaten up. Then Eddie went to investigate throughout the area until he stops and noticed that there are some cluttering of broken dummies. Eddie examined one of the dummies and looked closely when he thought of something.
"Hmm... that's odd." Eddie muttered.
Marcy shows up next to him and looked curiously that her brother is looking.
"Whatcha find?" Marcy asked.
"There were some dummies that were broken, but doesn't that look familiar to you?"
Marcy examines when she looked carefully, but then she started to noticed that there was a drawing face and has wig on a bowling bowl.
"Hmm... I'm started to think that it looks like Anne." Marcy suggested.
"Really? Huh. Whoever made this, they must've given the robot a distraction." Eddie thought.
Just then, Bailey shows up when she hollers.
"Hey, guys! I think we found something!"
Marcy and Eddie raise their eyebrows. They rush towards where Bailey was until they approach, but what they have discovered that Kettle is holding on to the big silver orb in her hands next to Bailey. Both siblings were quite surprised, but barely know what it is.
"What did you find?" Marcy asked.
"It's the orb! I recognized it from the robots that Andrias was making." Kettle answered.
"Wait, that's the missing piece?" Eddie asked surprisingly.
"Yes! This is the one!"
"Marcy, do you know this robot?"
Marcy leaned down to the orb while rubbing her chin with her finger, but she couldn't tell which part of the robot that belongs to.
"It sure looks like from the robot, but I think I know where we can take it." said Marcy.
"To where, exactly?"
Before Marcy could reply, but then they heard a ringtone. Eddie took his phone out from the pocket and answered the call.
"Hello?"
"Eddie! Good news!"
"Oh, hey Sprig. What's up?"
"Anne got called from Terri and she says that the portal is ready!"
"Wait, really?" Eddie raised his eyebrows.
"Yeah! Come over to the warehouse where Terri is working."
"Okay, but how can we find it?"
"I don't know, but maybe her parents will give you the location."
"Gotcha. I'll see you soon."
Eddie ended the call. Bailey looked confused at first.
"Was that Sprig?" Bailey asked.
"Sprig called. He says that Terri calls Anne that the portal is ready." Eddie answered.
"Wait, hold up. Are you saying that the portal to Amphibia is ready?!" Marcy asked when forming her smile.
"Does this mean I get to see my family again?!" Sammie gasps hopefully.
"Yep. That's what he said." replied Eddie.
She couldn't believe that it's finally happening. What they said is true, then it means that she could see her family again.
"YAY!" Kettle cheers.
"Oh, that's wonderful!" Bailey chimes.
"Aw, yeah!" said Marcy.
"Then let's go." said Eddie smiling.
They rush towards to his vehicle when they got in. Eddie and bailey are up front while Kettle and Marcy are in the back, but despite that she's a spirit meaning that she can only sit anytime like chairs or couches, but now she's sitting in the back.
Eddie turned his vehicle on and drove towards the exit as they went on the highway to find the location. Eddie got a text and looked at it that it comes from Anne's mother. Then he went to the map to search the location until it gives him the direction.
Marcy was staring out in the window to see the view of the city. Once the car came to a halt by red light, but then suddenly when she saw something that just flew by. When she looks closer to see what it is, but then her eyes became quite shocked and then gasp.
"Anne?"
Eddie and Bailey looked back at Marcy.
"Excuse me?" Eddie asked.
"It's Anne!"
"What? I don't see her." said Bailey when confused.
"No, it's Anne! I saw her!
"What are you talking about? She's with her parents." said Eddie uncertain.
Marcy doesn't have time for this when she goes through the car door, leaving them stunned.
"Hey, wait!"
She didn't even hear him when she turns into a glowing green butterfly and flew up towards where she's going. Eddie opens the window to call out her name.
"MARCY!" Eddie hollers.
Marcy didn't hear him, but she left a trail of sparkles so that she can lead him. Now he realizes what his sister is doing, then he shifted the lever when the traffic light turns green and drove towards to follow the sparkles. Bailey and Kettle were concerned about this.
"Eddie, what's going on?" Bailey concerned.
"It's Marcy. I don't know how, but she just bolted." Eddie answered.
"But why would she do that?" Kettle asked looking puzzled.
"Whatever's going on, but something is not right."
Somewhere in downtown, Anne flew across to follow her parents' car to stop Bill before he's messing with the portal. It was only her one shot for this, but she's all ticked off that she's been tricked.
"How could I have been so stupid by trusting with that thing?! Why am I so easily manipulated?! Why is this keep happening to me?! ARGH!" Anne growls with frustrated.
When Anne flew fast, but she didn't take noticed when the glowing green butterfly is flying right behind Anne's trail. The Thai girl looks hard enough to find the car, but then she stop and saw that the car has already parked by the warehouse. It took her long enough to find her family as she flew down towards while the green butterfly follows.
By then when Anne has reach to the building by going through the wall, the butterfly reverts back into herself and goes through the wall. Marcy went gasp and took cover behind the crate so that she won't get caught. She couldn't believe what she just saw. Her best friend was two? How can there be two if it's possible?
Anne moves looks around and see that the indoor of the warehouse were filled with the portal that was completely finished, power supplies, computers on the table where Terri is working, and a purple car that belongs to Dr. Jan when she's talking to her parents, but then she spots Bill in Anne's body when talking to her friends.
She turns to a glare that the triangle demon will pay dearly if he tries to do anything stupid or worse. Sprig was sitting on the crate while playfully kicking his legs while Hop Pop is talking to Anne, but possessed by Bill.
"Say, Anne. You've been quiet lately since we have left home. Is everything alright?" Hop Pop asked.
"Oh, sure. Of course, I'm alright. Why would I be?" replied Bill in Anne's body.
"Well, your voice sound so different."
"Oh, that... well... I forgot to take my..." Bill paused when noticed that Hop Pop started to look suspicious.
Sprig and Polly does the same, but Bill quickly covers his secret.
"Oh! Look at the time! I better check what's over there!"
He walks off with the girl's body to head over where Terri is working. Anne flew closer to see what he's been up to when Bill approach next Terri when she smiles.
"So, Anne. Is everything ready?" Terri asked.
"Oh, definitely! Say, is it alright if I could just take a look at which universe there are?" Bill in Anne's body asked politely.
"Well, you said that there's Amphibia, but why do you ask?"
"Oh, it's nothing. Really. I was thinking if there's any map like the multiverse."
"Hmm. Now that you mentioned it, but I'll see what can look through."
"Perfect!"
Anne looks very suspicious when she flew closer, but Bill noticed that she has arrived with his grinned face.
"Oh, hey there, kiddo."
"Give me one good reason why I should've beat the crud out of your eye." said Anne sternly.
"Shh! You don't want to get your friends attention." Bill shushes gently.
Anne gritted her teeth angrily. Marcy silently walks slowly without getting attention, incase either one of them can hear or see her until she hid behind the crate. Just then, Terri has scanned through the map of the multiverse on the computer screen.
"Alright, here's the map to the multiverse. Here in our world has many realms that's been connected like a link to the internet. Here's Amphibia, but I'm unfamiliar to different universe." said Terri.
"Ooh! How about Nightmare Realm!" Bill pointed the finger at the circle with darker theme.
"Nightmare Realm? Not that I ever heard of, but why?" Terri asked when confused.
"Oh! So, that I could see if it's working. Just for a test."
"Are you sure? Whatever this nightmare realm you mentioned it, don't you think that looks extremally dangerous? Last time I heard something from Gravity Falls that went in chaos, but it went back to normal."
"Oh, yeah. Would you look at that. Alright, but let me know when it's ready."
Anne hasn't thought about it first, but right now she needs to do something and fast when she needs to find something that can possessed that has arms, legs, and eyes, but what really hits her when she remembers what Polly is bringing.
She turns a glance at the Plantars that was talking to each other, but with Frobo's head. Anne smirked when she has an idea. Back from the outside, Eddie has parked the car right behind the Boonchuys' vehicle. They got out and walk towards the warehouse when they entered to the front door.
Eddie, Bailey, and Kettle were quite surprised that the portal is ready, then they saw the Boonchuys and the Plantars were chatting with Dr. Jan and Terri, but Sprig noticed that they're here.
"Hey, guys!" Sprig greeted.
Both Anne and Bill turn around at them, but she forgot that they're here. Bill, on the other hand thought that his plan might be so easy. To him, it's perfect.
"Hey, fellas." Eddie greeted.
"Eddie! So glad that you can join us." Dr. Jan chimes.
"Wait, you two know each other?" Hop Pop asked.
"That's right. My sister and I used to visit to the museum recently." replied Eddie.
"Hi, Dr. Jan!" Kettle greeted her.
"Why, hello Kettle. Are you here to see this too?" said Dr. Jan.
"Oh! I almost forgot. She came from Amphibia like us." Sprig mentioned it.
"Really?"
"Wait, you told her about this?!" Eddie looked shocked.
"Oh, relax. She knows that were talking frogs. Same goes for Terri." said Polly.
Both Eddie and Bailey looked at each other's face with concerned looks, thinking that it's too risky. For Kettle, when she started to smile through her mask.
"Wait, I can take off my mask?" Kettle asked optimistic.
"Yeah. You can take it off, now. They're friends now." replied Sprig.
"Okay!" She lowered her mask to show here smiley face at Dr. Jan, then the woman formed into loving face with eyes sparkles.
"Aaww! Aren't you the cutest frog?"
"Actually, I'm a newt! See?" Kettle shows her tail, making Dr. Jan happier.
"(gasp) Well, aren't you the cutest thing I've ever met!" Dr. Jan knelt down and then rubbing her head as the newt girl laughs.
Both teens were sighed with relief. Sprig jumps down from the crate.
"See? They're friends." said Sprig.
"Don't you worry. Your secret is safe with us." Dr. Jan winked her eye at Kettle.
Eddie and Bailey formed their soft smile that their secret is safe. Terri walks over to greet them, but Bill spread his evilly grinned as he turns the girl's body when he clicked on the "Nightmare Realm" and start typing. Anne went shocked that Bill is messing with the portal.
"Bill! You got to stop this right now!" Anne gritted her teeth.
"Why not? I have the body, but you don't! Face it, kid! You'll never beat me!" replied Bill.
Anne took her glance where everyone was chatting, but she was looking straight at Frobo's head. Then she smirked.
"Not if I can help it."
Bill was confused at first, but Anne flew straight towards where Frobo's head was standing before she made with an apology look.
"Sorry, Frobo. But I'm gonna need this."
Now Anne flew inside of Frobo when he started to glitch as the yellow eyes were switch into blue. Bill knew what Anne's been up to, but he has to pick up the pace while typing on the computer and it started to activate, then he rushes towards to Dr. Jan's car before they noticed.
Marcy was stunned that her best friend flew straight to Frobo. Now she realizes what Anne's been doing. To be unnoticed while they're still talking, but then Anne in Frobo's head blinking its eyes to see where Bill is at, but what shocking her that he got the car ready. She needs to think fast.
"Sorry that you quit your job." Eddie apologizes.
"Oh, it's fine. Afterall, Dr. Frake was just being a total jerk." replied Terri.
"Well, I'm glad you did the right thing by helping our daughter." said Oum.
"Good thing that she didn't call the governments. Right, Anne?" said Sprig, but when he looked that Anne was not right by him, but then he spotted Anne that was started to power up, but still didn't notice that Anne's body was being possessed. "Anne?"
Then they all turned their heads at Bill in Anne's body, but with concerns look. The real Anne was shocked.
"Anne? What you doing in my car?" Dr. Jan asked when confused.
"Just powering up to get this thing ready!"
Before Terri can speak, but then she was cut off by familiar voice.
"DON'T LISTEN TO HIM!"
They were frozen. Then they turn their heads at Frobo with blue eyes.
"Frobo?!" Polly stunned.
"You can talk?!" Sprig shocked.
"Guys! It's me, Anne!"
"Wait, Anne?!" The Plantars shocked.
"Anne?!" Oum and Bee were shocked with unisons.
"Yes! It's me! In Frobo's head!" Anne answered in Frobo's head.
"Wh-what's going on?!" Hop Pop stunned.
"Is it really you?!" Sprig added.
"Why do you sound like Anne?!" Polly jumped to conclusion.
"No time to explain! Bill came in to my mind and ask me to shake his hand, but then he tricked me to steal my body just to get what he wants!"
"Say WHAAAAT?!" Hop Pop shocked.
"What are you talking about?!" Eddie asked.
Then they heard a cackle. They turn their heads at Bill, taking over Anne's body. As the cackle continues, they started to grow worries if Anne's telling the truth.
"Anne?" Bee looked a bit scared.
"Of course, I'm not your daughter, you fool! The names Bill Cipher, and I should be thanking you for building this portal for me!"
Bill presses the gas so hard just to open the portal until the lights above the ceiling started to flickered and then the portal started to open, but it's not Amphibia. It's something that Bill really wants to achieve his undoing. He got out from the car and stood in front of the portal, knowing that his plan is working.
"Now I got what I wanted, I can finally regain my supreme for all of eternity! Weirdmageddon has returned!"
Then Bill started to laugh maniacally. They were all shockingly horrified that Bill is the one that take controls of the Thai girl's body. They've been duped all along when no one realized, but it was all too late. Marcy was shocked as well, but it really hit her when she remembers what the king's true plan was. For Sprig, on the other hand does not take seriously.
"Wait a minute. I knew there's somethings wrong with you. You're not my best friend! You're evil, aren't you?!" Sprig raised his voice with anger.
"You're correct! I'm starting to wonder how long you amphibians started to figured it out, but congrats!" replied Bill in Anne's body
"How dare you possesses my daughter?!" Oum yells.
"GET OUT OF ANNE'S BODY! YOU MONSTER!" Polly shouts.
"Monster, eh? Now that reminds me. You frogs used to treat her like monster since the day you have met. Treating her like an outcast with no respect." Bill taunted.
The Plantars drop their anger when they're shocked.
"Wait, how in the frogs did you know?!" Hop Pop shocked.
"Oh, I know lots of things! I know everything about you! Your friends, your family, and your foes! Now you can watch and learn what your nightmares are about to begin!"
Bill turns back at the portal when it's about to open when it shows the background with full of darkness and with evil eyes. Marcy gasp with horrified when the eyes reminded her for what she has seen it before, where she was once attempt to be possessed.
"No." Marcy scared when whispered.
Then Bill looks through the portal where he can see his lacky's behind.
"HEY, BOYS! REMEMBER ME? YOU'RE OWN BOSS! WHO'S READY TO WRECK HAVOC ONCE MORE?" Bill hollers as the demons replied when cackles.
Everyone was started to afraid what's going to happen next, but Anne gives him a hard glare.
"You'll never getting away with this!" Anne yells.
"Yeah! We're gonna stop you!" Sprig agrees.
"Stop me?! You can't stop me! I'm a being of pure energy with no weakness!" said Bill.
"The deal is off! We're shutting you down!" Terri yells.
"Alright, who wants to go first?!" Bill cracked his knuckles.
The whole gang are getting ready to fight, but Anne knew that she can't fight against Bill without her body. Marcy was staring straight at Bill with her horrified look. How was she going to stop him with all this?
She closed her eyes when reach her hands on her head to make all of this go away, but then it happened. Her glowing green power started to rises when the whole place started shake, but very slightly. Then everyone felt that they thought it was an earthquake, making them all confused including Bill.
"Hey, is it just me or the whole building started to shake?" Bill confused.
"Guys? What's going on?!" Anne startled.
"Is it earthquake?" Oum looks worried.
"Quick! Duck and cover!" Bee cried.
Eddie moves his head to find a place to cover, but what shocking him is that his spirit sister started to glow green. He was a bit surprised and stunned at first, but noticed that something is about to happen.
"Marcy?" Eddie whispered.
Marcy started to breathe fast when anxiety, stress, and most of all, her worst fear. She was afraid that if her friends or her family were harmed, then there's one thing that no one took noticed, but her older brother.
"Enough!" Marcy opens her eyes as the green flashes.
Then suddenly, Bill in Anne's body felt that it started to glow green all around the girl's body and he was startled of all sudden.
"Huh? What the?!"
"I said ENOUGH!"
Marcy unleashes her spiritual power as the wing spread behind her like butterfly, then she swings her right arm to command a spirit moth like titan when it flew straight towards to kick Bill out of Anne's body as the triangle demon went through the portal.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa whoa.. hey!"
As the body fell, everyone was shocked. Now Anne has her chance to take back her body. She flew out from Frobo's head and went straight towards back to her body. Marcy's spiritual power were down as the spirit girl was exhausted after unleashing her. Then Anne opens her eyes, but she looked around her body when she formed her smile with relief.
"Yes! I got my body back!" Anne smiles.
"Anne!" The Plantars rush towards to Anne when they hugged her.
"You're okay!" Sprig relieved.
"Don't scare us like." said Hop Pop with his worried look.
"You scared us to death!" Polly cried.
"Hey, I'm okay, guys! I'm fine." Anne stands up after they let go of their embrace.
Anne's parents were relieved that their daughter is okay. Eddie took a quick glance at Marcy that was on her knees, but she looked up when she formed her small smile saying that she's okay when she thumbs up. Eddie dropped his worries that she's okay, but he was surprised how did his sister do that.
"Anne, what was that?" Sprig asked.
"I don't know? Maybe someone just kick him out." replied Anne when shrugged.
"Yeah, but with that glowing green power. What was it?" Polly asked.
Before Anne can reply, but they flinched when they heard Bill's cackle. They looked over where Bill is floating, right between the gateway in both worlds.
"Oh, you think that's cute, huh?! I don't know who kick me out of your body, but you can't stop me! Big things are coming!" said Bill.
"Not if we stop you first!" Then Anne turns her head at Terri. "Terri, pull the plug!"
"Right!" Terri nodded.
As the scientist girl rush towards the cord to unplug, but then she was frozen when Bill use the force freeze as the whole gang were shocked.
"Not so fast, Heart! If you pull that plug, you'll never be able to head back to Amphibia!" Bill threatened to them.
"So? Even if we did, then we'll have to fix this again!" said Anne sternly.
"Alright, fine! Go ahead, but I'm warning you! Don't think that you'll forgive them so easily after they betray you!"
"Anne? What is he talking about?" Eddie asked when uncertain.
"Haven't you heard? Strength is the reasons why she made her ditch school just to get away with all the fun by pranking and steal coins! Just like she was force to steal the music box on your 13th birthday!"
Anne dropped her anger into shocked. The Plantars and her parents were confused, but with worries look.
"Anne? Is this true?" Oum asked quietly.
Anne turns back at her mother with a look of her shocked, but calm's face. Anne can see the hurtful look on her mother's eyes. Marcy was shocked and felt pain like the way she remembers, but at least no one can see her except her brother and his girlfriend.
Anne can see the look Eddie's doubtful face since she's the only person who tells him the truth. He shook his head gently, saying not to trust Bill. Then Anne knows what he means then she started speak.
"Mom, whatever he says is not true. He's lying." replied Anne, but cover up her secret.
"Oh, don't play toy with me! I know everything about what happen between your friendship. And speaking of your friendship, for Wit however, is the reason why she took you away from your family along with your so-called friend for over five months. Just to get away from her family after her daddy receive his new job out of state." said Bill.
"I get it." Eddie gritted his teeth when growled.
"Oh, on the contrary! Didn't she also forgot to mention that your baby sister was stab in the back by the king's sword to the chest, before she drops the box and then sent those four homes?"
Anne gasps. Eddie dropped his stern into completely shocked. Even her parents were shocked even more. Anne turns back at Eddie with his hurt look. She could see a betrayed look on his brown eyes. He felt that his heart was crushed
Marcy covers her mouth to prevent her gasp out loud. She remembers how pain she has felt after risking her life to save them, but she could see Anne's staring at her brother. Bailey covers her mouth when shocked. Sammie doesn't understand what's going. Anne was afraid that she doesn't know what to say, but keep staring at Eddie's betrayed look.
"Tell me this isn't true?" Eddie asked quietly while shaking his head.
Anne replied nothing. Bill crosses his arms as he waited patiently for her to spill the beans.
"Anne? Tell me it's not true?" Eddie asked again.
Then Anne lowered her head shamefully, closing her eyes. She exhaled through her nose in defeat.
"It's true." Anne admits.
"There! Wasn't that so hard? There's something you should know first. You have to be careful who you trust!" said Bill coldly.
Then Sprig just snapped when he had enough.
"You talk too much!" Sprig took out his slingshot with a pebble, then he fires his slingshot straight towards Bill until it poked him in the eye.
"AAH! MY EYE!" Bill shouted.
Then Terri felt that she was release from Bill's force grip and looks back at the triangle demon when his only eye was injured. Then Sprig turn his head at Terri.
"TERRI! PULL THE PLUG!" Sprig yells.
"HURRY!" Polly cried.
Terri nodded, then she pulls the cord to unplug until the power went to shut down. Then Bill quickly recovers his eyes before he was in complete shock that he was outsmart and defeated.
"NO!" Bill shouted.
He took his last quick look at Anne with her scowl face before he glares her back.
"You may have won this round, Heart! But you can't defeat me! Just you wait! Once I have full enough power, the Weirdmageddon will rise again! Until then... I'll be watching you!" Bill calls out with an echo before the portal is closed for good.
The power generator has been shut down when there is some a bit of sparks around the pillar. Bill Cipher has been defeated. For now. Anne sighed with relief before she can hear her mother calling her full name.
"Anne! What is the meaning of this!"
She turns around and see her mother's hurtful look with her father. Guess her secret is out, thanks to that triangle demon.
"Mom, dad, I am so sorry! I have no idea why he came to me and made a deal." Anne apologizes.
"Anne, it's okay. There's no need to explain." said Bee when looked calmly.
"But the music box. I'm the reason why I didn't come back home for the party you were planning. I ruined everything!"
Anne's parents took their step closer to their daughter to give her a warm hug. She was expecting to be yelled at or being scolded, but instead they felt so calm like no other parents. Her mother is rubbing her head gently.
"Of course not, sweetie. You didn't ruin everything." said Oum softly.
"You're a good girl, Anne. Thief or not. You're our daughter and we love you so much. No matter what." Bee added.
Anne let go of her embrace and looked to her parents' eyes with their worried and their trustful looks. Anne formed her small smile. The Plantars thought everything went back to normal, well... almost.
"Well, at least you learned your lesson, but in a good way." said Hop Pop calmly, as he thought.
"No!"
They turn their heads at Eddie with his hurtful look and he felt hurt in his face.
"Not this time."
Anne blinked her eyes when shocked. Marcy knew what's going to happen next.
"What? Eddie, I'm sorry." Anne apologizes softly.
"You knew what happen to her, didn't you?" Eddie raises his voice.
"L-look, it wasn't my fault."
"How?! How could you have not told me that you just left her to die?! Alone, by the hand of that...that tyrant king!"
"It wasn't her fault!" Anne raises her voice a bit.
"Then whose fault was it?! Was it Sasha?! Or that demon?! Anne, I trusted you!"
"I know! I tried to tell her to hurry, but-"
"Why, Anne?! Why didn't you tell me in the first place?! It took me FIVE months to look for her! I left my family, my home!" Eddie raises his voice higher when his breath was shaking before he shout. "I DON'T KNOW WHO'S TO BLAME, BUT YOU'RE THE REASON WHY SHE WAS LEFT DEAD!"
"HOW SHOULD I KNOW?! WHO WAS IT THAT WHO HELP YOU CLEAR FRANK'S NAME?! WHO WAS IT THAT YOU STOOD UP WITH?! WHO WAS IT THAT YOU DEFEND US?! WHO, EDDIE?! WHO?!" Anne yells at him.
Eddie felt flinched when react this way. Anne drops her anger when she made a mistake. The Plantars and her parents were shocked. Kettle is hugging to Bailey's leg out of fear as the ginger haired girl covers her mouth. Dr. Jan and Terri were shocked a bit. Even Marcy as a spirit started to shed her tears when shaking her head gently.
"Please, no." Marcy whispers.
Eddie clenches his fist so hard, then he formed his distrustful look to Anne's eyes.
"So that's it, huh? After everything I've done for you." Eddie lowered his harsh voice.
Anne felt her heart sting. It crumbles to pieces while staring at him, and then he walks away as he stomps his way towards the front door while passing by his girlfriend with Kettle that's been hugging her. She looks scared when Eddie had an argument with Anne.
Marcy couldn't believe that it's been happening again. First, she ran away from home after her dad got a new job out of state, then Sasha betrayed Anne for the Toad's rebellion, then King Andrias reveals her dark secret in front of her friends, and now this has happened.
Once Eddie reach to the front door, he took his final look at Anne, including her friends and her parents that were a bit tearful. Then his small tear started to shed, even he felt betrayed by his most trusted friend.
"Some friend you turned out to be."
Then Eddie walks through the door and then slam it behind him. Anne fell to her knees and started to cry softly. Sprig, Polly, and Hop Pop were wrapping around her while her parents knelt down to comfort their daughter.
Dr. Jan reaches her hand to cover her mouth when sad. Terri sadly shook her head. Kettle started to cry softly while Bailey knelt down to her knees to lift up the newt girl as she's hugging her gently, but Bailey shed her small tears.
All that's left is Marcy, the only girl who ends up as a spirit, fell to her knees and reach her hands to hide her tears, but started to cry. Her only hope was crushed and all because of her, blaming herself from the start. Her breath started to shake when she cries.
"What have I done?"
Tragedy, isn't it? I know things could get wrong, but there can only mean one thing for sure when their friendships can be repaired so quickly. One thing at a time. Hope you enjoy reading and stay tuned for the next chapter!
