And now for that chapter will be short and with a very special guest star, Tint Tormak! admiralDT8's OC's from "Loyalty Among Worlds". Be that mindful that I never steal anything. All I did was based off with some plot with extra characters as long as I gave credits to him. I don't want any insults or spam! Thank you and enjoy reading!
Amphibia: Calamity War
Chapter 51: Sasha's Angels
The next day, Anne and Sasha are discussing with a small group of fighters in the meeting room. Mrs. Croaker and Archie looks so edgy, Wally crosses his arms, Loggle looks pretty tough, Maddie is picking her teeth with her dagger, and Toadie, however was the only frog of this member who was way too soft.
Wendy is now look more cooler than the others like putting her flannel shirt around her wrist, wearing her fingerless gloves, teal bandana around her head, and have black marks on both of her cheeks. She sits next to Dipper and Mabel since they're the only ones who have dealt with dangers back home.
"Listen up, soldiers. The Marauders have intercepted our latest shipment of weapons." Sasha announces it, then the team members looked angry and disappointed as they have been through before.
"Boo!" Wally booed while Maddie stabs the small plushie with her dagger.
"How could they?!" Loggle cried.
"Sorry. Marauders?" Anne repeated just as Sasha points to the chalkboard, illustrating a punk frog with stink lines all over.
"A gang of dirty, anarchist frogs who don't work for Andrias or the rebellion. They hijack caravans, raid villages for scraps, and are basically a huge, unwashed thorn in my side." Sasha explains.
"So, we're dealing bad guys now? Like pirates?" Dipper asked.
"Exactly."
"I've always wanted to take out pirates." said Mabel.
"Don't get ahold of yourself. We're not on Earth, remember?" Dipper reminded his twin sister.
"Oh, right."
"Can't we just smack 'em down?" Anne asked.
"There are too many of 'em to take head-on." replied Maddie.
"Bingo." said Sasha when she turns to flip the chalkboard to the other side.
"Whoa." Anne looks impressed when she shows the group to an illustrated Marauder camp.
"So, we're gonna sneak into their camp and steal our stuff back." said Sasha.
"Diabolical!" Loggle clap his hands.
"Thieving from the thieves?" Maddie looked more eager than this.
"I love dramatic irony!" said Wally.
"Now we're talking!" Wendy fist her pumps.
"Croaker, you and your team come up with a battle strategy. Me and Anne are gonna go grab the gear." said Sasha just as Sadie salutes to her commander with Archie yips.
"Oh! Oh! Can we come?" Mabel asked.
"The more, the merrier. We could use some assistance." replied Sasha.
"Sweet!"
"Alright, let's get to work, ladies!" said Dipper.
"Right behind you." Wendy saluted before she and the others have left the room for which only leaves Sasha's team.
"All right, you miserable layabouts. Listen up!" said Mrs. Croaker, as they nodded unanimously at their team captain, but until Toadie stepped in.
"Hey, before we start, does anyone want a post-it note? Can't have a good meeting without post-it notes." Toadie asked kindly, but Sadie was more annoyed that this small frog was too soft.
"Okay, here's the plan. Loggle and Maddie, you're with me. Wally, Tint, and Toadie, you're on offense. We keep the pressure on until Anne and Sasha are out with the goods. Now gear up. We leave in three!"
"Um, Mrs. Croaker?" Toadie steps in again. "As much as I'd like to be on offense with Wally, I'd be much more comfortable as the...Lookout! Again?"
"Does this always happen with this guy?" Tint leans in when he whispers.
"All the time. He's just too soft." Maddie whispers back.
"Toadie, this is our team's sixth mission and all you ever wanna do is organize the meetings and be the lookout!" said Mrs. Croaker.
"(chuckles) It's what I'm good at! Direct physical confrontation, not so much." Toadie swings a few punches, but accidentally bumps into Maddie and makes her drop her pouch of magic dust, causing her to disappear. "Oh, my gosh! I blew up Maddie!"
"You wish." Toadie turn to see Maddie on the other side, unscathed. "Sup?"
"AAHHH!" He screams when jumps into Sadie before she speaks.
"Listen, Toadie. The world has changed and we've had to change with it." Mrs. Croaker tried to reminds him.
Toadie watches to see Loggle doing his pushups with one arm, then Wally carving wooden ducks with two faced edges, and then Tint conjuring up ghost blades as he looks over to Maddie, who unsheathes a set of blades from her gauntlet.
"Let me give you a spark of improvement." Tint snap his finger and gives her blades a glowing burning ember feature.
"Wow! Thanks, Tint." Maddie thanked him when she's blushing a bit.
"Anytime, Maddie. Anytime."
"Don't you wanna step out of your comfort zone? Become something more than the vest-wearing pencil pusher you've always been?" Mrs. Croaker encouraged him.
"But my comfort zone is so comfy." replied Toadie.
"Well, I think you're capable of so much more."
"Make that two." said Tint as he steps up. "Toadie, my Uncle once said that our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them. If you have dreams, then Andrias and the Marauders are taking them away from you. Do you want that?"
Toadie takes his words of wisdom and tries to step out of his comfort zone, only to go back in.
"Nope! Back to the comfort zone!"
"That was amazing, Tint. You know, if it were up to me, you'd be a great wizard already." said Maddie when she's impressed.
"Thanks Maddie. You know, I'm glad we're working together on this. I was hoping we could make up for lost time." replied Tint.
"Me too, Tint. I'd like to show you what I've been working on."
"C'mon, team. We've got work to do!" said Mrs. Croaker
Tint and Maddie fist bump before the rest of the group walks out from the briefing room. Toadie cradles in his comfort zone, but only to be picked up by Loggle.
Few minutes later, the human teens and the frogs have arrived at the Marauder camp. Sasha lead her teammates through the front door, and took cover behind a couple crates. She gives them the signal that the coast is clear and then they looked around the campgrounds. No guards, no lookouts, no anyone. It looked so deserted.
"It's quiet. Too quiet." said Sasha.
"I don't like this. This could be a trap." Wendy looks suspicious.
"I highly doubt it is a trap." Dipper doubt it.
"Maybe they just ran off?" Mable looked to concern at first.
"Who cares? Let's get our stuff and go." Loggle points to the tent with the signs where the supplies are.
When their friends runs over to the tent, but then Tint gets a chilling sensation from his spine.
"Wait! Stop! It's a trap!" Tint cried, but it was too late.
The punk newt burst out from the tent to startled the team and then the toads and the newts that were all Marauders jumps out of nowhere and surrounds the group when cackles.
"We got you!" One of Marauders cackled.
"They fell for it. Get 'em!" Another one shouted.
"Shoot! Head for the rendezvous!" Sasha cried.
They ran off when trying to escape, but the Marauders have captured half of the team while the human teens have managed to escape. Once they made it to the tree line, just a mile from the camp, they slowed down and catching their breathes.
"Whew! That was clo-" Anne paused as she quickly realized that some were missing. "Oh, no! Where's everybody else?"
"Uh, Anne?" Wendy pointed her finger at the Marauder camp as they all heard some cackles.
Sasha pulls out her binocular to see this first, then gives it to Anne until she react that her friends were being captured.
"The others got caught! We gotta get back down there!" said Anne.
"Absolutely not." Sasha declines when sitting against the log.
"What? Why not?"
"We might just get captured ourselves and the resistance can't lose both its leaders."
Dipper looks through the binocular after he took it from Anne and sees that the Marauders have already captured their amphibian friends.
"Oh man, this is bad." said Dipper looking worried.
"We've got to do something." Mabel looked so worried.
"Then what do we do?" Anne asked.
"Just wait. Croaker's team is pretty tough. There's a chance they'll escape on their own." Sasha suggested.
"She's right, guys. I know you wanted to rescue them, but it's not gonna work. Those guys are really tough one, just like your grunkles. Have faith in them." Wendy assured to them.
"Are you sure?" Dipper asked when raised his eyebrows.
"Yeah, dude. I know they can do it."
"(sighs) Fine. What should we do till then?" Anne asked until Sasha stands up and pulls out two of her swords. One is pink and one is silver.
"We'll train."
Back at the camp, Sasha's team were locked up in a cage as the Marauders cackles until the ringleader behind the scary looking helmet, approaches to the cage. That is when he remove his helmet to reveal his face to them.
"Well, well. What do we have here?"
"Barry? The candy man? You run the Marauders?!" Mrs. Croaker was shocked and so does her teammates.
"Dang right, I do. Turns out I've got a sweet tooth for anarchy." said Barry, the candy frog who is the ringleader of the Marauders.
"What are you gonna do with us, you sicko?" Wally asked.
"We're going to sell you sugarplums to Andrias's army. They pay extra for resistance frogs." Barry answered, then the team gasp when shocked.
"You help Andrias?! What are you, insane?!" Mrs. Croaker demands it.
"Look around you, toots. The whole world is insane, but that's suits us. Doesn't it, Brian?" He asked his muscled toad.
"I used to be a tax accountant. Now I drink the blood of my enemies and eat dessert for breakfast." said Brian.
"See? Turns out the end of the world is sweet!" Barry cackles.
"You really think Andrias is going to let you guys go while you're doing this?! No one can trust Andrias anymore. The moment he gets what he wants, he's going to stab you in the back. Literally!" Tint gives him a cold glare.
"Oooh! I'm so scared!" Barry mocked him. "I'm not afraid, but you should be!"
He cackles along with his cronies as they walked, leaving the team in the cage. From the outside, Barry was the nicest frog to the citizens of Wartwood, but from the inside he is nothing but a horrid and selfish criminal who doesn't even care.
"Then I'll show you your true fear." said Tint, lowered his eyelids with his anger look.
"Well, nothing left to do but accept our fate. Anyone want a Post-it note for their will?" Toadies asked when he pulls out some sticky notes and pencils.
"No! I'm too beautiful to die!" Loggle sobbed, but gets slapped in the face by Sadie.
"Get it together! Here's the plan. I'll get a guard's attention and take him out. Maddie, unlock the cell. Toadie and I will take the Marauders on the ground while you all get the stolen weapons, then Wally blasts us an exit. Got it?" Mrs. Croaker instructed them.
"Got it!" They replied except for Toadie.
"Uh, Mrs. C?" Toadie nervously asked.
"Fine! Toadie, you're the lookout! Now let's do this!" Mrs. Croaker walk towards the cage where the toad guarded the door until she approached to him. "Excuse me, youngster. I'm a little confused. Where am I?"
"Back off the bars, lady! You're in Marauder jail!" snap The Marauder toad until he pulls out a note. "Now, if I've been helpful to you, can you please fill out this comment card?"
Then Sadie grabs the arm and then pulls him up to bang his head against the cage and then slides down until Maddie grabs the key and unlocks it. Now that they're out of the cage, but Toadie looked panicked that he realized when someone is coming.
"G-G-Guys! Incoming! Incoming!" Toadie shouts until Brian loom his shadow over the scarred little frog. Uh, come on, Toadie. You can do this. Excuse me, sir, but I am going to ask you kindly to please stop what you are doing."
The more Toadie tried, but he was just grabbed with squeaky sound by Brian and lifts him up.
"Shut up, tadpole!"
Brian spins his arm fast and then throws over where Croaker and the others rushing towards the tent until he slam his head against the eldest frog and went knocked out cold with the others standing.
"Oh, that's not good." said Wally, but then he and the others were being dogpiled by the Marauders.
Back from the outside of the camp, Anne and Sasha were still sparring their swords as they keep practicing while Dipper was writing his own journal down, then Mabel was on the lookout for any more intruders, and Wendy was sharping a stick with a dagger.
"Haven't we waited long enough? We've gotta get down there." Anne looks anxious to get her friends back.
"(chuckles) Come on, Anne. It hasn't even been 30 minutes. Give it a little more time." replied Sasha before they resume their practice until Anne rollsover and got up.
"Easy for you to say!" Anne tosses her rusty sword for which Sasha just dodge when it hits the tree.
"What do you mean by that?"
"I-It's nothing. On your left."
"Now I know how that feels" Dipper muttered as he remembers.
"I don't know how long this is going to take, but let's wait it out until we get the signal." Wendy assured to them.
"We're you worried about Patrick? I know how much it means to him when he was told to stay behind to do something back home. This isn't right."
"I know, Dipper. But I promised you when we get back home, we're gonna make up with him and explain everything."
"I guess you're right, Wendy."
"I hope they're okay." said Mabel, hoping that they're still okay.
Back at the camp, they were locked up once again as the Marauders cackles after they escape plan has failed. The rest of the team tried to wake their team leader up, but it's no use. Toadie couldn't help, but think that he let his guard down. No, he let his friends down.
"(sighs) I knew I should have stayed in the old comfort zone. Instead, I made things worse." said Toadie sadly.
"Oh, man. She's out cold." said Wally.
"We need a plan, and we need it now." Maddie ushered them.
"So what do we do?" Tint asked.
"I could craft dolls to curse the Marauders in a few hours or days." Maddie suggest this to teach them a lesson.
"What if we just did a bunch of push-ups to get the brain juices flowing?" Loggle suggest that when he's doing a pushups, but Wally interject after jumped onto him.
"I've got it. Just get me to the boomshrooms." said Wally.
"And then?" Maddie waited.
"That's it. Just get me to the boomshrooms. What were we talking about again?"
"I just need a strand of their hair!"
"I knew I should have brought me own boomshrooms!"
As the two of them argued one another, Toadie can't handle this situation since Sadie was knocked out cold.
"Um, guys? Only one speaker at a time." said Toadie. "Guys. Guys!"
Just then, he was startled when Brian approached behind the cage.
"Aw. Look who it is. The tadpole. You having a good time?" Brian mocked as he fisted Toadie's hair when messed up. "Ooh, what do we have here?"
He picks up the pencils from Toadie's shirt pocket and then crushes into pieces. Then he took the sticky notes out and tears it in half as he mockingly cackles. He just yanked his bow tie off of his neck much to his horror.
"No!" Toadie cried.
"(cackles) And thanks for the souvenir." Brian cackles before he puts a bow tie on his hair that was on his chin and walks away from the cage.
Toadie couldn't believe how Brian stoop too low for what he just did. All of his notes and pencils are gone, shredded into pieces. Tint had witness that his friend was being picked on like how bullies do, then he looked so mad that this toad has gone too far until he formed his fist.
"You've just made mistake." said Tint when he conjures up a couple of glowing dark purple orbs and then fires at Toadie, giving him some power. "Here's your self-confidence. I've given you this gift, the rest is up to you."
Toadie looks down at his arms that were glowing and starts to get a glimpse of what might happen if he continues being soft. The Marauders would break his spirit, then his friends would be taken away. All because he wouldn't get out of his comfort zone. Then he clenches his fist before he snaps.
"That…is…IT!" Toadie stomp his foot to get his friends attention, then he growls before he rips off his long sleeves, then he brushes his hair up straight into mohawk, and the picks up his broken pencils while he speaks. "Croaker was right! It's time for a change. Time for me to be UNCOMFORTABLE!"
He roars as he jumps up to the same toad that has a key to grab the head.
"Oh, not again!"
Then Toadie pulls the toad's head to knock him out again. His teammates were amazed by this enchantment.
"Whoa" Wally and Loggle said together with unison.
"He's possessed." Maddie looks amazed just as Toadie hopped on Loggle.
"Forget organized and productive meetings. We just need to get it together!" Toadie slaps Loggle in the face, three times. "Loggle, let's put those muscles to good use. Start digging! Maddie, you navigate us to the stolen weapons. Wally, when we get there, you will use a few boomshrooms to cause a distraction so we can get away!"
"What about you?" Maddie asked.
"Me? I'm the lookout. As in look out for my fist! I'll be the guy who makes sure this all goes according to plan. And Tint, keep up with the channeling. I love this confidence boost. Got it?"
"Yes, sir!" They all replied as they salute until Toadie slaps Loggle again.
"Enough with the slapping!"
And so, according to Toadie's plan when Loggle start digging his way out thanks to his strong muscles. When one of the toad arrive just to check with them and sees them doing nothing until he left. So Toadie reveals that there was a hole and then jumps down through it. Later on, Loggle is still digging the tunnel.
"Ach, it's kind of hard to tell where we're going." said Loggle
Then Maddie uses a spell on an underground spider as she whispers to navigate the location as it guide them from above to the stolen weapons cache. Wally gasps and jumps over the crates, then he looks at Toadie as he nodded and gleefully gathers some boomshrooms for the diversion.
A little later when it's nighttime, Anne and Sasha are still practicing their combat skills. Dipper, Mabel, and Wendy are all watching them practice as they clang their swords, step by step. It's been more than thirty minutes when Anne raised her sword and clings against Sasha's only pink sword.
"Look, Anne. I'm telling you we just have to wait." Sasha assured to her.
"Wait? My friends are in trouble, and here we are sparring." replied Anne.
"That's because we can't risk-"
"Getting captured. I know. I get it. And I know they're just soldiers to you, but to me they're everything."
They stop struggling and step away after they stop practicing. Sasha's second sword was still standing on the ground like it was setup straight to the ground. Dipper and Mabel shared their glance to Wendy before they glanced back at the girls.
"Anne, it isn't like that." said Sasha, but then they heard an explosive as they turn their heads at the camp.
"What was that?" Anne asked.
"That's our cue. Come on. It's go time." Sasha knew that it's time as the girl rushes off to the camp after picking up her other sword.
"That's the signal!" Dipper sat up from the log and runs off with the girls. "Come on!"
By the time they have arrived, both Anne and Sasha kicks the gate open together with swords they're carrying. Dipper and Wendy has their own axe while Mabel has her own grappling hook, but then they stop and sees the Marauder screaming with Loggle chasing a toad with his battle cry.
"Huh?" Anne puzzled.
"What the?" Sasha added.
"When you're in a meeting, bring some pens and notepad!" Toadie jumps up in the air before throwing some pencils to Barry and his cronies fleeing until two of them were knocked and then his top hat just ripped off.
Then Barry stops and gets cornered by Maddie and Tint with a frightening look on his face. He was so afraid since the last time that Maddie has cursed him after the battle of witchcrafts.
"Take a good long look, Barry. As of now, I'm your worst nightmare." said Tint as his eyes glows into dark red, causing Barry to tremble profusely.
"No, no, no, no, no, no, no!" Barry cried.
With Maddie chuckled, and then throws a sack of her magic dust at him until it hits him by turning the candy frog into a giant chicken like before. He wears nothing, but his ripped top hat.
"Oh, gumdrops! Not again!"
"Get back here, tadpole!" Brian yells.
As the ruthless toad tried to attack Toadie by smashing him with his spikey club, but the little frog just jumps by dodging the attack, then grabs the belt from Brian as he hops over, wraps him around fast, and then he tapped his foot on him until he fell down backwards. Toadie jumps on him.
"I'll be taking this back." Toadie rips the hair out of Brian's chin, then takes the ripped hair off from his bow toe and puts it back around his neck until the human teens approached to him.
"Awesome!" Wendy impressed.
"Whoa! Toadie! Where'd you get those moves?" Anne asked when surprised to see Toadie's behavior looks.
"It's actually how I dress the mayor every morning." replied Toadie. "Let's go!"
Anne and the rest of the team runs over to the wagon with full of stolen supplies and weapons, then Loggle set Sadie down gently with the others before he carries and pulls the wagon in front as they made to their exit. Wally set the boomshrooms down and pushed to set off the time.
"Boink!"
Once he runs off fast and jumps with them, Loggle ran as fast as he can until the explosion sets off, thus destroying the Marauders camp as all thugs flew up and down screaming. The mission was a great success once again.
"Wow, Toadie! Great work out there!" Sasha was really impressed. "Savage stuff."
"Thanks, commander." replied Toadie. "Anyway, it was all thanks to Tint. His enchantment was the key to give me the courage I needed to get out of my comfort zone."
"I wasn't enchant you." said Tint.
"Wait, you didn't?"
"yeah, all I did was show you what could've happened if you wouldn't step out of your comfort zone and sit behind the front lines. All that courage and tactical stuff you did, that was all you buddy."
"Huh. Impressive, Toadie. I always knew you had it in you." said Mrs. Croaker.
"Not me." Maddie added.
"You kidding?" Loggle asked.
"I'm still in shock." said Wally.
"That was nice of you for what you did Tint. What kind of spell did you cast to make that happen?" Maddie asked.
"It was in a book about basic oracle spells. Chapter twenty, the future of possibilities." Tint answered with Maddie sit next to him.
"Tell me more."
"Wow. You were right. Looks like they could handle themselves." Anne looked really impressed how her amphibian friends have managed to handle this on their own, then she realize what she said back there. "Hey, uh, about what I said back there..."
"It's okay, but believe me, I do care about these frogs. A lot. We've been through some serious stuff together when you were gone." Sasha looks back to her teammates as they shared their laughs together. "But being in charge means making tough calls. And sometimes you have to stop and remember to have faith in the people around you. You taught me that."
That's when Anne smiles that Sasha did changed to become a better person like she used to be from a young age. If it weren't for her, Sasha will never be the same. Now that matters as they work together is to get their childhood best friend back.
"Thanks, Sash." said Anne.
Dipper, Mabel, and Wendy were all smiling at them that everything turned out just fine. They shared their looks before one of them speaks.
"Welp, now that we don't have to worry about, who was that guy back there?" Mabel asked.
"Yeah, who is this Willy Wonka knockoff?" Wendy added.
"Oh, that's right. I forgot to mention where I've seen Barry before." Anne totally remembers when she and his best friend had an enemy, long ago. "Didn't you know that Sprig and I were both cursed?"
"(gasp) No way!" Mabel looked surprised.
"How did this happen?" Dipper asked.
"Well, it all started back in few months ago…" As Anne begin to tell her story to her friends as Loggle pulls the wagon on their way back to their headquarters.
Back at the camp, well it was until it was destroyed by the boomshrooms, thanks to Wally. All what's left was the injured Marauders as they got back on their feet. Even Barry was defeat with stuck being a chicken for a very long time.
"Aw, man. They took all our stuff. Even our food!" Brian complains.
"This couldn't possibly get any worse. What are we gonna eat now?" Barry groans, but with his big mouth meaning that his cronies would rather eat him instead. They got their knives and forks ready to prepare a batch of chicken for dinner. "Holy BAKAAAAAW!"
Looks like Barry is gonna get eaten! Or so as we thought because it hasn't confirmed that he's either alive or dead. In the meantime, my shifts starts tomorrow from the afternoon until five in the evening and I'll move on to the next one by Monday. Hope you enjoyed reading and stay tuned for the next chapter!
